Welcome back to our(hopefully) loyal 5 fans, Yes I know it's been a bit.. But I am going to try and get back to a somewhat normal schedule . You know why we're here. Let's get to what has been happening

Hagerstown gets funding for new stadium..

Yeah, You read that correct, $59 million dollars in bonds were approved for a new stadium in the Hub city... My main problem with this is how quickly this was approved after 25 years of basically requesting a first born from the Hagerstown Suns, And some devious plot involving the City of Hagerstown and Washington County... Oh, In case you didn't read my last post...

THE SUNS ARE NO LONGER!!! But.. And I am not sure this how the deal was "so quickly" put together, A semi pro team will be the tenant in this"stadium"

The team will be an Atlantic League team, No idea what the teams name will be, But Good luck playing in what looks something shoe horned into a small space inadequate to hold the "proposed" park.. And, If this does get put in at this location, I guarantee I won't drive through there when a game is being played.. Foul ball used to destroy windshields at the Muni, Imagine what is going to happen when houses a lined all around, And a very active street covers 2 sides!!

Just from the above shown picture, It reminds me of Wilmington Delaware, Their stadium is jammed beside I 95, And sitting on the third base side is putting your life in jeopardy!!!

Don't get me wrong, I` am happy Hagerstown got something after being screwed by the money hungry MLB, But this location is the WORST place you could build!!!

Ironically Tuesday City Council met to decide on a location for a........ Indoor turf "area".. And take a guess where 1 of those spots is? Municipal Stadium site.. You know, The place they have been trying to avoid like the plague .. All these years of back and forth lost you a chance to build beside the Premium Outlets, The land was sold to build more warehouses.. This should have been the number 1 site from the beginning, From the other sites I remember , There's only 1 that makes sense, Behind Municipal Stadium in part of a park..

Now there are a few pluses, Concerts, Pro wrestling, And other events not able to use the muni for whatever reasons, Have a chance to return . All that everyone wants is Hagerstown to have a place for baseball and whatever else you can book for the place, But serious though needs to be used about crime, Close vicinity to a couple senior citizens towers, And displacing businesses that are in the area of the proposed location .. This new "Multi Use Center" can make or break Hagerstown, Doing the right things instead of knee jerk reactions can make a huge difference.. Good luck

I've wanted to do this post for awhile, But My anger has kept me from doing it!

Yes, There are still teams affiliated playing, But the so called "Cost saving" moves pretty much wipes out rookie ball in the Tenn/Va/ area...

Thankfully we made a trip that swung through the baseball rich area, Visiting interesting ball parks along the way! It was 1 of the best times I've ever had, And sadly most of the places we visited are now possibly out of the affiliated baseball for good. Yes, There are newer stadiums across the area, But that didn't stop the greedy MLB from cutting ties with 42... Yes 42 teams!!!

I know a few of these places are older, Hell Hagerstown's own Municipal Stadium was ancient by new standards, But it never felt that way once the game started, Most of the distractions around the park just seemed to go away, Baseball was what mattered.

But that's not the case anymore, Greedy owners care more about money, Then actually having a place to watch baseball on a summer evening, Friends, Family getting together and enjoying the time.

I can personally say the southern trip I went on with Shawn and Ryan has some of the best jokes , And even better memories! Yes, It was hot, And 2 of us got sick for a few hours, But even stories about those few hours are golden!!

Yes I know there are still places to catch a game, But having the "luck" to drive 3 miles and know I'll at least see pro ball was always an option. Now I'd have to travel at least 90 minutes to see a team(Hopefully 1 I like) And for Frederick to be contracted is just nuts, Fan base, Winning team, Great staff.. But again, Profits before people..

Without a real phone in my hand, I still make better decisions then Baseball!!

Well, This has been just a peach of a week!! Steelers get beat down like Rodney King, AND throw in a snow storm!!Did you ever fall in 8-10 inches of snow/sleet?? Extra points if you've barrel rolled 20 feet in the process?

For some reason they just look like they've not had a serious practice for weeks... Can't catch a ball, Can't run the ball, The defense is starting to falter in spots.. Mostly due to injury..

Now everyone thinks is going to be a blowout game, And I hope it is.. If the Steelers play like they've playing, Ugly Ugly game Sunday Night...Having a few days off to work on the problems may be the best thing they could ask for!

Well the Steelers and Ravens finally played Wednesday, And when I say this was pretty much a ugly game, I am not even joking!!

Between RG3 having about 33yards passing, But also having 68 yards rushing.. His replacement Trace McSorley Only completed 2 of his 6 passes,

But He actually got the Ravens the first down of the game in the 4th quarter, Making it yet another week the Steelers had to go the wire holding a slim lead... And with the way the Steelers were playing, This wasn't a sure win! Oh well... Let's just move forward...

Cleveland(8-3) At Tennessee(8-3)

This may be 1 of the best 1PM games today, And I'll probably get stuck watching The Bungles/Miami game!

New York(4-7) At Seattle(8-3)

Well, Hasn't this just been the NFL's nightmare of a week!!! First Baltimore screws the pooch and 1 guy gives half the team covid, Then the schedule has to change from a Thursday night game, To a Sunday afternoon game.

But wait , There's even more ...The now scheduled Sunday afternoon game was then changed to Tuesday, By the time I finish writing this post, They could change it Wednesday night at 1 am... This is how crazy shit has gotten!

And before I forget, I totally didn't pick the Cowboys game Thursday. The dumpster fire on the left resembles the Cowboy's 4th quarter. Final 41-16.

This will probably be short and sweet, But I honestly try and enjoy this post every year!!

Sadly this year, With covid, And all the things associated with that, It makes this holiday darker!

I am pretty sure everyone know someone who has ben touched by this. I myself probably had a weaker version of covid in February. I only had the fever,Chills, And horrible muscle aches.. I was so lucky to not get the sever lung ailments that come with this. 1 Of my friends from my childhood has not been so lucky, As of this writing, She is on a ventilator, Hopefully fighting her way back..

And it's not just the sickness that does damage, A6 Million plus jobs have been lost since March. With nothing near normal, And no real idea when things will, If ever get back to "normal".With all this going on, Take time to count the positives in your life right now.

I am thankful for family and friends, I may not see everyone every day, But you are in my heart as we go on each day!!

I'm thankful for my job, Yes I am pretty sure we all complain about our jobs, But think about it, Have you met god people? Do you at least make enough money to cover your bills? I am the last person who sings about anything good related with their job, But it gets you by, And hopefully feeds and clothes the ones you love.

And I simply can not end this without saying thank you To Shawn, Who has always went out of his way to give me a shout out on his much better blog lol, Ryan, Even though you haven't done a post since the Carter administration, I know I could count on you if I could not , Or if you just wanted to write about Morrissey!!! So... When we last spoke, This crazy little virus was juuuust starting to uproot life as we know it.. No Baseball, No Hockey, The NFL Draft was pretty much held in your house! And things have gotten crazy, Riots, Marches, Oh.. And how can we forget about murder hornets!!

Missing sports right now is the 1 thing I can say that is starting to drive me bat shit crazy! Sure we have Nascar.. But let's be honest.. It's nowhere close to the same!
There are signs of hope, Baseball says they"ll be back by the end of July. Just in time for Football to hopefully have training camps starting!
But thanks to Trump supporters, People are opting not to wear masks. Because ya know, If he doesn't have to wear one, Why should they? Maybe because the world doesn't revolve around you. Maybe you could help your fellow man.. I'm looking your way Florida!! Everything bad ALWAYS come out of there, Hanging Chad's, Prehistoric alligators, And Deion Sanders .
