I am putting together another computer last night hopefully to run windows 7 on it. It is a 1.8 GHZ dual core with 3 GB of memory in it. It has 1 TB Sata Drive. I hope my dual video card works or I will have to get another one at the end of the month. It wouldn’t read any DVD cd’s but if you take the cdrom and put it on another computer it will read and auto boot fine. I got the 2 GB memory kit, the 1 TB drive and a new power supply for $166.00 at newegg.com. I think that was very good price.

MY current computer needs to be reprepped because I am loosing sound every so often and I have to reboot. I rather learn something new then stick with windows XP. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the sound to no luck. I just think it is time for a new computer. My current computer I got in 06 so I think it is time for an upgrade to something better.

Here are is a picture from last night of the new computer. The cdrom is my dads that he got, and the IDE drive was his also. I ended up taking out the ide hard drive and the Sata USB Adaptor. I also ended up making the Sata drive in the IDE Mode.

It was a long night and nothing was working but it finally worked in the end. I have a operating system on and it is faster then my current setup. Is anyone going to try Windows 7 or Are you going to stick with your current system?

Beer Pong and SU Football

I took some pictures when I went to the SU football game. They are doing better then previous years this year, but they still need a lot of work. At this game they were playing against Cincinnati. They lost but it was a good time with friends.

This past weekend I went and played beer pong. I have never played on a inflatable beer pong table before. I wouldn’t advice people go to a Chinese buffet before you go play beer pong. I was so full I could only do one round. It kind of sucked. It was good times with friends so that is the only thing that matters.

Spyware and Malware is the biggest problems people have with their windows machine. I can get into the Windows vs. Mac debate but I am not going there. At work and out of work clients you will see this. People are just going to websites that are infected with Spyware and Malware on the website. I have used a lot of free software that helps cure this crap.

Here the names that I use to clean Spyware and Malware off of computers. There are more tools out there but I think this is good bunch to clean most of them out. What tools do you like to run to clean out the Spyware and Malware that you see?

SuperAntiSpyware
Malware Bytes
Spy bot search and destroy
Combo fix – Make sure this comes from bleeping computer
Trend Micro HijackThis

CCleaner is a registry cleaner, but you can also use it to delete things out of the startup of the computer. In Windows you can go to start -> Run -> type in MSCONFIG then go to startup tab. It does the same thing. I like CCleaner because it has a lot of different features that it can do.

Sometimes you have to go into safe mode to run these because some of the Spyware / Malware like to run in the start up so you can’t get it when in regular windows. To boot into safe mode on a windows computer hit the F8 key when your computer is booting up. All you need is the Administrator Account Password. Once in safe mode then you want to run the Spyware / Malware application that you have installed.

You also might want to run a real time Spyware / Malware software. If you run a real time software hopefully it will catch it before it infects your computer. Here are couple of real time Spyware / Malware applications that you can download for free.

Do you need to buy a exit sign?

If you nee to buy some exit signs then I have a website for you. The website is www.exitsignwarehouse.com. They have every kind of exit sign that you might be looking for.

If I had the money I think it would be cool to have clear exit sign with changeable lights inside as a picture on the wall. You will see some people take road signs and hang them in their bedroom, but I think it would be cool to hang an exit sign with lights in it. I might be crazy, but I think that would be cool. What do you think?

Do Fat Burner Pills Really Work?

I don’t know why people push these fat burner pills online. Most of them claim that you can lose a lot of weight by using a pill I think this totally wrong. I was reading a time article called The Trouble With Fat-Burner Pills and it said most of these pills have dangerous ingredients like ephedrine. Also some of the pills have more dangerous variants containing combos of ephedrine, caffeine, pseudoephedrine and the more potent norephedrine. In the article it said if you take these pills with the variants ingredients the side affects could be similar to those of the banned drug methamphetamine. I wouldn’t want to take those fat burner pills. The only way to lose the fat is to exercise like biking, and running etc. There is no miracle drug to lose the pounds or to speed up the process of it.

Do you have antivirus software on your computer or are you one of those people that say I won’t get infected with a virus so I won’t install one. You can get infected by just going to a website. I say if you don’t want to pay for one then there are bunch of free antivirus software that are good.

I know there are more out there but here are two that I have used and they are really good. If you have used other ones please share them.

If you think you have a virus and non of your antivirus that you installed on your computer can’t pick it up then you can also try trendmicro online antivirus software. The URL for the online AV scan is housecall.trendmicro.com.

If you don’t trust the free Antivirus software then you can buy one. I am looking at VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware from Sun Belt Software. Once you buy this Antivirus software then you have unlimited home license which means you can install it on any computer. It is a real time protection and it has small memory foot print on your computer. I will never buy notron because I had bad experience with it. So if I ever have to buy one or if one of my customers don’t trust the free one then this is a good alternative. The price on the website is Only $29.95 so that is not a bad price. Have you used VIPRE before?

What do most of you use at home? In another post I will talk about the kind of spyware and malware software that I use. I see a lot of spyware and malware on computers. Sometimes you have to use different software to combat the problem.

Amazon Associates Can Share Products on Twitter

Amazon now has a share on Twitter button on the site stripe when you visit a amazon page you will find it at the top of the page. When you click on the Twitter button it will generate a message that will include a shortened URL that already includes your Associates ID. You’ll have the option to edit this message or simply hit the ‘Update’ button to post to your Twitter account.

I think this is cool because it is another method to monetize your twitter account. I just tried this on IE 7 and I got a error trying to go to the site for Share on Twitter, but it worked in Mozilla.

This is the message that I tweeted out to my followers “Just saw this on Amazon: ‘Kindle Wireless Reading Device (6″ Display, U.S. & Internationa…’ by Amazon.com for $259.00 http://bit.ly/3U8XIe”.

What do you guys think about this? I think it is pretty cool and hopefully this will make people some money. You have to wait for sponsored tweets but this if you like the product that you are selling you can easily send it out to your Twitter list.

Searching For A Job?

When I got out of college and starting in the real world it was hard for me to find a job. I did contracting for a year and two months, but I still couldn’t find a job. The place that I did my internship at said they were hiring and they wanted me to interview for the position. I have been at my current job for a year 9 months. I was hired in March 2008. When I did my IT job search I looked on the common website that most people do, but it came down to networking. They liked me because they new what they were getting and knew how I worked. It all worked out in the end. Where I live now it is very hard to find a IT job.

Here are some of the common website that I searched for to find a job when I was looking.

The contracting jobs that I got they found my resume on monster. I took one job but only stayed about a week because it was about an hour worth of traveling and I couldn’t do that. They had couple of other contracting jobs that worked out. One place where I got a contracting job I stayed about a year and right before I got my job now I was at a 1 month contract. How did you find your current job?
