Now that I feel like I've got a handle on my free time again, I'll make another run at the whole blogging thing. I really love doing it, but I guess it's not a high enough priority. I'm gonna work to change that. It's America's new favorite pasttime!

Anyway... at the risk of becoming the America's Next Top Model Blog (actually, would that be so bad?), I didn't even know there was a 2 hour special going on last night! Luckily, I was home to watch the whole thing (since I wasn't last week and had to see the rerun show on Tuesday).

So, the top 3 is obviously going to be Joanie, Danielle, and Jade. They're going to keep Jade around because she's better than Sara (though Sara would make a great Maxim-type model), and she's better than Furonda (who is somehow still on? She's way too skinny, and her hair is always ratty, and she's doesn't seem like she has a model bone structure going on. I mean, she's not bad looking, especially compared to Jade, but Furonda is not a Top Model).

There's no way they're going to pick Jade because... well, she's Jade. There is no way to get around that personality.

And how happy was I to see that Joanie was the CoverGirl of the week last week? She's my top pick now - and has been for a while. I wanted Kari at first, but she had to much thickness going on to be a Top Model. She's another who could be a good "men's" model (cause she's got boobs). Actually, Joanie's boobs are pretty much perfect as far I can tell. And she's awesome. I loved seeing her and Danielle in the special after the show. They are pretty damn funny.

So I was thinking about how much I love Top Model... and with respect to this blog (SEX), how much I love masturbating (at least when I'm single). So, here's my poll question - you can answer in the comments - which is better for you, 2 hours of "your Top Model" or 2 hours of masturbation. I'm actually going to go with the former since after 2 hours, I'd be pretty fucking sore (pun intended).

Girls' Night

So there's this new teacher at school that I pursued hardcore earlier this year. Not in the sexual way (unfortunately; she's got a boyfriend), but just as a friend. There aren't a lot of "cool" teachers at my school (there are a lot who think they're cool), so when a new one comes along, it's worth my while to try to make friends. It certainly makes school easier when I can spend more of my free time (not that there's all that much of it) with people I like rather than people I'm forced to be with.

Anyway, we've become pretty good school friends, and have started hanging out outside of school. I was even invited to her birthday party a while back. Now, I'm invited to "Girls' Night" with her friends (who are not as cool as she is - I know from meeting them at the birthday party - but we'll see). If nothing else, it will probably take me to places I haven't been (they're a different sort of set of girls than my kind).

The fact that my new friend - let's get around to calling her... Melissa... is totally hot. Not Monica Leigh hot, but we'll use her as the comparison. Unfortunately, her friends (with whom I'd probably have a better chance, since they're mostly single) are not as hot. Melissa is definitely the true gem of the friend circle. And she's from the Midwest... so I'll call her Melissa Midwest to really drive up the traffic through here. :)

Whatever the case, Joy is excited and hopeful that I'll have some good stories to tell upon my return. We shall see.

Here's another thing: Gina has the lowest self-esteem because she totally messed it up early on. She is probably not going to recover from that. Good, because she's totally ugly anyway. Because they rerun their shows. I don't have a Tivo. Sometimes I'm not home. Sometimes when I know I'm not going to be home, I forget to set the VCR. EG: Last night, I forgot to set up for the Top Model reunion show, went to a holiday party, remembered half way there, and there was nothing I could do.

But there was something UPN could do! They could show the episode next Tuesday! Fuck yeah!

WB does the same thing with Related (yeah, I'm sucked in to that one, for fucks sake, why????). It's on Mondays and Wednesdays. 4 pretty girls with so many wonderful problems. Yeah, it's pretty retarded, but I usually just have it on when I'm working on lessons (which happens a lot on Monday nights since I don't ever feel like doing it over the weekend). Tried to find some pictures of the girls right now, but couldn't come up with any of the whole cast. I didn't try too hard, though. I like that they're pretty, but not so pretty that they're not believable.

And since I've admitted to watching Related, I might as well say I'm anxiously anticipatin the new season of Beauty and the Geek. I watched the last 2 episodes of the last one and it was fun in a drinking game sort of way. So, I'll probably invite Joy over and we can make that our during-the-week drinking night. Of America's Next Top Model! Duh!

So, yeah... I wasn't suprised at all that Nicole won. Obvious reason: She's white. The past two winners have been women of color, and 2 of the last 3 have been "edgy." So pretty much it was time for a simple white girl. Nothing wrong with that; Nicole did look beautiful in pretty much all of her pictures.

I knew that Bre wasn't going to win after the Red Bull incident, and Nik wasn't going to win because her personality wasn't there. So, when it was down to those three, the choice was pretty obvious.

Where the hell did the time go?

Anyway... the winery trip with Joy was awesome! Nothing like getting free drinks all day! Of course, we ended up buying a shit ton of wine too... so I imagine the wineries still get a pretty good margin on the free samples.

As we were getting drunk Saturday night, the alcohol started talking to me... it was saying how perfect Joy was. Okay, sure, I've thought about it before (who hasn't!)... but she's my best friend. But then, don't people always say that it's best when your best friend is your (in this case) life partner? I think they also say that when you're drunk, the truth comes out...

In other news, my team won yesterday! I'm talking bout basketball! I love it! Sure, the WNBA is great, but the women up in there are kind of scary... (it's true! admit it!) And, the guys in NBA just know how to play some f'in basketball. Every year, my appreciation for the sport grows by leaps and bounds. It started in college, and Joy and I probably learned more than any woman (outside of the WNBA) really needs to know about basketball. We're such tomboys. We'll be going to a couple games this year, so that's exciting.

I want to write more about the Joy thing, but it's hard to put the conflict of emotions into words. We could save some money if we moved in together, though... (so, instead of being serious, I'll just make cheeky comments)

I'm still getting in the habit of posting again... y'know, divulging every little detail of my life. Sometimes I just forget... and sometimes I have to get to school so early in the morning that I don't have time (morning is my "usual" posting time).

Joy and I are going on a Sideways-style tour of Wine Country this weekend! She's busting out of work early and we're going away for a weekend of drinking! Doesn't get much better than that! :)

Yes, I realize this certainly narrows down the number of places I could possibly be living... but not all that much.

It's almost like starting over

Starting the blog again after the summer... Starting a new school year. Like a whole new beginning for me.

To catch up a bit... nothing big this summer. I only had sex with myself. I wasn't ready to get it on with another human being just yet. I think I am now... ;)

The other web/computers teacher left for another school (in suburbs, I heard... loser.) Anyway, so that leaves me in charge of all the web/computers classes. Yup, me. I'm the computers teacher. Kind of sad, eh? When the best teacher they have for the computing classes is a Econ major. At least I had a year teaching with Dave so I've got lesson plans and everything. Hopefully I'll be contributing to the start of even more teen-angsty weblogs. ;)

I'm also still teaching personal finance (which is awesome since I don't have to do Econ then... yeah, I really don't like teaching Econ. I like the subject, but teaching it to high school kids seems somewhat pointless). Anyway, I love teaching personal finance since the kids I teach (and all kids, I suppose, for that matter) need to learn as much as possible about it. Every person I can save from going into debt, the better.

So between the computers and personal finance, I'm totally having a great time this year.

One other bonus... they (being the administration) needed a new econ teacher (since they can't count on me anymore. Why they didn't just hire a new computer teacher, I don't know, but I guess they're probably harder to come by?) ... and the new Econ teacher is hot. Hawt. She's totally styling it out with her outfits, and I can't help but want to grab her juicy booty. I haven't spent too much time with her (since we don't teach the same classes, there's not a lot to be said just yet, except like "You're hot! Wanna make out?"). I've had a couple interactions, though, when she's been asking new-teacher kind of stuff and stuff about the department. The point is, I'm not sure which way she swings. Odds are, it's not my way... but who knows what a little alcohol after work will do? ;)

It's not that I got tired of the blog this time. It's not that I'm finding this blogging thing takes a lot of work. My excuse this time is much deeper and potentially more emotional than that.

Amber broke up with me last week. She said she's found someone else and that was it. I don't want to go into details about it since I've already rehashed it with all of my friends (and Joy and I have shared tears and ice cream several times). I'm at least proud of the fact that she had the guts to tell me straight out and not start cheating on me or anything. That, in part, demonstrates why she was such a good person. And why she will be missed. But, my philosophy on break-ups is this: Tear it off like a Band-Aid and move on. I've seen too many friends moping for too long over people who really weren't worth it. I haven't spoken to Amber since last Tuesday and I don't plan to. That's the way break-ups in my world work. This isn't some Ross and Rachel BullShit that goes on for 9 years. This is the real world, and if someone breaks up with you, I say Take it like a Man.

I was pretty down for a while, and most of the Bravado alluded to in the previous paragraph comes from the fact that it's been a week since it happened. I know it will take longer than that to really get over it, but for now, at least, I am rolling up my sleeves (not that I have any since it's summer) and getting back to work (and by work, I mean doing not all that much during the day, and going out to pick up chicks at night). :)

Last night, Joy and I went out dancing (salsa), but she got tired pretty quick. It's okay, I'm like that too when it's not summah.

Instead of condolences in your comments, I'd prefer break-up philosophies... just to see what other people have to say about it. This is always my question: If you break up with someone, do you really want to get back together? If you want to answer it, go ahead. If you'd like to say something else that's on your mind, that's fine too.

In between being the worst and least consistent blogger EVAR, I do check my email... and sometimes I get comments... other times - straight email! (Not in that sexual way... just email directly to me)

I got one yesterday from a soldier in Iraq (yes, I was somewhat stunned). I will keep his anonymity just cause I don't know how it works... but he said that my site is not blocked by the firewall there (I'm sure the Army, Navy, etc. have some pretty humogenous firewall action going on), and that he likes the stuff I post here (for many reasons... if you know what I mean... and I think you do).

So, I guess I don't really have much else to say about that... but I just wanted to give a shout out to all the troops out there reading my blog! You guys are awesome! I like to think that between you guys fighting for us, and my teaching our kids that we're helping to make the world a better place.

Also, if Blogspot sites are not blocked by the firewall (or whatever it is), let me tell you! there are a lot better sites than this one if you need a little help in that department (if you know what I mean... and again, I think you do).
