When a Woman Gets More by Giving Less

2014-04-01T04:34:00.003-07:00

They say women spend more time thinking about love while men spend more time thinking about sex. In my view, what this says is both genders spend an incredible amount of thought time thinking about love. Sometimes we are thinking about how to get it, and at other times we are thinking of how to give it, or the two in the past. In this article with brief relationship tips, we focus on how to get love as well as how to give love in ways that leave you feeling good about your relationship.

Should I Be Mother and Nanny Or Should I Be Friend and Lover?
When women talk, I sometimes hear two things that are as amusing as they are depressing. I hear women designate their husbands as their ‘first born’ child. I also hear women say plenty of things that suggest the man in their lives is completely inept without them. The first thought, where the man is the supposed ‘first born’ is amusing where it is said as a fond description to show that he needs care and nurture. It quickly degenerates into some kind of slavery when it comes just before, alongside, or immediately after the second idea.
Although the woman is naturally built to nurture, over-nurture of the man to the extent of creating a dependant is seriously mis-placed. Besides this being some type of convoluted means of being controlling, it also drains the woman’s spirit in the long run. To try and be a ‘mother’ to a full grown man with all the perks a child would enjoy is self destructive. A woman is not to be a mother and nanny to her husband or partner. She is to be a friend and lover, and the two are as different as night and day.

When Nurture Becomes Mis-Placed Over-Nurture
With the two ideas, a man is like a child to be nurtured and is incapable of taking care of himself, many women easily move from being lover and friend to over-nurture. How can you identify when your love for your partner is degenerating into over-nurture?

One: when you start to do too much in the relationship, you are standing right in the middle of over-nurture. If you are the one that pays the bills, you drop, pick, prepare the children, pay school fees, manage the household and kitchen budgets, make the money that maintains the household, and then add your time to maintaining that household, you are deep in over-nurture.

Two: when you are constantly on the giving end of the action, you are in over-nurture. When you make his life comfortable, cannot sleep until he gets home (regardless of where he was for the fourth night this week), wake up early, sleep late to make his life sing, even at the expense of your own health and relaxation, you are deep in over-nurture.

Three: when you do all the thinking for both of you. When you are the mind in the home, the one that charts out the present and the future, the one that knows where those resources will come from, the one that spends sleepless nights planning your tomorrow and that of your children. When you are the CEO, supervisor, line officers, support staff, mother and wife in the home, you are in over-nurture.

Establishing Your Position Correctly
Giving too much in a relationship in order to keep it alive is to give too much of your power away. A woman is built to receive, incubate, and help develop a vision for her home and family. You are to receive nurture so that you can be effective in your role as mother and spiritual guide to your family. Giving is what men are supposed to do; receiving is what women are supposed to do. And the reverse is also true.

So what is the demarcation? Women give the seemingly softer gifts of love; appreciation, affection, respect, and loyalty. Men give the seemingly courser gifts; provision, finances, plans, strategy. Together you build a stable whole. Do not cross into your partner’s side of things and do not let him drop his end of things. Strive to get more by giving less. Give less of what he should give to get more of what he should be giving to you. This is one way to a wonderful relationship.

Growing a Business - How to Soar Your Sales In All Seasons

GROWING a business is an undisputed route to better living, but to actually generate the sales to justify your work to be called a business is a task. The truth is, people are always buying and the secret to growing a business is to keep them buying from you when the times are good or bad. Is it possible, you ask?

Have you not seen people who run establishments that get more clients in all seasons? What could be their secret? How is it that they keep the flow of buyer coming in? It does neither you nor your business any good if customers keep buying from your next door neighbor and not from you. Here are four time proven strategies to growing your business and your profits, be it an online or a brick and mortar store.

Believe in perennial supply
Many times we start growing a business with a mind that says there will be times when people will buy and when we cannot get more clients to buy. There is a tiny change in there that separates the constant winners from those that have hard times. The perennial winners know that people always buy; it is only WHAT they buy that shifts.

Let us say for instance you are growing a business that sells ladies shoes (it could be online or offline). As soon as the weather changes for instance, you know that the shoes that sold last season will obviously not be the same shoes in demand in the next season.

Therefore, if you insist on retaining the shoes of the last season, you will lose clients. The secret to perennial supply when growing a business is this: go with the CURRENT needs of your customers.

Be a leader to your customers
People prefer to follow and customers are no different. If you give them too much choice, they get confused and oh, oh! There goes a sale! There are few people who are clear cut about what they really do want when they enter into a shop, or browse a website.

They look at this, and that, and, goodness! I want all of it! But then, they can only spend so much. So how do you help while growing a business? Have a favorite that they can ‘follow’. If you guarantee them that that is the BEST there is, they will follow your lead, decide, and buy.

When Growing a Business Build people towards their desires
The primary outward or hidden drive in all of us is the desire to feel good. Customers will select one product over another or one seller over another because the one supports their need to feel good more than the other. What is the ‘hidden’ feel good reason why people will buy what you are selling?

The key to growing a business and to get more clients is to learn to think like the buyer, not like the seller. Why for example would someone buy your suntan lotion? As one of my favorite authors says, don’t sell the suntan lotion; sell the sun tan and the emotional tag with it. Always sell the benefits because those are what make people buy what they buy. “Look sexy! Get the suntan without the sun burn!” Now that will keep your till going ching ching!

Build relationships as You are Growing a Business
One of my most transformational ‘aha’ moments was in a business development seminar, where the presenter gave statistics to this effect: over sixty percent (60%) of your enquirers will come back and buy depending on how you relate to them. I thought, SIXTY? Yet, think about it…

How many times have you gone into a shop ‘just to inquire’ and ended up going right back there to actually buy? What is it that took you back? They inspired some level of confidence. Online, that principle is even easier to execute to get more clients – take their email contact and follow up with them. Remember, that they came to you in the first place, means they need what you have. Now it is up to you to press the right buttons to confirm the sale and keep growing a business.

2012-03-20T06:15:00.000-07:00

As has been quoted many times by the best and well known mentors of our times, Think and Grow Rich is without debate the greatest success book of all time. As described by Anthony Robbins one of the best known success mentors of our time, the book which was first produced in hard cover and later in soft cover, is without a doubt one of the best manuals for success ever written.

Everyone with their name on the list of the who’s who in our generation, without exception attribute some impact in their success and eventual transformation to this text. They refer to it with respect as one of the carriers of change for generations. Tens of missions of people all over world, and their numbers are not separated by color, race, or creed attest to having experienced life transforming revelations within the pages of this classic manual.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill first published in 1937 has maintained its appeal
across generations and yet continues to be a best-seller that has rarely dropped off the list year after year. Let me hazard a guess; if you are not experiencing great successes in your life in whatever area that is significant to you, then I can almost swear you have not read this book.

Where To Find Information To Learn How To Optimize Your Blog For Search Engines

2012-02-14T14:22:00.000-08:00

Search Engine Optimization, better known as SEO and learning how to optimize your blog for search engines can be rocket science if you are just walking into the blog writing world. I like to say tongue in cheek that all those mathematical oriented kids who wore braces and thick spectacles that we refused to invite into our parties have come back to haunt us. Now we have all grown up, they have become algorithm experts, and enjoy torturing us every day with reminders of how dumb we were in math. Well, I am duly chastised!

That is the bad news! The good news you can learn SEO and how to optimize your blog for search from the outside without having to figure out all the mathematics and algorithms (I still have no idea what that word means). As in all specialized fields there is lingua for the experts and lingua for the layman. If you are more inclined towards words than you are towards figures and numbers, there is still hope for you.

Start by deciding that the internet is a jungle of information and that there is at least one
article, e-book, report or white paper that can help you figure it out by at least 70% which is a reasonable pass. Three companies that have excellent FREE tutorials to show you how to optimize your blog for search come to mind: Google Adwords, Wordtracker, and Ezine Articles.

The trouble with the FREE information is that you have to sift out what is in the information booklets for their own interests as you learn how to optimize your blog for search. I therefore also discovered that people who write ebooks with the sole intention of passing on the knowledge will give you better and easier to follow information. You can then walk through that jungle of rules, dos and don’ts, with relative ease.

How To Make Money Online From Your Blog

2012-01-10T14:06:00.000-08:00

One of the best ways to make money online from your blog and from home is to turn your blog into an income source. The principle is really not very new. If you pick up any hard-copy newspaper or magazine you will find that there is space that is purchased by advertisers to say their piece through the magazine or newspaper.

The only key difference with the online system is that the opportunity to make money online from your blog is much greater because you can start a blog on virtually any topic that catches your fancy. That said, there are two main challenges of starting a blog with the intention of making money from it. The first challenge is that you will need to develop a reading audience. Traffic, as readers are called online, is an important part of the game.

The second challenge is to be actually found by search engines to ensure your blog comes
up when people search whatever you are writing about. The third related challenge is to ensure that your work is written both for search engines and for a human audience. The balance between those two is a skill, and you can develop it with time.

However, as this article is titled, how do you make money online from your blog? I want to suggest two things that you can do to monetize your blog and turn it into a source of income.

1. Sell a service through your writing:

You can make money online from your blog by developing a category where you sell a specific service to an audience that is relevant to what you can do. To give my own example, I write articles for freelance writers and authors because I am a writer both by training and by pleasure. I can tell you, just from the articles on writing on this blog, I have earned many a dollars.

Think through what you are good at, that may be totally unrelated to what you set out to write about and turn that into a series of articles. For instance, when I started a blog, my intention was to speak about Personal Development because that is an area I am very passionate about. Then I discovered there was a market for writers and added it here.

2. Affiliate marketing:

The products that are up for affiliate marketing through which you can make money online from your blog are almost limitless. The basic principle of affiliate marketing is you earn a percentage of the sale on any sale you generate. Affiliate opportunities are of two types: those that need very little input from you, and those that require more effort from you to make you money.

Pay per click advertising , text link advertising , and contextual ads are three that need little input from you. All you need to do is get the information from the company, plaster it on your blog and be on your way. Will you start to immediately make money online from your blog this way? Yes! Good money? Highly unlikely unless you have serious numbers reading you daily already.

Specifically promoting products will require a lot more of your effort, but it will likely earn you some reasonable amounts even if you do not have incredible numbers in traffic. The main thing there is persistence and clear knowledge of what you are doing.

When I first came into the blogging and online money world, I was as newbie as any newbie ever was, and I was super broke. So basically I needed companies that would do two things for me; train me for free, allow me to join their program for free, and not require me to have high ratings. With that criterion in hand I have encountered many, but my best two over time have remained:

1. The Google Affiliate Network
2. Triple Clicks Marketing

From either one of these you can select what you want to promote from their database, put in some code on your blog, throw around more content on the internet favoring these products and you will make money online using your blog.

There are over 29,000 products in the triple clicks shop and there is no way someone will go there and fail to find a product they want to purchase. Personally, that is not what wows me; what completely amazes me is the pricing of products for members.

I mean, this was the first place I saw an online product going for 5$ and giving me stuff worth 150$ (this is my my experience but please note the prices vary per item). It was so unbelievable, I went and bought another – just to be sure it was for real, (tickle).

Five Top Decisions To Make Before Signing Up For The SFI Business Opportunity

2010-12-14T06:13:00.000-08:00

The SFI business opportunity is not for everyone. It is primarily for individuals who wish to earn an extra or primary stream of income by growing an online or offline business. For that reason, you can tell not everyone will fit in the SFI business opportunity, and not everyone will grow a business of the same size at SFI.

However, everyone that has taken a decision to build their own successful business, no matter what size of income they wish to achieve can do it. It is simple to follow, once you get the hang of the information packed site. There are tools to help everyone grow regardless of your business building budget; from free to spend money to make money budgets.

In my experience, those that join SFI having decided on the top five biggie factors that I list here, cant help but make money with SFI business opportunity. Here are five decisions that you must make before joining. They will help you build a successful business with the SFI business opportunity:

1. Decide that the SFI business opportunity is YOUR business.
Though I am available to answer questions from my team, I cannot be there all of the time, and neither can I make decisions for them.

However, if you join SFI business opportunity as your thing, you will initiate your growth plan and that way it will be easier for me to help you achieve your goals.

One of the first things I recommend that you do after joining the SFI business opportunity is to fill in your goals page.

That action alone has two primary benefits:

a) It causes you to actively decide what you wish to achieve. The minute you decide, you will find that doors will start to open that you never knew existed.
b) It will help me as your sponsor (if you choose to send it to me – which I would encourage) to help you plan your growth strategy. Remember, I am a small business coach and therefore I can only help you grow according to your goals not mine.

2. Decide to grow whether with or without your Sponsor's support.
Why is that important? The SFI business opportunity has at least 7possible options (that I know of at the time of writing this) to link up with other affiliates within its system. That means in the absence of your sponsor you cannot fail to find someone who will answer your question.

I know for certainty, no sponsor can guarantee to be there for you all of the time, but you can be there for your business all of the time and make it work if you decide that it is your endeavor.

3. Commit two hours daily to learn how to make money:
Decide to commit at least two to three hours everyday for the first six months to do nothing but to learn, promote and develop new ways of making money on the SFI business opportunity platform.

I have found that my understanding of how to make money on the SFI business opportunity platform multiplied exponentially when I started to hang out at the site for about two to three hours daily. Things that were Greek before suddenly became very clear.

This calls for a lot of internet time. If you cannot make that kind of time online, you will find that your growth will slow down considerably. After six months, the business will largely be running itself, and you can then reduce (or increase) the time as you see best.

4. Commit an hour daily to familiarize with the SFI website
Choose to commit at least an hour online to read, understand, and internalize the information on the SFI website.

How is that different from the previous point, the earlier is to decide to find new ways to grow your business – how you make money.

This is an hour to learn how the SFI business opportunity platform operates so that you can help your team to find their way around the site. It will enable you to be a better sponsor for your team because your teams' growth starts with you. If you are lost, your team will be lost too and that means they cannot grow, and you cannot make money.

The SFI website is one of the heaviest information websites I have encountered online. It is packed with pages upon pages of ways to market online and offline, ways to build money making websites and drive traffic to them, not to mention the 29,000 plus possible products that you can choose from to sell either online or offline. You do not navigate around those on the fly. Hang around and you will figure out what happens.

5. Decide on your money goals as quickly as possible.
Though there are several goals you can make on the SFI business opportunity platform, it is primarily a vehicle to making money. The minute you have your money goals set out, you are in a position to look around and decide, what can get me there fastest. You will find, as soon as you sign up for membership, there are umpteen routes that you can use to get to your money goal.

Ten Practical Steps to Starting Your Own Business – Part One

2010-12-13T01:40:00.000-08:00

If you have some capital and you are wondering about what to do with the money in order to a) make more money, and b) not lose the money, and c) work in a business that will consistently give you more money, then here are ten practical steps.

1. Do not be in a hurry to start anything simply on the recommendation of a friend or family member. Most of them will be more interested in the money than in you, and most do not have a successful business themselves so they are only selling you theory.

2. Understand the rules of the business. To succeed in ANY business takes a fair amount of learning to flow in the way that industry works. All businesses are tailored along specific rules; the less you know of the rules of a business, the more money you lose.

3. Give yourself time to do research and enter into the industry that you can understand with the least effort. If you have an accounting background, go into the area of business that will utilize those skills naturally, but be open to learn other areas such as marketing and human behavior. The best you can do for yourself is to invest a year in targeted business research. Meanwhile…

4. Turn the money you have into an asset as you are doing your research.

Sounds silly, but here is the fact. As the cash holder, an asset is anything that brings you money. If you have cash on you and it is not bringing you money, it is not an asset to you, but it is probably an asset to your banker who will charge you a fee to store the cash in their bank.

Therefore how do you turn your cash into an asset? Give it to someone who is in the money market, who makes money daily in the money market, and charge them with the work of making you money.
------------------
Ten Practical Steps in Summary
1. Do not be in a hurry to start
2. Understand the rules of the business.
3. Give yourself time to do research
4. Turn the money you have into an asset
5. Enter a miniscule percentage to a low risk, high training enterprise
6. Find what you are passionate about
7. Find the unique aspect of the problem you will solve
8. Develop a business and marketing plan with a professional
9. Start your business small
10. Keep learning, keep revising your plans, keep growing.
--------------------
Who are in the money market?
i) A professional stock broker is in the business of stocks and shares, and can make you money can do that for you. That way, your banker is not making money while you lose money.
ii) A professional in the Forex markets can do that too (basically they are in the money market of selling currencies). Always make sure you research their background, and read their agreement. If you lose money when they make money – run! Meaning, if they always earn a commission whether or not they make you money, run!

5. Enter a miniscule percentage of your money into a low risk, high intensive training enterprise where you can learn a profound amount of things about the business world. If you can do this part time, the better. In my experience, there is no better 'almost free' training ground for business than in the world of Multi-tier marketing.

6. Meanwhile… as you are learning the world of business part time, look around you keenly to find what you are passionate about.

Successful business is who you are; a business follows the character of the individual. That is a difficult concept but a true one nonetheless.

A successful business, besides understanding its rules, grows better when you work in your area of passion. How do you find your area of passion? Watch the things that annoy or irritate you.

The reason things irritate you is because you have an answer within you. The reason a man can develop a business around mobile toilets and succeed is because within him is a genuine distaste for filth. It then becomes easy for him to see solutions to the problem. In short – all successful and long lasting businesses are those that give an answer to an existing human problem.

To start a kiosk simply because it is the in-thing will not make you money – it will lose you money.

7. Work out the unique aspect of the problem you wish to solve and reason out the best way to get that message to your possible consumers.

8. Get a professional to map out a business plan complete with a marketing proposal and the potential consumer base. Note, by this time, you have already made more than what you had at the start; you are earning money in Stocks or Forex, and in multi-tier marketing; and you have gathered loads of very targeted knowledge and information. Based on that plan…

9. Start your business small. Avoid large expenses on anything that does not make you money such as office space, furniture, vehicles, and staff. If you can start in your bedroom, the better.

10. Keep learning, keep revising your plans, keep growing. You will have given your business a sound footing and you are guaranteed to win because you have the twin power keys to successful business; passion and knowledge.

I wish you success.

Natural Can Be The Simplest and Cheapest Way to Stay Healthy

2010-12-11T09:44:00.000-08:00

There is a lot that is said about health and being healthy on earth. The health industry is in fact the second largest industry after entertainment. Apparently after people stop laughing, they realize they are at risk of not enjoying the laughter long enough if they die, and so they think about their health.

I had my first encounter with weight about seven years ago. It took me two years to grow from a tall slim girl to a tall plus-size girl. I make a joke often that it took many hours of eating wrong to get there. After two years of working hard at killing myself with a spoon, I started the equally hard work of regaining my health through a spoon. I have been on both sides of the divide between healthy and not so healthy and I think I can add my voice to the matter with a degree of authority.

There is, as far as I am concerned, a very easy formula for maintaining healthy. Since I like to be happy, I like to make the thought of being healthy fun. Therefore, I take one animal whose health and physique I admire and I emulate its eating habits and its routine workout habits and
make those a part of my life pattern too. My number one choice is the giraffe because I am tall and so is the giraffe.

The giraffe is a healthy animal. Watch it stride along with strong firm muscles rippling in all the right places. It has not an ounce of flab – not a hint of blubber, but rather a fine glowing skin with a healthy sheen of natural color. Confidence oozes from within its innermost being, its stride says it is confident of its place on the earth. Oh goodness, I want to be like the giraffe. So what's its secret?

• Eat clean veggies. The giraffe eats only from the upper branches and so it get to eat only the leaves and fruits cleaned off by the wind and the rain. No junk additives for this beauty. No junk additives to my veggies either. I eat them fresh or lightly steamed thank you.

• The giraffe stays away from lazy all day long. It will walk long distances to find the very best vegetation. That works for me too. Well, I can't walk to look for food, but I can walk as part of my exercise habit. Since I do not like walking (and I am the human here) I walk aerobics. I love the music bit and it keeps me in shape.

• The giraffe loves to drink water. That works for me too. Water is life, I love life, and therefore I will keep drinking water. I will not drink 'soda' and pretend it is water, I will not drink 'tea' and pretend it is water, I will not take any other beverage and try and make it pass as 'water'. No! I will drink clear, plain, natural, with not a hint of flavor at all – water! When I drink tea, I know its tea, but when I drink water, I will be honest enough with myself to make sure it is water that I am taking.

What is the best part of these three simple additions to my health plan? I love the fact that I enjoy loads of energy to achieve my goals, and that I generally feel very good and confident from deep within – just like the giraffe.

The Health Benefits of Fruit and Vegetables

2010-12-10T10:57:00.000-08:00

By: Georgina Cundall

Eating fruits and vegetables is one of the best ways to maintain good health. Fruits and vegetables are an important part of a healthy diet. They contain vitamins, phytochemicals, and minerals that can protect your body from diseases like diabetes, cancers, and heart diseases. Ideally, you should consume five kinds of vegetables and two kinds of fruits each day.

Fruits and vegetables are essential components of your daily diet. Some contain natural antioxidants that can help to keep you healthy and fit, providing nutrients which are valuable resources of energy and sustaining the quality of your life.

The common vitamins present in fruits and vegetables include vitamin A, vitamin C, folate and potassium. Almost all fruits and vegetables are low in fat and calories. Many are excellent sources of natural fiber.

Some health professionals recommend from five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables. The serving depends on your daily caloric intake. If you need around 2000 calories each day, you might need up to nine servings of fruits and vegetables each day.

You should get best results if you consume a variety of fruits and vegetables. Eating a single type or color of fruit and vegetable may not offer the required nutrition. Each type and color of fruit or vegetable that is generally available has some benefit.

To get the best nutrients from your fruits and vegetables, eat those which are in season in your region. Fresh produce has the best levels of the nutrients we may need during the season.

If you eat out-of-season fruits and vegetables, their nutrient value might be less, they will probably cost more and their production and transportation may have a greater financial and environmental cost.

Your diet has a critical role in defining your health and energy levels which affects every other part of your life. The fruits and vegetables you consume regularly are a powerful storehouse of beneficial, even vital, vitamins and nutrients which help out body to protect itself against many diseases and other negative factors in our environment.

Different fruits and vegetables offer varied benefits for your health.

Vegetables that are said to be high in antioxidants and nutrients include broccoli, asparagus, brussels sprouts, beets, carrots, onions, cauliflower, red peppers, squash, tomatoes, and garlic.

Fruits that some say are high in antioxidants and nutrients include apples, blueberries, apricots, bananas, cherries, cantaloupe, oranges, kiwifruits, peaches, and pink grapefruits.

Nutrients of Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and vegetables contain many different varieties of nutrients. Some fruits and vegetables are a virtual storehouse of beneficial minerals like anthocyanins, resveratrol, lycopene, and more phytochemicals are being found as research into the fruits and vegetables is conducted.

Phytochemicals

These plant nutrients help sustain your body against the worst ravages of the aging process and may help to reduce health risks like heart ailments, high blood pressure and cholesterol.

Some of the phytochemicals include:

Anthocyanins, available in blackberries, blueberries, cherries, eggplant, plums, and kiwi fruit are claimed by some to have important properties that may help reduce the occurrence of severity of some urinary tract infections.

Lycopene, available in watermelon, tomatoes, and pink grapefruit.

Resveratrol is available in red grapes and peanuts. CAUTION: more people are finding they may have an allergic reaction to peanuts every year

Suggested Servings of Fruit and Vegetables

People are often confused about the quantity indicated by a single serving or a cup.

Ideally, one cup refers to:

Vegetables

2 cups raw leafy vegetables

1 cup raw or cooked vegetables

1 cup baby carrots or approximately twelve carrots

1 cup cooked or canned dried beans or peas

1 medium potato

1 cup vegetable juice

Fruits

1 cup cut-up or cooked fruit

1 medium piece of fruit

1 large banana

1/2 cup dried fruit

1/4 small cantaloupe

1 cup berries or grapes

1 cup 100% fruit juice

A great e-book is focused on showing you the benefits which are claimed for adding more vegetables and fruit to your diet and broadening the choices which you know about. It will also give you a variety of tasty and nutritious recipes toward the end of the book.

Georgina Cundall

Georgina Cundall started to learn about the benefits of adding more fruit and vegetables to her diet when she had some minor health problems.

She was also starting to worry about how she could give her young children a healthier range of foods on a very limited budget.

An additional problem was finding things which the children would actually choose when she wasn’t around to supervise.

She discussed this with friends and found her concerns were widely shared, so she decided to put what she found into this book so that other people, especially women with a job and a young family, could benefit from her tips.

Georgina tried many things over the last couple of years and believes that almost everyone will find value in her suggestions in this book, whatever their situation.

Is A Company That Asks You To Pay To Work For Them Genuine?

2010-12-08T08:27:00.000-08:00

When looking for an online Home Business opportunity, you want the fakes revealed. I don’t know about you, but I am a skeptic on the internet. The one thing that I am incurably skeptical and suspicious about is online work from home businesses. I have a theory about them. You see, when this brand of business first started, some ten or maybe five years ago (actually I think ten is more accurate), we knew very little about the internet. The internet then was the play field of all those unpopular kids in school that wore glasses for spectacles (because the lenses were so thick we mockingly described them as glass), and had braces for as long as we could remember them.

Now they were having the last laugh because they beat us all by grades, not just a grade, in math, and were going on unchecked to take over our lives by introducing a queer looking machine created by their queer abilities to do strange things with figures and calling it DOS. Yeah! You remember those days of the black screen and green text boxes! Yetch! Computers then were ugly; the same word we had used on their creators for years. Oh yes! They were having the last laugh.

A few of them, I think, were actually angry at the world and made a vow to make us all pay for the years they felt left out and unloved. The really nutty crew came up with viruses and all things that crash your computer, and the not so angry ones, those we had occasionally sneaked into our family parties saying peer ridicule be damned, came up with work from home business and called them typing work from home business.

Many of those were frauds, and I still think many are frauds today. I am not certain, but I like to use my own 'Paula Litmus' on any work from home business or online work from home opportunity in a simple way. Here is Paula logic; what company worth the ink used to write its name would ask me to pay to work for them?

For starters, if I am paying, then it means I am the piper and they ought to sing my tune. Secondly, if I am paying, why on earth are they getting a cut out of that which I have paid to do? It works for me in the brick and mortar world and it works for me online.

I live in a country with a pretty high corruption index on the world map. Here, we know an officer is fraudulent when they ask for an amount of money upfront to help you get a job. To me, the same rule applies. When I was looking for online freelance outsourcing portals, I encountered one that was charging the freelancers, (and it was a shameless subscription though I forget whether it was annual or monthly). Are you nuts? Where on earth do you charge the worker? It means as long as I am paying your bugger subscription, you can create non-existent employers who will never hire me! I quickly moved on to the next outsourcing company, and their name is all over this site, because their offer was genuine.

If you want to join Paula Logic in assessing the authenticity of a work from home opportunity, please feel welcome. As long as a company is charging the worker to do their sales as in pay to become their affiliate, pay to type, fill adverts, read adverts (another crazy scam), write adverts or pay to give whatever other service, I stay clear off them. Case closed!

Relationships – The One Place Where It Is Crucial To Have Fun

2010-12-06T13:37:00.000-08:00

101 romantic ideas can right well save your marriage. It is fascinating the number of people I meet with in my generation and in the next (anywhere from 35 to 55 years) that are either in a horrible relationship patch, going through a divorce or just been through one, or are terribly bored in their relationship.

Though I am absolutely compassionate about some of the things people do go through in relationships, there is a strong sense of boredom that spews from a notable number of stories building up to marital trouble that makes me think 'well, if I was in that one I would have an affair too! Yikes! Loosen up!'

Here is the thing, if you cannot have fun with the one person you either intend to spend the rest of
your life with, or the person you 'OMG' vowed before many witnesses including your parents to spend the rest of your life with, then who in the world can you have fun with? Bottom line is relationships, whether they are marriage, dating or 'going-to-marry-you' courtship is an important place to integrate fun.

It's frightening the way this generation trivializes marriage break-ups. There is a lot on various mass media outlets that gives the impression that if marriage isn’t working, step out of it at the drop of a hat. Those programs rarely tell us the other side of it. Divorce, unfaithfulness, and a dysfunctional relationship cause so much pain – ask a child from a home of divorced parents. I also dare to gently add; ask America (don’t stone the messenger…)

The thing is, just as friendships do not suddenly become fun unless you work on them, your relationship with that special other will not create itself like a genie unless you work at it.

One of my best ebooks on how to spice up your relationship is 101 Romantic Ideas by Michael Webb. Now whereas it gives some ideas that are simply hilarious, it has a good many nuggets in there. The best part of this ebook is that it is 100% free.

A Home Business Where You Get Paid In Your Country

2010-12-02T12:00:00.000-08:00

If you are in a less developed nation like I am, and you have concerns about how will get paid, then the SFI home business is for you. In my search for a business where I would get paid right at home, I realized that many online work and home based businesses are tailored to work for people with credit cards, people who are in the EU and people who pay their taxes to the IRS. That meant that no matter how hard I worked, I would need to search for other legal ways to circumvent their systems to get my money into the country. With the SFI home business, you do not need to waste days and weeks to find a way to get money into your country of residence.

When I first started looking for work from home jobs and home business opportunities online, my first stop was to work as a freelance writer. If you would like to pursue that line, and it has it benefits, I give the link to a legitimate company below.
-----------------
Want to work as a freelancer?
I recommend Elance. I do not suggest that getting a job on Elance is a walk in the park, but you will find that they are a mature site with great rules and even better customer services. I recommend them wholeheartedly. If you would like to learn more about their service, click on the name link: Elance
---------------
My search for a legitimate work from home opportunity opened me up to some heavy incidences of discrimination along nationality lines that ensured I could not get paid camouflaged in the phrase 'different country laws' or some such other not-so-clever wording. The worst one for me in my freelance work was with a well known online merchant (who I will not name for it adds no value). Here are their rules (generally as I see them); you can work as a freelancer in the US or in the EU, you can get money through us, but you cannot withdraw and get money into your country through us, but hey – we'll be happy to help you spend it right here in the US.

How is that for crappy? I wasn’t working to pay my bills in the US, and last time I checked I could not pay my landlord with gizmos bought online as currency. Hallo! If the company had started business last year, that 'different country laws' blah would wash, but they've been in business for years. Besides, if I can pay from my country, how is it suddenly impossible to give me my money via the same route?

Anyway, when I made up my mind that I wanted to add a home business portfolio to being a professional ghostwriter, I knew a major criteria for my choice would be if I can get paid in my country. Therefore, after enrolling in the SFI home business for free, my next stop on their site was their payment policy page. Besides, if I was going to promote their products (which are pretty awesome by the way) I wanted a business that allowed everyone on my team to get money whatever their geographical location. I was excited to learn that the SFI Debit Card works internationally. You get paid on it, and walk over to your local ATM and collect cash in your currency. How cool is that!

There are other ways to get money too, but that to me was very significant.

How to be a Self Employed Affiliate and Make an Online Income

2010-12-01T11:54:00.000-08:00

Why become an affiliate of any program online? Allow me to share why being self employed I chose to become an affiliate and make an online income through the SFI home business. First, I decided to be self employed because I believe a mother should have as much time as possible with their child in their formative years. The only way I could achieve that was to work from home and be self employed. Secondly, I did not wish to be a woman who wholly depends on her significant other financially; I wanted to earn money that I could be in charge of – and I think that is a noble desire.

Thirdly, I wanted to tap into the incredible opportunity that the internet avails to women like me to make an online income utilizing their intellectual prowess outside of the male dominated world of brick and mortar business. After I added ghostwriting to my list of things to do a couple of months ago, this need flew to the fore; though ghostwriting does earn me a decent online income, it still bound me to making money when I was present and available.

---------------

The thought of being self employed with leveraged income was a much better idea. If then I could combine being self employed, leverage and all that in an online affiliate program, that would be ideal.

My thoughts were running along those lines as I was hunting for an affiliate program that I would work with. My first stop was the affiliate programs aligned to products that I have used before because I could promote those with confidence. However, I still wanted that leveraged online income bit. When I encountered the SFI home business which is an affiliate program, I felt like a traveler who had reached their destination.

First, though 'free to join' programs are said to be a mark of a scam, I also know that many scams that are sold as 'free' are not free at all. The minute you give them your email address, the next thing you get in your email is a blow hot blow cold sales letter asking you to pay so much to get all the wonderful benefits. There are no 'free' scams; for where would the scam be if it were free? I therefore filled in their starter form and waited. All I got was a full month free training course and not once did they arm twist me with a 'buy or nothing' type of email. Now that caught my attention.

Secondly, in my assessment, the internet is the perfect place to sell the 'buy this and be rich tonight' genre of ineffective products. I wanted an affiliate program that allowed me to hang out with them, with no obligations asked of me so that I could figure out what they were selling and were they genuine products that I could honestly promote. The SFI home business gave me exactly that.

So was it a scam? No they are not! However, who would say they were a scam if they were really a scam? I therefore give you the link at the end of this article to the Better Business Bureau which is a regulatory body among those that register genuine businesses. Test the legitimacy of the SFI home business on the Better Business Bureau site and confirm for yourself that this is a legitimate business offer. I also give you a link to an independent article with several more links where you can test the SFI home business for yourself.

I would love for you to work with me to build your own online income with the SFI home business, but I prefer that you join my 'Income with a Mission' team from the point of trust and full confidence. In the world of online income offers that is an important matter to ascertain. I have several more posts here, some that describe the SFI home business in more detail, and I will keep adding more.

Meanwhile, would you like to start building your own online income stream for free as an SFI affiliate today? Then I also give you the link to start. It is completely free to join, and you will immediately start to learn what to do to be profitably self employed as an SFI affiliate.

Bookmark this site so that you can return here often for more information. Also, you are welcome to join the SFI home business in my team. Why have I repeated that? Think mentorship; this is about building a business and trust me, you will need someone to walk with you to shorten your learning curve and speed you up to making your affiliate online income as fast as possible.

Of youthfulness and the pseudo-unlikelihood of disease

2010-11-16T22:04:00.000-08:00

It's always fun to create a does-not-exist word like 'pseudo-unlikelihood' and then go ahead to seriously explain it – which is what I am just about to do. Lol…
Well, I am sure you know the meaning of pseudo; it is a prefix used to identify that something has the appearance of another thing, but it is not really the real one. Like a pseudo-Rolex would be a contraband Rolex looking like a Rolex but it is far from being a Rolex.
Unlikelihood of course you also know is the absence of possibility. Now pseudo-unlikelihood in that heading refers to the fake appearance of everlasting health that the youth walk in. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 28, does not have a child, has never had a serious medical condition all through childhood – other than the panic causing measles that breaks out in schools occasionally - can live comfortably in this pseudo-unlikelihood of disease for close to a decade before trouble starts.
This person believes that they have never been sick and so 'they will never be sick'. That is the error; they are deceived by the everlasting appearance of health and they ignorantly believe disease will never catch up with them.
The trouble with that blissful ignorance is that disease and ill health do not happen one early morning on your way from the shower. Ill health happens one day at a time for years; actually one book I read said seven years.
Here is how it works; most parents are keen to feed their children on healthy stuff including in their diet vegetables, fruits and plenty of water. You continue on a fairly nutritious diet all through to the time you leave your parents house. You are now responsible for your own diet and this is what many people do – they tell themselves that as bachelors or spinsters they cannot be bothered with the hassles of cooking. They slip into eating junk food.
Within a few years short of a decade, you have taken all the reserves of health out of your cells and you are now open to all sorts of attacks. Then we say disease begins at about thirty.
It does not need to. Train yourself to eat healthy only today and each day and you will keep healthy for far much longer. It is that simple.
Disease is like a clock ticking a minute at a time. You are either moving towards disease every day or walking towards health - like a clock ticking, ticking, ticking...

That was Then… a Short While Before I Found Companionship With a Worm

2010-11-12T14:12:00.000-08:00

I'd been along this little path for months now. It crossed from the backdoor to the tap outside where there was the one tap of water. I trudged along it daily either grumbling within or stressing about one thing or another. If it wasn’t a misplaced item, it was a word said too soon. I never failed to have something to stress about.

Stressing was quickly turning into my natural state of being – my proclivity – and I was yet to realize just how dangerous that proclivity was to me. It wasn’t as though I had not heard it all before; I knew the script by heart. Give thanks in all circumstances. Always keep a thankful heart. But how could I keep a thankful heart in these circumstances? How could I keep a thankful heart when I was virtually homeless?

Virtually?

Did I say virtually?

What a load of BS!

I was homeless – there was no other way to describe my situation other than that, and I was mad – mad as in as angry as a loser.

I was angry at everything and everyone. They did not understand me, they did not feel me, they did not care that I was burning inside with pure uninhibited wrath at the world, at myself for allowing my fall, and at all the circumstances that had brought me down to my knees crawling to this point.

So once more, on the corridor outside the home where I was homeless (yes I was homeless in a home full of people), I crossed the window and casually glanced at the worm that I had noticed there the day before.

But this time, Kipepeo was there on the wall facing down toward the ground, rather than upwards towards the ceiling. And Kipepeo was still – very still for a bug, and very still for a living thing anyway. And that stillness is what caught my attention.

You see, when you are distraught, and full of anger, and filled to overflowing with pain and misery – quiet easily gets to you. It tickles something in you; something you wish you had but cannot find. I looked at Kipepeo again, and quietly mused, 'why would a bug be so quiet?' And then still thinking along those lines, I passed on my way.

Three days later, the answer came, for Kipepeo was no longer just a bug lying on the side on the window facing a 'wrong direction' – down instead of up - he had started to form the cocoon that would encase him for a season.

Encase him, entrap him, and make sure he cannot move up or down. Kipepeo was losing his freedom. Suddenly I felt him from the deepest part of my soul – I understood this little creature's journey. He was going to be entrapped and enslaved to his journey – a journey he could no more resist nor turn away from. Yet in this journey lay his freedom.

It was a paradox; in his loss of freedom lay his eminent gain of unlimited freedom. Within me came a flood of kindred recognition. In that little bug I found 'someone' or 'something' that sincerely understood where I was.

The dam of tears that I had held back for two long years burst. I cried the tears of the shame, the pain and the agony over all the events that had brought me here – the point where I was homeless.

A few weeks ago, I gave myself a new task that is taking up a huge chunk of my time. Now, as every true blogger will testify, managing a blog and keeping it up to date can be a task on its own.

Now, I have a number of blogs; one severely Kenyan for fresh graduates looking for jobs in Kenya, and another related to the first that has short tips. The events I go through daily trigger those entries because the job scene in Kenya is interesting. Then there is this one; my true love which makes my days come alive. Handling three blogs, and keeping up with other work stuff in the course of my day is quite the life.

That did not stop me from adding another job to my day, namely freelance writing. If my day was busy before, now it is teeming. I love freelance work – it not only gives me the joy of interacting with all sorts of amazing new people and topics, but it keeps my mind grounded on the fact that I am a publishing girl at heart much as I love personal development.
Suddenly the minutes have become more important. Here are a few tips of what I am doing to make sure I achieve my outcome of each day.

1. At the end of each day, I will pause to think through what I will work on the following day, then I write those down in no order of importance – just things to do tomorrow. I love that; I have always had a TTD list, but now I have a TTDT list and I have happily chosen to keep the last 'T' out, so I still have a TTD list. Lol… I am just happy like that.

2. Then I let go of it all, close my work desk, and off I go to sort out other personal issues – like eating and having another one of those mind boggling 'why is life like this' talks with my significant other.

3. In the morning, I take 30 minutes to just visualise what I want my day to be like. I see myself completing each of my assigned tasks feeling happy to send it out on time.

4. First thing as I sit at my desk, I start by doing all the routine things that must get done. Check my mail is one of those; it has gained value for me because now I am working with people from different time zones. Goodness, there is a lady I am working with who is in Canada; she is a whopping seven hours behind me. I mean when I am nice and snoring, she is sending me serious emails like that. Spooky!

5. Once those are complete, I take up my TTD list of last night and turn it into my TTD list of the day. Then I launch on the most difficult task on that list first. Why? Because I have realised that if I can get the hardest task done early, the other one's flow like water.

Important point to note; I start my day with 'seeing my work complete' and it is rare that I end the day with an incomplete task. Now here is the really cool part; I end my day on a great sense of personal achievement. That alone makes everyday worth living.

Why does that bit of visualisation work so well? Because life is first lived in the mind and then lived in reality.

Have an empowered and task accomplishing day.
