VANCOUVER’S MOUNTAIN SKYLINE TO FEATURE THE LARGEST CANADIAN FLAG EVER PRODUCED

. As global attention turns to Canada this summer, Grouse Mountain today unveiled the largest Canadian flag ever produced, creating a powerful new visual landmark visible from across Metro Vancouver.

Spanning approximately the size of two football fields and being installed on The Cut ski run, the record-setting flag represents a bold expression of national pride at a moment when Vancouver is preparing to welcome increased international attention.

“This is a moment designed to be seen not just from the mountain, but from across the city, from the sky, and around the world,” said Adam Rootman, Senior Director of Marketing, Grouse Mountain Resort. “As Vancouver welcomes international visitors, we wanted to put our support behind the home squad in a way that is truly unforgettable. "

The ambitious installation is in partnership with Blast Media Print, who produced the flag and led in securing the record itself. With Guinness Book of World Record adjudication imminent, the installation aims to set a new global benchmark for the largest flag unfurled on a mountain.

The initiative was also made possible with support from Destination Vancouver and Destination BC.

Just 30 minutes from city to summit, Grouse Mountain offers visitors an authentic Canadian experience featuring panoramic views, wildlife encounters, mountain adventures, and unique cultural experiences, all within easy reach of downtown Vancouver. The resort offers a complimentary shuttle service from Canada Place throughout the summer, and to celebrate the summer’s international soccer spirit, fans wearing team jerseys the day before a Vancouver home match will receive 15% off Mountain Admission tickets.

Dirt Over the City Race Series

Race Series. What started years ago with Jam Over the City as part of Grouse Mountain’s event legacy now evolves into its next natural chapter. Built from that same grassroots, community-driven energy, the focus shifts from the terrain park scene into the MTB world with the launch of Dirt Over the City at Grouse Bike Park.

Dirt Over the City is a new grassroots midweek race series launching in 2026 at Grouse Bike Park, bringing together the local riding community — and beyond — for a fun, fast, and progressive race experience high above the city. Backed by heavy hitters in the scene, Comor Sports and Giant Bicycles are stepping in as official sponsors, bringing the heat with stacked prizing and serious support for the series.

The series features three standalone race events, each with its own unique course design. Every course is fully lap-able via the Screaming Eagle chairlift, keeping racing accessible, efficient, and focused on flow, progression, and maximum ride time.

This series is built to:

• Showcase local riding talent and North Shore culture

• Create an inclusive, competitive, and fun race environment

• Support rider progression from intermediate through advanced levels

• Build community through consistent midweek racing

Yoga on the Mountain

Complimentary outdoor yoga sessions on Saturday mornings at The Peak of Vancouver.

Stretch in the sunshine after a hike up the Grouse Grind, or take a leisurely trip on the Blue Grouse Gondola or Skyride to reach the mountaintop. Enjoy a 1-hour complimentary yoga class on Saturday mornings from 9 am-10 am (weather permitting) on the Mountaintop Plaza outside the Peak Chalet. These classes are bound to enhance your physical well-being and kick-start your weekend.

Yoga on the Mountain is complimentary with a Grouse Mountain Annual Pass or Mountain Admission ticket, and yoga mats are provided. Registration is required and will be free online. Registration will open on Wednesday morning each week for that Saturday's session.

About instructor Hannah Sim:

Hannah has always been a lover of movement. She grew up dancing until the age of 20, practicing yoga on the side, and then switched paths as her passion for yoga began to deepen. She began teaching in 2022 and is 500hr RYT Vinyasa and 50hr RYT Yin. Hannah’s playful spirit shines through in her teachings. In her class you can expect powerful feel good flows with mythology and mantra, and sequences that will get out of your mind and into your body.

Join us for a classic spring tradition as costumed skiers and snowboarders attempt to skim the Slush Cup Pond—some make it, some make a splash, all part of the fun.

This year is extra special as we celebrate Grouse Mountain’s 100th year with snow, music, and great community vibes on Peak Flats. Expect prizes, big cheers from the crowd, and plenty of action in the Splash Zone.

Enjoy the BBQ and beer garden throughout the day, then keep it going with après on the Altitudes patio—live DJ, drink specials, and good vibes into the evening.

Event Location: Slush Cup is located on Peak Flats (the bottom of The Peak). Spectators not on skis or a snowboard can access the event by walking along the Snowshoe Grind trail - just follow the signs! Please ensure you are wearing snow appropriate footwear.

Rules & Regulations: Participants must be at least 12 years of age on event day. Participants under the age of 19 must have a parent/legal guardian sign the event waiver on their behalf. Helmets are required to participate in the event. No ski poles allowed in the pond.

What to Bring: Don't forget to wear the most outrageous costume you can find! Participants are strongly encouraged to bring an extra set of warm, dry clothes to change into after the competition.

Bag Check: Bag check will be available for participants at Peak Flats near the check-in area.

Celebrate one of the longest days of the year with the Multi Grouse Grind Challenge presented by CIBC– Centennial Edition! Push your limits at one of the North Shore’s most iconic endurance challenges!

On Monday, June 22nd, 2026, join fellow Grinders from dawn to dusk as you take on the Grouse Grind as many times as you can. Whether you’re chasing a personal best, competing with friends, or supporting a great cause, this is your chance to be part of Grouse Mountain’s Centennial Year legacy while raising vital funds for North Shore Rescue. Your participation helps mark 100 years of adventure, community, and outdoor fun on the mountain.

This is the official and only sanctioned event to determine the record-holder for the most ascents of the Grouse Grind in a single day. With the Blue Grouse Gondola, descending the mountain is quicker and easier than ever — giving you more time for Grinds and a real shot at smashing records at this year’s Multi Grouse Grind Challenge. The current record is 21 Grinds!

Friday, June 12th - Bib pick-up opens. Race bibs can be picked up at Guest Services at the base of the mountain anytime during business hours. Bib must be picked up by the participant themselves (and legal parent/guardian if participant is a minor). If you are traveling into town for the race, please ensure you're arriving in time for Bib Pick-Up.

Sunday, June 21st at 5pm - Bib pick-up closes. Anyone who has not picked up their bib and signed their waiver by this time will not be permitted to participate in the event - no exceptions.

Celebrate 100 Years of Grouse Mountain at The Race from Sea to Summit!.

Join us on Saturday, June 13, 2026 for one of the North Shore's most iconic endurance challenges and be a part of Grouse Mountain's Centennial Year legacy while supporting Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation. This year's Seek the Peak presented by CIBC contributes to celebrating 100 years of history, and your participation helps mark a century of adventure, community, and outdoor adventure at Grouse.

The challenging 16 km course starts by the beach at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver, winds its way through North Vancouver, then heads up the legendary Grouse Grind to The Peak of Vancouver. With an impressive 1,400m of elevation, Seek the Peak will test your fitness, stamina and mental grit.

Take on the challenge solo or enter as a team of 2-4, splitting up the course into four legs. Either way, reaching the top is an achievement worth celebrating! After crossing the finish line, join us at our finish line party featuring DJ, BBQ, recovery zone, plus activities and giveaways from our event sponsors.

As well as age category and fundraising awards, we'll also have special prizing for the Best Centennial Tribute, recognizing participants who creatively celebrate Grouse Mountain's 100-year milestone!

Starting April 10th, join our weekly Training Clinics every Thursday at 6:00 pm. Whether you're new to trail running or preparing to tackle the full course, these guided sessions are a great way to train with others, learn tips from experienced leaders, and stay motivated as you work toward the summit.

The Peak of Vancouver marks 100 years of winter sports with 24 consecutive hours of alpine activities. NORTH VANCOUVER, February 20, 2026 – For the first time since 2019, Grouse Mountain’s iconic 24 Hours of Winter returns as part of its ongoing centennial celebrations. From Saturday, February 28, at 8:30 am through Sunday, March 1, at 9:00 pm, The Peak of Vancouver will be a 24-hour alpine playground.

“Snow sports have been drawing guests to Grouse Mountain for more than 100 years and remain at the heart of the mountain today,” says Emily Leak, Communications Manager, Grouse Mountain Resort. “For a century, guests, families, and friends have gathered at The Peak of Vancouver to ski, snowboard, and create lasting memories. We’re thrilled to honour that legacy with the return of the epic 24 Hours of Winter event, for the first time since 2019, and to bring our community together in celebration of our shared love of winter.”

Grom Series Jam

. The Grom Series Jam is a grassroots event for young snowboarders aged 7-12. It combines the basics of our sport with fun competition, getting participants pumped on the snowboard community and opening them up to all the possibilities boarding can offer. Participants will have the chance to showcase their skills in an afternoon park jam after a morning of freeriding coached by BC Snowboard-certified coaches.

Program Goals: have fun, build confidence, progress, make friends, meet coaches

Skill requirements:

The participant can load and unload the chairlift unassisted
The participant can link heelside and toeside turns

Friday Marks the Start of Ski and Ride Season at Grouse Mountain Resort

The Peak of Vancouver is set to open downhill terrain on December 19, 2025. NORTH VANCOUVER, December 19, 2025 – Grouse Mountain is thrilled to welcome the return of winter, confirming the Resort will open for the 2025/26 season on Friday, December 19, 2025 from noon – 10:00pm.

Paradise and Paradise Jib Park will be accessible to skiers and snowboarders via the Greenway Chair, with the goal of expanding terrain through the weekend. Lift tickets are available now at a reduced rate until additional terrain opens, along with 3-Day+ Pass for multiple days on the slopes. Please check Today on Grouse throughout Winter Break for current operating hours.

“There’s nothing like the energy of opening day, bringing the community of skiers and riders together and celebrating our shared love of the outdoors,” says Grouse Mountain’s Assistant General Manager, Grant Wahl. “Thanks to the hard work of the team behind the scenes, the slopes are ready, and we can’t wait to welcome guests back for another winter, made extra special as we gear up to celebrate Grouse Mountain’s Centennial in 2026.”

This winter’s forecast sees meteorologists predicting a La Niña climate for the 2025/26 season, which typically means more snow on the mountains thanks to lower temperatures and increased precipitation. Grouse Mountain is also trialing a Latitude 90 L60 snowmaking machine, which will complement the expected La Niña winter, and support the Mountain’s existing snowmaking. The L60 is capable of snowmaking regardless of the temperature/weather, even in temperatures up to +20°C, and aims to extend the downhill season so passholders and guests can make the most of ski season.

Beyond skiing and riding, Grouse Mountain has a big year ahead, as 2026 marks its 100-year anniversary. The Centennial celebrations begin with a New Year’s Eve Centennial Kick-Off, followed by a year-long calendar of exciting events, limited-time ticket and pass offers, and special activations highlighting a century of stories at The Peak of Vancouver.

Snowshoe trails are also returning this winter, so guests can embrace the tranquil backdrop of a natural winter wonderland. The Blue Grouse Lake Loop and the Snowshoe Grind to Snag Tree are already open for the season, with the remaining trails projected to open by Friday, December 19 at noon.

The annual festivities supporting Family Services of the North Shore includes Santa’s Workshop, live entertainment, Breakfast with Santa, Christmas movies, and more at Vancouver’s North Pole. NORTH VANCOUVER, November 5, 2025 – Grouse Mountain Resort is thrilled to announce the return of its annual Peak of Christmas from Friday, November 21 – Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Guests are invited to discover holiday magic with a variety of festive activities around the Mountain. Throughout the event, Grouse Mountain is donating all proceeds from Santa photos to Family Services of the North Shore. A limited quantity of tickets and Breakfast with Santa reservations will be available starting today on grousemountain.com.
