When you get a new guitar in your home at your disposal and look for some startup songs to try with it, it is crucial to select the best songs to learn on guitar and start with them. As it is like everything in life, getting used to play those selected songs will encourage you very much to continue learning more different ones.

Chord strumming is not the only thing that you are going to learn as a beginner of guitar but also you have to learn how to play the songs. You will be facing some difficulty in the beginner phase when you start trying to play some songs with your guitar.

If you are not sure on which songs to pick for beginning to try them on your guitar, you can use the tips on choosing the best songs to learn on guitar which are listed below.

1) Before you can do anything with your guitar, you need to be aware of some basic information about it. You must be able to hold the guitar properly, you must have a basic understanding about how to strum the guitar and you should also know how to tune your guitar, so that the sounds that it produces will have a meaning.

2) There are some very basic chords in guitar and you should start by learning them. After getting used to them, you can pass on to other advanced chords and you can try them on your guitar. Only after getting familiar with some new chords can you select the song to try to play.

3) Knowing to play the chords is one thing and shifting through them while playing the song is another. Start playing your guitar from one chord and randomly change the chord one by one and hit the strings of your guitar with a simple rhythm in order to produce some kind of music. At first your fingers will not let you change the chords very quickly but if you continue practicing, they will become flexible enough to let you play the songs that you have selected.

4) If you are very new to playing guitar, you can select a song that utilizes only two or three chords to play the song and master playing that one and then select a harder song to increase your skills in guitar to a next level.

5) If the song that you have selected to learn to play on your guitar is too fast, then you will have a very hard time to keep up with the rhythm of the song and if you are a complete beginner, it will be impossible to change all of the chords of the song in time. The best songs to learn on guitar are the songs that have a low pace and easy to get along with the chords while playing the song. So you need to find a song that you can actually keep up with the speed of it.

6) There are some songs that you may want to pick up as the starting pieces. Such songs include “As Tears Go By” and “Paint It Black” from the famous group Rolling Stones, “Daydream Believer” from the Monkees, and “Daytripper” from the well-known group The Beatles. The similarity of these songs are being medium paced songs that do not utilize too fast chord shifting and the chords that they contain being simple to learn and apply while trying to learn to play the guitar.

The beginning part of learning the guitar does not mean that you need to start from trying to play the songs right away. Instead, trying the basics of the guitar and getting ready or the time when you are going to try to play your first song is a better approach in learning to play the guitar.

You will absolutely feel great when you can finally play the chords of a song in the guitar and that is the reason why you should pick easier songs as your beginning efforts in order not to get frustrated from your very first attempt. And it is also a proven fact that the best songs to learn on guitar are the songs that you actually enjoy listening and playing, because you will have pleasure from the learning phase of playing the guitar.

The knowledge of how to set up an acoustic guitar is a must for every guitar player and it will be of a great benefit for you in the future. The ways to achieve that knowledge are mentioned in this article and these tips are presented to you step by step. You can apply these steps at home yourself. However in order to get on with this project efficiently, there will be some tools that you need along the way.

Do not think that learning to play a guitar is so easy, especially if you didn’t count the difficulty of trying to learn an already challenging instrument. If you have no idea about how to set up an acoustic guitar, we suggest you seek out a professional to set your guitar up for you.

All this talk concentrates on trying to make your guitar set up and ready to be played as possible. Luckily all guitar technicians who generally work in local music shops are able to make your guitar ready for you for a mere cost, and this cost is usually lower than 50 dollars. Each guitar setup consists of the steps described below:

1) Truss Rod. The truss rod is inside of the guitar’s neck and it provides a reinforcement made of metal that covers the entire length of the guitar. You will need to do maintenance on the truss rod frequently in order to make sure you are at the minimum distance between the frets and the strings without causing a buzz sound while playing your guitar.

This rod is primarily used for moving the bend of the neck back or forward and only an experienced person about the subject should ever touch it. If you can give the correct tension to it, you will experience a very easy guitar play. But if you give the tension that is more than the strings of your guitar can handle when you are setting up your guitar, it would be a good possibility that your guitar strings would break up in pieces at the first time of play.

2) The Nut And The Bridge. The nut is located near the tuning pegs and the bridge lies near the tail piece of your guitar. They are the only parts of your guitar where the strings have a contact point. There are times when you will need to sand down or file them when you wanna achieve something different on your guitar. If the guitar technician is an experienced one, he or she will make sure that the adjustments on your guitar are suitable for such actions.

The bridge of some of the guitars are able to be adjusted by special tools while you’re setting up your acoustic guitar, and it is mostly used on electric guitars. Let your guitar technician handle it because he will surely know how to do it.

3) Replacing The Strings. Your guitar’s setup cannot be called as done until you have properly installed new strings on it. If your guitar is not including a locking nut, this technique applies to your guitar (on systems like floyd rose, these devices are used for locking the strings down). Technicians usually call this technique as in, under, over and around.

4) Intonation Setup. Usually a guitar that the strings have newly been installed will sound awesome when you try the first twelve frets. However when you try a riff in the frets past the first twelve, it is a strong possibility that you will get an awful sound. If this is the case for you, then you need to consider running a session of intonation. All you need for this is a bridge that has come with saddles which are adjustable. It is common practice to have screws that reside on the bridge’s bottom, and you can use them to adjust the position of the saddles, pushing them forward or backward, and taking them away from guitar’s top.

That will be all about your guitar’s setup. When you have run all the steps mentioned above about how to set up an acoustic guitar, your guitar is set, and ready to make some music.

Do not fear when you start thinking about the guitar lesson cost for learning how to play guitar. Most of the time it is a reality for the beginners who sit down with their guitar and amplifier and can play nothing. You do not need to fear from the costs of learning how to play the guitar because many learning sources such as teachers and products are waiting for you to use them in your quest of learning how to lay the guitar. Many beginners get very confused when they want to decide the amount of budget to divide on guitar lessons. This question actually troubles the mind of many beginners out there and the scope of this article is towards this issue.

When you have a live teacher near you trying to teach you the ways to play the guitar, you feel very comfortable and you most certainly learn faster than when you are using a product. Your teacher will warn you whenever you make a mistake while playing and you are going to get back on the right track immediately after doing the error. This type of instant support is going to save a lot of time for you while learning to play your guitar. However the guitar lesson cost is something that you may be worried about. The average guitar tutors will cost 15 to 30 dollars for a session of half an hour while the hourly rate of an experienced teacher can go as high as 50 to 80 dollars.

If you take your lessons weekly for one month, it will make four lessons in a month and it will cost you 250 dollars. Each lesson will take one hour to complete. Some teachers may even go as high as 85 dollars for a lesson of one hour. The amounts that the teachers ask vary greatly. If you are going for a particular area in guitar and if there are many teachers who are willing to teach you the ways to play the guitar in that particular area, then the money required for the guitar lessons may be significantly lower.

There is no doubt about that it is going to be very expensive. Guitar is not an music instrument that you can learn immediately. The student must also be able to communicate with the guitar teacher perfectly and the teacher must be able to instruct the student about the music type that the student is after. For example you cannot expect to learn to play the songs of Pink Floyd from a teacher who has mastered the art of country music. It is no problem if you are interested in a particular style of guitar playing, so there is no offense when you intend to find a suitable teacher for your desired style. But depending on the style that you are choosing, it may be very expensive to be able to work with a suitable tutor.

If you think that your budget is not enough to afford the guitar teachers, then you may want to consider learning how to play the guitar from an online guitar lesson or from a product. This type of learning is a new technique that gains popularity amongst beginners because of its cost effective approach. You can actually find the required book for the price that you would otherwise be paying to a teacher for one hour of guitar training. And in addition to this, if you select this method for learning guitar, you will not have to worry about arranging the time to use the product that you have both.

Learn and Master Guitar’s course by Steve Krenz is the most recommended guitar course if you really want to make your own time learning how to play guitar like a pro without wasting your money on those expensive one-on-one guitar lesson. The product will be in your hands all the time so you can use it whenever you are available. This method is selected by more and more beginners everyday because it lowers the guitar lesson cost considerably.

It is a very important skill to know how to fix guitar strings when you really need to do it. The strings in the guitar break for several obvious reasons and these reasons include the force you are exerting on the strings while playing, the age of your strings on your guitar, and the frequency in which you tune your strings. Also you have to learn how to change the strings of your guitar and you should change the strings very carefully.

1) You are going to start the removal process of your strings by loosening and removing all of your strings from their tuning pegs. You will need some string winders and you can find them from a local music shop. Place the end of the winder that is looking like a tuning head to the head. In order to be able to loose the strings from their tuning pegs, turn the winder. You can then remove each string from the holes of the tuning pegs.

2) The strings must also be removed from the bridge of the guitar in order to fix your guitar stings easily. The bridge is at the body of the guitar and near to the bottom of it and this is the place where all of the strings on the guitar laced through before they can be wired into their tuning pegs. In order to be able to put your new strings into their places, you are going to have to get rid of all of the strings from the bridge.

3) The next step of how to fix guitar strings is cleaning the frets of your guitar by a piece of cloth and making it clean completely. If you want to make a quality sound from your guitar, you need to make sure that the grime on the fingerboard is cleansed from all its dirt and it is ready for you to play. The usage of a guitar body polish is very popular in these areas. Do not forget to clean the body of the guitar with polish spirit and an old soft rag. Cleanse the body of the guitar in a circular motion and go from the outside of the body towards the inside and also handle the dirt around the pickups.

4) Get a new package of guitar strings from your local music shop and open the package and take the strings outside. You can guess the order of the strings because they have different thickness and each string is gauged. Also in order to prevent getting all of the strings entangled to each other, they come with their separate envelope. It is a cool trick of how to fix guitar strings to remove the envelopes from the outside package and not touching the envelopes until the guitar is ready to accept the strings.

5) It is recommended to start with the E string at the bottom and firstly put one of its ends through the hole of the bridge and fix the other end of the string inside the hole of the tuning peg. After doing that, you need to pull the string taut above the guitar’s body at an angle of 90 degrees. After that, place the winder on the tuning head and slowly but firmly, turn the winder. While turning, the winder will tighten the string and this process will wind the string around its tuning peg.

6) You need to take the next string on your hands and repeat the process that has been described above cautiously. The process that is required to be done for the remaining five strings is no different than what you have done for the low E string. After placing all of the strings in the correct order to your guitar, you can be sure that you have mastered how to fix guitar strings and you can get on with the tuning of the strings of your guitar.

Are you ready to play the bass guitar? Well then, take one step at a time and practice steadily and it will be quite easy to strum the bass guitar. Repeat each note till you perfect it and feel confident.

It is advisable to use a fretted bass guitar while learning unless you are used to playing other instruments and are already initiated into the basics of instrument fundamentals. The fretted bass guitar helps you to achieve the correct note in an easier manner.

Before learning to play the bass guitar it will be very useful if you can do a simple exercise which will help you perform better. Depending on which hand you use for playing the guitar, do the following exercise to increase its strength and flexibility. Lift your hand at 90 degrees angle from the floor. Then lift each finger one at a time in varying order of sequence. Do this exercise first slowly then in quick progression.

Place the bass guitar on your thigh with the strings facing outward. If you are a right handed person then the broad portion of the guitar called “the body” should rest on your thigh and the slender portion of the guitar called “the neck” should be held in your left hand. (If you are a left handed person, then it is vice versa). Adjust the guitar on your thigh till you feel comfortable and your hand position feels right.

Holding the guitar with your left hand, place your left thumb on the string that is midway between the strings or called the E string. Then place the middle and index fingers on the D string. The D string is two strings below the E string. Pluck each string in succession till you become comfortable and easy in your movements. This is the way to begin playing the bass guitar.

Playing the metal guitar is a totally different proposition as compared to other guitars. Metal guitar incorporates a widely varied style of playing and it would be wrong to assume that there is only one single technique involved in playing the metal guitar. In fact some metal guitarists are quite apt at playing different techniques within the metal framework and they make it very appealing. However, a point to be noted would be that there certain basic factors which is purely common to all metal guitar players.

Minor Key: Most of the metal songs are written in the minor keys since the major keys in a metal guitar is sometimes too loud and too lively to bring out the essence of the songs. Of course major keys are used in some metal songs, but more often than not you will find that metal songs are written in minor keys to get the feel of the song right.

Pedal Points: This is a technique more favored by metal guitarists since this helps to maintain the rhythm and allows for accentuation on the chords. Using pedal points while playing the metal guitar is generally called “chugging” or “galloping” and is common among most successful metal guitar players.

Fast Tempo Songs: Fast tempo songs lend themselves well to metal guitar playing and hence have more usage than slow tempo songs. So, if you are a metal guitarist then you need to learn how to synchronize your pick hand and your fret hand well and play tight when the drummer picks up the pace.

You will need to remember that the above mentioned points are just general rules followed by metal guitarists and not some laid down conditions.

1. Peace and Quiet: Guitar learning needs a lot of concentration. Hence it would be advisable to practice at a place which is peaceful and quiet. A noisy place will not allow your listening ear to detect mistakes and your guitar playing will suffer and your learning speed will decrease.

2. Freshen up before Practice: DO NOT practice when you are tired. If you have worked all day long or have been studying, then you may be physically and mentally tired. Then it is a wrong time to practice even if you are following a strict regimen. Let your mind and body relax for a little while, take a shower, have a good meal and then have your practice session. You will find that this makes a lot of difference to your playing. (This is why early morning practice is advised in most cases).

3. Relax while Practicing: Make it a habit to relax while practicing. Do not carry tension as this will reflect in your playing. Relaxing also helps you when you perform on stage before a live audience. Close your eyes take deep breaths and meditate for a while before you start and this will help you relax.

4. Buy a Good Guitar: Buy a reasonably priced but good guitar right from the beginning. The guitar need not be expensive, but it has to be of good quality. You could take the help of your friends to choose a good guitar. Maintenance of quality is an important road to effective and successful playing of guitar.

If so, are you aware of some basic facts? I am sure you love playing the guitar and perhaps want to advance to an electric guitar. Then let me give you simple tips so that the guitar playing becomes more fun rather than a chore.

1. The market is full of various types of electric guitars. So, whether you are buying for the first time or upgrading to a newer one, you need to be sure as to the type of music you will be playing on the guitar. For instance, if you like to play punk music, you cannot buy a guitar made for alternative music. Sound produced for each type of music is different and so your choice of guitar has to suit the style of music
.
2. A good amp is absolutely essential when playing the electric guitar as against the acoustic guitar. Even if you are a very good guitar player, the sound or music produced will not be effective if your amp is below par. Make sure your amp has options and it would be best to try out the guitar in the store so that you will know how it will sound on your amp.

3. Learn to play the Barre chords. These chords are so often used in the electric guitar that it is very important that you learn to play the barre chords. It also helps you to master the power chords easily.
