If you are like me and just starting out in affiliate marketing, then I highly suggest you read Jonathan Volk’s Affiliate Marketing 101 Guide. It’s very informative, easy to read, and he gives you some great tips to start off your efforts.

One piece of advice that was common from all of the gurus, is don’t read too much. When you feel you have a firm grasp on the basics of being an affiliate, then just start and learn by doing. When reading Jonathan’s guide, I chose to stop at Facebook marketing and not get caught up in PPC and alternate ad methods right now. I’ll come back and revisit them later after I’ve had some success.

Week 1 coming to a close

I’m at the very end of day six. A lot has gone on this week, and I’m very happy with my progress.

In week 1 I have:

Signed up for a web host.
Read Jonathan Volk’s Affiliate 101 guide.
Installed Tracking202 on my own domain (Prosper202).
Created and launched this website.
Created and launched my Twitter account.
Applied to about 10 affiliate networks.
Approved by three networks.

Week 2 Goals:

Follow up with the networks who asked for more information.
Narrow down my offers, and pick two or three to start with.
Try to get a few more Twitter followers.
Figure out how to use Prosper202 properly.
Update blog at least every other day.
Test one campaign on Facebook by week’s end.

So far so good. In addition to my blog posts, I’ll also try to log key events on the Status page for easy viewing.

Yes, this is the default WP post. But, it’s my very first post! And, I’m going to launch this site with it. I’m very excited to launch this project. Please subscribe to my RSS or my Twitter account to keep up with my progress.
