I’m really excited to announce that the new ShakeItPhoto V1.1 was just approved and is for sale at the Apple Store. The new version allows you to process existing photos in your camera roll though the application. Also, You can shoot as fast as you need with the new multi-threading technology. No waiting and shaking if you don’t want to. iPod Touch users can also now use ShakeItPhoto. Of course, the cropping issue on the 3GS was fixed as well as some other small wiggles and bumps.

Please upgrade if you have the original or for darn sakes, if you haven’t bought it yet, please do at the Apple App Store.

Welcome to an all new five second projects. This week’s theme is “Summer In Space.” What could be better than a cannonball splash in zero gravity? Or, what about a hotdog on the moon? Create a short project based on the theme and post it in the comments to be entered into the contest.

Why Should You Enter? Check out the video…

How Do I Enter?

1. Create a five second animation based on the theme.

2. Upload your video to Vimeo. Don’t forget to add a link back to this blog post.

3. Post a link to this posts comment thread and I will add it to the Channel.

4. Deadline is July 27th

What Are Five Second Projects?
We all want to make cool shit for our reel right? Sometimes you just need a theme to get you started… Some rules to fight against. Use the theme “Summer In Space” to make a five second motion piece and link it in the comments of this blog post. “Shout Box” submissions will not be found and will not be added to the channel. Please be sure to post a link in this post’s comments to ensure me seeing it.

It’s really great to see so much participation. Tell a friend about the five second projects and get them involved too. Don’t forget to push yourself to try something new every week. What about a new piece of software or technique you have wanted to try? Take control of your creative output and Make Cool Shit!

Check out the entries here or visit the Vimeo Channel…

I wanted to post some shots taken with the new iPhone 3GS. I have been really impressed with the quality from the new camera and lens. It’s a wider angle lens so that helps take better landscape. The macro focus is super useful (especially for taking photos of beer labels.) The touch to focus feature is brilliant.

What really blew me away though is the fact that the touch point on your photo also regulates exposure and color temperature. Check out the image below to see the difference. I took a photo of a back lit subject with this feature. This is huge! With the old iPhone cameras, backlit photos were impossible. Now, just touch on the person’s face and take your shot. Check out some of the shots below all taken with the new camera. I even have a full-rez version that you can download below too.

Lastly, I wanted to show you a little behind the scenes with the new version of my iPhone app, ShakeItPhoto. We have uploaded version 1.1 that is fully compatible with the new camera on the 3GS to Apple and are waiting for them to approve it. Until then, I wanted to share the results with the new version that features the full cropping. The new wide angle lens really helps get more in the shot when taking ShakeItPhotos. Plus, the better quality lens and images really show themselves when processed through the App. Enjoy.

UPDATE: Sorry, there are still some video issues with this one. Update coming soon. Stay tuned!

Can’t see the video? Go to GreyscaleGorilla.com

Some of you were asking about a quick tutorial on how I set up last week’s Dynamics Test. I made this tutorial to show you the basic set up of how to get objects in your scene to bounce off each other. As you know, I have been a bit obsessed with dynamics in C4D all weekend. I hope to get more tutorials about dynamics soon. Enjoy!
