A dramatic story with a tragic end. The so-called KB-man was for many years employed by the Royal Library in Stockholm where he had access to precious books, books that he stole and resold at auction in Germany. When his crime was revealed he lost his job, his family and also to end his life. He was arrested by police but released after a period in custody. A few days later he died in a powerful explosion in his apartment.
On April 12, SVT initiates recording of the new drama series “Library Thief”, a three-part series following a script inspired by KB-man’s fate. Daniel Lind Lagerlof stands for directing and Malin Lagerlof has written the script.
At the heart of the story is John, an ambitious social and boktjuv, who after losing the job as literary scholar goes to work at the Royal Library in Stockholm. He climbs rapidly and realizes that he can steal from the gargantuan archives without being detected.
The reality, however, have time to catch up with him and soon falls lives together. An internal investigation team consisting of three librarians try to clarify where the missing books had gone. Through a discreet and methodical detective work, they begin to imagine what has happened.
The role of John is played Gustaf Skarsgård. In other roles can be seen among others Reuben Sallmander,Gunilla Röör, Maria Kulle, Lil Terselius, Claes Ljungmark and Liv Mjönes.
The series consists of three one-hour episodes is planned to be aired on SVT1 during the spring of 2011.

Source

The Royal Library is not on Fleming Street. But the books that Gustaf Skarsgård posting on the table in front of Reuben Sallmander is definitely the real thing, although not the most valuable treasures from the Library’s collections, but in all cases. The potential need for a commemorative book on the Swedish Academy as Reuben Sallmander planning to publish.
That is, not he, but his role character, Tom Goldman, chief administrative officer at the Royal Library. One might otherwise think that he was head of the City of Stockholm’s sports management, since it is sports administration which in reality is in the stylish rooms on Fleming Street that was once the headquarters AB separators.
There are ongoing recording of Library thief, a drama in three episodes to be aired on SVT in sometime late this year or early next.
- “It’s not a docudrama, nor is it a drama that is based on a true story, it is a drama inspired by a true story,” stresses director Daniel Lind Lagerlof, who is careful distinctions.
The events that gave inspiration is bokstölderna revealed at the Royal Library 2004. The thief turned out to be one of the library’s own, a trusted official who blew himself and his dwelling in the air when he had uncovered. It was reported extensively in the news media when it went, and throughout history have also been incorporated in longer stories, including an award-winning radio documentary last year.
But that is something else that Daniel Lind Lagerlof and writer Malin Lagerlof are looking for.
Reality-sounds themselves are almost never fully told, “said Daniel Lind Lagerlof when we talk for a very late lunch break.
-In the drama, however, you can build up tension and connecting the events to a real story. In fact remains many questions unanswered, as the question “why” in the case of library thief, but where the drama can provide answers. The opportunities to experiment is much larger, it’s a completely different approach.
-We have taken on the external events in history, but facts alone are not sufficient for a three-hour drama, it would be uninteresting.
And Gustaf Skarsgard, who plays the thief himself – John Manéus born Jackson – a documentary out that also requires an entirely different type of responsibility, greater fidelity in the details and more by taking into account the people involved. Consequently, he has not read up on what is known about the real library thief.
-No, no, I relate to the role myself only figure who is an entirely fictional character, then I can also feel free when I do my reading, “he says.
Gustaf Skarsgårds John is a man who comes from a modest background, and there are economic problems that causes him to start stealing books at his workplace and then resell them abroad for millions and get rich in obscurity.
-He’s a man who has not had it easy, he has had to work as a barrier guard to make ends meet. He is driven partly by admiration for the successful, and the bitterness. He carries a tremendous desire revenge.
Reuben Sallmander plays one of John’s immediate superiors, an old classmate who comes from a much more wealthy social class and that it also has done well in life.
-My role-figure acts as a projection screen for John. Tom Goldman is all that John would like to be, “said Reuben Sallmander, and points out that it is no coincidence that the two have the same glasses at the scene that has just been recorded – John do not really need glasses at all.
-That’s the way a key scene. I, that is, Tom, is very keen to spend the anniversary in which the script, but could not afford. But since there has emerged an anonymous donor …
-And of course it is I, “says Gustaf Skarsgård contentedly.
Daniel Lind Lagerlof envisages Library thief first and foremost a story about class.
-If the class for real, nuanced, and without stencils, “he explains.
And so he immerses himself and the actors in a discussion about the more existential questions that the story raises, if they want to be someone other than you really are, about being in a world where you do not belong, to take small liberties , make the small deviations from the norm and convention, which some – but not all – can afford but it will sour after, to climb over fences at times, as Reuben Sallmander puts it.
“But the most serious offense committed, as John says Gustaf Skarsgård, there is still that he is compromising on family and children for the sake of social climbing, he projected his own self-loathing of those who truly love him. It is much worse than bokstölderna, I think.
The late lunch break is over, and it is time to go back to the borrowed office space in Separatorhuset and continue recording. Time and again, they do their scenes in front of the camera, until midsummer, when the filming will be completed.
“It’s actually film it here, not video. This puts a bit more demanding, and it provides extra nervous about recording, “says Gustaf Skarsgård.

It is the Spanish theme in the kitchen and all the truths to be up on the table, preferably with the help of best friend of truth wine.

Gustaf Skarsgård praised right now for his role as Hamlet at the City Theatre. But in this week’s episode of Mauro & Plura kitchen deals, inter alia, on two Canadian humrars be or not be. Gustav may be the task of putting them alive in boiling water. Tova Magnusson was nominated for a Guldbagge for his role in the movie girl. Currently she directs a romantic comedy in which Mauro Scocco do film music. Together with Mauro Scocco and Plura Jonsson squall actors well into the night about sex on film and how it is to stand in his father’s shadow.

Gustaf Skarsgård, who is currently doing Hamlet at Stockholm’s theater, posing here as a fine hat. That he did not take off, he claimed that he had “a bad hair day”. In the background is me who has just interviewed him and sulked. Photo: Cornelia Nordstrom

Gustaf Skarsgård, you turn 30 this year. And I guess you think it is high time that the media sees you as an individual and not as a son of Stellan Skarsgård. Am I right?

- The very question proves you you have it.

I saw you at Stadsteatern the other night. You were probably the most radical Hamlet I have seen and then I have seen some, by Ulf Palme Royal Dramatic Theater in 1960 and onwards.

- Wow, that was a compliment.

Can it help me to get you to respond a bit more on my next questions?

- I feel I softened a bit.

Ulf Palme left the theater completely after that role, Jarl Kulle became ill, Jan Malmsjö for after the show to New York with a back vodka to power the Danish prince from the system. What makes Hamlet with you?

- Something was there. I played the premiere on steroid tablets and antibiotics, I was a wreck. I’ve never been sick before a premiere. Adrenaline usually contain a clear right there and then you can collapse together. It was as if I am affirming all degrading, to play from a broken situation.

Hamlet has always been regarded as part of the role of young actors. Why?

- All do not like it, but I knew immediately when I read the piece that I did. He is in so many different extreme positions and situations that you instinctively feel that there must be a joy to play. Then, I also believe that there is something paradoxical in the depths of this character that makes it felt to be true.

Several small gang of young beundrarinnor stood up and applauded you for curtain call. It’s not just critics who love you, you are a teen idol, too.

- Fun. Otherwise, they have quite deliberately approached me to do the thing where the girls’ idol. I have tried to concentrate on the professional role. Being a female idol is so perishable. If you have an audience that understands that you have a craft to make it is easier to build a career on, I think.

“Theater is the actor’s art center,” it said, Stellan Skarsgård to me when I interviewed him when he was as old as you are now, in January 1981. Do you agree with him?

- I agree.

Though he is never on a stage now? Except when he will hand out Guldbagge Awards.

- No, it was probably a long time ago.

Will you also give up the theater in the future, do you think?

- I hope not, I love to play theaters.

But money is simply not there.

- It is not important to me. If you want to get rich, you can go to trade and become an economist. It’s hard to get rich even if you’re shooting. And any time I want to do both film and theater.

When I talked to your dad that time for 29 years ago, when I remember that he said he wanted to be taken to “seriously serious”. You? Do you have any comment on that?

- No.

I know you are sick of questions about your dad, but I put no such I made a professional blunder. So, you are super talented in your own right, but still: Räkmackan and wrong side. What is his existence gave you free in your career? And how has it been detrimental?

(Long silence and very deep sigh.)
- It’s just so damn boring, I have answered those questions since I was 6 years. Search Google Answers.

But I’d rather hear how you formulate them at this time.

- In every fucking article that has been written about me for twenty years I have been answering those questions and had to answer the same damn things. What should I respond? Yes, it’s shit time that there is always talk about it. Even now, certainly 40 percent of your questions were related to it. It is so tiring and it’s wrong side.

Is there anything positive?

- That I have never had to do anything but focus on developing the profession in order to get interest around me, the interest was there from the beginning. The fact that I was a native of the industry, I was in Prima ballerina when I was six.
- Another obvious advantage is the knowledge that I have received from my father through upbringing and genetics.

<I’ve actually Googled you and now I will ask if that was the first to read about you there, I crouch me already: In 2006 you should have knocked down some of Stureplan, the next day you sat in an interview with a cast. The blame you since the snowstorms or alternatively Korpfotboll fights with killer robots from outer space. What was it that had happened?

- I do not remember.

Your dad likes to talk politics. Do you?

- No, it’s not my job. But sometimes I can not help but speak.

You are palestinavän, it is true? Do you want to develop it?

- I had a Palestinian scarf on me during Guldbaggegalan last year, while it dropped bombs over Gaza.

And just today, it is Holocaust Day.

- Is it? Then I’ll just have to bear gasp of date. (When we separated a little later he says: “I get so tired of people should not be able to express sympathy for them in Gaza, but that it be linked to anti-Semitism. Would I be accused of it, where would all my Jewish friends be very surprised”.)

<We’re talking about your future instead. Will you find yourself overseas or would you like to stay in Stockholm?

- I love Stockholm, it is my home and my roots. But I have a problem with the dark and cold and I’ve been here a long time, I panic and want to leave.

Where?

- Perhaps to Rio de Janeiro. There is kind of life-pulse. Where you dance samba.

Samba? But I guess that just you will never stand for “Let’s dance”.

- It allows you to jump up and fethaja.

I suspect that you will not want to answer the questions I have left, so I ask myself: What had you wanted to talk about?

- Not really about anything if you do not pull up anything I want to talk about. And when we talk to say about it. But I definitely do not want to talk about these stuff that you have asked about, so it is just.

But I think you in ten years will find that it is a pleasure to do just that.

- It’s not that it is taboo to mention my father or brother, but there is always the context that everything is inserted, fixed course, they are an important part of my reality, so if I choose to take up the subject himself, then I think it’s ok.
(Two of all the issues that I had recorded, but not approval, ask:

1. Gösta Ekman, the son of the then very aware Hasse Ekman and grandson of Gosta senior, said long ago is often quoted: “I was very clear that sperm!” It would be good, you almost could argue, too?
2. Successful parents can be a heavy burden to bear. And your dad must be difficult to have as a professional yardstick. He makes Phantom’s voice in “Hamlet.” Haunted him for you otherwise?)

He will make a Short film based on Johan Kling’s acclaimed debut novel People of no Significance

Gustaf Skarsgård, 29, is the son of Stellan and brother of Alexander Skarsgård. He plays one of the roles in the upcoming Puss directed by Johan Kling who made Darling – and a year ago came out with the novel People of no Significance

The book takes place in a day and is about a man in his 30s whose love relationship and career in Stockholm’s advertising world have gone completely jammed.
“Johan and Gustaf found each other during the filming of Puss, realized that they like the same things and became quite close to each other,” says producer Fredrik Heinig of St. Paul Film producing the film.
Suitable
“Gustaf wanted to direct them and we discussed what he could do to begin with. So he read the book, asked the question and John said yes. After that, he has not put himself in Gustafs script work.”

The film will begin shooting in August and will be shown on SVT next year.

Fredrik Heinig says “People… is a story suitable for very Short film format. Making a feature film of the book was not what Johan Kling had been interested in.”

Some actors are not clear, but Gustaf Skarsgård will stay behind the camera this time.
“My ambition is to work more with Gustaf. He has an incredible eye and is an inspiring person.”

People of no Significance
Screenplay: Gustaf Skarsgård
Director: Gustaf Skarsgård
Producer: Fredrik Heinig and Alexander Rönnberg, St. Paul Film AB

Swedish Film Institute and Swedish Television announced on Saturday next year’s short film makers. Of approximately 150 proposals received, six new film projects awarded production support. The films will be premiered at the Göteborg Film Festival in 2011 and then shown on SVT.

Hamlet was of course a Dane, not a Swede, but right now there’s a new Swedish Hamlet playing at Stockholm’s Stadsteatern, and that warrants a closer look at the melancholy prince.
“I’ve always wanted to play Hamlet, ever since I studied at Scenskolan (Swedish National Academy of Mime and Acting),” says Gustaf Skarsgård, son of Stellan and the latest Hamlet on Swedish stage.
“It’s a part full of contradictions, it’s a lot of fun.”
Does he see himself as a link in a 400-year long tradition?
“Not at all. I have to proceed from the play itself in a sort of disrespectful way. I can’t anchor it in tradition. It has to be flesh and blood.” Skarsgård’s own father Stellan played Hamlet in 1985 on TV. But that doesn’t scare him.
“No, I feel like it’s mine. It’s my part. I have always felt that.” Skarsgård says the challenge, or at least one of them, is to find a balance. Hamlet is no hero, he’s a coward in many ways, he explains. He’s a poet. “Perhaps he’d have liked to be an actor. He’s a sensitive kind of guy.”
Did he talk to his father about the part at all?
“We’ve talked about is, since I’m doing it now. But we haven’t talked about his work. He’s too considerate to do something like that. And I’d never let anyone else’s expertise come in between me and my Hamlet. It would just never work.”
