My name is Gary Sanet. Pay strict attention to what I say because I choose my words carefully and I never repeat myself. I have already told you my name – Thats the WHO. The WHERE can most readily be described as a virtual prison that I put myself a little over year ago. But there’s a vast difference between being stuck in a tiny cell and being in a prison. The WHAT is easy. Recently I planned and set in motion the events to execute the perfect business model. That’s also the WHEN. As for the WHY – beyond the obvious financial motivation, its exceedingly simple – Because I CAN. Which leaves us only with the HOW and therein as this part will tell us lies my story.

Introduction

Almost 2 years back when I was in the 2nd year of my Engineering, I registered my own company – Fedobe Solutions Pvt Ltd. Almost 1 year back I made it clear about my intentions of not going for job. Well my engineering is now over and I guess the time has to come to make the final call.
Today is 11.11.11 and as of writing this (at 11.11 am) … I am finally a fulltime ENTREPRENEUR and I hereby proclaim that I am about to change the entire Start-Up environment of my state with intent of turning the general mindset of our current education system from a job-seeking one to a job-giving one.
In other words, I AM ABOUT TO CREATE A GROUP OF COMPANIES.

It Takes 6 Years To Become An Overnight Success

When it comes to entrepreneurship, I cannot stress anymore that nothing is as simple as it looks and it takes years of consistent and planned effort to make your dreams come true.

You now know my name but not my story. You’ve heard what I have done but not what I have been through. And it is very important that you understand that it took me 6 years to become an “overnight success”. And if you are planning to do something similar then lemme remind you – Rome was NOT built in a day

Journey Of My Failures

To some people having your own company, being your own boss and working your own hours might be somewhat similar to the definition of success. And thats exactly what I am doing right now. So now you might call me successful but I DONT because I have FAILED to achieve every single target that I have set so far.

The Phone

After the 1st year of my Engineering I bought myself a Nokia N95. FYI, back in those days it used to be the best phone available.
The Untold Story – When I started blogging after class 10th exams I had planned to buy my own phone before college (12th). Well I was late by over 3 years to achieve this one !!!

The Server

After the 2nd year of my Engineering I bought my own cloud server from Rackspace. FYI it is one of the best ever and the most scalable server you can use.
The Untold Story – Before I was able to afford my own cloud server I had to slog through the horrors of shared servers. The actual target was to buy my own cloud server before entering engineering. Well this time too I was 2 years behind my schedule.

The Bike

After the 3rd year of my Engineering I bought a Yamaha YZF R15. FYI it still is one of the best bike here in India.
The Untold Story – My actual plan was to enter my engineering college with my own bike. And yet again I failed. It took me 3 years of freelancing before I could afford my own bike.

The Company

After the 4th year of Engineering, I am now a fulltime Entrepreneur finally running my own company – Fedobe Solutions Pvt Ltd.
The Untold Story – The actual plan was to have the 4Cs i.e. to take the Campus recruitment drive of my own Company to my own College in my own Car. And yet again I failed

The Point Of No Return

There’s a huge difference between registering a company and building a sustainable and scalable business. And your journey to success gets worse before it becomes better. And right at that moment you get to choose between the 2 options – on one hand you will have an easy way out and on the other will be your dreams. Soon enough you will realize that entrepreneurship is about working 16 hours a day for yourself just so that you dont have to work 8 hours a day for someone else. And when you keep on moving forward towards your dreams inspite of all this, thats when you have reached your POINT OF NO RETURN.

And Then It Gets Better …

Well being stubborn about your dreams is definitely gonna help here. And once you reach your point of no return, you will realize that nothing beats the feeling of being the owner of ur very own company.

Whats Next ???
History doesn’t necessarily repeats itself but it sure does rhyme. If you have come this far then, I might have something that would interest you. Over the next 1 year I will be building an Incubator targeted for web based entrepreneurs. OpenInnovators.In – Finding The Founders

If you want to have a lot of fun, you shouldn’t try to create a business, you should stick with your 9 to 5 job. Here’s why:

You’ll have less stress

Business is very stressful! Imagine having to handle high amounts of stress like making payroll, firing employees, or just figuring out how to get your business to make money. Sounds pretty intense, doesn’t it?

And once you make money, the stress doesn’t go away. You’ll constantly have something that you’ll be stressed out about.

You’ll have fixed hours

When you’re running your own business you won’t just be working from 9am to 5pm, you’ll easily find yourself working 12-hours+ a day for 7 days a week. It sounds easy but you can get burned out quickly. I’ve personally been doing it for 2 years (almost 3).

You’ll have job security

The best part about having a 9 to 5 job is stable income. For most of my entrepreneurial career I didn’t have stable income, which made things extremely difficult.

If you’re having a bad month in your business, unfortunately your expenditures or credit card bills don’t cut you a break. Especially if you are starting your business after your studies gets over.

And I reinvest every dollar I made back into my business, which helped me get to where I am today.

You’ll have a simple life

If you start a business and it does well, you will have financial security. However, you’ll find yourself not being able to spend the money you’re making because you’re too busy working.

And yes, you can try to hire someone to replace you so that you can just sit back and cash checks, but it is really hard to find someone that can do as good of a job as you can.

The cool part about working a 9 to 5 job is that you get vacation time and your life doesn’t get as complicated as it does with a business.

I know the 9 to 5 experience sounds a bit boring, but at least it is much more simple. The best part about it is that you only have to do a few things well instead of trying to do everything.

Conclusion

By no means am I convincing you not to start your own business, I’m just saying that you shouldn’t start one because you think, “it’s fun”.

If you want to start a business and be successful, you should only do so if you can:

1. Solve a problem – a business doesn’t need to be cool, it needs to solve a problem in the market place. And the problem you are trying to solve has to be one that people are experiencing today, not something that people will experience 5 years from now.

2. Make money – If you can’t make money, you won’t survive. I don’t care if you are changing the world in a better way, you have to be able to make money. You have bills, you need food, and the only way you can take care of those things is with money. You need to make enough money so that you can live comfortably.

I have also decided to talk about “starting your own business” because many people have been telling me that it’s their plan after their studies, although I would suggest to start it after 1 or 2 years experience in a job. Before you do that, take a look at whether it’s really worth your time and money or not. Not everyone is ready to start their own business and just because it’s so simple and easy to do it now-a-days, it doesn’t mean you should.

If you love making money like me, go for it. Just don’t do it for the fame and glamour.

Introduction …

It’s always ironical how a series of simple events in one’s life can lead to something so amazing that it ends up forging his entire future. And so was the case for Gary Sanet. There were many experiences in Gary’s life which were so insignificant that you could say, they represented simple ‘dots’ in the grand journey of his life, the magnanimity of which was left unnoticed by the people around him. And the only way to comprehend his real identity was to look back in his past & connect these simple dots together to form the ‘Big Picture’ of his astounding & eventful life, which will leave you pondering over the realms of impossibilities and will take you on a journey so wonderful that you will realize superheroes do exist. It will make you understand the dynamics of a mind so pure and ambitious that you will be compelled to question every single thing that this society has forced you to believe you cannot achieve.

The Legend Begins …

It all began when Gary got to see a computer in his friend’s home for the first time in his life when he was reading in Class-II. It was just like love-at-first-sight and even though it was just a black and white Pentium II computer, for Gary Sanet, it was the greatest discovery of his life, a discovery which was about to shape his entire life ahead. After using the computer for the first time what Gary did was run to home and asked his parents to buy him a computer. Now Gary’s father who was a man of duties believed it had no practical implementations in his life and so he straight ahead said – “NO”. So off went Gary on a hunger strike until his mother said that he was going to be gifted a computer soon. The only consolation for him was his mother’s golden words of wisdom which always made him quit his hunger strikes. Now Gary’s mom, (who used to be a topper in her college but was not allowed to continue to study further because the society did not favor girls going for higher studies)  always said one thing that made it possible for Gary to achieve what he has achieved till now. Something you should remember for every moment of your life just like Gary did. It was about “Following your dreams no matter what the society says”.

The Life-Changing Deal …

Over the next 8 years Gary’s love for computers grew so big that at last he made a life changing deal with his parents. The guy who never touched his books until the night before exams promised his parents to score 90% marks at his 10^th Board Examinations in exchange for a computer with internet. Now Gary’s parents immediately agreed but I’m not sure whether it was because they thought that their son could never do it or maybe because they had faith on him, now that’s a mystery I haven’t solved yet. But irrespective of that Gary did manage to get 90.2% at his 10^th Board Exam, now that’s a mystery his parents haven’t solved yet. So as promised Gary got to lay his hands on his sparkling new Pentium IV computer and all hell broke loose.

The Hacker is Born …

What followed was hours of nonstop gaming which were the early signs of an obsession that was about to change Gary’s entire life. And just like any teenager with a computer, his research on becoming a hacker began. Although it managed to keep him busy for entire days (and nights), it did not satisfy his thirst for knowledge and that led him to the “Chamber of Secrets”.

Chamber of Secrets & The 13 Ghosts …

What I am about to tell you is highly confidential. To this day nobody has been able to discover the actual source of all the things Gary knows, but now you will. On his quest for knowledge Gary managed to meet the ultimate group of 13 people(including him), they were the people who thought the way he did, people who had the same mindset as he did, people who had the same goals as he did, people from all around the world motivated by their dreams & not their duties, they were the 13 GHOSTS who were the original founders of “The Chamber of Secrets”. They used to call themselves “Ghosts” because their real identity was hidden from each other & none of the 13 ghosts knew even the name of any of the other ghosts. And “The Chamber of Secrets” referred to the secret online forum where the 13 ghosts shared their dreams, their targets, their strategies, their experiences, their philosophies, things that laid the foundation to Gary’s entrepreneurship.

From Ghost to Angel – Creativity Unleashed …

Knowledge is a tricky concept as its usefulness depends entirely upon the motives of the person using it. And Gary, a life-affirming person as he is, took the step towards innovation. The more he worked on his own projects the more he realized the real worth of the priceless knowledge that was within his reach, ideas that if implemented could change his world and so it did !!

Where Ideas Meet Business …

The most important thing that Gary learnt being one of the 13 ghosts in “The Chamber of Secrets” was the power of a team. He understood the potential of a learning experience based on the concept of complementing each other’s work. Unlike our present education system where people have to compete with each other; he devised his very own learning experience where people complete each other. And when he put his ideas into action what happened was unlike anything he had ever imagined. Gary started his very own venture and founded BusinessVartha.com, that serves as a platform which fosters innovation by forging collaboration between groups of freelancers with complementary skills. And what followed after that is gonna shake your entire world !!

Owner of a Company at 20 …

Now before I continue lemme first take you on a flashback to Gary’s 1^st year in Engineering. Back in those days he did something that had left his friends bewildered at his crazy actions. He used to write his plans on the class blackboard signing off as Gary Sanet and once he went to the extent of distributing visiting cards to the entire class as the owner of an organization (The Baptists). Well, I know that was a weird moment for all you guys but for Gary it was the moment he was waiting to experience, something he was preparing to turn into a reality, something he eventually did.  Gary Sanet went ahead to become the owner of his very own web designing company – Fedobe Solutions Pvt Ltd just at the age of 20.

One Man Against The Entire Society …

Well it wasn’t as easy as it sounds on pen and paper. It took Gary more than 3 years of careful research & planning, innumerable calculated risks, countless sleepless nights, and lots of frustrated days when nothing seemed to go according to his plans. It didn’t just happen overnight but rather after number of failed attempts, in spite of the constant pressure from his parents, friends, relatives, neighbors & teachers to leave everything and focus on his shameless marks. But when the society told Gary to stop dreaming and face the reality of life, Gary believed in the beauty of his dreams & every cell in his body, every moment of his life was dedicated to make his dreams come true and so Gary moved one step at a time, closer & closer to fulfill his dreams. Well now that Gary has passed all the tests of the society, he wonders if all those failed attempts were part of God’s master plan to make him realize the actual worth of what he has now – His Friends !!

The Unmasking of The Super-Hero …

In this world great people end up either becoming a superstar or a superhero. Although both enjoy the same amount of stardom, the world of a superstar is centered around name, fame & money while that of a superhero is centered around a “Purpose” or in case of Gary – his DREAMS !! So I think it’s time to unmask our superhero whose super powers are – Trust (His belief over his dreams) & Faith (both on himself & on his dreams). If you have watched the movie – 3 Idiots, you will be able to relate our super hero with the character “Funsook Wangdu (Rancho)” of the movie. Except, the real name of Gary Sanet is not Funsook Wangdu … his real name is Guru Sanket Biswal. Yep it’s been me all along

The Beginning …

I am publishing my autobiography at 10:10 am on 10.10.10 (10^th October 2010) !! This specific time of this specific date happens only once in a hundred year which symbolizes my uniqueness as I can guarantee you that you will never ever meet a guy like me in your entire life because I’m one of God’s limited editions . And just like the saying goes in Spiderman (my favorite superhero) – “With great power comes great responsibilities.”, the real purpose of me publishing my real identity is what you should understand clearly. Everything you have read so far is just the beginning of my master plan and I am about to take everything to a complete new level. Friends, the time of publishing this story of mine is 10.10 am on 10.10.10 and I intend to put myself in a virtual prison and do nothing except Follow My Dreams for the entire upcoming year … Next year my engineering will be finished n I intend to wait till then for spreading my revolution !!!!
