June has continued to see economic growth for Groundlevel with a huge increase in work orders, new contract wins and the renewal of contracts with Warrington Housing Association on 10 sites. Looking forward, this puts Groundlevel in a very strong and positive position for the months ahead. Work at Surf Snowdonia, Dolgarrog is progressing well and on track for completion ready for the grand opening in August 2015.

Our next blog will hopefully be posted on our brand new website which is coming soon.

May has seen a continued rise in consumer confidence and the knock on effect is widespread.
We are delighted to announce yet more significant contract wins throughout the company. Our recent success with Golden Gates Housing Trust has resulted in landscaping works to 300 properties.
Surf Snowdonia continues to provide further instruction and along with several refurbishment orders, we find ourselves at full capacity which will create further opportunities for all.
We have had lots of positive client feedback recently which we do try and forward to the relevant departments. A big thank you to all our staff who are working so hard, but especially the lads working at Surf Snowdonia at the moment who have worked through some horrible weather conditions.

Congratulations to our cleaning department who have been highly praised for their work by a resident at Merchants Quay. It is fantastic to receive feedback from our clients:

" By the way, would just like to say that the new contractors appointed for cleaning the windows and communal areas of the apartment blocks are a noticeable improvement on the previous company. I have noticed that not only are the carpets spotlessly clean but also the stair treads/plates have been wiped clean of any marks, they appear to be using a better quality air freshener too, much pleasanter smell! Overall a higher standard of cleaning which I hope will be maintained."

Surfsnowdonia, Dolgarrog

Surfsnowdonia, in the village of Dolgarrog in the Conwy Valley of North Wales is a unique concept which will attract a worldwide audience. Through a rigorous tender process, the 'Ainscough Group' awarded Groundlevel a £500K contract. Groundlevel will construct bespoke wave guards and install timber decking to the pier and the restaurant frontage. Groundlevel will also fully landscape the entire scheme. The recruitment of a further 15 staff will see see the company grow from strength to strength.

Work has now been completed on the stunning landscaping project at Birchdale Rd, for which we are hoping Groundlevel will be awarded the Gold BALI award. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this project. It looks fantastic.

Congratulations to our decorating team who have been awarded two large contracts at Alexander Court in Manchester and Ampleforth House in Warrington.

Work has been completed on the culvert re-diversion works for the Himor Group. Thanks once again to the teams that have worked hard to get this done.

February has been a very positive month for Groundlevel with additional instruction from the Himor Group for significant improvement exercises at the newly acquired Carrington Business Park. Casserly Homes have awarded Groundlevel numerous soft service contracts including a substantial contract at Merchant Quays in Manchester. Looking forward, the next phase of work at Parkside Colliery has been scheduled for April and Richard Ainscough has instructed work at Liverpool Airport. We are now building relationships with the Leigh, Lowton and Golbourne Schools Partnership.

A big thank you to all our staff who took part in the St Rocco's Hospice Christmas Tree Collection. Despite the windy conditions, a total of 1200 trees were collected raising over £12,500 for St Rocco's. Every penny raised will go towards providing quality care for the patients at St Rocco's and valuable support for their families.

Groundlevel, in conjunction with St Rocco's Hospice, Warrington Borough Council and Golden Gates Housing Trust are organising a Christmas Tree Collection this year to raise valuable funds for the Hospice. We will be collecting Christmas tress in return for a donation of your choice to the Hospice.
To recycle your tree, just make a booking with St Rocco's by phoning 01925 579211.
Christmas Trees will be collected over the weekend of the 10th January 2015. Once collected your tree will be taken to central points in Warrington to be mulched and made into compost - raising funds and saving the planet too!
Please note that donations must be given upon making a booking and cannot be left with the Christmas trees on the day. We will be collecting from WA1, WA2, WA3, WA4, WA5 and WA13 postcodes.

As relationships strengthen with the Langtree Group, we have received new instructions for clearance works at Festival Gardens in Aigburth, Liverpool. Our previous hard work on the Surf Snowdonia site in Dolgarrog, has resulted in new instruction for extra works there in the near future.
We have successfully refurbished several water damaged apartments in the Salford Quays area of Manchester at Saltra Apartments.
Landscaping works at the property on Birchdale Rd are coming to an end and look fantastic. Our client is delighted with the work that has been carried out over the past few weeks.

A big thank you to all staff who have worked so hard over the summer months on our recent projects and jobs. It is much appreciated the way our staff pull together during the holiday period to cover staff absence.
Thank you to the staff who have been working to strict time scales in our local schools to ensure that jobs are completed for the start of the new academic year.
The fantastic work at the Hatton Arms redesigning the beer garden, has resulted in instruction to carry out a substantial extension and renovation project in the village of Hatton.
Numerous jobs for Golden Gates Housing Trust have reached completion and excellent feedback has been received.
We have recently received instruction to complete a large extension at a property in Handforth.

Following great feedback from one of our clients, we have been awarded the grounds maintenance contract at Blessed Thomas Holford College in Altrincham. This is a fantastic opportunity for us and now means that we have the grounds maintenance contracts for three high schools in Trafford.
The school summer holidays always means a busy time for Groundlevel and we have been instructed on decorating works at St John Fisher Primary School and the refurbishment of the offices at Lowton St Mary's Primary School. Cobbs Infant School in Appleton has received a new wetpour safety surface in its Millennium Garden and we are carrying out the groundworks and electrics for a new modular classroom at Abbott Primary School in Manchester.
Warrington Housing Association has awarded Groundlevel the grounds maintenance contracts at ten sites in Warrington with a view to further sites.
Trinity Estates has instructed our cleaning department at Staley Hall in Staley Bridge.

As we enter the summer months we see Groundlevel grow from strength to strength as we are instructed on many new and exciting projects. We have received instruction from Langtree to carry out upgrade works at the Lord Daresbury site and clearance works at Carrington Business Park. Golden Gates Housing Trust have instructed us to carry out refurbishment works on accommodation at St Elphins, Warrington. We have a number of large projects taking place in our schools department with work commencing in the middle of July at Lowton St Mary's Primary School and The Cobbs Infant School, Warrington.

Our grounds teams continue to work hard on the clearance works at the Dolgarrog site at Surf Snowdonia. Closer to home we have received instruction from Elite Homes for the refurbishment of seven flats.

Recruitment for the summer season in our grounds maintenance department is now complete and we welcome 19 new members of staff . Our Grounds department has had a fantastic few months and we thank them for their attention to detail whilst out on sites, commitment and strong work ethic.
A big thank you to the operatives who have constructed a fantastic new climbing wall together with a hand painted scene at St John Fisher Primary School.
The month of May will be another busy month for our Reactive teams who have received instruction from Golden Gates Housing Trust for more roofing works.

A warm welcome to all new members of staff who have joined us this month. Recruitment in our grounds department puts us in a strong position once again to continue to deliver high standards of grounds maintenance on our school, residential and commercial sites.

New business work sees instruction from the Langtree Group, (Warrington Central Site) for improvement works consisting of paving and fencing. Langtree have also instructed on the Shell Carrington Development.

Having worked closely alongside the Environment Agency we have recently been instructed by WCP Associates to carry out significant upgrades to the Wharf Development in Warrington.

HLM have awarded Groundlevel the Ramsey Hill Maintenance Package and our Schools Department has won contracts for schools in both Wigan and Manchester.

As we start to see an end to what feels like a very long, wet winter, the arrival of spring brings with it a very busy time at Groundlevel, in particular for our Schools' Department. Our recent marketing campaign and subsequent presentation to the Wigan Schools at the DW Sports Stadium has generated much interest. We are now in the process of finalising contracts with a large number of schools to commence on 1st April 2014.

Our relationship with the Langtree Group continues to go from strength to strength and we have now been instructed on the first phase of landscaping works at the former Park Side Colliery.

Golden Gates Housing Trust have instructed us to carry out 5 re-roofing projects in the Warrington area which will keep our reactive department busy.

One very exciting project that we have recently been awarded is the landscaping contract for Surf Snowdonia in the village of Dolgarrog in the Conway Valley. Surf Snowdonia will be a showcase for the world's first publicly accessible Wavegarden artificial surfing lagoon. We are delighted to have been awarded this fantastic opportunity.

After the Christmas break, business quickly began to prosper in the same way that it did through 2013, with requests being received from new clients and new instructions being received from our existing customers.

We have been joined by three new members of staff in January, and have already expanded our fleet by an additional two vehicles to accommodate increasing workloads. Further investment in staff and equipment is expected to take place through the first quarter of this year.

Our relationships with the education sector continue to flourish and expand with recent instructions having been received from a number of schools in the Halton area, including: Moorfield Primary School, and St Gerard’s in Widnes, where we have been instructed on electrical works, and St Edwards in Runcorn where we have been awarded the grounds maintenance contract and instructed on external improvement works.

As Langtree Group further expands its dynamic portfolio, it looks to Groundlevel to quote for the Parkside Colliery improvement works, and also for quotes and proposals for its Carrington Park site in Manchester and The Wharf in Warrington. We have also submitted a tender to potential new customer, Hurstwood.

Groundlevel’s project team this month completed the stunning property extension and refurbishment to Britannia Gardens in Frodsham, Cheshire. We have also this month been commended by a customer for our exceptional work undertaken to a bathroom renovation project at an apartment development in Warwick.

New instructions continue to come in from our local housing provider, Golden Gates Housing Trust and we are proud to have teams currently working on a number of projects in the Warrington community.

Supporting our local community also extends to delivering grounds maintenance services to the local Parish of St James’ Church, Latchford, where Church Warden Brian Carter has expressed his appreciation of our services:- “At a recent Parochial Church meeting, I explained to the members what your company was proposing to do for our church. This has now been done and everybody is really pleased at the improvement to the exterior of the church building now that the trees have been pruned, the bushes beautifully shaped and the bed really tidied up.”

2013 has been a prosperous year for Groundlevel. Having begun the year planning a period of consolidation; expanding our workforce, adding to our fleet and purchasing new equipment, it wasn’t long before we began to be approached by potential new clients seeking our services as a result of our reputation with existing clients.

The WAPH conference in January saw us expand relationships with the education sector, and we are delighted to have entered into new contracts with schools in and around the North West. Langtree Group this year returned to Groundlevel seeking the service excellence that we had delivered to them previously, and have most recently instructed us on the provision of a new car park and associated landscaping at their Mere One development.

We are delighted to have engaged in a working relationship with our local housing provider, Golden Gates Housing Trust, already having completed ground works, roofing jobs and refurbishment projects in the community, and look forward to further developing this relationship through 2014. We are also proud to be undertaking bathroom installations on behalf of the Bathstore.

RMG Property Management Company awards Groundlevel a substantial refurbishment project on Ampleforth.

Trinity Estates appoints Groundlevel to deliver redecoration services to 5 of their developments in and around the North West.

Proud to be developing our relationship with our local housing provider, Golden Gates Housing Trust, we have been appointed to complete a reconstruction project to one of their properties in Warrington following vehicle crash damage.

Langtree Group instructs Groundlevel on gritting and snow clearance services to their commercial developments for winter 2013 / 14.

We were delighted to attend the Snowball hosted by Brainwave at Mere Grange on 23rd November 2013. This was a fantastic evening which resulted in £10,000 being raised to support the fantastic work that Brainwave does for families of children suffering brain injuries or development delay disorders.

Having established Groundlevel in 1997, Lewis has organically grown the business into a £3m operation with further plans for growth through 2014. Warrington based social housing group Golden Gates Housing Trust turns to Groundlevel ltd, instructing several housing refurbishment works and enhancement projects. We look forward to developing this relationship with our local housing provider to support them in serving the local community.

Langtree group award Groundlevel further improvement works to their ever increasing portfolio with the instruction of landscaping works to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

RMG turn to Groundlevel instructing new contracts for the provision of grounds, cleaning and window cleaning services to their prestigious Westminster Gardens development in Chester.

Groundlevel is extremely proud of Dan Abram who is currently touring Australia with St Helens Rugby League Academy. As well as games and training every day, Dan will also enjoy trips to Sydney’s opera house and harbour bridge, along with scuba diving at Manly beach. Being chosen for this exciting opportunity is a fantastic accolade to Dans talent and determination. We are looking forward to welcoming Dan back to the decorating department and hearing all about his adventure “down under”.

Landscaping and grounds improvement works continued at Cromwell Athletic JFC, and excellent feedback has been received from Connal O’Brien, Managing Director at Eric Wright Facilities Management; “We had our first home match on Saturday and the pitch looked great. Several other people also commented on how good it looked.”

Prestigious Property Management companies RMG and Trinity Estates both look to Groundlevel to add further sites to their portfolio of cleaning and window cleaning contracts. Casserly Homes also engage Groundlevel on a number of their sites in the Manchester area due to consistently high standards of service delivery.

Major building work is underway at Aalborg in Lancaster as Groundlevel work as principal contractors in a major refurbishment project.

It is with great regret that we say goodbye to Peter Burton of our projects department who sadly passed away in August following a short period of illness. Pete was a highly skilled joiner with a fantastic work ethic and a great sense of humour. Having commenced employment with Groundlevel in 2010, Pete was a highly valued, well respected and popular member of the team and will be sorely missed by his friends and colleagues at Groundlevel.

Rathbones in Speke award their grounds maintenance contract to Groundlevel as a direct result of positive recommendation from our client at Langtree. Our cleaning department has secured new business at Liberty Place in Great Sankey for Property Management company, RMG.

As the schools broke for their summer holiday period, Groundlevel quickly got to work, with a full order book in this area of the business. Many local schools returned to Groundlevel with instructions on substantial projects works, including Broomfields Juniors, Heyes Lane Primary School and The Cobbs. The scope of works’ range from resurfacing and paving works, to car park line marking, to the provision of an outdoor classroom and play area.

Orders have also been received from new schools clients including Lowton West for whom we are delighted to be undertaking various external project works, and hope that our quality of work will lead to a developing relationship with these clients.

“From the moment the Groundlevel team of Chris Moore and Matt Wright arrived I was impressed with their attention to detail, ensuring that all carpets in our communal stair were protected. They were very careful in their approach to the works, ensuring that we were kept informed of progress and developments at all times. I was also extremely impressed with the quality of their work.

The team that completed the work in the bathroom, tiling and finishes etc of Rob Haynes and Pete Burton continued to complement our impressions of Groundlevel. Finally on completion of the works, we received very good service from Rob Paton, ensuring that we were satisfied with the works completed and that the very minor snag we had identified was rectified promptly and to our satisfaction and that we understood and agreed with the final invoicing.” Grahame Kirsopp, Site Agent, Morgan Sindall Plc.

Bathstore turns to Groundlevel for several installations in the Chester area. Substantial roof and associated insulation works have been awarded to Groundlevel and have commenced at Pownall Court. Trinity Estates also instructs Groundlevel on several redecoration projects including their Kings Wharf and Holly Court developments.

Bradshaw Lane Primary school awards Groundlevel their lottery funded landscape and playground improvements work, and St Philips Primary in Westbrook instructs Groundlevel on further project works.

We are delighted to welcome Matthew Hesketh to our Projects Department as an apprentice Joiner. Straight out of school, Matthew is embracing working life and building good working relationships with his peers. Matthew commences his studies at Warrington Collegiate Institute in September and we look forward to supporting him in his continued development.

Staff successes in July included our building surveyor, Ryan Hirst graduating at Liverpool Cathedral with an MSc in Commercial Building Surveying, and also Zuzanna Pajtasz in our accounts department successfully passed her AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.

Groundlevel’s summer charity event was a huge success, a great night was had by all, and we were delighted to make a fantastic start to raising funds for Brainwave.

St Philips school in Westbrook awards playground improvement works to Groundlevel, work is being mobilised ready to commence during the summer holiday period.

Heyes Lane primary school also award work to Groundlevel for the supply and installation of a multi-purpose games area. This project is awarded as a result of the high quality of workmanship recently displayed on other work at this school.

Lowton St Mary’s primary school engages with Groundlevel for their Facilities Management building services package, tailored to meet their bespoke requirements.

Groundlevel was extremely proud to support the fantastic Warrington Under 11’s as they were paraded at Twickenham following their recent success.

Premier Estates instruct Groundlevel to install heightened security doors to 25 entrances at their Imperial Gardens development in Tipton.

BALI recommends Groundlevel to two significant landscaping projects demonstrating that the business is a key player within the landscaping industry. Langtree have also instructed Groundlevel in major landscaping projects at their Sky Park and Speke Hall locations.

Several redecoration contracts are awarded to Groundlevel by the prestigious Trinity Estates property management company. Trinity Estates also awards Groundlevel the roof remediation works at their Harper Mill development.

Groundlevel announces its staff Summer Event, to take place on Friday 5th July. The evening will involve a number of fund raising activities to raise money for Groundlevels Charity of the Year, Brainwave.
