Bike City, in Cooperation with ABC-Searcy and the Great Strides – Searcy committee, announces the 65 ROSES Tour. This bicycle tour will be held on Saturday, March 20th, 2010 and will begin and end in Searcy’s Spring Park.

The 65 ROSES tour is a fundraising ride to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation whose mission is to cure cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. Cystic Fibrosis is a life shortening, genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. For more information about Cystic Fibrosis or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, visit www.cff.org. The tour’s name, the 65 ROSES Tour, comes as a result of a young boy who heard his mother making phone calls in an effort to raise money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. Not understanding her words, he asked his mother if she was working for “65 ROSES”. Upon hearing the story, the foundation adopted the term and to this day many children refer to their disease as “65 ROSES”.

The tour begins and ends in downtown Searcy, Arkansas and travels through the scenic hills of west White County, with 10, 30 and 65 mile options. This is not a race and all ability levels are welcome. The 65 Roses Tour offers full support including snacks and hydration at registration and at three rest stops, SAG, medical and police support. Post-ride ceremonies will be held at the Spring Park Pavilion with roses being given to each rider completing the 65 mile ride. Lunch and entertainment will be provided.

Family Fun Ride – 10 miles

30 Mile Ride

65 Miles for Cystic Fibrosis.
