Is it possible to quit a job and receive Unemployment Benefits in Canada if you were hired for a 42.5 hour week and for the past 3 weeks, daily hours have been reduced across the board to 40 hours for all employees. In addition, for the past 5 weeks, they were, at first, giving a voluntary early home time (without pay) for an hour or two. Now? Every day is a non-voluntary shut down after 2 – 4 hours of work. I noted on the EI website a valid reason for quitting a job was a drastic change in duties that affect your pay. Would this qualify? I had asked about getting a part time job but was told that I couldn't because I would not know from one day to the next what my hours were going to be. Yesterday, they sent a woman home after an hour due to call volume. We work in a call centre that's contracted by AT&T. Is this a Labour Board issue? Or can I quit, collect EI and search for another job?

Suggestion:

You don't get unemployment if you quit. 2.5 hour a week reduction in hours is not a "drastic change in duties that affect your pay". It's not even a change in duties. It's a change in hours, and by no means a drastic one, only about a 5% decrease. Not the same thing.

They are under no obligation to pay you to sit at work if they have no work for you to do.

Here’s your chance to learn how to have more prosperity in your life from a self-made millionaire!

Do you find yourself coming around again and again to the same stressful financial challenges? This is never an accident. The author of this book, a self-made millionaire and 45-year pioneer mind/brain researcher, tells you why this is happening: You need to GET YOUR BRAIN FOCUSED ON BRINGING MORE MONEY INTO YOUR LIFE. She says, “As a self-made millionaire, I can tell you that the “How” to be financially stronger is totally worthless until you first adjust what’s happening in your mind.”

Behind the scenes your past history is directing all of your current thoughts and actions related to “money.” Don’t believe it? How many times have you found yourself facing the SAME financial challenges and problems? The secret to getting past this is this: Reach into your brain and re-program it to SUPPORT your desires. Fail to do so and you will just continue to get more of what you face today! This “how to” book has been created by a SELF-MADE MILLIONAIRE based on what she has done with her clients from around the world for over 45 years. In short, it works!

Part one of this short, fast-moving 39-page book presents critically important insights into exactly how to get your brain to support your goals. Part 2 then helps you refine your “money mind set” – the blueprint that controls all of your desires, beliefs, and expectations related to money. This helps you get past any old guilt, fear or negative expectations you have around money. You’ll come out the last page with a very clear and powerful vision of what to do next to ACHIEVE YOUR FINANCIAL GOALS.

put yes or n/a
this is a generic application used in multiple states, if you live in a state that does not require a permit it is not an issue…

companies are not going to print a different application for each state they operate in….

There was once a farm, a beautiful farm… you know the ones with all the crops to grow and pigs and chickens all of that. I had lived on this farm that was my home for as long as I could remember. It was the best farm in the countryside. The best farm money could afford. Nobody could ask for a better one. Well, anyway, I was just a regular farmer like most farmers…. planting crops, feeding chickens, pigs, cows and looking after my family. But that farm that I once lived on was gone, now. It wasn’t there anymore and I will get to that later on in the story right now I am going to talk to you about a young man named Morgan Abigail. A nice young good lad he was. The best working farmer since 1950, that was the year when I was ten years old and my papa would take me out bird shooting or even working for the first time on the farm. The year now is 1985 and by golly the years have gone fast. I didn’t expect the years to go this fast. It only felt like yesterday was the day my friends and I graduated from grammar school back in 1956 or was it 1957? I can’t remember. It was one or the other… anyway that isn’t important really. But what is important is telling you my life story.

When I woke up, one side of the bed was usually colder than the other. My bed was right underneath the window so the nice cool breeze would come through and flow through my body. But most of the time it went through my wife for some strange reason and I hardly had any of it. The right side of the bed (were my wife slept peacefully) was usually colder than the other. My fingers stretched upwards. As I turned my head to the right were my wife usually slept she wasn’t there. She was gone. My eyes only opened a little and started to open a little bit more. As I were looking around my bedroom it was hard to tell what was what with my eyes only open a little. I could tell that my wife wasn’t next to me because there wasn’t a figure lying there were she slept. My mouth opened a little and my eyes scrunched up as I started to yawn. My little dog, which was a Sheepdog, as you may or may not already know most farmers have Sheepdogs to herd the sheep. She was nine years old and she was on her last pair of legs. Her name was Sally; I liked that name very much. It reminded me of my great grandparents that had passed in 1990 and my great-grandmother was called Sally so that is why I called her that. So it reminded me every day of her. Sally was a good dog, the best dog actually at herding sheep. Whenever she herded the sheep I would always give her a treat and thank her for doing so. Sally would usually stand at the door, waiting for me to come so she could lick my face or jump up at me with her tail wagging away. And it weren’t just Sally who was the only dog. I also had a bulldog named Rufus; he wasn’t much tamed, only when he was with me though he was tamed. I bought him from a pet-shop. They were selling him for £15 for everything, his chew toys and his fake cat toy that he chewed on from time-to-time.

Now, people would think him to be a vicious wild dog like whenever you go near him he would bite you. That wasn’t with him, only a little though because he didn’t get treated very well when he was a pup. He got beaten by his owners and abandoned on the streets where he had to fend for himself. I don’t blame him if he tries to bite people. I really don’t because he is just trying to protect himself and me by being loyal that was it. No harm done, really. Anyway, nobody really came onto my farm unless they wanted a job or a place to stay. And I told them “You get paid £100 a month and a place to stay is £50 for a month.” So it worked out equally. I get fifty and whoever it was gets fifty. It wasn’t conning or a scam none of that. Profit to me wasn’t much of a bother because I had my wife working down at a flower-shop which became very popular. Once she told me that she had thirty people in one day coming in and buying her sweet flowers that smelled nice whenever you smelled them. Usually she sold Dandelions because they were the most popular or Roses even. The shop became very popular and we earned over five hundred pounds in one day. My little Sheepdog, Sally, was all curled up inside Rufus’ stomach. Her face was planted in his stomach. Her nose looked like it was being squashed but it wasn’t. Both of them were at the end of the King-sized bed. It looked cute to watch them sleep together but it wasn’t…. well it was a bit but not by much.

I'm sick and tired of applying at so many places and nothing
I graduate hs in about a month and id like to have a job before I graduate …the only thing I've gotten is an email saying I cannot be hired at this time….seriously what might I be doing wrong!?
And I can't apply again for another 60 days at almost all the places.

Suggestion:

The job market is not very strong right now. Also, you're still in high school so you don't offer many skills or professional knowledge. Company's are either not looking to hire people because this is a slow time for retail and other businesses, and if they are, there is probably someone more qualified than you. That's just what happens when you're young and inexperienced.

Also, what do you consider to be "so many places"? Keep applying.
