We wrap up our Growing Minds week with some classic films that feature the iconic teacher.

Saturday Night at the Movies presents two films about teachers who had a profound influence on the lives of their students.

To Sir with Love (1967) stars Sydney Poitier as a high school teacher charged with bringing discipline to an unruly class. And The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969) stars Maggie Smith as a liberated school teacher who prefers to teach her students about love, politics and art.

How do you feel about alternative schools? Should Ontario provide this option to parents and students? Tune in tonight at 8pm as The Agenda with Steve Paikin tackles the debate on alternative schools.

If you missed The Secret Life of the Classroom catch it tonight at 9 pm. This film follows a reception class at Moorlands Infant School in Bath to see what the first year at school is really like through the children’s eyes.

The series, Chinese School wraps up with part five at 10 pm. In this dramatic conclusion, the middle school holds a celebratory talent contest. But this year the town is faced with treacherous snow and ice storms and for many pupils, the treasured promise of seeing their parents is in jeopardy.

Tonight at 7pm, the series Make Your Child Brilliant continues to look at unlocking gifted children’s talents. From a shortlist of five talented kids, educational researcher, Bernadette Tynan chooses to work with Connor, a creative boy with a short attention span.

Our special programming week starts off with a social experiment in which modern-day 16-year-olds attend fictional 'King's School' where they experience a British 1950s-style education, exams and school life. That Taught ‘Em at 7 pm gets to the heart of the debate about educational standards over the last 50 years.

Following that, The Secret Life of the Classroom at 8 pm takes a look at a reception class at Moorlands Infant School in Bath to see what the first year at school is really like through the children’s eyes.

In the drama, Ahead of the Class at 9 pm a headmaster is brought out of retirement to face her greatest challenge - to save an inner-city school and its students.
