Not to long ago I met with this beautiful baby girl and her mommy for a mini session to get a few pictures of her in her dress that mommy made for her to wear for her dedication. It was a bautiful weather in a nice new location, and mommy brought along an awesome basket.. :)

You have no idea how many newborns I've met in the last few weeks.. funny how I've had only boys lately!!.. This sweet boy was welcomed by 2 older brothers.. I bet mom and dad will have tons of fun once this little one joins the other 2 in their adventures...
He was so so sweet!!

He was just a sweet boy.. I met his mommy and daddy not too long ago when I took mommy's belly pics... and I was just so happy when she called me to take his newborn pictures, and I'm super excited that I'll see him grow through his whole first year.

I think this is one of my faves captures of mommy and baby.. love it!

A couple of weeks ago I was very fortunate to be part of a very special day in the life of this sweet baby girl and her family.. I was there to capture that special moment, it was a wonderful reception and we all had a super day..

I had the fun opportunity of working with this nice family again, this time was for a very special reason... they'll be adding a sweet baby girl to the family!!!... can you imagine how excited we all are?!... :)

The boys did awesome!.. they all were so helpful!.. mommy wanted this shot! it looks so sweet!

I got a new toy, a new lens.. this photo passion that I have is a little to0 expensive.. LOL but I so love it that it's well worth it... it came in the mail and I had to take it with us today while we went exploring our new town.. don't they look cool?!

9 months old is one of the best ages.. they are in that cute stage where they just smile all the time, they don't move yet and most importantly they don't talk back.. ;) I LOVE working with this age, I just know it's going to be fun.
Of course little W was no different, I got to his house and we just had fun around his neighborhood, one of those sessions where I just follow around with my camera.. my favorites.. :)

I'm sure you can tell that I try to keep my photos as close as real as I can, I'm not against photoshop but I try to avoid it... but well, I had to try this and I splurged in some textures... I'm no fan of textures at all, but I need to agree that some pictures just need a little something and textures is a good way to get it.. so here is an example of what I got.

This pictures is just with my basic editing.

I added a texture here.. what do you think?

If there is anybody reading this blog from the North, then you'll probably laugh of this, but for us is a big deal!.. SNOW in AL!!.. :) we actually got around 5in, it melted in no time but it was fun while it last... Vincent stayed out for about 2 minutes.. apparently it was way to cold.. the other 2 played longer, then Allison went back out again.. she really loved it!..

I got to meet this new baby boy and his mommy and daddy not to long ago.. he wanted nothing with sleeping, nothing really worked to get him to close his eyes to get those cute sleepy pictures that I love so much, but he taught me that I love the wide awake newborn pics as much as the other ones.. :)

Well, I'm finally hooked to the internet from my work computer... the house is far from been done, but I keep telling my self: "baby steps"... :)

I'm sharing today this session that I had a couple of weeks ago with big brother, baby brother and pretty momma... I've known them for a while so it was nice that I got to do this for them... Baby wanted nothing with sleep, he just wanted to eat... and big brother was a lot more excited about Sesame Street than me.. but we managed to get some cute shots...

and big brother.. yup, he's been at the top of my blog for a while.. :)

I LOVE mom and baby shots.. they are just so sweet!!

ok, now back to unpacking.. ;)

Crazy times in the Van Epps Household... We've moved to another house, looking for a better school district for the kids... we found a cute house in an awesome neighborhood, closer to where all my cool clients are, so that's a plus too.. :)
So as you can imagine I've been a little bit busier than usual.. packing a house is not fun, specially with my "helpful" little ones. We got to the house yesterday and now I live in a house full of boxes.. :) the kids are having a blast though.. lol
I've been working non stop, in fact I was lucky today to be part of a baptism of a sweet little girl.. I have TONS of pics to share, but I haven't put together my work computer so they'll need to wait a little bit longer.. right now I'm in my laptop, I don't like to not post often so here I am. I promise I'll be back soon with more sessions to share!.. :)

So about sessions, March is filling up FAST!.. I have very little space available now, April is open. Contact me if you would like to schedule a session for the spring.

Anyway, because there is no post without pictures, here are a couple from the last few days.. I'm sorry if the colors are off, the screen in the laptop is not good and I have no idea how the pics look..
My babies having fun with some boxes!.. I don't understand why we need to spend tons of money in toys if a box brings hrs and hrs of fun!!

And our new house with tons of boxes that need to move from there.. my daughter is posing LOL... did I mention that I LOVE the light in the house?!!? there are windows everywhere!.. I LOVE it!!..

I met with this family a couple of weeks ago, they are welcoming a brand new baby girl who is 3 months old now.. You can totally tell how much she's loved by everybody..

So the voice about my photography passion reached all the way to my hometown in Mexico and during my visit this past December I was asked by a magazine to talk a little bit about it so they could do an article about me. This magazine, "Esphera Social", is about the people from Oaxaca. We met at a local park and we had a little photo shoot and talked a little bit of what I do.. I was nervious about me in the other side of the camera.. but it was fun!.. they captured me doing what I love too :)

I'm sure my mommy is walking around with her copy of the magazine.. ;)

I had the fun opportunity of document "MT's" first birthday.. She was one happy girl and enjoyed everything about her party... You might recognize her from sessions before, I met her when she was a tiny baby, now she's running!!.. I love that I get to see my little clients grow.. I seriously love my work!..

Can you believe is Valentine's day already??.. it seems like yesterday that we were putting the Christmas tree out!!... time sure flies!...
I've been busy busy with sessions and kids and life... sometimes I feel like I need a day off everything, but well... I guess mommies don't have that luxury.. :)

I had the super opportunity once again of getting with my camera a birthday boy... I just love how they enjoy that cupcake!!.. This sweet boy really got into it and love it!!.. His proud parents were so nice too.. I'm so happy I got to meet all of them!..

And enjoying the nice weather with one of his new toys.. all that biking made him thirsty!

Here I am, sharing more from Oaxaca.. and I still have tons of them, but I know I need to share little by little or you'd get tired.. ;)

So the mommy of this cute kids was one of my best friends from high school, and now we are still in touch super often.. she's been here visiting too.. her daughter was born one week after my Allison so it's been super fun to share with her since we were pregnant with them.. Lets say that these babies are so close to my heart that they feel like my own..

When I first got an email about photographing an almost 5 week old and a 22 month old I got nervious.. first the baby was out of that "sleepy" newborn stage and big brother was hitting the famous 2's.. I'm always up for challenges though and as I was driving to their home I was super excited..
I got there and I was received by a super sweet family... I know I always say the same, I guess I'm just lucky to have sweet clients all the time.. :) but it's totally truth. No exception here. I was so surprised about Big brother, he was such a good boy!.. baby sister wanted nothing with sleeping pictures.. but I decided to wait until she was tired and she finally fall asleep, letting me capture those awesome baby pics.. so here they are.. I know I'm sharing tons of them, but can you blame me??

I love little details, and with this awesome chair on her nursery even more..

I love this pics.. shows how much big brother loves his baby sister..

I think this is one of my favorites.. I too had 2 kids with paci (actually three at some point).. so everytime that I see siblings so close in age really hits close to my heart.

and finally sweet baby sister.. it was so worth it to wait til she was asleep.

I had the honor of meeting with this sweet little girl and her parents a few days ago. They were celebrating "E's" firts birthday and I was there with them to share the moment. She did awesome and really enjoyed her cupcake and balloons.

I leave you here with super cute little "M" who was celebrating his 9 month birthday... mom (and her friend) had the cool idea of shooting at the Galleria Mall since it was cold. So much fun!.. baby was full of smiles!!! he's getting soo big!!... he's part of my 1st year package and we just have one more session to go.. I know I'm going to miss seeing him so ofter..

I had the oppotunity of meeting this super fun mommy and daddy to be.. I always enjoy sessions with pregnant ladies and of course it was no exception this time.. it was COLD out so we pretty much stayed 5 min outside my hands were numbed!

I really like this pic.. I think is going to be a nice memory for them outside the house they were living by the time their first baby was born.. I think I'd like to have a pic like that of me.. :)

One of my other sessions from Oaxaca.. Emiliano's mommy and me have been friends since we were little girls.. to take pictures of her little boy was such a cool feeling, something like he's like one of my own too... He's just adorable with awesome eyes.

and have no idea how to use it???... this is your opportunity to learn!!!
After tons of emails asking me about tips, classes, etc.. I decided to just go ahead and do ti. I don't think I know it all in the photography world, but for sure I can share with you what I know and help you to take better pictures of your little ones..
There are 2 options of classes, we can have a one on one time (aprox 2 hrs) or we can have a playgroup/class session where you, me and your friends (or new friends) can get together (max 5), bring the kids and have a little chat about photography 1hr/week (4 hrs total).
the class will include subjects like:

how to use your camera
exposure/lighting
composition
editing software
printing
etc
