Preschool

2012-09-04T13:54:00.000-07:00

It's finally here! Tate's first day of preschool, and it was success! No tears from T or Mom :)

She picked out her outfit last night, and brought her pinkalicious backpack and new flower running shoes. She also picked a french braid.

She was the second of her classmates to arrive, and the first little boy was crying when we came in. Tate had been so excited, but when she saw him she looked up at me like whats going on here. I stayed a few minutes with her and more kids arrived. Luckily the other two girls in the class are in our ward, so she had some familiar faces.

Her teacher is Mrs Myrna, and she is so nice. Tatum reported that she really liked her curly hair and she thinks she might wear it in a bun one day. Also an alligator showed them where the bathroom was which was very funny.
They had a snack of cheese, crackers, and cookies. There were three boys today and their names were Super Why, Hunter, and she couldn't remember the 3rd. Two of the kids were at Disneyland so they didnt come today.

She came home with a big smile and a special flag they made with her name on it. It is proudly hanging on her bedroom door. She kept saying to me "I'm so proud of you!"

I love her.

39 Weeks, Labor Day

2012-09-03T17:30:00.001-07:00

Labor Day, not labor day!! I officially feel like I will literally be pregnant forever. I just assumed this babe would make her appearance early, earlier then big sis. And now I am upset.
Exactly one week till my due date.
Mom's coming on Saturday, and I really hope she'll be here by then!!

We took the kayaks out today with the Correa's and Sara and had alot of fun. It was perfect weather. The water was cool and just the right size to paddle the kids around and play in the sand. Wish I had brought my camera, here are some pics from A's iphone.

Tate LOVED being out on the boat

37 weeks

The countdown is on.
Greg has his fingers crossed for the Friday before Labor Day so he can have the 3 day weekend home.
That's also my birthday, but I wouldn't mind sharing.

Last project before she arrives. Matching capris for mom, skirt for T, and tiny bloomers for P. You know, so we can look cute when people visit us in the hospital.

Sleep Over

2012-06-12T17:00:00.000-07:00

Tatum's long awaited first sleep over finally happened! She invited her cousins Kenzie and Jojo over for the night and could not have been more excited. The girls painted their nails, ate pizza, and watched Lady and the Tramp, Tate's pick from the library. When Kelly and I got home from our sewing class we decided to treat them all to some summer highlights! Another first for Tatum! I was putting in her foil and she said "I don't want you to fake paint it mom!" (She often gets "foils" in her hair while she waits for my other clients to process). So she got a foil with real paint in it, and now thinks she is totally big. :)

They ended up staying up to about eleven so you'd think that little girl would be sleeping hard and sleeping in, but she woke up at 3 and came into bed our bed, kicking Greg to the couch. Then we woke up nice and early and made muffins, then drove the girls back home so Kenz could make it to her morning dance class on time. Not alot of sleep, but as far as I know, fun was had by all! And who really sleeps at a sleepover anyway?

Pretending to be asleep

J and M are so good with Tatum, and she adores them. How many 9 and 12 year olds do you think would like the hang out with a 2 year old for a night? And want to do it again soon!
I'm so grateful that she has these big girls that she can look up to and have so much fun with.

Artsy

2012-06-11T16:00:00.000-07:00

She's been into crafts lately. I dig through the closet of ~~junk~~ all the precious things we for some reason have been holding onto these last five years of marriage, and try to find things for her to create with. I remembered these paints I used a few years ago for who knows what and thought T might be big enough to use them. They are apparently way more fun then using water colors.

Found this bird house for $1 at JoAnn's

The face of concentration

I also had some 8x10 canvases that never turned into anything that she has been painting on. I love to watch her, she really puts time and effort into her creations!

One of her first original pieces :)

And I can't resist throwing up a picture of my girl and her Dad looking for cute and ready for church.

Sewing and Baby Jackson

2012-06-10T21:37:00.000-07:00

Its already June?!

Its already June 10th?!

I feel like time is going by pretty quickly around here, (although my due date in September feels forever away!) We have been staying busy. Working, finishing up Tate's ballet season, going to Seven Peaks when it is warm. I started a sewing class last week and have been having a blast trying my hand at kids clothes. I've actually been trying to sew a couple baby things, and I finished a romper for Tate. Im pretty proud of myself. In class we are making pillow cases, very simple, kind of boring. But I was excited to pick out fabric, and now I have two cute pillow cases in the making and a vision for a decorated bedroom. The hardest part in decorating for me is actually putting together ideas of what i want it to look like, and making the decision to go with an idea!

We babysat Claire the other day and I had her model the romper I made for Bootsie. I love it!! When you look at it close you can definitely tell it is made by a very beginner, I was just amazed it actually turned out the be a piece of clothing someone could actually wear. Go me.

Such a cute model!

Tate's newest cousin Jackson was born this week and we got to travel all the way up to Layton to visit him! Good thing we love you guys :)

Tatum LOVED holding him. Touching his soft skin. Wrapping and unwrapping him. She said "Aw mom, look at his tiny ears." And when he started crying "I think he wants a cracker mom."

She is going to be such an awesome big sister!

My Genius Two Year Old

2012-05-30T15:38:00.001-07:00

I was so excited to see this drawing Tatum made the other day.

If you can't tell, it is a picture of a pirate

(her first drawing with a person!) (that can actually be identified as a person)

also there is a pirate ship and treasure.

I am one proud mama :)

Happy Sunday

2012-05-20T20:01:00.003-07:00

Tatum and Greg found this huge wishing flower on their walk home from church

We've had a fun weekend

Friday G had the day off, went fishing in the morning, then we swapped Tatum and I went to my friend Shelby's to sew a romper for Bootsie. I am a slow sewer, and only got the top half done, but I am so proud of myself for how it is turning out.

Saturday Tate and I drove Jenna around looking for a car. Not fun. We didnt find anything, But we were happy to spend some time with our Jenna who's finally home from "Mania", as T refers to it.

We three also stopped by Val's for a few hours and chatted and helped her make cookies for a party that night.

Next we went to the Riverwoods splash pad with Brenna, Charlie, and Claire. T was upset that I didnt bring her bathing suit, but she soon realized it was fun to get your clothes wet too. They had radio Disney there playing games and giving out snow cones, stickers, and baloon animals. Tate asked for a pink and blue dolphin.

And then late last night I met up with a bunch of girls from the ward to get frozen yogurt and watch What to Expect When Youre Expecting. The movie was hilarious, and I had alot of fun getting to know the girls better.

Today we went to church. Tatum went to nursery without crying (though she did have a big frown on her face... baby steps). My back/side have been hurting lately, so Greg let me take a nap before he headed out for home teaching. When I woke up I made a new recipe from Pinterest, Cheesy Chicken Ranch Lasagna. It was pretty good, but I think if I make it again I'll add in some sort of vegetable, and maybe make the sauce less ranchy.

Now, after an hour and twenty minutes getting Tate ready and put into bed, I'm going to find a movie to watch on Netflix and cuddle with my love on the couch. Happy Sunday everyone.

Dentist

2012-05-10T15:57:00.000-07:00

Tate's first trip to the dentist

We've been talking about how fun it is to go and have the dentist count your teeth and brush them with his special toothbrush, so she was beyond excited. Dad went first to get her ready, and she got to help hold the mirror and count his teeth.

She also got to press the buttons that make the chair go up and down. So cool :)

She sat perfectly still and got those little chompers flossed and polished, then she picked out an orange toothbrush and orange floss.

Of course Popcorn came along for moral support, and she got a check up too.

My Ballerina

2012-05-08T16:40:00.000-07:00

Trying to get a good shot of a two year old doing ballet is not an easy task. Every time I tried to take one of her face she turned around. So I have about 20 pictures of the her back :) That ok, its a cute back.

She is the youngest girl in her class, but she is one of the best. She is very good at keeping her attention on Ms. Lynn and following instructions. If we have to do makeup classes she gets to go with the 4 year old class, and she keeps up with them too. In June they are doing Swan Lake for their recital, and Tate and her class get to be bunnies. They practice bunny hopping every where they go.

Practicing her échappé sauté.

(had to look that one up)

Man, I love her.
