"I did not eat dinner, yer ole ape. I went for a walk and ran into some nutty dinos and humans.

They had signs saying that they did not like Thanksgiving and they were yelling stuff..like .anyone who would eat a turkey would eat a person ."

Before you vote, research and get the facts and the Record.

Pols will say anything to win and they may, in some few cases, even mean it. But the question THEN is "Can they do it?"

In our system a pol has to have the ability to persuade people to support him/her. That is gotten two ways, well more than two,but only two ways we speak of. He/she can, using personal talks, convince other pols or have his/her voters call or write saying support this or lose my vote.

So you want a pol in office who will agree with most of your views and one who has the ability to put those views forward and ONLY the past record can be depended on.

For 40 years I believed the"two major parties fighting for the soul of America" theory and I was, mostly since Goldwater, a GOP sort on dealing with commies but I supported some social programs.

But a few years ago I woke up. Guess you could say I am awake.

I saw a photo of the Bushes and the Clintions going to Mandela's funeral, Just a group of good friends smiling over some art of George Bush..Now if you consider what BOTH said of each other and their families, they should have been at dagger points. Yet, here they were just good old boys and girls, good friends.

I must say if someone spoke of me or my family as the Clintions did of the Bushes or the Bushes of the Clintions I would have never spoken to them again at the least. Yet here they were just One big happy family. That is when I woke up. AS the old Hippy told me they are two wings of the same bird.

American politics, if you are in the club of course, is as real as professional wrestling.

Both HATE the MAGA as pushy outsiders.

As a rule the men who went to battle in 1776 knew the odds favored England. England had more ships,money,trained men and guns than the Americans,yes I know France helped, but the men of 76 did not know that.

They believed their goal was just and they had the right given to them by God to self government.

It is only belief in that right( and the Second amendment) that keeps us free.

I am confused. If Mr Biden is in a mental state where he cannot run for reelection as he told us time and again he was going to, why is Mr Biden still in charge of our Atomic weapons and still sitting in 1600?

How to read.

Many people, even some teachers, think that they know how to read.

They don’t.

What many have learned is how to scan. Scanning or speed reading is not bad as a extra skill it allows you to cover a lot of pages fast, which may be OK for a novel, but is not good for a political speech or a history book where every word has meaning.

Perhaps the smartest Prof I ever knew had the habit of keeping note paper in his books and writing down words new to him.

He told me of “Course it is better to look the words up at the time, but one may not have a good dictionary to hand and this is far better than remaining ignorant .” He, by the way spoke at least 5 tongues and was a language Professor of the Old School.

That habit will also will lead to careful listening which is a required skill for a voter in a free Republic like ours.

Example? Sure. Vote for me and I will work for a better world. Look at the word “better” what does that pol mean by better? Why what ever you think he means.

In other words ,,,,the pol is saying trust me….

'I would not try to sell one of my Flower's( his younger wife the hippy raptor) books on say world love to you but a book on history of love ? That would be, as you humans say, a snap. A politician, need only the ability to measure his "mark" in his or her case voters and the ability to convince them that the lie is the truth as it gains the goal of office,which will be used for "GOOD" things. He or she must only make the mark believe and he or she is elected.

Words have emotional appeal. My dear Bob. said Dr. H, the Hadrosaur(duckbill who is Grrr's boss at the wellness center and Who married Flower the hippy raptor.) Perhaps Grrr being a former actor, has a better hummi, if I may say grasp, of that fact? Thus the "Timmy" name.

You see Bob, some words bypass, if I may put it so crudely, the reasoning part of a being's mind and appeal to feeling. Take the word "democracy" or "freedom"; beings hear it and it gives them a nice warm feeling. Many unethical beings have ridden it to wealth and power. Grrr being an actor, is very uh....learned in it..basic tool of his, former trade as it where. Not that I would have you think that my colleague and brother in law is unethical, but...he can be a bit of a scamp."

Roughly between 1820 and 1916 Great Britain was the WORLD POWER. Money in endless supply and wars only against lesser powers. Some of them hard frought to be sure but the result was never in question as long as Britain wanted to fight.

Until WW l and war against a peer power.

Britain came out on the winning side and even picked up some land for the ole empire.

But never fully recovered and WWll finished the Brits off.

I hope we have better luck next major war.

We, as the Brits learned, will not always be fighting goat herders.

16 century view of Religion

American History Religion in the age of exploration.

If you would understand American History, you must first understand the 16th Century view of Religion. People, they believed, were all created by God. Life on Earth was by its nature short and uncertain.

To be blunt . King or Serf or townsman, You never knew when you would die and if you died with major sins on your soul, it was hell for you and hell was seen as an unending torture chamber! The pain would never stop only get worse.

Therefore any thing you could do to save your soul was worth it and if you could make a few bucks  or get some land for a better  life on earth..that was just icing on the cake.

Your HOME was not on Earth. Earth was simply a place you were visiting for a short time. 

Your HOME was in heaven and as long as Americans believed that, they could not be oppressed. They would fight and either win or die and go home to a better world.

American History.

There is much on the net that is downright wrong about our national history that I feel called to set it right

 Religion..That may well have been the basic reason many people came to America. In Europe, of 1600's, You basically followed the religion of your Prince or got the ax. You either went along at ,some felt, the risk of their soul, or left. You must understand the concept of the Afterlife, heaven or hell was very real to these people. Now if you believed in your King or Prince's religion no problem, but some did not and from about 1600 (1500 about for Spain or Portugal) there was, if you dared, the New World. Spain offered the chance for wealth and a spiritual reward to it's conquestors  in conversion of the natives. Saving souls was a pious act and a very good way to save your own. One hears much about the cruel ways of Spain toward the indians.  700 years fighting the Muslims  did not turn the men of Spain into peace corps types. None the less, their souls and the ones they believed they could save were a very strong motive.
Tomorrow Virginia
