MUSIM

Musim adalah salah satu pembagian utama tahun, biasanya berdasarkan bentuk iklim yang luas. Biasanya satu tahun terbagi menjadi empat musim, yaitu: musim semi, musim panas, musim gugur, dan musim dingin. Tetapi, di Indonesia karena terletak di daerah tropis, maka hanya dibagi menjadi dua musim saja, yaitu: musim hujan dan musim kemarau.

Musim semi terjadi setelah musim dingin. Siang hari menjadi lebih lama dan hangat. Tumbuhan mulai bersemi lagi, binatang-binatang melahirkan anaknya.

Musim panas adalah musim yang paling hangat dan cerah. Bunga-bunga bermekaran dan buah-buahan menjadi matang. Pada musim panas, petang hari pun masih terang.

Pada musim gugur, siang hari menjadi lebih singkat. Udara menjadi lebih sejuk. Daun-daun mulai berguguran. Beberapa burung terbang ke tempat yang lebih hangat.

Musim dingin adalah musim yang paling dingin. Di musim ini, langit lebih cepat gelap menjadi malam hari. Tumbuhan berhenti tumbuh dan pohon-pohon tidak berdaun.

Musim hujan atau musim basah adalah musim dengan ciri meningkatnya curah hujan di suatu wilayah dibandingkan biasanya dalam jangka waktu tertentu secara tetap. Musim hujan hanya dikenal di wilayah dengan iklim tropis. Secara teknis meteorologi, musim hujan dianggap mulai terjadi apabila curah hujan dalam tiga dasarian berturut-turut telah melebihi 100 mm per meter persegi per dasarian dan berlanjut terus. Apabila hal ini belum terpenuhi namun curah hujan telah tinggi kondisinya dianggap sebagai peralihan musim (pancaroba).

Musim kemarau atau musim kering adalah musim di daerah tropis yang dipengaruhi oleh sistem muson. Untuk dapat disebut musim kemarau, curah hujan per bulan harus di bawah 60 mm per bulan (atau 20 mm per dasarian) selama tiga dasarian berturut-turut.
