When you go on a couple’s vacation, the last thing you want is a third wheel. But for one couple staying in an Airbnb, it looks like they got one of a scaly variety.

Finding hidden rooms in an Airbnb is one thing, but potential semiaquatic reptiles? That’s another thing entirely.

TikTok user Khiya (@khiyamarta) shared her extremely specific predicament in a TikTok that has garnered 3.4 million views.

The video starts with a screenshot of an Airbnb conversation, where the user attached an image of the pool with the message, “Hi… what is in this pool?”

The video then switched to a camera zooming in on a rectangular gap on the side of the pool, which shows what looks like the underside of a crocodile or gator.

The TikToker and a man then approached the pool from the side, with the woman trying to alert the scaled object with her foot, and then the man directly bopped it with a can.

She then encouraged him to do it again, which he did.

“It moved,” she remarked.

“‘Cause I moved,” the man replied.

The man then asked the TikToker if she was “going in,” to which she replied, “No, I’m sitting back in the chair.”

She then asked the man if he was going to “walk up to it,” to which he replied that he wanted “confirmation” of what the object was.

As this all unfolded, the viral “the saxaphones are getting louder” sound played in the background.

“Mind you, the Airbnb hosts haven’t answered yet,” she added in the video description, alongside the “honeymoon” hashtag.

What Did The Comments Say?

Some viewers were terrified. “I still don’t know what this is,” one wrote.

“‘What’s in the pool’ girl what it look like,” a second quipped.

And a third added, “So, my irrational fear wasn’t so irrational after all! I mean, my fear is sharks in the pool, but close enough.”

Others felt there were more plausible explanations.

“Its a fake [crocodile] to keep wildlife out of the pool,” a fourth speculated.

“That looks like those fake floating heads people put in their pools,” a fifth echoed.

Confirming this, Khiya replied to this comment, adding, “We figure out it was a fake one without any help of our hosts.”

She also directed commenters to the comment section of one of her partner’s TikToks, where he provides more context.

“It’s a lil plastic alligator head that I think the hosts attached to a swivel,” he explained. “Whenever the water splashed, it moved so that didn’t help with the scare lol.”

He also posted a video about the strange pool item, which provides a clearer view of what looks like a plastic alligator head. It ended up amassing an enormous 28.1 million views. BroBible reached out to him via TikTok direct message.

Why Would People Put A Fake Alligator Head In An Airbnb Pool?

While there have been cases of alligators taking up residence in pools, it’s actually fairly common to put fake alligator heads into garden ponds, swimming pools, and other bodies of water.

This is because they actually work as a deterrent against potential pests like geese, ducks, and herons, among other things.

These heads are sold across Amazon, eBay, and various specialist sites like Outdoor Water Solutions.

The item description on Outdoor Water Solutions reads, “With its hand-painted detail, reflective red eyes, and lifelike floating motion, this gator mimics a real predator-scaring off unwanted wildlife while maintaining the natural beauty of your pond, koi pond, or water feature.”

An IHOP diner was stunned by the cost of her meal—specifically, a piece of toast.

The woman, Tata (@your_judgmentaltiti) posted a clip highlighting how much she was charged for five items. The grand total of her bill came out to $46.38, which includes tax but not gratuity.

It’s the cost of a single price of toast that had her doing a double take.

She begins her video by holding up her IHOP receipt. “This is crazy. $4.20 for a soda,” she points out the item before panning over to the price of “a large orange juice.” That cost her $4.79.

Once she got to the singular piece of toast, she was flabbergasted. “$4.39 for a slice of toast? Oh my God. This is insane. This is crazy,” she says off camera before her video comes to a close.

‘$50 For Pancakes Is Wild’

In the comments section of her video, throngs of people expressed their dissatisfaction with the restaurant’s pricing.

“Double what it used to be,” one person penned.

Another replied that customers would get more bang for their buck at another popular breakfast chain. “$25 at the Waffle House,” they wrote.

Someone else echoed the aforementioned sentiment, writing, “IHOP portions ot even that much. A diner serves you better.”

But there were others who defended the pricing, save for the sole slice of bread. One wrote, “Only thing crazy on the bill is $4 for toast.”

There were others who didn’t feel sympathy for Tata, stating that she should’ve read the menu more carefully before ordering. “You know the prices are listed on the menu for you to see before you order … so why are you now so surprised?” another question.

IHOP Vs. Waffle House

Both the International House of Pancakes and the home of the waffle have been serving customers since the 1950s. Waffle House first opened its doors in Georgia in 1955. IHOP’s inaugural location welcomed diners in California three years later, in 1958.

Which restaurant provides a better value for its guests depends on who you ask. According to Mashed, IHOP is the clear winner. This is largely attributed to Waffle House menu prices being “all over the place,” according to the outlet. IHOP was also praised in a write-up from the site for its 55+ senior dining discounts and kids’ menu options. Additionally, the pancake-centric restaurant’s “frequent diner reward program” received high marks. Not to mention its menu was lauded for offering more food options than its black-and-yellow-branded competitor.

But Mashed also gave high marks to Waffle House for serving more steak than any other restaurant in the U.S. The establishment was also praised for offering low-cost menu options such as the All-Star breakfast.

Waffle House Devotees Swear By Its Prices

But there are other outlets dedicated to Waffle House pricing that swear it’s the better-value option. Waffle Menus compared the cost of a classic waffle to a classic pancake meal. In 2026, the average price of a waffle at the Georgia-based franchise came in at $5.20 compared to IHOP’s $10.99 pancake plate.

The All-Star special was set at $12.10 by the website compared to the $15-$17 cost at IHOP. Coffee at Waffle House is $2.65, compared to IHOP’s $3 to $4 per cup. And the website also highlighted how all Waffle Houses are open 24/7, but its breakfast rival cannot make the same claim.

Waffle House Menu Info also provided a slew of infographics that juxtapose pricing between the two restaurants. The data presented consistently shows more affordable dining options at Waffle House.

If you’ve been watching the FIFA World Cup, you’ve probably noticed that things look a bit different.

Some of that is just us Americans getting used to soccer (and all of the advertising—I mean, “hydration” breaks). However, if you look closely and listen carefully, you’ll see that even familiar stadiums look and sound slightly different. Are we all just going to pretend that it’s normal to call SoFi Stadium “Los Angeles Stadium”? It’s in Inglewood!

While some of these changes are minor, FIFA’s other attempts to remove branding have led to some funny situations, as one TikTok user recently shared.

What’s Going On With This FIFA World Cup Stadium?

In a video with over 5.8 million views, TikTok user Dylan Gold (@dylangold) shows himself at a FIFA World Cup game. While he’s surrounded by fans, one thing that viewers won’t be able to see around him is the names of any non-FIFA-affiliated brands.

“It’s actually crazy,” Gold says.

After a second, he shows the condiment dispensers. While they have the shape of Heinz condiment dispensers, all logos have been covered with black tape.

“They blocked off all the labels for the condiments,” Gold summarizes. “No free sponsors at the World Cup.”

He then shows the scoreboard. Although the game is held at Levi’s Stadium, the Levi’s logo has been covered.

“They even blocked off Levi’s, the stadium sponsor,” Gold says.

In an email to BroBible, Gold said that he “didn’t notice any other major covered or altered branding beyond what was shown in the video,” but noted that he “wasn’t specifically looking for it.”

“Nobody at the stadium mentioned or explained it to me,” he added. “It seemed like something fans were noticing on their own and discussing amongst themselves.”

Why Are All These Logos Covered?

Gold isn’t the first to notice this logo-hiding. In fact, after the Levi’s logo on the stadium was covered, Levi’s changed its profile picture on TikTok to the shape of the covered stadium logo.

Why is all of this happening? According to Jeroen van den Berk, a member of FIFA’s communications team, it’s because FIFA games must be held in a “clean stadium” in order to protect the rights of the organization’s sponsors.

This means that, when a World Cup game is held in a stadium, all non-FIFA-affiliated branding must be removed, covered, or minimized so only the organization’s partners get the exposure they paid for. This is why the stadium itself, which is usually called “Levi’s Stadium,” is referred to only as San Francisco Bay Area Stadium during the World Cup.

Do They Have To Cover Everything?

While many understand the desire to hide the major brands, some may question if covering everything, including the condiment dispensers, is taking things a little too far.

In FIFA’s mind, it isn’t. After all, there’s more to the FIFA World Cup than what’s shown on TV. Attendees see more of the stadium than the average TV viewer — and like to post videos of their experience watching the games on social media.

FIFA knows this and uses it as a pitch to potential advertisers. The official FIFA partner page advertises that sponsors will get “exposure in and around the stadium” and “ambush marketing promotion.” Allowing some brands to get these benefits for free cheapens the offer for those looking to sponsor the events.

Viewers Think It’s A Bit Much

No matter FIFA’s reasoning for its decision, some commenters believe that the organization has taken things a bit too far.

“What stage of capitalism is this,” said a user.

“Its dead— THEIR stadium,” added another. “why should Levi’s Stadium be forced to cover their logo.”

“Bro i’m working the world cup i had to buy adidas bc showing up in a competitor brand can get u sent home,” alleged a third.

Others noted that covering brands in this blatant way may create a “Streisand effect.” This is when an attempt to draw attention away from something actually draws more attention to it.

“Marketer here, Levis won,” declared a commenter.

“I feel like everything getting blocked off is literally giving them more publicity than if it wasn’t blocked lmfao,” offered a further TikToker.

After his video went viral, Gold told BroBible the resultant debate surprised him.

“Most of the comments were people arguing back and forth about whether FIFA was justified in covering the branding or not,” he stated. “In my experience, when a video becomes controversial and gets people debating in the comments, that’s usually what drives it to take off.”

As for the idea that this brand redaction could bring more attention to the brands in question, he says it’s “absolutely” possible.

“I don’t think most people would have paid attention to the Levi’s logo at all if it hadn’t been covered. The attempt to hide it ended up making it the focal point of the conversation,” he shared. “What’s even more interesting is that Levi’s turned it into a marketing campaign. Their social media profile pictures now feature their logo covered by a white tarp, and they’ve even put the same covered-logo design on trucks. The situation ended up generating far more attention for the brand than it likely would have received otherwise.”

In life, it’s very rare to come across a place that’s been truly—and suddenly—abandoned.

Most of the time, any empty building you see is simply a result of slow-moving, easily explainable factors. A company starts to lose money and eventually goes out of business; a fault in the building means it’s no longer suitable for habitation, but it’s also too expensive to fix.

Occasionally, however, urban explorers will come across a place that appears to have been left in a matter of minutes. These have an eerie, haunting feeling: food left half-eaten, flowers rotting away in vases, and wall photos fading into pale imitations of their former selves.

One might expect to see something like this in a Colorado ghost town. But what’s a place like this doing in downtown Secaucus, New Jersey?

Why Was This Restaurant Abandoned?

In a video with over 1.9 million views, TikTok user Marce Lin (@the_marce_lin) explains how she and her sister decided to visit “the abandoned Houlihans at Harmon Meadows in Secaucus.”

The video starts with the pair looking into the window of the restaurant. Numerous plates and cups sit on the tables, many of them still holding food and drink.

“There’s literally mold on that,” says one of the women, looking at the food on the table.

The pair then shows a sign on the window. It’s an order to vacate dated February 24, 2026. Following this, one of them asks a question about the roof. This is a clue regarding why this restaurant became abandoned in the first place.

In an email to BroBible, Scott Marshall, COO of Houlihan’s, wrote, “Due to a partial roof collapse resulting from accumulated snowfall, we are currently closed. Out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the safety of our employees and guests, the building was immediately evacuated. The facility remains unsafe for occupancy and entry is prohibited. We have no updates at this time and will as more information becomes available.”

From Bustling Restaurant To Abandoned Eatery

According to ABC7, the reason the restaurant was initially abandoned was due to a significant snowfall.

On February 24, 2026, snow piling up on top of the restaurant caused its roof to cave in. While the roof did not fully collapse, it buckled enough that the Town Building Inspector declared the building must be closed until further notice. Building management was put in charge of managing repairs.

Lin’s video was posted at the end of May. In the weeks since, there appear to have been few updates—though it seems that change is under way.

On June 10, 2026, New Jersey photographer Alex Fagioli made an Instagram post containing photos of Houlihan’s he says were taken on June 8. These photos show the interior of the restaurant; while he still describes the eatery as “abandoned,” he notes that, at some point between Lin’s video and his photographs, they cleaned the food and drinks shown in Lin’s video off the tables.

Additionally, the “careers” section of the Houlihan’s website directs visitors to another page in which several positions are listed for the Secaucus location. For now, the Houlihan’s website still lists this specific restaurant as “temporarily closed.”

Diners Are Freaked Out

In the comments section of Lin’s video, users expressed their surprise and shock at the decision to simply leave the restaurant as it apparently was on the day it closed.

“That’s crazy they didn’t even clean it up,” wrote a user.

“A roof collapsing is a hazard,” countered another. “No one going in there to clean up food plates knowing the roof could fall on their head.”

“The kitchen must be a nightmare by now,” shared a third.

Health officials have issued a warning about potential measles exposure at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) amidst global World Cup travel. The warning comes just a few days after another case of a person infected with measles reportedly passed through San Francisco International Airport. Both major travel hubs are in cities hosting World Cup games.

The measles case in Los Angeles involves an individual who passed through LAX on June 11. Officials said the traveler arrived on a Cathay Pacific Airlines transpacific flight at the Tom Bradley International Airport Terminal B between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

A warning from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said in a statement, “In collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), passengers seated near the infected traveler will be notified by their respective local health departments.”

Additionally, individuals who were at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport Hotel on June 11 between 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. may be at risk of developing measles due to exposure.

“People who were at the above locations during the dates and times listed above may be at risk of developing measles from 7 to 21 days after being exposed,” the health department continued. “These individuals should confirm their protection against measles. Those who have had measles in the past or received the recommended measles vaccine are likely protected but should still monitor for symptoms. People who are unimmunized or have unknown measles immunization status are at higher risk and should monitor for symptoms closely.”

In Santa Clara County, the person infected with measles passed through the international terminal, including passport control, customs and baggage claim areas at San Francisco International Airport on Thursday morning between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. They also visited two San Jose grocery stores: Trader Joe’s and International Halal Market between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Measles went from being ‘eradicated’ in the year 2000 to reaching record-high levels in 2025

In 2025, measles cases in the United States reached their highest level in 30 years. The last time the United States had more than 2,000 cases was back in 1992. In the year 2000, health officials officially declared measles eliminated in the United States. That year, only 85 people in the entire country reported infections

The U.S. recorded just 285 cases in 2024. In 2025, Texas alone reported 803 cases. Multiple states blamed parents for not vaccinating school-age children, which contributed to the spread of measles.

Gendered restrooms may seem pretty straightforward if you’re a cisgender adult. For a child who needs an adult to come with them, however, things can get complicated.

Parents often wonder what they’re supposed to do in public: Should a dad with young daughters use the men’s room or the women’s room? Should a mom with young sons do the opposite? There are plenty of opinions on this, but not many situations play out quite like the one shown in a recent viral video from a QuikTrip convenience store.

In the clip, which got over 22.3 million views, TikTok creator Tyler Brodsky (@tylerbdrosky2) films a man who appears to be another customer. The man stands near the entrance of a women’s restroom while talking to police on the phone.

Inside the restroom, Brodsky and his two daughters are washing their hands.

What Happened At This QT?

“I’m standing in the doorway of the ladies’ bathroom,” the man says on the phone.

He then tells the person on the other end what is happening.

“There is a man with his two little girls using the women’s bathroom,” he says.

Inside the restroom, Brodsky tells one of his daughters, who appears upset, to wash her hands.

“Wash your hands, baby,” he says.

The man on the phone continues describing the situation.

“He’s washing his hands with his daughters right now,” he says.

Brodsky reassures his daughter. “Wash your hands,” Brodsky tells her. “It’s OK. Some of them are just immature.”

The man appears to accuse Brodsky of taking too long, saying he is “taking his sweet time.”

Brodsky pushes back. “I have two girls washing their hands,” he says.

The man then argues that a woman should be the one helping them.

“She’s a woman. She can bring her daughters in here,” the man says, referring to the QT manager who’s also inside the restroom.

“I’m their dad,” he says.

The man insists Brodsky has no business being in the women’s restroom.

“They’re girls,” Brodsky responds. “They go to the women’s bathroom.”

The QT manager then appears to help, apologizing to Brodsky and offering his daughters paper towels.

“I am so sorry,” she says.

The Altercation Continues Inside The Store

After Brodsky and his daughters leave the restroom, the man is still on the phone with the police when he notices that Brodsky is filming him. The man appears to charge at him.

“Don’t put your hands on me,” Brodsky says.

“I brushed you on the shirt,” he says.

Brodsky continues filming and says he has the interaction on video.

The man then describes Brodsky to the police.

“He’s a white man. He’s about 5’10,” he says. “Tell them to get here soon.”

Brodsky explains that he was just trying to help his daughters use the restroom while on a road trip.

“He’s standing here making a big deal about me taking my little girls to the women’s restroom ’cause he wants me to take them to the men’s restroom,” Brodsky says.

In the caption, Brodsky added more context.

“Y’all make this man famous,” he wrote. “We stopped at a QuikTrip on our road trip from Florida back to Oklahoma, so my daughters could use the restroom.”

He said the women’s restroom was empty, so he took them in.

“I’d rather do that than bring two little girls into a men’s bathroom full of grown men and dirty stalls,” he wrote.

According to Brodsky, the man then came in yelling and scared his daughters.

“This guy comes barging in yelling, scares my daughters, and somehow thinks THEY should’ve been in the men’s room instead,” he wrote. “Am I wrong here?”

Commenters Overwhelmingly Supported Him

In the comments section, viewers overwhelmingly sided with Brodsky.

Many parents said Brodsky did nothing wrong by taking his daughters into the women’s restroom.

“As a girl mom, you did absolutely nothing wrong and even more kudos to you for keeping your cool, especially in front of your daughters,” one person wrote. “Such a GOOD dad. Love to see it.”

Another viewer said it was hard to watch one of his daughters upset.

Is It Illegal For A Dad To Take His Daughters Into The Women’s Restroom?

The “restroom issue” only really became a public fight because of the debate around transgender people wanting to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity.

As an example, if you’re a cisgender woman or present as one and you want to use the men’s bathroom because the line is too long, the most you may get is a few odd looks. In a more extreme case, you may get kicked out of the building.

The more “scandalous” aspect is a “man” using the women’s restroom, though different political groups have different views on what constitutes a man.

Some states and cities have passed bathroom ban laws, especially around transgender bathroom access, but those rules vary widely and often apply to specific places like schools or government buildings rather than every private business.

The same is true in Oklahoma, where the incident happened. In 2024, Gov. Kevin Stitt signed HB 1449, the “Women’s Bill of Rights,” which defines “sex” as a person’s biological sex at birth. The bill says state law gets to separate spaces such as restrooms, locker rooms, shelters, prisons, and more by sex.

It’s unlikely, however, that this bill would apply in this particular situation, which is also reflected in the local police’s response.

What Happened After Police Arrived?

According to a follow-up video posted by Brodsky, not much happened once police arrived. Brodsky says officers asked a few questions and then asked the other man to leave.

He says the officers also reassured his daughters and told them they did nothing wrong, which he says he will always remember fondly.

Brodsky also thanked Melissa, the QT manager, who he says helped them during the situation.

In an email response to BroBible, Brodsky said the QT manager did not tell him he had broken any store policy.

“The manager supported my decision and didn’t say I broke any policy!” he said.

He also said the other customer entered the restroom before Brodsky started filming.

“He entered the restroom while we were still in the stall screaming at us through the stall,” Brodsky said. “We then exited the stall to wash our hands and at that point I stared recording in case anything happened.”

As for his daughters, Brodsky said they are doing well after the incident.

“They are both doing well, people have been so supportive and sending them gifts,” he said. “They are happy and excited for summer.”

New license plate cameras can now track people using their AirPods, smartwatches, and even their pets, raising serious privacy concerns.

The controversy surrounding automated license plate readers (ALPRs), such as Flock safety cameras, was already broiling, but this new development has cranked it up a notch.

Leonardo, a surveillance company, is advertising a tool called SignalTrace that enhances the functionality of conventional automatic license plate readers, according to 404 Media. The technology gathers signals from nearby electrical equipment and links them to specific vehicles, rather than just capturing a car’s license plate number.

The company claims that the system can identify signatures from devices such as cellphones, key cards, fitness monitors, RFID tags, Bluetooth accessories, tire pressure monitoring systems, pet microchips, and other commonly used electronics.

Authorities can then link a car to a distinct set of devices by comparing these electronic signatures with license plate information obtained at the same time and place. That data may then produce a digital profile, or an “electronic fingerprint,” that tracks the car and those inside of it.

Are these cameras violating citizens’ civil liberties?

Proponents contend that this kind of technology could aid in the investigation of crimes and the identification of suspects who try to avoid capture. Privacy activists, however, say this development in ALPR technology poses serious threats to citizens’ civil liberties.

“Location-based information like license plate data can be very revealing,” the Electronic Frontier Foundation writes on its website. “By matching your car to a particular time, date and location, and then building a database of that information over time, law enforcement can learn where you work and live, what doctor you go to, which religious services you attend, and who your friends are.”

Additionally, detractors claim that these technologies effectively eliminate anonymity in public areas while they collect data on a large number of individuals who are not accused of any crimes. On top of that, there is the issue of data security, as several law enforcement databases have been compromised, misused, or accessed without authorization in the past.

Knicks fans literally put Elmo’s head on a spike after he refused to back his hometown team during the NBA Finals. However, the Sesame Street staple will not be making the same mistake when it comes to picking sides during the World Cup.

Elmo had not made his Sesame Street debut when the New York Knicks won a championship in 1973, and the furry red monster was one of the many New York City natives who had not been around to witness the victory that sparked a drought that spanned for more than 50 years heading into the most recent NBA season.

Millions of people in The Big Apple rallied around the team that punched its ticket to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999, and many of them lashed out at Elmo after he went the “I Hope Both Teams Have Fun” route instead of spurning the Spurs and embracing the squad that plays in the city where the fictional Sesame Street is located.

He tried to do some damage control to no real avail, and he seemingly learned from that misstep by taking a new approach during the World Cup.

In a wild scene, literally, a cat named “Puffy Girl” was caught on a doorbell camera video fighting off a coyote outside a home in San Bernardino County, California.

Eddie Paredes, the resident of the residence in Ontario, told KTLA News that he frequently feeds the stray cat, whom he named Puffy Girl, and that she recently gave birth to a litter of kittens.

He said that Puffy Girl got her back up when the coyote pursued one of her kittens early one recent morning. Paredes said she battled the coyote for a while before driving it away. He added that the kittens seemed to be doing well.

This is not the first time that a cat has taken on a coyote in Southern California

KTLA News also reported that previously during the past week, in the backyard of a Porter Ranch, California, residence, one stray cat helped another stray cat pursue a coyote and drive it from the yard.

The resident of the home, Teri Garcia, captured footage of the encounter. According to Garcia, the cats, who she often feeds, seem to be “best of buddies.”

“The coyote started to chase the gray cat, so the black and white cat chased the coyote off the yard,” she said. “Both cats are okay.”

Last month, a Pico Rivera family called their pet cat a fighter after a camera caught another dramatic cat-versus-coyote encounter.

According to the Citywide Cat Program, there are an estimated 960,000 unowned “community cats” in the City of Los Angeles. Other estimates put the number of feral cats in the city between 1 and 3 million.

Virtually every fan who traveled from Scotland to North America by the World Cup hopped aboard a plane for the journey. That includes a couple of guys who decided to fly themselves, and they spent close to a day in the air in a tiny aircraft while landing in four different countries in order to watch their team in person.

If you wanted to travel from the United Kingdom to North America a century ago, your only real option was hopping aboard one of the ocean liners that typically needed close to a week to make their way across the Atlantic Ocean.

Members of the United States and British navies both completed the first transatlantic flights in 1919 (the latter was responsible for the first of a non-stop nature), but it took two decades until Pan Am orchestrated the first commercial one when 22 passengers were ferried from New York to Europe in 1939.

We’ve come a long way since then, as air travel has become the standard method of transportation for people who need to get across The Pond. That includes the Scottish soccer fans who decided to make the trek to the 2026 World Cup, but a couple of supporters opted for a slightly different route to get there.

People who took a flight from Glasgow or Edinburgh to get to the 2026 World Cup had to spend around seven hours on a plane where they had access to the various amenities designed to make a long-haul commercial trip as painless as possible (including the beer supplies that ran out before some of them arrived).

However, as the BBC reports, that was not the case with David Smith and Fraser MacIntyre, who opted for a slightly less glamorous journey through the air.

Smith and MacIntyre respectively serve as the chairman and vice-chairman of Ayr United, a soccer club in the coastal town that lends its name to the team that competes in the Scottish Championship (the country’s second-tier league).

The duo has access to “Ayr Force One,” the name given to a Cirrus SR22T G5, a small single-engine propeller plane that can seat up to five people (and does not have a bathroom). They were driving back from one of their team’s matches when MacIntyre raised the possibility of using it to fly to the World Cup in Scotland was able to qualify, and Smith said he was down.

The team ultimately punched its ticket for the first time since 1998, and they followed through on that plan in a quest to get to Boston for their showdown with Haiti last Friday.

According to the plane’s flight records, the two men took off from Glasgow Prestwick Airport on Tuesday afternoon before touching down in Reykjavík, Iceland to refuel. They subsequently headed to Kulusuk, Greenland on Wednesday before making their way to Iqaluit in the Canadian territory of Nunavut on Thursday morning.

That preceded two more stops in the country—Goose Bay in Labrador and Montreal—and the final leg took them to Quebec’s biggest city to Providence, Rhode Island, where they landed on Friday with plenty of time to spare to head up to Boston Stadium and watch Scotland defeat Haiti after collectively spending 22 hours (and nearly 5,000 miles) in the air.

While Balogun has made just 28 appearances for the United States, he has 11 goals in those matches, including two in the USMNT’s 4-1 win over Paraguay in the opening group stage match.

At 24 years old, Balogun spent his youth and early professional career with Arsenal before moving to Monaco in 2023, where he has 24 goals in 72 appearances. With a strong showing at the World Cup, Balogun could earn himself a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs.

What ultimately warrants Balogun’s inclusion on this list, though, is that he looks to have the potential to be the sort of world-class striker that the USMNT has simply never produced. If he can fulfill his potential and become one, he’ll be an automatic Top 10 player in the program’s history.

Honorable mention: Oguchi Onyewu

Oguchi Onyewu was the most physically imposing American defender of his generation — and for a brief spell in the mid-2000s, one of the most imposing defenders in all of European football.

After winning back-to-back Belgian Pro League titles with Standard Liège, Onyewu earned a move to AC Milan in 2009 — just a couple years after they were crowned European champions — which was a genuine coup for an American player at the time. Unfortunately, a devastating knee injury derailed what looked like a career on the verge of reaching the very top of the game and he never quite recaptured that pre-injury form.

Still, his spells with respected European clubs such as Liege, Newcastle United, Milan, and Sporting CP, and the dominance he showed at the peak of his powers, earns him an honorable mention.

9. DaMarcus Beasley
126 caps for the USMNT

DaMarcus Beasley has accomplished something that no other American player has ever done: he appeared in four World Cups, making him a stalwart of the American side from 2001 to 2017.

At the club level, after breaking through with the Chicago Fire, Beasley earned a move to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, where he won the Eredivisie title in consecutive seasons and reached the Champions League semifinals — one of the most decorated runs any American player has had at the European club level. He later had stints at Rangers and Hannover before returning stateside to play in Major League Soccer.

8. Weston McKennie

One of two active players on this list, Weston McKennie has a legitimate shot at finishing his career much higher on this list.

Tim Howard accomplished something few American players ever have: become a stalwart of the Premier League. He made 45 appearances for Manchester United between 2003 and 2007 before becoming Everton’s starting keeper for close to a decade, making 329 appearances for the storied club between 2007 and 2016.

Howard is the most capped goalkeeper of all-time for the United States men’s national team, and put forth one of the most iconic performances in the history of the program when he posted 16 saves against Belgium in 2014, the most ever made in a World Cup game.

The U.S. Department of Justice has referred Major League Baseball to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for potential religious discrimination. The issue is the league warning San Francisco Giants players about writing Bible verses on their Pride Night hats.

Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for civil rights at Department of Justice, said in an open letter addressed to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred that she has launched a civil rights investigation into whether the league violated the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Missouri Senator Josh Hawley previously released a letter he, too, sent to Rob Manfred, questioning the league’s message to the players.

“The Civil Rights Act prohibits MLB and its franchises from unreasonably burdening the rights of players with religious objections to serving as the League’s vehicle for pro-Pride messages,” Harmeet Dhillon wrote.

Dhillon also mentioned Title VII of the act in her letter, which forbids discrimination by employers on the grounds of “race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.” Additionally, she cited a U.S. Code that mandates that businesses make reasonable accommodations for an employee’s religious observance as long as it does not “impose undue hardship on the conduct of the employer’s business.”

“Swing and a miss! Major League Baseball encouraged players to wear ‘Black Lives Matter’ on their uniforms but reportedly threatened Christians who write Bible verses on their hats,” Dhillon wrote in the caption to her X post revealing the letter. “@USEEOC will investigate whether this amounts to religious discrimination.”

According to the MLB Basic Agreement, “No alterations, writing or illustrations, other than as authorized herein, are to be made to any part of the uniform.”

“The writing on the cap violates our rules and consistent with normal practice we have warned the players about future violations,” Pat Courtney, MLB’s chief communications officer, said in a statement on Monday.

On Tuesday, Major League Baseball expanded on its statement, explaining, “To be clear, this routine verbal warning not to wear the hat in future games is not disciplinary and had absolutely nothing to do with the content of the message.

“We respect players’ right to free expression. However, writing of any kind, with any message, is prohibited per Major League Baseball’s uniform regulations which provides in part that, ‘(a) player may not write, attach, affix, embroider or otherwise display nicknames or messages on apparel or playing equipment…’

“We have given the same warning numerous times in the past to players for messages such as ‘Dad,’ ‘Happy Mother’s Day, I Love Mom’ and names of family members.”

Earlier this week, Indianapolis Colts star cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner revealed that everyone has been wrong about his age for a number of years, and he’s not sure why.

Up until the correction, Gardner’s birthdate was listed publicly on everything from the Colts’ website, ESPN, and event Madden as Aug. 31, 2000, which would make him 25 years old.

There’s just one problem. That’s not Gardner’s birthday. At least, not according to the former first-round pick and two-time All-Pro.

“I’m 24,” Gardner said, via James Boyd of The Athletic. “It’s crazy that I’m even being asked this.”

“It’s wrong in Madden, too?” Gardner then asked. “That’s crazy because I never checked. Because when it comes to the paperwork and everything I’ve signed, it all says ’01. So I don’t know where or how it got messed up unless people just get it straight from Google.”

While the situation seems funny enough, and it largely is, it could have significant financial ramifications for Gardner moving forward if the entire league believed he was one year older than he actually is.

Gardner is set to begin the first of a four-year, $120 million contract this season, and if he’s actually 24, not 25, it means he’ll hit free agency again at 28, not 29.

That may seem like a small difference, but given the steep age curve in the NFL, it could be a key negotiating factor for Gardner come time for his next contract talks.

Fans went crazy when a woman appeared to grab Rory McIlroy’s ball at the US Open, but the USGA said she didn’t touch it. So did she or didn’t she?

The bizarre incident occurred on the par-4 fourth hole at Shinnecock Hills on Thursday after Rory McIlroy hit a shot “dead right” out of the fescue, as commentator Jim Mackay put it. The ball bounced high off of a cart path and came to rest in a short grass and dirt area.

As usual, fans began to gather around the ball, but one woman in particular appeared to do something that no true golf fan would ever do: she appeared to bend over and reach down with her left hand to pick up Rory McIlroy’s golf ball.

Spectators at the hole then let out a chorus of moans and screams of “NO!” as the camera cut away just as the female fan was about to grab the ball.

So did she pick up Rory McIlroy’s golf ball or didn’t she?

If the fan did pick up Rory McIlroy’s golf ball, it wouldn’t have been any kind of penalty. The only real damage it would have caused was leaving the woman extremely embarrassed. The rules state that he would have just replaced his ball where it had come to rest and continued his round.

Rule 9.6 of the Rules of Golf. It states: “If your ball is moved by an outside influence, such as an animal or a spectator, there is no penalty to anyone and the ball must be replaced.”

However, according to GOLF.com, which spoke to the USGA, that was never an issue. Despite it looking almost definitely like the women grabbed McIlroy’s ball, the USGA said she didn’t touch it.

“Right after McIlroy’s second shot on the 4th hole came to rest, it appeared on the broadcast that a fan was about to pick it up when the camera moved away,” the USGA told Golf.com in an email. “However, based on the testimony of fans and a review of the available video, his ball was not lifted. The fan stopped just before picking it up and McIlroy played the ball as it lay.”

Scotland is not exactly known for its cuisine, but there is one particular dish it has historically prided itself on: haggis.

Many people instinctively gag at the thought of eating haggis, which is traditionally made from the chopped-up heart, liver, and lungs of a sheep, which is mixed with fat harnessed from the kidneys and combined with oatmeal and spices before being cooked in its stomach.

Haggis is a staple of Burns Night, which is usually held to celebrate the birthday of Scottish poet Robert Burns on January 25th each year, and is usually served up alongside mashed potatoes and rutabaga and downed with a pour (or a few) of scotch.

It is a fairly divisive dish and one that has been theoretically illegal to make in the United States since 1971, which is the year the USDA declared sheep’s lungs unfit for human consumption over contamination concerns.

Healey seemed to be under the impression that people would know the executive order was supposed to be a harmless joke, but on Thursday, she issued a statement stressing that was indeed the case after receiving “countless messages” concerning what seemed to be a pretty major development on the haggis front.

Katia Aveiro, the sister of Cristiano Ronaldo, had a lot to say about the poor performance of Portugal during its World Cup opener. She, like many of her brother’s most vocal supporters, did not question the lack of creativity on offense.

There is a much deeper issue and it starts with the basics.

International soccer fans will be curious to see whether the Portuguese side is able to show signs of life in its next match. They, like Aveiro, would love to see her superstar sibling get an increased number of touches on the ball.

The 48-year-old sister to the man known only as ‘Ronaldo’ shared her thoughts on her brother’s opening match at the World Cup. Portugal played to a 1-1 draw with DR Congo as -350 betting favorites. It was a surprising result. Disastrous, even.

Aveiro posted the following criticism (translated) on her Instagram story:

“Magically, they forgot how to: • Pass the ball around • Win the ball back • Launch counter-attacks. The game became all about passing backwards in midfield… Strange World Cup. Very strange.”

She did not mention her brother by name. Nor did she address his poor play.

Cristiano Ronaldo is subject to widespread criticism at the World Cup.

Ronaldo’s most passionate supporters question whether his teammates are trying to sabotage their star player. Fernandes, Vitinha, Joao Neves and Pedro Neto have been inundated with claims that they intentionally stopped him from playing a role in the match.

It did not help that Neves said Cristiano Ronaldo is “no different” from any other player on the squad.

‘We know what Cristiano has done for us, for our national team, and for the world of football. But at this moment, he and we know that he is no different. He is just another player here to help. He is no different from the others. He is here to contribute, just like all of us.”

Many soccer fans took his comments as a jab. He and his teammates are annoyed with the spotlight that is always on Ronaldo.

I don’t necessarily see it that way but the numbers do raise some questions. Portugal had 75% possession and 26 crosses but it did not get the ball to Ronaldo after 66 minutes. He had fewer touches than almost ever starter. Should he get the ball more often?

Ronaldo did not play well in the opener. Not only did he two huge opportunities in the 68th and 73rd minutes, he often looked like he was taking up space on the pitch. There was not a lot of flow. His positioning was poor. He has not scored a non-penalty goal in a major competition.

Despite this, Portugal manager Roberto Martinez is not ready to give up on his star player just yet. The Portuguese squad will continue to live and die by Cristiano Ronaldo. His sister hopes that his teammates will play better around him but she also needs her brother to step up just as much as his teammates. Her criticism also applies to her high-profile sibling.

The York Revolution Minor League Baseball team forfeited its game on Thursday after players refused to wear the team’s Pride Night jerseys.

The Revolution scheduled their 11th annual Pride Night for their Thursday night game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, but the players declined to wear special rainbow-sleeved jerseys. Therefore, the team chose to forfeit the game

Ben Shipley, the York Revolution president and general manager, stated that his manager informed him on Tuesday that less than nine players on the 28-man roster were willing to play in the uniforms on Thursday night. Last year, seven members of the Revolution refused to wear the uniforms on Pride Night.

The York Revolution explained the decision to forfeit in a statement

“This decision was not reached lightly,” the team wrote in a statement. “Unfortunately, several of our players have refused to wear the scheduled Pride Night jersey and the club decided that hosting the event is more important than forcing players to wear jerseys they are not comfortable with and playing the game.

“As a result, and out of respect for the Pride Community and the York community as a whole, the York Revolution has decided that the game on Thursday, June 18 will be forfeited and that Pride Night will continue on as the feature element of the evening at WellSpan Park.”

“We feel that this is the best way to stay consistent with our long-standing partnerships with the Rainbow Rose Center, JLS Automation and the long list of allies that have always been key partners of the York Revolution’s success in York, Pennsylvania,” the statement continued.

The team did not agree with the players’ decision to not wear the uniforms

“To be clear; this action by the players is completely inconsistent with our vision as the Most Welcoming Place in York,” the team added. “As a small token of our regret for the last-minute change of plans and support for our LGBTQIA+ representing partners we are making a $10,000 donation to the Rainbow Rose Center to support and further their work in making sure the York community is as inclusive as we strive to make WellSpan Park in York, Pennsylvania.”

Instead of holding the game, the York Revolution hosted a free admission event. Also, the team announced that fans can redeem all tickets for Thursday’s game for any remaining 2026 regular season home game.

The York Revolution’s issue comes during the same week in which Major League Baseball issued a warning to players not to write on their caps after multiple San Francisco Giants pitchers wrote Bible verses on their Pride Night hats, drawing the attention of everyone from Missouri Senator Josh Hawley to MLB great Roger Clemens.

Southlake Carroll is one of the most dominant high school football programs in Texas. Its weight room is better than most small colleges.

The booster club did not spare any expense!

Summer workouts are already underway for many high school football programs in the Lone Star State. None of them are better equipped for offseason training than the Dragons.

Southlake Carroll is a high school football powerhouse.

Founded in 1961, Carroll High School serves only Grades 9 and 10. Carroll Senior High School serves only Grades 11 and 12. They enroll ~2,750 students in total. Approximately 1,350 freshman and sophomores. Approximately 1,400 juniors and seniors.

The high school football team competes in the University Interscholastic League Class 6A. It is typically split into multiple teams. The varsity roster typically carries around 70 players. From there, it is split into two Junior Varsity squads and a freshman squad.

The program routinely involves more than 150 players across all four teams. Only the varsity team gets to suit up on game day.

There are very few schools in Texas high school football history that are more successful than Southlake Carroll. The Dragons boast an all-time record of 622-158-8 with eight state championships. They rarely miss out on the playoffs, if ever.

Southlake Carroll has not lost more than two games in a single season since 2017. It lost only one game in each of the last two seasons. The Dragons got upset in the semifinal round of the playoffs in 2025. They finished as runners-up in 2024.

You get the idea. High school football is a huge deal in Texas. Southlake Carroll wins a lot of games.

The Dragons get jacked in a state-of-the-art weight room.

Everybody sees the results on the field but people rarely peel back the curtain to see the work it took to get to that point. The Dragons run their high school football program like a college program. They work hard year-round. They don’t spare any expense.

That is especially true in regard to the weight room. It opened prior to last season. The booster club had this to say:

All 32 racks are set up so that the athletes don’t have to switch stations once they are in place. The facility can hold a maximum capacity of ~120 athletes at the same time. They are never forced to overlap. Every different sports team cycles in throughout the day.

Most FCS weight rooms do not compare to Southlake Carroll. That is also true for a lot of Group of Six programs. This is a high school football facility that looks more like a Power Four conference facility. It might be a little bit smaller but it is just as nice!

Trash talk can be an incredibly valuable tool in the arsenal of professional athletes who know how to use it to their advantage. That’s certainly true in the NBA, a league where there’s always been plenty to go around and one that has boasted some players who have really managed to earn a reputation for their abilities.

The psychological aspect of sports can be just as important as the physical one, and countless athletes have harnessed the power of talking trash to gain an edge over their opponents by getting into their heads.

That includes a number of legendary NBA players who helped define their legacy thanks to the impressive trash-talking prowess that helped them earn a reputation as one of the all-time greats in that particular realm.

Larry Bird

One NBA player once said, “Larry Bird is the greatest trash talker and mind-game player of all time,” which is particularly high praise when you consider the quote in question came courtesy of Michael Jordan.

The Celtics legend took a fairly straightforward approach to talking trash—one that was built on the foundation of the confidence he backed up with his talent. Most of the anecdotes that earned him a spot on this list revolve around his ability to tell an opponent exactly how he was going to score on them before doing exactly that.

Oh, speaking of His Airness….

Michael Jordan

As I mentioned above, Jordan was a student of the Larry Bird School of Trash Talk, and he also had a penchant for literally calling his shots to demoralize an opponent.

However, that was far from his only strategy.

He once shut down Jim Jackson for trying to talk smack to him while wearing Air Jordans, trolled Dikembe Mutombo by drilling a free throw with his eyes closed, and taunted Mugsy Bogues over his size to the point where the diminutive guard pointed to the moment as the one where his NBA career began to go downhill.

Kobe Bryant

Trash talk was a central tenet of the “Mamba Mentality” that helped Kobe Bryant become one of the most dominant players of all time.

Plenty of guys Kobe played against have said he was the most lethal verbal assassin they ever encountered on the court. He had a penchant for pointing out the number of rings he’d won while chirping players on the other team, but he also wasn’t afraid to give guys on his own squad a tongue-lashing if he felt they weren’t living up to expectations.

There’s no shortage of stories to pick from to highlight his abilities, but nothing stands out like the time he took the time to learn some insults in French so he could lob them Tony Parker’s way.

Reggie Miller

Reggie Miller was the kind of player who thrived on being despised, and he went out of his way to engage with players, fans, and even referees in order to create the tension that helped him take his game to the next level.

His playoff showdowns with the Knicks are probably the encapsulation of his ability to be the villain. He riled up John Stark to the point where the guard was ejected for headbutting him, and he took great joy in taunting Spike Lee and the rest of the fans at Madison Square Garden with the iconic “choke” gesture he pulled out during the Eastern Conference Finals in 1994.

Gary Payton

Gary Payton was also fueled by pure, unadulterated hatred, and he had a tendency to start running his mouth as soon as he stepped on the court and keep going until the game ended.

There are a couple of stories that really highlight why Payton appears here.

George Karl, his own coach, preferred to play him for all 48 minutes as often as possible to avoid having to hear him talk while he was on the bench (he was also not afraid to shade his own team), and the Supersonics essentially signed David Wingate to serve as a designated trash-talker at practices to give Payton some motivation (and the chance to practice his own comebacks) between games.

Kevin Garnett

Kevin Garnett is arguably the most controversial trash-talker on this list thanks in large part to things he claims he didn’t say despite rumors suggesting otherwise.

That includes the infamous “Honey Nut Cheerios” comment he allegedly directed at Carmelo Anthony while referencing his wife La La, although both men (and Melo’s spouse) deny it was ever uttered.

Charlie Villenueava (who was born with a form of alopecia) also accused KG of referring to him as a “cancer patient” in 2010—a claim Garnett denied while somewhat implausibly asserting he actually told him, “You are cancerous to your team and our league.”

There was also another rumored incident involving the next man on this list, as Garnett supposedly told Tim Duncan “Happy Mother’s Day” during a playoff game despite knowing his opponent’s mom had passed away from breast cancer when he was a teenager.

Tim Duncan

“Vicious” may be a bit of a misnomer when it comes to describing the route Tim Duncan took on the court, but the fact that Garnett respects the abilities of the man he allegedly disrespected speaks volumes.

Duncan was known for being a fairly soft-spoken player, but KG noted he was able to quietly cut to an opponent’s core with “subtle” and passive-aggressive barbs like “Nice try” or “Almost” while being largely immune to comments directed his way.

Rasheed Wallace

Three words: Ball Don’t Lie.

Rasheed Wallace was never afraid to speak his mind on the court and racked up 317 technical fouls during his career as a result. However, he’s best remembered on the trash-talking front for the trademark phrase he deployed whenever a player missed a free throw after he was hit for a violation he didn’t think he earned.

Draymond Green

Draymond Green may exist on a lower trash-talking tier than most of the players we’ve discussed so far, but I have to give credit where credit is due to the man who’s led the vanguard when it comes to current players.

He’s certainly not afraid to lob his fair share of largely generic insults and expletives at other players during games, but he did get creative when he mocked Paul Pierce for trying to pull a Kobe by “chasing that farewell tour” during his final season before bluntly stating “they don’t love you like that.”

Amazon MGM Studios will no longer be releasing Artificial, the biopic about OpenAI CEO Sam Altman that’s directed by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me by Your Name, Challengers) and starring Andrew Garfield. Reports indicate the project is “nearly finished.”

Instead of releasing the film themselves, Amazon MGM Studios — who distributed Luca Guadagnino’s most recent project, 2025’s After The Hunt — will be shopping Artificial to other studios.

In addition to the Academy Award-nominated Andrew Garfield as Altman, Artificial — which will follow Altman’s firing and rehiring at the AI company behind ChatGPT in 2023 — also stars Monica Barbaro, Yura Borisov, Cooper Koch, Cooper Hoffman, Ike Barinholtz, and Jason Schwartzman.

Amazon’s decision to sell off Luca Guadagnino’s Artificial raises eyebrows given their $50B deal with OpenAI

“We have the utmost respect and admiration for Luca Guadagnino as an award-winning filmmaker — not to mention a longstanding relationship that we hope to continue. We believe that Artificial will be better served if it were released by a different studio and are working closely with the filmmaking team to find the film a new home,” a spokesperson for Amazon said.

Given that Amazon signed a massive deal to expand OpenAI’s use of Amazon Web Services and develop custom AI models back in February, which included a $50 billion investment into the company, the decision to part ways with the project has raised eyebrows.

“I don’t even care about the movie but this is still f—– up. Amazon is so evil,” one response to the news read.

“This is the reason why Amazon will sell the movie. Rumors say that it makes the CEO of OpenAI look very bad, who is an investor in Amazon for 50 Trillion. Bezos didn’t want to upset him,” a second theorized.

You might think it would be pretty hard to keep two giraffes in your possession without calling attention to yourself. However, authorities spent more than a year attempting to track down a couple that vanished from a zoo in Virginia before finally managing to find them this month.

Giraffes are firmly the tallest land animals in existence, as the mammals (which are native to close to two dozen countries in sub-Saharan Africa) can grow up to more than 18 feet while harnessing their height to snack on the trees responsible for a substantial portion of their diet.

They’re also taller than the average person when they enter the world, as baby giraffes are around six feet tall when they come out of the womb (before dropping the same distance to the ground after their mother gives birth).

That was the case with a couple of giraffe calves that were being raised at a zoo in Virginia before it was raided over concerns about the mistreatment of its animals, and they managed to go missing for more than a year while sparking a bizarre saga that has finally come to an end.

Officials in Virginia have recovered two giraffes that disappeared from a zoo that was raided in 2025

In 2023, close to 100 animals were seized from the Natural Bridge Zoo in the Virginia town that lends its name to the attraction due to alleged violations of the Animal Welfare Act linked to improper care, nutrition, and shelter.

Some of those animals remained on the property as the investigation unfolded, including a couple of female giraffes that couldn’t be moved to another location because they were pregnant. However, things took a turn in April 2025 when officials who were conducting an inspection realized they had given birth but could not locate either of the calves.

Last October, Gretchen Mogensen, the zoo’s co-owner, was sentenced to 100 days in jail for refusing to reveal what had happened to the baby giraffes, and authorities continued to conduct a fruitless search that lasted over a year.

According to The Washington Post, it came to an end this week when the Virginia Attorney General’s office announced it had located the two animals.

They did not disclose where they were found (saying the discovery was the result of unspecified “legal action”), but they noted they were “safe” and being cared for after being relocated to the Georgia Safari Conservation Park, where they have been reunited with three giraffes (including their father) that formerly called the Natural Bridge Zoo home.

There are still plenty of questions that remain to be answered, but at least we got a happy ending.

The NCAA has made former Iona basketball player Adam Njie Jr. permanently ineligible for his participation in a point-shaving scheme. Njie admitted to agreeing to participate in the scheme, but claimed he never actually went through with it.

NCAA enforcement personnel uncovered the violations after questioning a source in July and September 2025 about a different sports betting case and the source’s knowledge of two known gamblers. According to the source, one of the gamblers had contacted basketball player Adam Njie Jr., then playing for Iona University.

The NCAA said in a statement, “Sports betting integrity violations occurred in the Iona men’s basketball program when former men’s basketball student-athlete Adam Njie Jr. provided game information to known bettors for sports betting reasons, according to an agreement released by a Division I Committee on Infractions panel. The former student-athlete, who was made permanently ineligible for NCAA competition, agreed to his violations.”

Adam Njie Jr. admitted to agreeing to throw two games, but claims he did not go through with it

During the NCAA investigation, the Mississippi Gaming Commission discovered in December 2024 that someone placed three bets totaling $15,500 on Rice University to cover the first-half spread against Iona. Njie acknowledged that he had promised a bettor he would throw the first half of the game. Njie claimed he didn’t follow through on it, though. The game ended up tied at halftime, and Iona covered the spread, causing the bettors to lose their wager.

Following the game, the bettor allegedly retaliated by threatening Njie with physical harm. Njie promised to make up for the bettor’s losses by throwing the first half of Iona’s next game against Sacred Heart. He again claimed that he did not go through with the plan. In that game, Iona was behind by 19 at halftime and did not cover the spread.

“The act of sharing information with a bettor is prohibited by NCAA legislation and is treated the same as point shaving from an NCAA enforcement perspective, regardless of whether the student-athlete goes through with throwing the game,” the NCAA stated.

Adam Njie Jr. transferred to Dayton prior to the last season, but “potential eligibility concerns” prevented him from playing after the first two preseason games. Last month, he transferred to Hampton University. Federal prosecutors in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania indicted both of the bettors involved in the case in January 2026 on charges of wire fraud and bribery.

Paul Brown is soccer fan from England who traveled to the United States for the World Cup. He had a gun flashed at him during his visit to Memphis.

Paul Brown is traveling the United States for the World Cup.

Paul Brown is mainly known for two things. He is a Cleveland Browns fan who lives in England and a massive foodie. The London-based vlogger has more than 100,000 followers on Instagram, 35,000 followers on X and ~3,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Although the majority of his content is based around the Browns and what he eats in his home country, the month of June is different. Brown arrived to the United States for the World Cup. He will spend the next few weeks traveling the country.

And then it was off to Music City! Brown changed his plans to make a stop in East Tennessee before he made it to Nashville.

International soccer fans need to be careful in Memphis!

Paul Brown most recently drove from Dallas to Memphis. He made stops at Graceland and Uncle Lou’s Fried Chicken.

For those who are not familiar with the Bluff City, Uncle Lou’s is considered one of the best chicken joints in the city — and the South. It was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives for a reason.

Uncle Lou’s is also located right in between the airport and the former home of Elvis Presley so it makes for an easy stop. However, it is not in the safest part of town. There are much worse and it is not a huge concern during the day. But you do have to keep your head on a swivel.

Brown discovered this reality in real time. He told the two men sitting next to him that he “felt a bit on edge” in the restaurant. One of the two men said that he was “in the hood” and flashed the strap. His buddy was cracking up.

There are a lot of people saying that Brown shouldn’t have been there. Those people are ignorant. I have had many delicious meals at Uncle Lou’s. Yes, you do have to be aware of your surroundings. No, you aren’t in immediate danger for having lunch.

And in that exact moment, Brown was in the safest place he could be. Nobody was going to mess with the England soccer fan who traveled to the United States for the World Cup and just discovered fried chicken for the first time. The guys sitting next to him wouldn’t let that happen. They loved him.

A video of a group of New York Knicks banding together to help a passed out man has gone massively viral on social media. The woman who used Narcan on the victim, Simone Kelly, is an aspiring doctor.

The New York Knicks celebrated their first NBA championship since 1973 on Thursday in Manhattan, with an estimated two million people in attendance. And of those two million, this group of New Yorkers saved the life of another.

An unfortunate reason that the video has gone massively viral on social media is that, after being restored to consciousness, the victim appeared to try and kiss Kelly. Kelly, 24 years old, is an EMT with the South Orange Rescue Squad in New Jersey and is currently studying Pre-Med Neuroscience, Chemistry and Psychology Student at Drew University.

Simone Kelly, the viral New York Knicks fan who saved an overdose victim during the parade, speaks out

Kelly, however, was all class in the aftermath, as she told a content creator on Instagram that it was “New Yorkers helping New Yorkers.” She also shared numerous videos of the incident on her on social media, including one with a caption about the apparent attempted kiss.

On her own Instagram, Kelly has shared photos from the event and has also been sharing videos of the incident on her Instagram Story, including one with the caption “Instagram engagement is great but who can get my name to medical school admission committees.”

Kelly also has a photo of herself wearing white doctor’s coat with the caption “One day this coat will read ‘Dr. Kelly.”

According to Gothamist, the New York Police Department says the estimated two million people in the parade crowd dispersed with “minimal commotion,” as only 13 arrests were made.

After a disappointing 2025-26 season, the Los Angeles Clippers got a bit of luck when the Indiana Pacers dropped from second to fifth in the NBA Draft Lottery, meaning the pick will convey to LA rather than stay in Indy.

That was huge news for a Clippers franchise that remains in “win-now” mode as it tries to squeeze the absolute max out of Kawhi Leonard before he passes his prime.

But who Los Angeles selects, or if the Clippers even use the pick, rather than trading back, remains a mystery.

The top four prospects in the class: AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, and Caleb Wiloson, are all expected to be off the board.

That likely leaves the Clippers to select from the next tier of prospects, which is wide-ranging and far from a sure thing. Will they go with a guard to complement Leonard? That could be a problem next to 6-foot-1 point guard Darius Garland, who was acquired in the trade that sent James Harden to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Garland has two years and nearly $80 million remaining on his contract.

Perhaps Louisville’s Mikel Brown Jr. and his 6-foot-7.5 wingspan could fix that problem. But Brown struggled with efficiency as a freshman. That could scare LA off.

Then there’s Illinois’ Keaton Wagler, who is 6-5 with a 6-6.25 wingspan. Wagler was extremely efficient in college, but lacks the elite athleticism you’d ideally want at a pick that high.

As it turns out, the Clippers could be focusing on a third option.

Darius Acuff Jr. Is LA Clippers Preferred Draft Target According To Leak

If Los Angeles was planning to keep its intentions under wraps, that plan may well have come apart thanks to the son of player development coach Cookie Belcher.

Belcher is a second cousin of Clippers coach Tyronn Lue and has worked with the team since 2021. However, his son Kai may have just put him in a weird position.

Kai Belcher recently took to social media and shared that his father believes that the Clippers will target Arkansas guard Darius Acuff Jr. with the fifth pick.

Acuff, who stands at 6-foot-3, was one of the best scorers in the country last season, averaging 23.5 points per game over the course of the season and 29.3 points per game in three NCAA Tournament games.

Given coach John Calipari’s history with producing superstar NBA guards such as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Tyrese Maxey, Derrik Rose, and many more, it’s easy to see why LA would covet Acuff.

Although his fit next to Garland may mean that the latter of the two could be on the move in the near future.

Ultimately, the Clippers likely have full control of what they do at No. 5, given the first four picks feel locked in. But if Acuff is truly their target, it’s hard to imagine they’ll be too happy about that fact leaking to the rest of the league, especially if a potential trade down was available.

Jelly Roll is already dating amid his ongoing divorce from Bunnie XO. Neither he nor she cheated on each other.

It sounds like an amicable split, even though it is one-sided.

First and foremost, she wants to be clear that her cryptic post on Instagram was not a shot at him. She did not think anything of the choice of music, a Nickelback song, because it is one of her favorite band and it was trending on social media. She did not even recognize that it is a breakup song. That, and the post on her Instagram story, was nothing more than a coincidence.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO found out that TMZ was about to break the news after her posts had already gone live on her profile. It was not intentional. It had nothing to do with her relationship status, other than that she was back to feeling like herself on HRT.

The post about ‘Daddy Chaddy’ from a few weeks prior was also meaningless. It was actually a repost to keep her algorithm alive. Bunnie XO is not dating Chad Kroeger. She even issued an apology to Nickelback for getting them caught up in it by accident.

“There’s no f—— way in hell that would even be a thing and know I did not cheat on my husband and leave him for Chad and none of that. Please […] I am not dating Chad Kroger. I am so sorry to Chad and Nickelback for this happening. It’s embarrassing.”

Jelly Roll confirmed at his concert on Thursday night that Bunnie did not cheat on him.

Bunnie confirmed that Jelly Roll did not cheat on her.

“Nobody cheated on the other person. It’s literally just we served our purpose for each other and I’m excited to discover myself single and single and sober, which is crazy.”

The high-profile couple still plans to have a child together despite their split.

“I love him and you guys are going to be shocked to hear this but we’re still having a baby together.”

Bunnie detailed how the two plan to co-parent and raise their future child together. It has been in the works for awhile.

The divorce was NOT mutual but Bunnie XO gets the house.

When the news of their breakup first broke, it was presented as mutual. That is not the case. It was his call, not hers. An argument on Mother’s Day led to the filing.

“And so on Mother’s Day we had a little bit of an argument, which I don’t think the details are necessary…And in that argument, I was so fed up and so tired that I just looked at him and I said, ‘Well, then file the f—— divorce papers.’”

Bunnie XO did not mean what she said. Jelly Roll actually went and did it.

“Was I blindsided and was this divorce mutual? No, it was not mutual. Even though I told him to file the divorce papers, I was speaking out of anger and just frustration.”

Perhaps that explains why he hired one of the most ruthless lawyer in Music City. Just in case. Because it was his idea.

However, Bunnie said that Jelly Roll has been amicable in the divorce thus far. She gets to keep the home they have been building on their compound in Nashville, and the animals, which means that the moving truck spotted on their property was for him.

“We bought a compound and we’ve been building our dream house for the past year. When I say we, I mean I. Because my husband was always like, Jay’s always like, ‘Just do whatever you want to do, honey.’ He didn’t care. He just wanted to move in, turn key, didn’t want to have a problem with it. And so Jay is so sweet that he’s giving me that compound in the divorce because he knows how special it is to me.”

It sounds like this process will go smoothly. We’ll see.

Jelly Roll is already dating.

Although the decision for divorce is only a month old, Jelly Roll is back on the market. He is looking to find his next partner.

“[Jelly Roll] is ready to date,” she said. “He’s rearing and ready to go. He’s all hopped up on testosterone. Let me tell you. And he’s ready to go. He’s even started dating, which is great, I love that. So his DMs are open. Go to his Instagram and go send that motherf—– a DM. Don’t be scared. Everybody go hit him up. Shoot your shot. I will be the ex-wife and we’ll have a great time.”

Bunnie XO has received a lot of attention in her DMs since the divorce was announced.

“Stella’s getting her groove back. Ever since the announcement, the fing amount of blue check marks in my fing DMs.”

She is not yet in the same place as Jelly Roll.

“And the crazy thing is I’m not even ready to hook up with a dude. I’m ready to just focus on myself, pour into myself. But my husband is ready to date.”

Both parties have stated that this is the only time that they are going to address the divorce. For now. Bunnie XO might write a book down the road. She promises to tell the full story if she does.

Remember when Marvel Studios was hailed for the consistently high-quality of their movies? Apparently Marvel does, as franchise star Robert Downey Jr. says they channeled that while making Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel Studios better hope Avengers: Doomsday is a return to the form of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, as it’ll be the true litmus test of where these movies currently stand in the culture.

Deadpool & Wolverine made over a billion in 2024. Since then, however, the MCU’s theatrical releases have been Captain America: Brave New World ($415 million and regarded as one of the worst MCU movies ever made), Thunderbolts (which is actually quite good but topped out at $382 million globally), and Fantastic Four: The First Steps (which made “only” $521 million despite featuring Marvel’s First Family).

Marvel movies will seemingly always have a consistent quality and box office floor. But the studio will likely be hoping that Avengers: Doomsday can get them back to the apex of cultural dominance that it enjoyed in the 2010s.

Robert Downey Jr. says they figured out how to not make Avengers: Doomsday a “let down” after Infinity War and Endgame

“We landed in a place that I think will more than suffice. And it’s not even about how I executed it. It’s about the way it’s been structured, and the other characters. There’s something going on in Doomsday and forward that is literally the only antidote to: How do you not have these films be let down after an Infinity War and an Endgame?,” RDJ told CBR.

“And boy, have we labored long and hard to bring that down… There’s an incredible amount of gratitude we have going into these two. One epic at a time. Doomsday… just the gratitude to be able to do it. To still be engaging with people who are critical when we fall short, but who understand how difficult it is when we get it right.”

Downey Jr. is the wildcard in all of this, as the reaction to the film will largely live and die not only based on his performance as Doctor Doom, but on the merit of the decision, in general. Since his casting was announced, opinions of casting the former Iron Man star to play Doctor Doom were split, if not leaning toward the negative side of calling it cheap stunt casting.

That could all change with a performance from Downey Jr. that resonates and a narrative explanation that genuinely legitimizes the decision.

After a somewhat disappointing draw with Morocco in their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Brazilian soccer fans are taking zero chances ahead of their second match in Group C.

The Seleção is set to square off with Haiti in Philadelphia on Friday, and Brazil likely needs to win by a healthy margin to give itself a chance of topping the group and getting the best possible draw in the Round of 32.

Brazilian Fans Defend Rocky Statue To Prevent Jinx

In the past, when opposing teams have come into Philadelphia to play against the city’s sports teams, specifically the Eagles, opposing fans have attempted to deface the statue by covering it in the jersey of their favorite team.

Almost every time they’ve done so, it has ended poorly, with their teams not only losing but doing so in brutal fashion. Most recently, Ecuador fans covered the statue in a national team jersey before losing to the Ivory Coast on a goal in the 90th minute.

Brazil fans took notice, and they took to Instagram with a message:  “It’s totally forbidden to put a Brazil shirt on the Rocky statue in Philly!!!!!” one poster wrote in Portuguese.

Visit PA responded by saying, “Countless football teams (as in American Football, not Fútbol — same curse, different sport) have all dressed the Rocky Statue in their colors and gone on to lose,” the Instagram post said. “Ecuador dressed Rocky last weekend. Coincidence? Sadly, history says no.

“Philadelphia can’t wait to host you! (but Rocky does not need your kit).”

You may laugh, but Brazilian fans were quick to heed the warning.

Several fans showed up on Thursday evening to surround the statue with signs that read “Operation Protect Rocky. Attention, do not dress Rocky in Brazil’s colors.”

Only time will tell if their efforts pay off. But you have to credit the fans for trying.

Floyd Mayweather’s financial troubles continue to get worse.

A few days ago, it was reported that Mayweather was facing charges for allegedly writing a bad check for some jewelry.

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is facing two felony charges after allegedly passing a bad check while buying a $200,000 watch in Las Vegas, according to Nevada court records.

The 49-year-old boxer is facing “theft, value $100,000 or greater” and “draw or pass check with intent to defraud, value $1,200 or greater.”

Boxing promoter CSI is now accusing Mayweather of accepting a $4.5 million advance for a fight against Manny Pacquiao before ghosting them and accepting another offer from Netflix.

CSI claims they made $4.5 million in combined payments to Mayweather’s management company, Frist Apex Ventures, to get the exclusive rights to the events … and says Floyd personally signed off on the deal.

CSI says Floyd wasted no time turning on them, claiming the day after they paid him a separate $150K advance, he announced he was fighting Greek kickboxer Mike Zambidis instead of Tyson … with a different promoter.

They also claim Mayweather secretly signed a separate deal with another company to stream the fight with Pacquiao on Netflix from the Sphere in Las Vegas.

The promoter is now attempting to get Mayweather’s future fights cancelled if they don’t get their money back.

In addition to seeking damages or at least getting their money back, the promoters are also asking the court to stop Floyd from fighting Zambidis next week and to prevent the Netflix event from going in violation of their exclusive deal.

Scottie Scheffler finds himself eight shots off the lead after his opening round of the US Open. The world’s No. 1 golfer shot +2 on Thursday at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.

He was seen arguing with longtime coach Randy Scott after completing his day. Is it reason for concern?

Maybe. It certainly wasn’t the start he’d hoped for. Digging deeper into his 2026 season, however, it’s probably a bit early to write the golfer off.

Scheffler shot 72 on Thursday to finish two-over par. He trails leader Wydham Clark by eight shots after an opening round -6 (through 16 holes).

Scheffler’s front nine was a battle. He recorded two bogeys and a double to finish +3. He cleaned things up on the back end, sinking three birdies to get back within striking distance.

At the moment, he finds himself in a tie for 49th place. He showed some frustration after the fact.

Cameras caught Scheffler arguing with Randy Scott on the driving range. His grip appeared to be the topic of conversation.

The commentating crew brushed the interaction aside. There is not yet reason for panic.

“He just knows how important these fundamentals are to Scottie, and this is not uncommon. They will go back and forth. They’ve known each other for a really long time, so they’re going to have these conversations. It’s been pretty well documented this year that Scotty has been losing shots out to the right.”

Scheffler wants to get right before Day 2. The argument was the byproduct of inconsistency, but it can be chalked up to a competitive mindset of the sport’s best player.

Recent history says there’s no reason to worry.

Scottie Scheffler’s first round struggles have been documented this season. He continued the trend on Thursday at the US Open.

Scheffler’s competed in 12 events this year. He’s won once while posting six other Top 5s. In seven of his tournaments, his opening round has been his worst.

That includes a 73 at the Phoenix Open where he finished third, and a 72 at Pebble Beach where he placed fourth.

In most every event this season, he’s shined Friday through Sunday. He should feel very comfortable playing from behind.

The conditions on Thursday were difficult for every golfer in the field not named Wyndham Clark. Scheffler is just four shots back of second place. Ground can be made up easily.

Scheffler’s proven the ability to rise up the leaderboard quickly with strong finishes. He was frustrated with his opening day but is doing what he can to make adjustments.

The argument, and overall performance, aren’t cause for concern at this moment in time. If the struggles continue into Friday, that conversation may change.

The UFC White House event appears to be a success for the UFC and Paramount.

On Sunday, UFC CEO Dana White told the media that the UFC White House event was expected to draw massive numbers and that Paramount execs were excited about the sport’s future.

“I got off the phone with David Ellison (CEO of Paramount Skydance), and he’s going crazy,” said White.

“Out the gates from the first fight, the fight exceeded all their expectations. I’ll let Paramount make their own announcement,, but it was monstrous tonight, monstrous. You don’t get calls from billionaires flipping out too often, so he is extremely excited. I’ll let them do their thing.”

On Thursday, they finally released the ratings, and they seem to be pretty happy.

According to Paramount, the entire fight card averaged 7 million viewers in the US. and 1.6 million viewers in Latin America.

In total, the broadcast reached 17 million viewers.
