Sunday 19 July 2015: The Dandenong Rangers 5 (Mount Dandy Power Plant) (Mount Dandenong)

Did not find it: Searched high and low as this was supposed to be our last find of the day before heading home after 3 hours of hiking.

No luck and no smilie!

Sunday 19 July 2015: Delta Charlie Two – Those Magnificent Men #3 (Montrose)

Found it: Find #350 for Team Roobok. We set off without the girls this morning for a bit of caching after a long hiatus. With locations like this, I'm sure we'll be hunting much more in the future!

We parked nearby and found this one within minutes. We waited for some muggles to pass before grabbing the cache and logging it. (Great hide BTW!) My 9 year old loves a bit of history and it took a while for him to read the plaque but we soon headed off in search of all the nearby caches.

Sunday 19 July 2015: Corhanwarrabul's Magi of the East (Mount Dandenong)

Found it: A short walk from our previous find and no muggles anywhere to be seen.

We quickly grabbed this one, sign it and replaced it in it's simple but effective hiding place.

Sunday 19 July 2015: Reachout and Touch! (Montrose)

Found it: This one took us ages to find! There were kids playing right on GZ so we stopped and enjoyed the view and took some photos while we waited for them to move on. After about 5 minutes, mum got tired of waiting and rounded them all up and set off.

We searched high and low and were about to DNF this when I went back onto the GC.com app on my phone and read the logs only to discover that the container was not the original container! I had already spotted the new container previously but couldn't reach it (fat hands!), so I got my 9 year old to stick his hand in and fish it out!

TFTC and the great views! SL

Sunday 19 July 2015: No Trespassing! (Montrose)

Found it: Find #4 for the day after a short walk from a previous cache. It didn't take long to find after reading the description, but it's a clever little hide.

We picked up the Welsh Dragon TB and moved it on.

TFTC SL

PS: The 'No Trespassing' sign was lying on the ground so I picked it up and propped it back on it's fence but I didn't have anything to fasten it with so the next gust of wind will probably knock it over again.

Sunday 19 July 2015: Dandenongs Meander #11 Animal Tracks (Mt Dandenong)

Found it: Cache #5 for today after a long walk down the hill from a previous cache. This was the perfect spot for a drink of water and to eat something.

We quickly had the cache in hand, signed the log and replaced it.

Dropped off the Welsh Dragon TB

Sunday 19 July 2015: Dandenongs Meander #12 Fireline (Mount Dandenong)

Found it: Find #6 for today and we nearly missed it. We looked in what we thought was the obvious spot and found nothing. I sent my son to look in another 'obvious' spot and he came up empty handed. It looked like a DNF but then I double-checked his work and there it was!

It didn't take long to find and we quickly signed the log and replaced the container.

Monday 13 July 2015: Mr Gap fed to the sharks (The Spit)

Found it: We were just leaving the resort when we decided to check for nearby caches and surprise, surprise there was one really close by!

It took longer to recover than it did to find but we soon had it open, signed and safely replaced.

Thursday 9 July 2015: MBRL - Kinsellas Road Station (Mango Hill)

Found it: After finding a nearby cache, we decided to take a walk to this one. Arriving at GZ, we discovered lots of construction happening and a 'closed to pedestrians' sign, but my 9 year old snuck across and quickly found the cache.

We signed the log and replaced the container back in it's hiding spot.

Thursday 9 July 2015: Reflections by the lake (Mango Hill)

Found it: After a short walk from the nearby parking, we discovered that some clearing of bushland had been done. We were a little confused at first, looking for reflections in the lake.

After taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture, my 9 year old son spotted what we were looking for! Great hide (it was a little exposed).

We signed the log and replaced the cache as snuggly as we could.

Friday 17 April 2015: A Penny for your thoughts (Rubicon)

Found it: Found with my son and his 3 friends whilst camping nearby for the weekend.

Although my son has been out 'treasure' hunting with me before, his friends haven't and they loved the experience. It was very wet after the rains we'd had overnight, including the inside of the cache.

My 8 year old son found it quite quickly but there was no pen to sign the log book, so they improvised using a stick and the inkpad found inside the cache.

Found it: Great cache!

After missing out on finding this one last year while on holiday here, I decided to give it another go this year.

I spent about 5 minutes on my own before half a dozen kids showed up to splash around with me.

Thanks for a great cache!
