VCM Summer Guitar Academy 2012

Classical guitarists of all ages and abilities* come together this summer for an exciting week of instruction, collaboration and performance. Beginner, intermediate and advanced students will all find engaging opportunities to take their playing to the next level.

*at least one year of prior guitar study is recommended

Faculty: Dr. Alexander Dunn, Jacob Cordover, Michael Dias, Janet Grohovac

Program: Guitar Academy $400

Daily activities include private and group instruction, guitar orchestra, technique classes, masterclasses, lectures on various guitar topics and performances. Participants are encouraged to attend all Guitar Academy concerts, admission to which is included in the course fees.

This is the first of the 2012 concert series. Come and savour the ancient and intricate beauty of medieval polyphony and poetry by composers of the 14th and 15th Century. Featured composers are Guillaume de Machaut and Gullame DuFay. “Mon bien, m’amour” is the wonderful and glorious music of these important composers.
