Introduction

As already mentioned in my latest tutorial How Future AI Could Become a True Human Thinking Assistant AI should evolve for a better independent-thinking where I gave some ideas about and apparently there are already studies about it. We will have a look at some of them below.

Artificial Intelligence is evolving at an extraordinary speed.

What only a few years ago seemed like science fiction is now becoming part of everyday life:

• proactive digital assistants,

Recent developments and new tools released by companies such as Anthropic and OpenAI demonstrate how rapidly AI capabilities are evolving. While many of these innovations are designed to improve productivity, automation, protection, and digital assistance, they also raise important ethical and security concerns.

Today, AI has become a true double-edged sword.

Don’t forget what Isaac Newton said: every force has an equal and opposite reaction. In the context of AI, every technological advancement that strengthens protection can also be mirrored by an equivalent capacity for misuse, abuse, or unintended consequences. This balance is not merely physical, but also digital, ethical, and societal in nature.

On one side, AI can strengthen cybersecurity by helping detect anomalies, identify threats faster, automate defense systems, and assist security experts in protecting digital infrastructures.

Introduction

Since the beginning of the internet, FREE services have been one of the most powerful tools used to attract users. “FREE” sounds good—so why not try it?

Most people think: If it costs nothing, I lose nothing. But in reality, if a company offers a FREE service, there is always a business model behind it.

No company can survive by giving away services forever without recovering its investments. Servers cost money, developers must be paid, infrastructure requires maintenance, and investors expect profits.

This means one simple truth:

If the product is free, often YOU are part of the product.

This does not automatically mean something evil is happening, but it means users must understand the system behind these offers.

The internet taught us this lesson for decades through FREE email services, FREE social media platforms, FREE search engines, and now we see the same logic expanding rapidly into FREE Artificial Intelligence tools.

The question is no longer:

“Is it free?”

but rather:

“What am I giving in exchange?”

This is where #CriticalTHINKing becomes essential. Let us explore how this system works.

1. The SYSTEM Behind

Nothing on the internet is truly free.

When a company offers FREE services, it usually works through one or more of these models:

A. Advertising Revenue

Platforms offer free access while earning money through advertisements. Examples include search engines, video platforms, and social media.

The more time you spend there, the more ads you see, and the more profit they generate. Your attention becomes the product.

B. Data Collection

Your clicks, searches, preferences, habits, locations, contacts, and behavior create valuable data.

This data helps companies:

• improve their services
• personalize recommendations
• target advertisements
• predict your future behavior
• sell marketing access to advertisers

Sometimes users pay not with money, but with personal information.

C. Freemium Strategy

The FREE version is only the entrance door.

You are allowed to use basic functions, but once you depend on the service, advanced features require payment.

This is common with cloud storage, productivity apps, and now AI services.

“FREE becomes an entry point into a broader service ecosystem.”

D. Ecosystem Dependency

The goal is often not only one product, but your long-term dependency.

Once your files, habits, contacts, workflow, and preferences are inside one system, leaving becomes difficult.

Convenience creates loyalty. Dependency creates profit.

2. The Transparent Surfer: An Illusion

Many people still believe they are “invisible” when surfing the internet.

This is a dangerous illusion.

You are not invisible.

You are traceable.

A simple comparison helps:

On the road, your car has a registration plate. Authorities can identify the owner. On the internet, your device also has identifiers.

A. Your IP Address

Every device connected to the internet uses an IP address.

This works like a digital address.

It helps websites, services, and providers know where requests come from. Even if it does not always show your full identity directly, it creates a strong trace.

B. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser.

They remember:

• your logins
• your shopping carts
• your preferences
• your browsing history
• your repeated visits

They help convenience—but also tracking. Sometimes across multiple websites.

C. Device Fingerprinting

Even without cookies, systems can identify users through:

• browser type
• screen resolution
• installed fonts
• device settings
• language preferences
• operating system

This creates a “digital fingerprint.”

You may think you are anonymous. Often, you are simply easier to track than you imagine.

D. Social Media Amplification

Many users voluntarily share:

• location
• family information
• personal opinions
• routines
• professional details
• emotional states

Sometimes people protect their front door better than their digital life.

Transparency becomes self-created surveillance.

3. And What About FREE #AI, Example #ChatGPT?

Artificial Intelligence does not make an exception.

When people use FREE AI tools, they often focus only on convenience:

But they rarely ask:

What happens behind the system?

• highly specialized engineers
• billions in infrastructure investment

This is not cheap. Someone pays. And someone expects returns.

B. User Interaction Has Value

Every interaction can improve systems:

• better understanding of human language
• improved model behavior
• usage pattern analysis
• feature optimization
• future product development

Even anonymized usage can create strategic value. This is why understanding terms of use matters. Not paranoia—awareness.

C. The New Question

Instead of asking:

“Can AI help me?”

we should also ask:

“How does AI benefit from helping me?”

That is #ReverseTHINKing.

Not rejection. Understanding. Not fear. Responsibility.

D. Recent Discussions (01-05-2026)

Recently, discussions on #SocialMedia and in parts of the press raised questions about how major AI companies—including #OpenAI and #ChatGPT—may evolve their FREE and paid models in the future.

This should not create panic.

It should create awareness.

Technology evolves.

Business models evolve.

Users must evolve too.

Blind trust is never a strategy.

Introduction

We are evolving within two interconnected worlds:

• the #RealWorld, where actions have visible, immediate consequences
• the #VirtualWorld, where actions seem distant, abstract… yet are increasingly powerful

These two worlds are not separate anymore—they constantly influence each other.

In 2014, I published an article called “Internet the Savant Child,” followed in 2024 by “Internet the Savant Child (PART 2): Will AI Make the Internet and People More Intelligent?” Make sure to read those articles first to better understand the evolution of this reflection.

We are entering a paradox.

Artificial Intelligence can process, generate, and deliver information faster than any human being can think. Yet, at the same time, our ability to truly understand what we learn is not accelerating at the same pace.

This creates a dangerous illusion:
Access to knowledge is not the same as understanding.

In a world driven by #AI, simply learning faster is not enough anymore. We must rethink HOW we learn, WHY we learn, and WHAT we do with what we learn.

This is not an evolution. This is a necessary reboot.

1. #THINKReboot — Rethinking LEARNing in Education and Society

Today’s education systems are still built on a model of:

• memorization
• linear progression
• delayed application

But AI has already broken this model.

We must shift toward:

• #PracTICE first → #THEORY second
• real-world problem solving
• immediate application of knowledge

Learners should experience first, then understand.

Why?

Because in the age of AI:

• Information is abundant
• Understanding is rare
• Critical thinking is essential

This is where #ReverseTHINKing becomes crucial:

Question what seems obvious. Challenge what is given. Understand before accepting.

Education must no longer produce students who know. It must produce individuals who can think, question, and adapt.

2. Universities and Knowledge Acceleration: From Theory to Real-Time Insight

Universities can no longer operate as slow knowledge institutions.

They must become:
real-time analysis hubs

A stronger educational model would look like this:

• Universities generate AI-supported analyses of real-world challenges
• These insights are translated into weekly practical knowledge outputs
• The press distributes this knowledge to society

This creates a new ecosystem:

• Research → AI → Practice → Public Understanding

Why is this critical?

Because knowledge cycles are accelerating:

• What is relevant today may be outdated tomorrow
• Static education models cannot keep up

Universities must not only teach — they must continuously interpret the world.

3. PRESS and TV Science Programs: Making Knowledge Public

This is the missing bridge.

Research without public communication is ineffective.

The Press and TV science programs must play a central democratic role: not entertainment, but public intellectual guidance.

They should:

• publish weekly AI-supported university insights
• explain scientific findings in understandable language
• confront misinformation with verified knowledge
• help citizens connect education with daily life

Imagine if every week: people received practical scientific explanations about:

• education
• technology
• AI risks
• health
• democracy
• ethics
• social coexistence

This would create:
a culture of national continuous learning

Instead of permanent scandal consumption, media could become a pillar of #LifeLongLEARNing.

Information should not only inform. It should educate.

4. Governments and Administrations: From Regulation to Continuous LEARNing

Governments often react slowly. AI does not.

This creates a structural gap:

• Technology evolves exponentially
• Regulation evolves linearly

To close this gap, administrations must:

• implement continuous AI training programs
• integrate data-driven decision-making
• develop adaptive policy frameworks

A static government in a dynamic world becomes ineffective.

Public institutions must embody:

• #LifeLongLEARNing
• #ProactiveTHINKing
• #ETHICS in technology use

Without this, they risk losing control over the systems they are meant to guide.

5. The Missing Piece: The Individual Learner

Systems can evolve — but without individual transformation, nothing truly changes.

In the age of AI, every learner must develop:

• information filtering skills
• deep understanding habits
• critical questioning reflexes

The danger is clear:
AI can make us feel intelligent without requiring us to think.

This is where my philosophy becomes essential:

• #OpenMIND → Accept new possibilities
• #CriticalTHINKing → Question outputs
• #ReverseTHINKing → Break mental automatisms
• #ProactiveTHINKing → Act with intention

Learning is no longer about acquiring answers. It is about learning how to think in a world full of instant answers.

Conclusion

#LifeLongLEARNing is no longer an option.

But here is the real challenge:

Learning faster without understanding creates a society that knows more… but understands less.

If we fail to adapt:

• Education becomes obsolete
• Institutions become reactive
• Individuals become dependent

If we succeed:

• Learning becomes meaningful
• Thinking becomes independent
• Society becomes resilient

The question is no longer:

“How fast can we learn?”

But rather:

“How deeply are we still able to understand?”

The real danger of AI is not artificial intelligence—but natural intelligence that stops questioning itself.

So the real question is not:

But rather:

Introduction

Can a society remain peaceful if freedom is no longer guided by responsibility, but only limited by punishment?

This question is not theoretical. It emerges from everyday life, from simple observations that reveal deeper societal shifts. A seemingly trivial place—a bus stop just a few centimeters from a private home—can become a microcosm of a much larger issue: the way individuals understand, interpret, and sometimes misuse freedom.

“What is striking is not who behaves in a certain way, but how freedom is perceived.” Increasingly, behavior suggests that freedom is understood as the absence of limits rather than the presence of responsibility. Noise, provocation, disrespect of private property, verbal aggression, and even defamation on social media are often justified under the banner of “freedom.”

But is that truly freedom—or a misunderstanding of it?

In democratic societies such as Luxembourg and across Europe, freedom is inseparable from law, from the constitution, and from a shared ethical framework that allows people to live together peacefully—#VivreEnsemble.

Freedom without responsibility risks becoming arbitrariness.
Freedom without ethics risks becoming egoism.
Freedom without limits risks becoming harm.

At what point does freedom become an infringement on the rights of others—and therefore a violation of the law?

Different countries, different interpretations

Freedom is not understood in exactly the same way everywhere. Cultural norms, educational systems, political histories, and social expectations all shape how individuals perceive their rights and responsibilities.

In some societies, freedom is strongly linked to collective harmony and mutual respect. In others, it is interpreted more as individual autonomy, sometimes without immediate consideration of its impact on others.

This difference creates a fundamental challenge in increasingly diverse societies: People may share the same physical space, but not the same mental framework of what is acceptable behavior.

This is where misunderstanding begins.

A behavior considered “normal” or “harmless fun” by one person may be experienced as disrespect, provocation, or even aggression by another. Without a shared understanding of limits, tensions increase—not necessarily because of bad intentions, but because of different internal reference systems.

#ReverseTHINKing moment:
Instead of asking “Why do others behave incorrectly?”, a more powerful question is: → “What definition of freedom is guiding this behavior?”

LIBERALISM misinterpreted

Modern liberalism has brought essential freedoms: freedom of speech, freedom of movement, individual rights, and protection against abuse of power. These are fundamental achievements of democratic societies.

However, a critical shift can be observed:
Freedom is increasingly interpreted as “I can do what I want”, rather than
“I am free within a framework that protects everyone.”

This misinterpretation leads to what could be called a FUN-Society mindset:

• Provocation becomes entertainment
• Boundaries are tested for amusement
• Respect is seen as optional
• Responsibility is replaced by “as long as it’s not punished”

But here lies the danger:

If the only limit to behavior is punishment, then ethics disappear.
People do not act responsibly—they simply calculate risks.

This creates a reactive society instead of a responsible one.

Freedom without internal limits leads to:

• Hate speech
• Defamation on social media
• Disrespect of privacy and private property
• Increasing normalization of incivility

Freedom then becomes a tool of domination, not coexistence.

Constitution – the foundation (Example: Luxembourg / Europe)

In democratic systems, freedom is never absolute. It is defined, protected, and limited by the constitution.

The constitution establishes a balance between:

• Individual freedoms
• Protection of others
• Stability of society

In Luxembourg, as in most European democracies, fundamental rights include:

• Freedom of expression
• Respect for private life
• Protection of human dignity
• Equality before the law

My turial about the importance of a Constitution (in French):

• La constitution d’un pays : c’est quoi ? Pourquoi est-elle si importante ?

But these rights are interconnected.

For example:

• Freedom of expression does not include the right to defame
• Personal freedom does not justify violating private property
• Individual behavior must respect the dignity and rights of others

At the European level, frameworks like the European Convention on Human Rights clearly state that freedoms may be limited when necessary to protect:

• Public order
• The rights of others
• Safety and morality

This is a key principle:
Freedom exists within limits—not outside of them.

What is particularly—“specific—and sometimes not immediately intuitive for newcomers as well as for younger generations…”—are Articles 20 and 21 of the Constitution of Luxembourg, which address two fundamental pillars of democratic coexistence: private property and private life.

These principles, often taken for granted, define clear boundaries that are not always visible in everyday behavior. They require not only legal understanding, but also a strong sense of respect, responsibility, and ethical awareness.

These laws are not restrictions of freedom—they are conditions for coexistence.

However, a critical issue arises: Many individuals only become aware of these limits when they are sanctioned.

This leads to a dangerous mindset:

But law is not designed to replace education or ethics.

A society that relies only on punishment is already in difficulty, because it means that:

• Internal responsibility is weakening
• Respect is no longer self-evident
• Social cohesion depends on enforcement rather than awareness

Conclusion

For a society to function peacefully, freedom must be understood not only as a right—but as a responsibility.

A sustainable #VivreEnsemble cannot rely solely on laws, sanctions, and control mechanisms. It requires something deeper:
education, awareness, ethical reflection, and a shared understanding of limits.

The real limit of freedom is not the law.
The real limit of freedom is the moment it harms another human being.

If individuals are guided only by punishment, society becomes reactive, fragmented, and tense. If individuals are guided by responsibility, awareness, and ethics, society becomes stable, respectful, and peaceful.

But this raises an uncomfortable—yet necessary—question:

Is it still realistic to expect individuals to develop this awareness on their own?

Or…

Isn’t it time for institutions to take a more active role?

Governments, the press, media platforms, and educational systems—including universities—play a decisive role in shaping how freedom is understood. Not by imposing ideas, but by developing the capacity to think critically, ethically, and independently.

Perhaps what is missing is not more rules…
but a different way of thinking.

A shift from automatic reactions to conscious reflection.
From “I can do what I want” to “What are the consequences of my actions?”

This is where #ReverseTHINKing becomes essential.

Not as a theory.
But as a practical tool to question habits, challenge assumptions, and rebuild a culture of responsibility.

So the real question is no longer:
Where does freedom stop?

But rather:
Who takes responsibility for teaching where it should stop—and why?
Or a society where people understand, from within, where freedom naturally finds its limits?

As of April 2026, platforms like Instagram are flooded with highly realistic AI-generated videos. These clips are often emotional, well-produced, and convincing—yet many of them are misleading, manipulated, or entirely false.

For the average user, verification is becoming increasingly difficult. The result? A growing number of people believe what they see… without questioning it.

This is not just a technological shift. It is a cognitive shift—and potentially a societal one. We are no longer just consuming content—we are consuming constructed realities.

When Seeing Is No Longer Believing

For decades, visual content carried an implicit trust:

“If I see it, it must be real.”

That assumption is now outdated.

AI can generate:

• Fake interviews
• Altered speeches
• Emotional storytelling with no factual basis

The danger is not only the existence of fake content— but the illusion of authenticity.
