University of South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley had quite the busy weekend. After getting into a postgame confrontation with UConn coach Geno Auriemma following the Gamecocks’ semifinal win, she then made headlines with her outfit in the final on Sunday.

For Sunday’s national championship game between South Carolina and UCLA, Dawn Staley wore a $2,300 Balenciaga jacket from the brand’s “Basketball Series” collection — a black jacket with “BALENCIAGA 01” in white letters on the front — as her Gamecocks fell to the Bruins by a score of 79-51.

This certainly isn’t the first time that Staley has worn designer clothes on the sidelines, as she wore Gucci in the first round of this year’s tournament and Balenciaga again in the second round.

In the past, she’s also been spotted sporting high-end brands such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Balenciaga, Givenchy, and Chanel, and even attended the Gucci Fashion Show in Milan in 2024.

Still, given the way that the Gamecocks were steamrolled by the Bruins in the title game, Staley’s outfit choice caught some heat on social media.

Sunday’s loss in the national championship was South Carolina’s fourth apperance in the title game in the last few years. The Gamecocks won in 2022 and 2024, and have lost in 2023, 2025, and 2026.

Andrea Hurley doesn’t know a lot about college basketball. The wife of UConn head coach Dan Hurley was not trying to prevent the Huskies from getting a technical foul against Duke.

She was just trying to prevent them from making the same mistake that she did!

As it would turn out, one of the most viral moments of the college basketball season was a coincidence. Those folding chairs are dangerous.

Andrea Hurley is not a college basketball fan.

Don’t get me wrong. Andrea will always support her husband and his team. She goes to the games to cheer for UConn and she genuinely cares for the players. She obviously wants them all to succeed.

But that’s about it! The head coach’s wife chooses not to learn the ins and outs of the sport.

Her relationship with Dan Hurley would not work if she was more knowledgable about basketball. Her mother-in-law tried early on to get her to care more about the game but she simply refuses to do so.

It is a large part of what makes the Hurleys such a great team! There are not many other people on this earth, if any, who could handle him.

As supportive as she is, Andrea still does not know the inner workings of college basketball after 28 years, five schools and two national championships. She could not tell you anything about analytics. In Dan’s words, “she could not tell you the difference between a three-pointer and a road game.”

Did UConn deserve a technical foul against Duke?

The Huskies erased a 17-point deficit during the second half of the Elite Eight. They stormed all of the way back to advance to the Final Four on an epic buzzer-beater from Braylon Mullins.

It was the shot of the year! UConn’s bench went bonkers. Maybe a little bit too bonkers.

Some college basketball fans (mostly those who cheer for Duke) believe the bench should’ve been called for a technical foul because players and coaches entered the court during live play!

A technical foul was not called. The Huskies won.

Andrea Hurley was widely celebrated for her attempt to avoid a technical foul in the immediate aftermath of Mullins’ triple because she tried to stop players from standing on chairs during the celebration.

However, she was not actually trying to avoid a technical foul. The wife of Dan Hurley didn’t even know they could be called for a technical foul in that moment.

Andrea was worried that the players who stood on the chairs would get hurt! She had just stood on a bench chair to change a lightbulb a few weeks ago and got injured when it collapsed on her leg.

Former Chicago Bulls guard Jaden Ivey was seemingly spotted on an Auburn street corner preaching about Jesus just days after he was released by the team. Ivey was cut by the Bulls for “conduct detrimental to the team.”

Over Easter weekend, videos began circulating of Jaden Ivey standing at Toomer’s Corner in Auburn, Alabama, preaching to pedestrians and joining a group already holding religious signs.

In the clip, Ivey can be heard quoting the bible verse Matthew 5:8 — “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” — while addressing a small crowd of onlookers.

While Ivey was cut following a rant on Instagram about the LGBTQ community, reports indicate that Ivey’s behavior was already grinding down the Bulls’ patience and the Instagram video was simply the final straw.

“The world proclaims LGBTQ, right? They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA does too. They show it to the world. They say, ‘Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.’ They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it in the streets. Unrighteousness. So how is it that one can’t speak righteousness?” Ivey said on Instagram in late March.

After being acquired from the Detroit Pistons in a trade on February 3, Ivey appeared in just four games for the Chicago Bulls before being cut and averaged 11.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game.

Ivey was selected by the Detroit Pistons out of Purdue University with the 5th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. His future in the NBA is uncertain at this time, as he has since claimed other teams won’t sign him because they think “he’s too religious.”

Prior to being trader to the Bulls, however, reports indicate that Ivey acted as a “preacher” while with the Pistons, with his media availability sessions becoming sermons in which he asked reporters whether they had been “saved” and if they had “fornicated before marriage.”

Looking Back At All 10 Starters In The NCAA Tournament Championship Game As Recruits

The Michigan Wolverines and UConn Huskies are set to square off for the biggest prize in college basketball in the championship game of the 2026 NCAA Tournament on Monday night.

For the Huskies and head coach Dan Hurley, it’s familiar territory, and they’ll play for their third national championship in four years. Meanwhile, Michigan head coach Dusty May has needed just two seasons to turn the Wolverines back into a national power, having last reached the title game in 2018 under John Beilein.

Both head coaches have successfully used the transfer portal to their disposal, with the Wolverines starting five players who began their careers elsewhere, and the Huskies having a pair of transfers in their starting five, including one who began his career at Michigan.

In this piece, we’re taking a look back at where each starter in the national championship game ranked as a recruit and respective their paths to this point.

Michigan Wolverines

The Wolverines looked every bit like a powerhouse through the first half of the season, blowing out any and all comers. May’s team is deep, talented, tall, and experienced.

Despite a small blip toward the end of the regular season and into the Big Ten tournament, Michigan has bounced back just fine in the NCAA Tournament, winning every single game by double digits, with a 13-point win over Alabama in the Sweet 16 serving as the closest margin of victory.

This is how the Wolverines’ starting lineup shakes out:

PG: Elliott Cadeau

Junior point guard Elliott Cadeau was an elite recruit in the class of 2023 who committed to play for Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

247Sports ranked Cadeau as the No. 12 overall player in his class and the second-ranked point guard behind Isaiah Collier.

In two seasons in Chapel Hill, he started a combined 68 games and served as the team’s primary initiator on offense. Cadeau made the move to Ann Arbor this season and has drastically improved his shooting, going from 33.7 percent to 37.9 percent from beyond the arc on more than twice as many attempts as he took a year ago.

SG: Nimari Burnett

Like Cadeau, Burnett was a highly touted recruit out of high school, ranking as a four-star and the No. 38 overall recruit in the country.

He initially committed to Texas Tech University, where he played 12 games in 2020-21 as a true freshman. Burnett then redshirted due to injury before transferring to Alabama.

He played in 27 games, including nine starts, for the Crimson Tide in 2022-23, but entered the portal against before committing to Michigan and then-head coach Juwan Howard.

Burnett started all 32 games under Howard in 2023-24 and stayed in Ann Arbor when May came aboard. He’s continued to hold down his starting role and is now a valuable two-way guard who shoots 38 percent from beyond the arc.

F: Yaxel Ledenborg

Yaxel Lendebor is both the Wolverines’ most controversial and perhaps best player, and he comes with the most unlikely story of the starting five.

Lendeborg was entirely unranked coming out of high school and spent three seasons playing at the junior college level for Arizona Western College before transferring to UAB.

It was in Birmingham that he made himself a star, playing two seasons and averaging 17.7 points, 11.4 rebounds,L and 4.2 assists a year ago. When he entered the transfer portal, 247Sports ranked him as the No. 1 transfer in the nation, and he’s shown exactly why this season.

Lendeborg was a unanimous first-team All-American this season and has turned himself into both the heartbeat of the Michigan team and a first-round pick in this summer’s NBA Draft.

F: Morez Johnson Jr.

Morez Johnson Jr. was a big-time recruit in the class of 2024 when he committed to the in-state Illinois Fighting Illini.

247Sports ranked him as the No. 31 overall recruit in the country and the sixth-ranked center, although he’s played mostly power forward for the Wolverines.

Johnson played in 30 games and started eight for Brad Underwood and the Fighting Illini last season before entering the transfer portal.

At Michigan, he immediately slotted into the starting lineup between Lendeborg and center Aday Mara and has had an immediate impact, averaging 13 points and 7.3 points per game across 39 starts.

C: Aday Mara

The aforementioned Aday Mara is flying up NBA Draft boards after a strong showing in the NCAA Tournament to this point.

The Spaniard was a five-star recruit in the class of 2023 and the third-ranked center. He initially committed to Mick Cronin and the UCLA Bruins, making 61 appearances, but just nine starts over his first two seasons.

He entered the transfer portal following the 2024-25 season and wound up in Ann Arbor, where he has started 38 of 39 games and serves as the team’s defensive anchor, averaging a Big Ten-leading 2.6 blocks per game.

Mara’s 7-foot-3 frame and soft hands make him an interesting prospect at the next level and a load to deal with Michigan’s opponents.

UConn Huskies

At this point, reaching the Final Four and winning national championships has become the standard under Hurley in Storrs.

Hurley took over a program in disarray in 2018, and after re-entering the Big East, has turned UConn into perhaps the best program in the nation right now on a year-to-year basis. In fact, it’s hard to argue otherwise.

This year’s team is made up primarily of players he recruited out of high school, supplement by a pair of transfer starters who have had a big impact and taken the Huskies from a second-round exit a year ago to the national championship game this season.

PG: Silas Demary Jr.

Demary, a four-star recruit in the class of 2023, began his career with the Georgia Bulldogs and played two seasons in Athens, starting 69 of 70 games played and earning freshman All-SEC honors in 2023-24.

Demary hit the portal prior to this past season and found his way to Storrs, where he’s been an important cog in Hurley’s three-guard starting lineup.

He averages 10.3 points per game to go along with a team-high six assists, and has improved his shooting each season in college, going from 30.3 percent, to 37.4, and finally 38.9 this season.

G: Solo Ball

Solo Ball was a four-star, top 50 recruit out of the state of Maryland when he signed for Hurley and the Huskies in 2023.

He made an immediate impact as well, playing in 39 games as a true freshman on a national championship winning team in 2023-24.

Last season, Ball started all 35 games for the Huskies and took on a more predominant role in the offense. This season, he’s received significantly more help from Demary and freshman Braylon Mullins, who we’ll get to shortly.

Ball is averaging 12.9 points per game for UConn, and while he’s only shooting 29.6 percent from deep, his 6.6 attempts per game ensure that opposing defenses have to stay honest.

G: Braylon Mullins

The aforementioned Mullins was a blue chip recruit out of Indiana in the class of 2025 and the true freshman has lived up to the billing at times this season.

He averages just 12 points per game on 33.7 percent from beyond the arc, but Mullins has maturity beyond his years and isn’t afraid of the moment, as he showed with his incredible game-winning 3-pointer against Duke in the Elite Eight.

Mullins has slowly but steadily improved his play on the defensive end of the floor as well for the Huskies. He’s a projected first-round pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. But it wouldn’t be a shock to see him back in Storrs next season when he could be in line for a larger role and a big-time season.

F: Alex Karaban

The old man of the group for UConn, Alex Karaban, is also the lowest-rated recruit of the bunch, although he was still a four-star in the calss of 2020.

Tradtionalists will appreciate Karaban’s path through the college game, as he redshirted as a true freshman before earning a role as a start on both the 2023 and 2024 national championship teams.

There was talk that Karaban could enter the NBA Draft in 2024 following an impressive NCAA Tournament showing, but he remained in Storrs for another season.

Karaban saw his role in the offense grow last season, but his shooting dipped a bit from 37.9 percent to 34.7 percent from deep. This year, he’s back up to 37.8 percent and he’s continued to show off his versatiliy, hauling in 5.1 rebounds per game and guarding multiple postions on defense.

C: Tarris Reed Jr.

If there’s one player, above all else, who wants to win a national champion on Monday night, it’s Tarris Reed Jr.

The former four-star recruit in the class of 2022 committed to play for Juwan Howard and Wolverines and did just that for two seasons, making 66 appearances and becoming a full-time starter in 2023-24.

However, when Howard got fired and May came in, Reed hit the portal and eventually landed with the Huskies.

The 2024-25 season was a bit of an adjustmenet period for the Missouri native, as he came off the bench in all but one of his 35 appearance.

But this year, he’s taken ahold of the starting center job and performed admirably, scoring a team-high 14.8 points per game on 61.7 percent from the field, which led the Big East.

Reed also averages 8.8 rebounds and two blocks per game, and his athleticism makes him an intriguing prospect at the next level.

If he could go out with a win over his old team in the NCAA Tournament final, it would be quite the feather in his cap.

‘Won’t Be Eating These’: Tennessee Walmart Customer Buys Pillsbury Biscuits. Then She Goes To Bake Them—And Takes A Closer Look

A Tennessee-based TikToker was making herself some Pillsbury biscuits. But she was stopped in her tracks by something unusual in the dough.

While unsavory things have shown up in Pillsbury products before, this was on another level.

“I wanted to make this video to inform people to be careful when they buy the [biscuits] in a can,” TikToker Sparkle Martin (@sparkle.with.lemo) says. “I’ve been buying these all my life, and I have never seen anything like this.” She told viewers she had been buying the biscuits for a long time from Walmart.

Martin also holds up a piece of dough to the camera that contained silver flecks.

“So, as you can see, I thought everything was OK, but then I was like, ‘What is that?’ And I go to look in it, and there’s metal. There’s metal all in the biscuit,” she says.

She adds, “That is dangerous. That is highly dangerous, and it’s all in it. I’m like, I’m actually shocked.”

Martin says she initially thought it was in just one piece but then discovered there were bits of silver in other pieces of dough “clear as day.”

“Yeah, so, won’t be eating these,” she continues. “But wow. Definitely wanted to inform people.”

Accompanying the footage was on-screen text that read: “Check your food before you COOK IT! Metal found in Pillsbury Biscuits Butter Tastin’ Flaky Layer.”

The video garnered 140,700 views.

Some commenters were shaken by this discovery. “If this goes viral and the company tries to contact you, go for the lawsuit instead plsssss,” one wrote.

“FDA needs to do better they let too many things slide,” a second said.

While a third asked, “Can someone please tell me what the heck is going on seriously with our food? I’m 56 years old and have found more weird stuff in my food in the last year than I have in my whole life. It’s scary and crazy.”

However, other users implied that Walmart was the underlying issue here. “Why do ppl still shop at Walmart?” a fourth asked. “They are notorious for bad products.”

“Don’t buy food from Walmart please,” a fifth added. And a sixth said, “Walmart food is horrible.”

In two follow-ups, the TikToker responded to commenters saying the cans were old by explaining that the ‘rust’ on the cans were just where she spilled something on them. She also responded to viewers’ claims that what she was seeing was just parts of the outer wrapping . She did this by opening up another can. Inside this can, debris from the wrapper was attached to the dough, but as Martin pointed out, there was no metal. She also reposted this footage in a third clip.

It’s A Widespread Problem

Over the past two years, multiple Reddit users have shared similar stories. All of these posts included either footage or pictures of similar silver flecks in their dough. “No wonder the roof of my mouth hurts,” one user quipped.

Moreover, back in 2025, two other TikTokers went viral after sharing an identical problem. User @badgalprepre was making pizza rolls with Pillsbury dough when she discovered flecks of metal in the dough. “There are literally metal shavings in this biscuit dough,” she said. “How is this OK? We’ve been eating metal.”

Similarly, TikTok user Marina (@marinathingz) was horrified when she found the same. “I’m pulling these freaking biscuits out, and they all have … little pieces of aluminum in them,” she complained.

The only way that Pillsbury has directly addressed this is with a 2015 X post in response to a disgruntled customer. “Sorry to see that!” the post read. “Sometimes, tiny pieces of the silver paper packaging sticks to the dough.”

What Did The TikToker Say?

In a TikTok direct message interview with BroBible, Martin said, “I am a Christian woman and I have a very strong level of discernment and the lord told me to look deeper into what I was preparing for my children . Especially in this day and age you never know what it is that you’re eating.”

She also explained that she had opened up another can and found that it had no pieces in it but added that it was “unfortunate” as she had bought three cans in total and was unsure whether the biscuits she and her family already consumed also had metal in them.

“I want the viewers to take away that God is trying to open our eyes that a lot of these companies are middle man companies and they are cutting corners to get our money and not caring about the quality and safety of the products their selling,” she added. “It’s very important.”

She continued, “My oldest is 6 years old he is autistic and it’s very common for children with autism to have reported to have had lead and metal in their system. A lot of times because if the food their consuming and my son LOVES PILLSBURY so the fact that it is this unsafe I have decided to stop buying their products of all kind and that really broke his heart. But safety matters. I want the viewers to take this seriously, it’s not a joke. It’s real life.”

According to Martin, nobody is taking the situation “seriously,” and she claimed that Pillsbury hasn’t reached out yet. “It’s been more than enough time for Pillsbury to reach out and they haven’t, so Im going to keep reposting until they apologize and work on the upgrading the quality of their food, as I so know accidents happen,” she added. “Those same accidents can cause someone their life!”

In terms of the video’s reception, Martin added that she got “lots of feedback” and said the video had even been liked and reposted by a celebrity.

“This video is going to reach people who understand God is trying to wake us up to be more aware of what we’re eating and doing in our lives,” she told us. “A lot of viewers are arguing whether it’s Walmart fault for selling it or Pillsbury for making it. But it doesn’t matter. The MAIN THING IS BRINGING AWARENESS AND LETTING GOD HANDLE THE REST.”

General Mills, who own Pillsbury, didn’t immediately respond to BroBible’s request for comment via email. Walmart, who we contacted via contact form, has also not provided a comment.

Yaxel Lendeborg was injured in Michigan’s Final Four win over Arizona. That setback did not keep him off the court for long.

The veteran forward re-entered the contest after rolling his ankle. He refused to be benched, defying his mom and agent in the process.

Lendeborg put the team above his pro future. He chose to play rather than protect his NBA opportunities.

The forward re-entered the matchup, logging 14 minutes and scoring 11 points. Lendeborg buried each of his three three-point attempts.

Lendeborg’s return was a positive for the Wolverines, as were the results of his MRI.

Michigan trainer Chris Williams told ESPN that the knee looked “very clean structurally,” and that “all the ligaments are very strong.” The injury has been classified as a low-grade MCL sprain.

While the Wolverines were happy to re-insert Lendeborg into the lineup, he wasn’t needed in the win. Michigan led by 16 at halftime, and as many as 30 during the second half.

Lendeborg could’ve easily sat on the bench for the blowout. In fact, he was advised to. No one would’ve blamed him. Instead, he chose to lay it on the line.

Lendeborg defied his agent.

“I wanted to show that I’m not going to give up on (my teammates),” he said in an interview with CBS Sports. “I know they have my back regardless, but I wanted to be out there with those guys.

“Even if I don’t feel good this game, I could try to get a feel for the gym, get a feel for the rims, and try to make if feel a little better for Monday.

“I was talking to my agent and trying to get back out there. He kept telling me no. My mom said no. But I’m gonna get out there no matter what.”

Yaxel Lendeborg did not need to return to the game. The Wolverines were in complete control. His presence was meaningless as it relates to the final outcome.

It was meaningful, however, to Lendeborg. He demonstrated leadership and team-first attitude. He also displayed his basketball IQ.

The forward has not played in Lucas Oil Stadium, the venue for the Final Four and national championship matchups. He wanted to get a feel for the gym.

Playing in football stadiums often present issues with depth perception. Lendeborg wanted to be comfortable for the title bout vs. UCONN.

He says the ability to return also helped him gain confidence. He knows he can play despite the scary setback. His knee will hold up.

Money was not on Lendeborg’s mind during the Final Four. His NBA career was not the first thought. Michigan’s championship pursuit is the top priority. Lendeborg refuses to be denied the opportunity to play.

The Virginia women’s basketball team made the Sweet 16 for the first time in a quarter century this past season. It will now move into next year without the leader of that program.

Head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton has been fired. Her players are now bailing, too.

The decision to let Agugua-Hamilton go was surprising given the results of her most recent campaign. The Cavaliers went 22-12 and picked up a trio of NCAA Tournament wins to advance to the second weekend of competition.

The year ended with a 10-point loss to TCU. Momentum for 2026-27 has now been lost.

Amaka Agugua-Hamilton was fired.

No reason has been given. The university released a short, three-sentence statement on the canning.

Virginia Athletics announced today (April 4) Amaka Agugua-Hamilton will not return as head coach of the women’s basketball program. Agugua-Hamilton finished her four-year tenure at UVA with a 70-58 record, including a 29-42 mark in ACC play. A national search will begin immediately.

There were no heartfelt goodbyes. No reference was made to her historic final season. Just an impersonal message on the future.

According to USA Today, UVA has not responded for clarity on the situation. Sources close to the program, however, claim that Agugua-Hamilton was the subject of an internal investigation.

There are allegations of staff mistreatment.

At this moment in time, we do not know what the investigation turned up. We do not definitively know the reasoning behind it. It’s a mystery.

We do know that Agugua-Hamilton won’t return in 2026. The uncertainty has created issues for current team members.

The man whom Tiger Woods hit in a car crash during his DUI arrest has hired a lawyer.

Last week, Woods crashed into a truck backing out of his driveway before getting arrested for suspicion of DUI when he failed several sobriety tests and refused to take a urinalysis test.

Deputies quickly observed Tiger appeared impaired and lethargic. They conducted an alcohol test and it registered 0.00%. Sheriff John Budensiek said, during the news conference, he believes Tiger was not under the influence of alcohol, but rather medication.

Tiger was placed under arrest and taken to the station, where he refused a urine test. He was booked on DUI and refusal to submit to the urinalysis.

The driver of the pickup truck tried to turn into a driveway, but the Range Rover was going at such a high speed that the pickup truck could not fully enter the driveway, and Tiger clipped that vehicle, causing the Range Rover to flip over on the driver’s side.

According to TMZ, the man whom Woods crashed into has hired a personal injury attorney to represent him.

The notice of appearance and invocation of rights were filed in Florida on Thursday … showing Jeromy Bullard will be represented by Jason Fagnano, a personal injury attorney who specializes in auto, truck, motorcycle, bicycle and pedestrian accidents.

According to the report, the damage done to his rig was around $5,000.

Woods is facing DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test … and was hit with a careless driving citation as well.

Woods is currently overseas seeking treatment and will likely not face any legal issues until he gets back from rehab.

Elliot Cadeau Put Michigan First By Executing Big Brain Plan To Have Awful Game On Purpose

Elliot Cadeau was not the star in Michigan’s Final Four win over Arizona on Saturday night, at least not on the stat sheet. In fact, on paper, it appeared he had a truly awful night shooting the basketball.

Dusty May drew it up that way. Cadeau executed the plan to perfection. He purposely posted terrible numbers to achieve the best possible result.

The Wolverines advanced to the national title game with a blowout win over the Wildcats. The 91-73 final score actually made the game seem closer than it really was.

Michigan was up by 16 at halftime. Its lead grew to 30 before Arizona closed the gap in garbage time. The Wolverines believed in their head coach’s approach, even if it meant making sacrifices.

Elliot Cadeau had a good, bad night.

The point guard recorded a final line of 13 points and 10 assists. He shot just 29% from the field with the majority of those misses coming from close range.

Dusty May commented on that performance after the fact. He says the stats were misleading.

“A couple of those (misses) were passes off the backboard,” the coach clarified.

He explained that the team went away from the typical lob passes to counteract Arizona’s size inside. It, instead, relied on Cadeau making high arching passes off the backboard which ricocheted into the hands of Michigan bigs.

As a result, Cadeau’s night looked average. His teammates were the beneficiaries, Aday Mara in particular.

The center scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Three of those boards were off the offensive glass. A couple might’ve actually been assists from Cadeau, at least in Dusty May’s mind.

“(It’s) something May saw in film,” said assistant Mike Boynton. “Elliot is a wizard with the ball in his hands. He four missed shots credited to him that were passes.”

Elliot Cadeau sacrificed his stat line to get the win. Had his coaching staff not let the media in on the secret, most would’ve continued believing he struggled offensively.

He didn’t mind. The team was the most important thing. The unselfishness has Michigan playing for a national title.

Most diners expect a tip prompt after tapping their credit card on the table-side payment tablets at restaurants. However, a Chili’s customer noticed a different kind of request and quickly refused in front of the server.

In a video with over 115,000 views, TikToker Saavirus (@saavirus) holds up a small tablet across from another guest. The tablet shows a blue screen with the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital logo. It asks the Chili’s guests if they want to donate to the charity, which provides free medical treatment to children with rare diseases and cancers.

The TikToker makes a face and quickly hits the skip button. The camera pans over to the server, who stands at the end of the table waiting for them to finish the transaction.

On-screen text reads, “With the waiter there and everything.” A woman sitting next to the TikToker covers her face in reaction to his dramatic refusal to donate.

Does Chili’s Partner With St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital?

The option to donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital after a meal at Chili’s isn’t new. In fact, the restaurant chain has partnered with the charity since 2002 and has raised more than $114 million in donations for the cause.

Chili’s even has a St. Jude’s facility named after it: The Chili’s Care Center medical building.

According to Chili’s website, it prompts all dine-in and online order customers with a donation screen for St. Jude’s. Chili’s workers on Reddit say that the chain also provides St. Jude’s t-shirts for the staff to wear during the month of September to promote the donation campaign.

What Do Customers Think Of Donation Screens?

On the r/Chilis subreddit, some customers lamented that the donation screen adds to the already lengthy checkout process at the chain.

One diner posted pictures of the three prompts they received after tapping their card: a tip screen, a donation screen, and a survey screen. They wrote, “Now I have to play 20 questions and be prompted to donate to charity…I just wanted a burger and a beer.”

Commenters agreed that the long tablet checkout detracts from their dining experience at Chili’s.

“They only take payment with that tablet thingy. Very wack. Won’t be back,” one wrote.

“I also don’t like being asked for a charitable donation as I like to support my own chosen charities. Not that they aren’t good ones but I only have so much money to go around,’ another said.

“I agree charities are in poor taste,” a third remarked.

Does Chili’s Get A Tax Break From Donations?

Commenters on the viral TikTok debated whether it’s best to donate to charities through a restaurant or individually.

“To be fair they already donated they just want you to pay them back,” one suggested. A second replied, “They use these donation as a tax write off. The best way is to DIRECTLY donate to these organizations.”

However, some point out the common misconception that companies get a tax write off from customer donations, which has been debunked.

One said, “Omg donations made by the customer can’t be written off. the money never goes to the company and the customer can actually write it off.”

“Only you get the tax write off they don’t, that would be illegal, that’s why the put the donation on YOUR receipt,” another viewer wrote.

In a viral TikTok, Ceylan Rucker (@ceylanrucker) alleges that the owner of Daylight Sushi was beyond rude in a situation that was simply a mix-up. “Believe it or not, my husband and I have never had sushi,” she says.

So they decided to remedy this by visiting the “highly recommended” restaurant near their neighborhood. Based on her description, the restaurant is fast casual. You order at a counter and get your food delivered to your seat.

“Every time someone asks if we like sushi, we say, ‘No, we don’t like it,” she explains. But the truth is, neither she nor her husband has actually eaten sushi.

“We were so excited to try it,” says Rucker.

Chicken. Fried. Rice.

The problems started when she and her husband tried to order a meal for their 1-year-old daughter. They wanted something simple for the baby to enjoy, so they ordered chicken fried rice—or at least that’s what they thought they ordered.

“We order a salmon roll for me, a spicy tuna roll for my husband, and then I ordered fried rice. I say, ‘Can I get the fried rice with chicken, please,'” she says.

She notes that she specified “chicken” because there were several proteins to choose from.

And here’s where things get confused. She says she explained to the cashier that she wanted it however they regularly sell it. They paid and then waited for their food. But as they waited, Rucker alleges that the owner/chef was standing behind the counter and “mean-mugging” her 1-year-old daughter.

“He’s staring at her like she’s a problem,” she says.

An Easy Fix?

But that’s just the beginning because the baby’s food came out wrong, Rucker says. As the dishes are served, Rucker noticed that her child’s meal is rice, chicken, and noodles with sauce—not what she ordered. She says she brought this to her server’s attention, and she was informed that this meal is the chicken rice bowl.

At this point, it should be an easy swap. But Rucker says the chef/owner ultimately blamed Rucker for ordering incorrectly.

Then, Rucker claims, he yelled an ultimatum across the restaurant, “You either get chicken fried rice, or you get a full refund and leave.”

Rucker says they went with the rice.

Should’ve Gotten The Refund

But even as the family tried to enjoy their meal, she says the restaurant staff talked about them at an audible volume.

Several of the 128,800 people who’ve watched the video are Rucker’s neighbors. And they’ve had similar experiences at the restaurant, they claimed.

“I went with my toddlers and he sent the waiter to our table to tell me my kids needed to sit properly in there [sic] seats. Keep in mind they are 2 and 3 at the time and couldn’t reach the table properly to eat . Mean mugged us the whole time was extremely rude. Decided to try a second time without the kiddos and was still extremely rude! Never again,” said one.

Another neighbor weighed in, writing, “So sorry Mama, this place is not great. I’ve tried several times and it’s just not good.”

Next, the chat takes a Glassdoor-style turn: “I don’t want to get trouble if I say too much but imma just say the management style was just as bad as the customer service,” claimed a user who said she worked there for about 18 months.

What Should She Have Done?

Sometimes restaurants with harsh tendencies can have a certain abrupt charm. But not always. So what’s a hungry guest to do? While there’s no rule to force a business owner to be polite, the most effective course of action can be to share your experience online and in reviews. Also: Don’t return.

Because restaurants are hospitality spaces, most people expect a gracious experience. But you never know who is having a bad day. Or, a bad life. So perhaps take any refund offered and spend it where your patronage is appreciated.

Parents Board Allegiant Florida-To-Indiana Flight With Crying Baby. Then They’re Asked To Get Off The Plane

No one likes sitting next to a crying baby on a flight—parents included. But is a baby crying enough to get parents kicked off a flight?

That’s what many viewers are wondering after a video taken on an Allegiant Air flight went viral. In a clip with over 1.3 million views, TikTok user Jessica Brennan (@jessicabrennan66) documents an incident she says occurred on a recent flight from Punta Gorda, Florida, to Indianapolis, Indiana.

According to a complaint filed by Brennan, a couple began boarding a flight with their baby when they were asked for the child’s birth certificate. The couple provided the birth certificate, but the fuss and added stress caused the baby to begin crying.

“The employee then started to accuse the baby of having a fever,” Brennan says. “The mother responded that she’s an ICU nurse and the baby didn’t have a fever but was just crying.”

Following this, the couple went to their seats. A few moments later, they were asked to leave the flight.

What Happened On This Allegiant Air Flight?

In a follow-up video recorded by Brennan, an employee can be seen telling the couple that they need to leave the flight per Medlink’s orders. This decision, they say, cannot be overridden.

Even though the couple tried to explain that the baby did not have a fever, the staff member insisted that the baby had a fever due to his red coloration and the alleged presence of a rash on the baby’s back—something the parents deny.

“It was clear to all the other passengers, including myself, that this child did not have a fever but was a typical fussy baby,” Brennan says in her complaint.

The employee remained unconvinced. Once the worker threatened to call law enforcement, the couple got up and left the plane—later sharing their own perspective on what happened to TikTok.

The Couple’s Side Of The Story

Across several videos, Syd (@quarantinecutiee), the mother of the baby, explained their side of the story.

According to the caption under a slideshow posted by Syd, the parents boarded the flight with the baby without issue. As it was hot, and the baby recently made a mess after eating, they decided to remove the child’s shirt.

At this point, a worker approached them and asked for information about their baby. After handing over the information, the staff seemed unconvinced, calling the child an “unidentified infant” and eventually reporting that the baby was “feverish” and not clear to fly.

“Nobody would come and see her,” Syd writes. “Nobody would even come and take her temperature. They said well she looks red and it looks like a rash.”

After they were removed, the couple says Allegiant booked them on the next flight out—which left at 11am the following morning. They were not given their luggage, nor were they provided with a car, accommodations, or a stroller for the baby. Instead, Syd says the airline gave them “an unclaimed car seat that has no padding and isn’t age appropriate.”

Thankfully, the couple managed to make the second flight. This flight, they said, occurred without issue.

“We called Allegiant and they just keep telling us we are not able to get any sort of compensation for our time or experience,” Syd wrote. “They wouldn’t email or give me any policies on traveling with infants and they wouldn’t connect me to a supervisor of any kind.”

In a TikTok DM exchange, Syd says that Allegiant is refusing to compensate her for the issue. She claims that there was never a medical assessment of her child, and that any apparent concerns from staff regarding the appearance of her baby were likely due to her red coloration due to skin sensitivity.

As for why the couple was singled out, Syd has theories.

“I originally thought maybe they thought she was being trafficked. They kept passing around her birth certificate at check in. The attendant originally said they were looking for an unidentified infant. They asked over and over again her date of birth, her name, where we were going, where we came from,” she wrote.

“Some have said it is but they also didn’t give us paper boarding passes the first time but when I came to the second flight the next day they told me anyone with a child under 12 had to have paper boarding passes to show they checked ID and birth certificates,” she added.

On the second flight, Syd says they were given extra leg room and refreshments. Additionally, they were told that if the infant truly was sick, they would have had to wait 24 hours before boarding a flight. The fact that Allegiant booked them on a flight before 24 hours was up, she says, shows how invalid the airline’s assessment was.

“I really just want an apology and I wanted a refund for my flights. I had to miss a night working, I didn’t get to get pick up my other two kids from their dad on time, I had to get our pet sitter to stay another night at our house, I had to pay for another night parking at Indy’s airport. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for them to give that money back for an inconvenience they caused,” she shared. “It’s also super embarrassing to be walked from the second to last row of a plane back to the front to get off and to be threatened for police to come and kick us off.”

What Allegiant Says

For their part, Allegiant provided BroBible with the following statement:

We are aware of the situation involving Mrs. Tash and her family traveling on Allegiant flight 608 from Punta Gorda to Indianapolis on March 27 and understand that travel disruptions, especially those involving families, can be frustrating.

Our crews are responsible for making real-time decisions that prioritize the safety and well-being of all passengers on board. If a crew member has concerns about a passenger’s ability to travel, especially when an infant or potential medical issue is involved, they may pause boarding to consult our medical information service provider, MedLink.

Allegiant does not make medical diagnoses, and flight attendants are not medical professionals. MedLink connects flight crews directly to aviation-trained emergency medicine physicians with extensive experience managing in-flight medical events. In this instance, our crew consulted MedLink after observing symptoms that raised concern, which is standard procedure and consistent with industry practice across many airlines when a passenger health issue arises. Based on the information available, MedLink advised that it was not in the child’s best interest to continue travel.

The family was rebooked on a later Allegiant flight and provided accommodations intended to help ease the disruption to their travel plans.

Syd disputes this assessment.

“There were no accommodations in place,” she wrote. “I don’t see how extra leg room helps disruption of travel plans. We did not get a place to stay, food, or any help with transportation to get somewhere safe for the night. We got publicly humiliated, an unsafe car seat, and was unable to even talk to anyone higher up. They were extremely unprofessional.”

To close, Syd offered a final thought.

“People are entitled to a childless life, but not a child-free world. My kids will be on planes, in restaurants, and at stores. They deserve to experience the world and I’m not keeping him home just because you don’t want kids around. I’m also not going to make my baby sit in a car seat for 15 hours instead of a 2 hour flight,” she wrote. “Also, if flights want to have policies on traveling they need to be posted and medical personnel should be available in person and not just over a phone. You cannot examine someone through audio on a cell phone. Not even talking to the parent of the infant about the child seems unprofessional as well.”

What Can The Couple Do?

Allegiant Air’s Contract of Carriage gives the airline broad abilities to remove passengers for reasons they see fit. Among these abilities are the right to remove passengers “known to have a contagious disease” if it is determined to be a “direct threat.”

The airline may argue that it made the determination that the couple’s baby could have posed a threat to other passengers. This falls under the airline’s “Comfort and Safety” section of its Contract of Carriage. Consequently, the couple would not be afforded the rights provided to other passengers who have been “bumped” or denied boarding.

Given this, there’s little direct legal recourse for the couple. However, they can begin to document all of the costs incurred as a result of the airline’s decision. They can then pursue the airline to reimburse these costs, though it’s unclear if such measures would be successful.

Commenters Are Divided

In the comments section, some users insisted that the airline was right to remove the couple and their baby.

“I’m 100% with the airline,” reads one highly favorited comment.

“I would be cheering,” offered another.

That said, many users sided with the parents.

“One of my kids cried like this every time he was in the car seat. People have no idea that some babies cry more and angrier than others, I guess,” detailed a commenter. “She just needed time to settle down, given that she did stop crying as soon as her dad stood up. Having a stranger in your face and your parents upset isn’t exactly soothing.”

“We were a few rows up from you. We weren’t aware of why you were being asked to leave. I feel terrible for you. I can’t imagine how stressful that was and not having any luggage or car seat,” shared a second. “All I can say is that you both handled the situation in the most tactful way. Kuddos for being so calm through it all.”

The Arizona baseball team hosted rival Arizona State on the diamond over the weekend. Game 3 of the series ignited drama.

The Sun Devils annihilated the Wildcats, 15-6. They tried to pour as many runs on as possible in the closing moments of play.

ASU manager Willie Bloomquist’s actions were challenged by his counterpart. He opened up on his reasoning after the fact.

Arizona State won this year’s baseball rivalry.

The two teams split the first two games of the set. Arizona State would take the rubber match in convincing fashion.

The Sun Devils got started quick with a six-run first inning. They didn’t look back.

ASU put four more runs up in the top of the third frame to extend its lead to 10-1. They led 12-6 in the top of the ninth. They’d add some insurance to further embarrass the Wildcats.

Arizona State pushed three more runs across the plate in its final at-bat. The Sun Devils used a little small ball to do so. Arizona coach Chip Hale took offense to the antics. He viewed it as disrespect.

Bloomquist thought differently. He opened up on his approach after the win.

The UCONN basketball team will play for its third national title in four seasons. The Huskies beat Illinois in the Final Four to advance on Saturday.

Head coach Dan Hurley was booed mercilessly by fans in Indianapolis. He did not care.

Hurley is a polarizing figure in college basketball. UCONN fans love him. Most everyone else despises him with a passion.

The coach’s sideline demeanor and antics with officials rub many the wrong way. He’s been unable to avoid headlines this year in the NCAA Tournament.

Illinois Fans Subjected To Unescapable Serenade On Sad Escalator Ride After March Madness Takeover

UCONN supporters made sure to see them out on their sad exit from the venue. They serenaded the Illini with fight songs after the game. There was nowhere to run.

Illinois advanced to the national semifinal thanks to a 4-0 run in the NCAA Tournament. Included in those victories were an upset of 2-seed Houston and squashing of conference rival Iowa.

The Illini had been clicking on all cylinders both offensively and defensively during March Madness. Each of their four wins had come by double digits. They ran into the buzzsaw that is UCONN over the weekend.

Illinois’ basketball season is over.

After a back-and-forth opening 15 minutes, the Huskies closed the first half on a 16-7 run and never looked back. They took an eight-point advantage into the break before going onto win, 71-62.

Illinois closed the gap to four points in the final minute of regulation. UCONN guard Braylon Mullins, the hero against Duke, hit the dagger with a three-point shot to put the game out of reach.

For the Huskies, the win books a third national title trip in four seasons. The Illini came up just short.

Fans made the short trip from Illinois to Indianapolis in support of their school. The team was well represented. It was as close to a home game as you’ll see in the Final Four.

It really feels like half of Lucas Oil Stadium is Illinois fans.

The Huskies sang fight songs to troll their foe. They did so as the Illini rode miserably down an escalator, confined by the railings. They couldn’t leave fast enough.

A woman is calling out Starbucks after claiming the chain sent her to the hospital.

In a video with over 1.3 million views, TikTok user Janna (@jannawaugh) says that Starbucks “tried to kill” her.

According to Janna, her order began as it usually does. She ordered a Venti iced vanilla latte, blonde espresso, sugar-free vanilla syrup, oat milk, and cold foam. Janna says that she is a frequent Starbucks customer, visiting the store “every other day.”

This day, however, was different. After taking a sip, she says she felt something strange on her tongue. It was, per Janna’s description, “super hairy, nasty,” akin to a caterpillar.

Upon closer examination, Janna says she realized that her drink was filled with mold.

What Happened Next?

Once she realized she had consumed mold, Janna says the reaction was immediate.

“Elevated blood pressure, hives, nausea. Felt like I was gonna throw up,” she summarizes.

Concerned, she says she went to urgent care. There, she says she was told to take Benadryl and an antihistamine allergy medication, which she was instructed to take for the next seven days.

“Even though that was not super fun, my heart is hurt the most,” she states. “But I will say today was my last day going to Starbucks.”

Starbucks Responds

In a follow-up slideshow, Janna shows an email she allegedly received in response from Starbucks.

The email offers an apology. However, it also confusingly states, “Even thought things happened, I have to say that thanks heaven this did not incur in any hospitalization, nor the foreign object being swallowed, which might have been dangerous.” While Janna voluntarily went to urgent care, she says she believes she ingested some mold.

Starbucks also allegedly offered Janna $75 in store credit as part of their apology. In a comment, Janna says that she did not accept this offer.

Following the email, Janna presents evidence of her visit to urgent care. The notes say she presented with itching and nausea. In the next slide, “allergic reaction” is listed under “differential diagnosis.” This is different from an actual diagnosis; a differential diagnosis is a list of possible conditions that could explain someone’s symptoms, not a definitive explanation of why these symptoms are occurring.

Does She Have A Legal Case?

A restaurant serving moldy food is a problem. Not only can moldy food make someone sick, but if a restaurant is serving spoiled food to customers, it could be an indication that they are failing to meet other health and safety standards as well.

This is why experts recommend reporting restaurants that serve moldy food to local health authorities. From there, the relevant agencies will be able to determine if it was a one-off mistake or a bigger problem with which the restaurant needs to deal.

In the comments section, many users encouraged Janna to pursue a lawsuit. Her ability to actually file suit, however, would depend on a few factors—for example, what exactly was in the drink, whether Starbucks was responsible for it, whether it actually caused her symptoms, and what damages she can prove.

If she can prove that she had symptoms, that Starbucks was responsible, and the experience caused damages, it’s possible that she has the grounds for a legal case. That said, urgent care listing a possible allergic reaction under “differential diagnosis” may not be enough to prove damages for a personal injury lawsuit.

Commenters Are Angry

In the comments section, users expressed their anger while sharing their own experiences.

“As someone who works there i literally have no clue how that wouldve happened considering we hand make the drinks?? like the barista DEFINITELY saw that s— and STILL handing the drink out,” wrote a commenter.

“As a 225 Starbucks barista, that is NASTY. I’ve worked at 4 different stores across different districts and states, and all of them have cleaned the ice bins to standard nightly, and deep cleaned them once a week!!!” exclaimed another. “Report to 1-800-SBUX and notify the local health department! I’m so sorry this happened to you!”

“As a Starbucks barista, there’s noooo reason there should be mold!! Starbucks standards are so HIGH. That store needs to be audited asap because this is sooo bad (I believe you),” stated a third.

It’s one thing to get comped a dessert because you’re cute. It’s another thing when the restaurant makes assumptions about your ability to afford a meal and then is aggressively kind.

Just the other day, Shae Denise (@shaedenisemua) experienced the kind of “nice” that feels very assumption-coded. In a TikTok with over 39,000 views, Shae Denise explains what happened when she took her child out to Chili’s.

‘Just Wanted A Snack’

Underneath in-video text that reads, “I was called broke by my waitress,” Shae Denise explains that she and her daughter went to Chili’s and ended up getting a “Pick 3” meal to share.

“I wasn’t that hungry,” she says. So they decided to split mozzarella sticks, chicken strips, and a burger.

Then the waitress came to take the drink order, and while her daughter got lemonade, “I’m not trying to drink all that sugary s____, so I got a water,” says the TikTok creator.

When the food came out, Shae Denise says she divided the food up pretty evenly.

Sweet Tooth Strikes

After they’d concluded their meal, Shae Denise says her sweet tooth struck, so they decided to order a skillet cookie. They split that in half, too. And that’s when things started to go sideways.

As she delivered the bill, their server told Shae Denise that she took the skillet cookie and the lemonade off of the tab. “Oh my God. That’s so sweet,” Shae Denise recalls saying. She thought the server was just being kind.

Then, the server attempted to forge a bond in the most awkward way. She tried to acknowledge how hard it can be to be a single mother.

“Wait, wait,” Shae Denise says to the camera and recaps what she tried to tell her server. “‘Ma’am, it’s not that. I wasn’t hungry. We just came here for a snack.'”

The waitress agreed, but in the way that lets Shae Denise know she wasn’t buying it but would play along in order to preserve personal dignity.

Meanwhile, Shae Denise’s mouth is hanging open. The bill’s total was $26. And she assured the server that she can afford the meal. “‘It’s OK, I understand, you don’t hafta…'” she quotes the server as saying to her.

“I have $26,” asserted Shae Denise, who now feels as if she has no choice but to pay the entire bill and leave a generous tip. “You think I don’t have $26, and I don’t like that at all.”

Missed Connection

Finally, Shae Denise left the payment and the tip on the table. And as she was walking to her vehicle, the server came racing out to give her back the money.

“I should be happy and grateful,” Shae Denise says to the camera before acknowledging that she doesn’t know whether to be offended or not.

Shae Denise has the comments turned off. Likely so she doesn’t have to deal with the entire internet explaining to her why, yes, she should be grateful. Because by the time she posted the video, she sorted out her feelings more clearly.

“It’s not the gesture that got me it’s more assuming that I’m a single mother because of me having an innocent moment with my daughter that I do all the time actually and that I can’t pay my tab,” she writes in the caption.

Then she says, “That coming from a woman not of color just kind of threw me off.”

Why Kindness Goes Sideways

It’s probably fair to say that the server was trying to do a solid for another woman. But while her intention was good, it is likely that she missed the social cues indicating Shae Denise could afford the snack.

“Kindness is more of a practice than a strategy,” reports Conflict Expert. But as such, it does require an assessment of appropriateness and a willingness to understand that a kind gesture might not be received that way. So it’s up to the giver to “reconsider what you are doing and how you are communicating it.” Because if your action isn’t welcome, then it’s not really kind.

Perhaps the best thing Shae Denise’s server could have done is comp the drink and dessert while resisting the urge to overshare her reasons for doing so. That way, her kindness might not’ve revealed a problematic assumption.

Southwest Airlines passengers who may need extra space are now expected to purchase an additional seat ahead of boarding.

However, some say that even after following the policy, they’re still running into issues at the gate.

TikTok creator Sal (@journeywithsal), who uses his platform to share his fitness journey, said he had a run-in with Southwest’s “customer of size” policy while boarding a Southwest Airlines flight.

In his video, which has gone viral with over 2 million views, he explains that a misunderstanding led to the flight being significantly delayed.

“So I caused the Southwest flight to be delayed one hour,” he begins.

Sal says he followed Southwest Airlines’ policy for passengers who need additional space and bought two seats.

“I bought two tickets, and the tickets were under Getaway,” he says, referring to the airline’s vacation bundle program.

He says the issue came down to seat selection. While booking through the program, he didn’t choose his seats.

“Well, they assigned seats in different rows,” he says. “And that caused the count to be off at the gate.”

Sal says the experience was uncomfortable.

“It was quite embarrassing on the plane,” he says. “I felt a lot of shame.”

According to him, the situation could have been handled better.

“Southwest didn’t handle it the best, but it’s not their fault,” he says. “They did the best they could.”

He adds that the experience will serve as motivation moving forward.

“It’s more so a call to me to continue losing weight, get better, so I don’t have to buy two seats in the future,” he concludes.

Commenters Don’t Think He Was Responsible For The Delay

Viewers in the comments section thought the responsibility still fell on Southwest Airlines to prevent this from happening.

“Not your fault,” one user wrote. “Thats a system’s fault.”

Others said that if two seats are purchased together, they shouldn’t be separated in the first place.

“Tickets purchased at the same time should automatically be assigned next to each other,” a viewer wrote. “This game of forcing us to pay more to ‘choose seats’ or suffer the consequences is absurd. This isn’t on you. This is corporate greed.”

“If they have a policy that requires ppl to purchase 2 seats, why the h— would those seats be in diff rows?” one user asked. “YOU did nothing wrong, southwest did! I used to fly mainly southwest now I wouldn’t dare unless that’s my only option…literally only option. Sorry you experienced that.”

What Might’ve Gone Wrong Here?

Due to a recent policy change, passengers who may need additional space on a flight are encouraged to purchase an extra seat ahead of time when booking through Southwest.

The way Southwest staff has implemented the policy has caused backlash among the plus-sized community, with some reporting that staff randomly select passengers they think should purchase a second seat during check-in or boarding.

In this case, Sal did purchase a second seat, but it’s possible he either didn’t follow or wasn’t able to follow Southwest’s guidelines when doing so.

Southwest has stated that to purchase an additional seat as a plus-sized passenger, you need to add the letters XS in the middle name field on the second ticket, using the same first and last name.

Since Getaways packages may also include a hotel stay and car rental, it’s possible they don’t offer the option to add an additional passenger just for the flight portion.

What may have happened is that Sal booked two separate seats, which registered in the system as two different passengers.

International traveler and content creator Liam Porter is drinking pond water every day until he pukes.

TikToker Porter (@liamporter65), who currently seems to be somewhere in Yosemite National Park, is on a mission—one with potentially deleterious side effects.

In a recent series of TikTok videos, the adventurer is documenting his pond water consumption. Filming like a budget Bear Grylls, Porter barks into the camera, “Day one, drinking pond water until I get giardia,” he says. Next, he bends down and scoops up a big blue cup full of water. Then he proceeds to guzzle it down, all while keeping one wild eye on his camera.

There’s no reason given in this video or any of the five subsequent posts he’s made. But considering his first video racked up 1.6 million views, that might be reason enough.

Biology & Parasites

But according to one user (posting on the day three video), a self-identified health professional admits, “as a healthcare worker, I’m urged to beg you to stop. However, as a microbiologist I’m fascinated.”

Consuming untreated water can expose you to things like cholera, dysentery, typhoid, and polio. These are diseases that have wiped out entire populations. Or, you could simply end up with diarrhea.

The unverified account of Massachusetts General Hospital also checked in, saying, “hey buddy.”

But perhaps the best comments goes to the verified Dudewipes account. “Dude, you’re gonna need us,” the account quipped.

What has followers of Porter’s antics concerned is that his final post was nearly a week ago. It was his “day six” video.

“Day 7 No Post Yet…” one ominously pointed out.

“Day 9 and still nothing. I hope he is ok,” another said.

“It appears the pond got bro,” a third quipped.

What’s Really Happening Here?

If Porter really is in Yosemite, then he’s not taking the huge risk that’s got dozens of users worried. Because much of the water there is managed and treated for potability. Nevertheless, according to Yosemite’s own information, he’s still playing with liquid fire.

That’s because that site notes that when collecting water from wild sites in the park, hikers should use some sort of filtration or chemical purification. Even so, source water from flowing water when possible. Don’t collect water downstream of human activity, campsites, or animal grazing areas. Plan to carry one liter of water per hour of hiking in warm weather, and plot out where reliable water sources are.

And, if for some reason you don’t have a portable water filter (like a survival straw) or purification tablets, boiling water is a good way to kill nasty things.

More Tips For Hiking The Backcounty

One thing to consider is camping a minimum of 100 feet from lakes and streams. Additionally, plan to dispose of any wastewater or human waste at least 100 feet from water (and away from camp).

Finally, always make sure you’re properly permitted and that you file your planned route with the rangers as well as someone back home.

Baylor ultimately received his commitment.

The Texas-native appeared in only two games in 2024 and took the year as a redshirt. Connor Hawkins really burst onto the scene as the starting kicker for the Bears last season.

He did not miss any of his 37 PATs and converted 18 of 22 field goals as a redshirt freshman in 2025.

Hawkins’ kick presents a stark contrast from Dec. 7, 2025. Jayden Fielding missed a 27-yard field goal that would’ve tied the Big Ten Championship game for the Buckeyes after he talked trash on the sideline.

Fans in Columbus saw enough from Hawkins on Saturday to grant him with his red stripe. They are finally able to move past the catastrophe against Indiana.

Pro wrestling fans everywhere are expressing their frustration at the WWE after the company inserted Pat McAfee into the WrestleMania 42 main event storyline between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton on Friday night.

During Friday’s episode of SmackDown, McAfee was revealed as the “mystery” man who had been speaking with Orton on the phone for weeks, telling him to attack Rhodes.

But fans are wondering why McAfee, who has been off WWE television for months and has no real ties to either Orton or Rhodes, was chosen for the role.

As it turns out, the decision reportedly goes above the heads of the WWE creative team.

TKO Group Executives Pushed For Pat McAfee’s WrestleMania 42 Involvement

Mike Johnson of Pro Wrestling Illustrated reports that WWE’s parent company, the TKO Group, was the one that wanted McAfee involved in the angle.

“The idea seems to be that including McAfee in the scenario gives ESPN a new promotional dimension for WrestleMania, given McAfee’s importance and popularity on their platform, giving the ESPN audience something additional leading into their first-ever WrestleMania broadcast,” Johnson stated.

On top of that, TKO Group CEO Ari Emmanuel acts at McAfee’s personal agent and reportedly believes he can be a star across multiple forms of media.

“A source indicates that Ari Emanuel believes Pat McAfee is a star and will help elevate the program between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes and get it to where it needs to be, between his show on ESPN and SmackDown episodes before WrestleMania,” Bodyslam.net reports.

Friday’s episode of SmackDown closed with Rhodes cutting a promo against McAfee that some in the wrestling industry was not initially planned.

“Sources indicate that Cody Rhodes was told from members of creative to go to the ring and shoot from the hip regarding Pat McAfee and TKO,” Bodyslam reports. “Rhodes and other members of creative have legitimate gripes with TKO for sticking their nose in storylines close to WrestleMania multiple years in a row.”

If all the reports are true, which is a big “if,” it appears that the WWE is in a significant state of array heading into its biggest event of year.

Louisiana Baseball Coach Charges At Opposing Dugout In Fit Of Rage Over Cowardly Heckling

Louisiana head coach Matt Deggs was ejected from the college baseball game against James Madison on Saturday. He charged at the opposing dugout in a fit of rage.

The Dukes would not stop chirping from behind the protective fence.

Although this kind of behavior should not be celebrated in college baseball, it is part of what makes the sport so much fun. Deggs deserves credit for standing on business when his opponent would not do so.

Louisiana had a player ejected against James Madison.

This incident took place during the top of the fourth inning. It started with a close play a first base.

Ragin’ Cajuns outfielder Maddox Mandino laid down a bunt to lead off the first at-bat of the inning. The first baseman was able to field the bunt with more than enough time to tag out the runner. He set up in the base path to secure his position ahead of Mandino’s arrival to the bag. Mandino ran directly at him.

The 5-foot-9, 175-pound junior tried to knock the ball loose from James Madison’s first baseman as he waited to apply the tag. His effort was not successful.

Upon further review, the umpires determined Mandino made malicious contact.

NCAA Rule 8-7 says: “The runner may not attempt to dislodge the ball from the fielder. Contact above the waist shall be judged by the umpire as an attempt by the runner to dislodge the ball.” The umpire ruled Mandino made an attempt to dislodge the ball. If “the contact is flagrant or malicious, the runner shall be declared out and also ejected from the contest.” Mandino was tossed accordingly.

The Dukes tried to take matters into their own hands before the ejection was announced. They did not allow the umpiring crew to handle the situation and started to chirp at Mandino for his behavior.

Head coach Matt Deggs went ballistic and charged at the dugout.

Louisiana-Lafayette (or whatever they want to be called these days) did not take kindly to James Madison’s remarks. Ragin’ Cajuns head coach Matt Deggs was especially furious with his opponent’s unwillingness to let things play out according to the rulebook.

He charged at the opposing dugout in a fit of rage.

The 54-year-old was fully prepared to throw hands with whomever wanted the smoke. None of them did.

The Dukes stayed behind their protective dugout fence at their coach’s direction to avoid any additional repercussions and/or ejections. Deggs kept coming. An umpire had to step in to keep him at a distance.

Less than 24 hours after a controversial postgame altercation with South Carolina’s Dawn Staley, UConn Huskies women’s basketball coaching legend Geno Auriemma has now issued a public apology.

Auriemma confronted Staley at midcourt after his team’s stunning 64-48 loss to the Gamecocks in the Final Four. UConn entered the game with a perfect 38-0 record and had beaten all but one team by double-digits prior to the loss to the Gamecocks.

During the game, Auriemma had expressed his frustration with the physicality of the South Carolina players as well as the way Staley was interacting with referees.

Afterward, he approached Staley and yelled in her direction, allegedly claiming that she did not shake hands with him at midcourt prior to the contest.

“I’m of integrity,” Staley said of the incident. “I’m of integrity, so if I did something wrong to Geno, I had no idea what I did. I guess he thought I didn’t shake his hand at the beginning of the game. I didn’t know. I went down there pre-game and shook everybody on his staff’s hand. I don’t know where he came from after the game. But hey, sometimes things get heated. We move on.”

Auriemma then confirmed that was the source of his frustration.

“The protocol is, before the game, you meet at halfcourt. Has anybody ever seen that before? The two coaches meet at halfcourt, and they shake hands… they announce it on the loudspeaker. I waited there for like three minutes,” he said.

But video from before the game showed otherwise, as Staley did approach Auriemma and shake his hand.

Now, Auriemma is backtracking.

Geno Auriemma Issues Public Apology To Dawn Staley

On Saturday afternoon, Auriemma came out and issued a public apology both to Staley and the South Carolina program as a whole.

“There’s no excuse for how I handled the end of the game vs. South Carolina,” Auriemma said. “It’s unlike what I do and what our standard is here at Connecticut. I want to apologize to the staff and the team at South Carolina. It was uncalled for how I reacted.

“The story should be how well South Carolina played, and I don’t want my actions to detract from that. I’ve had a great relationship with their staff, and I sincerely want to apologize to them.”

Staying at a hotel isn’t cheap.

In fact, the average rate for a hotel room in the United States is almost $200 per night. During busy seasons, that number increases to over $300.

Previously, these high costs came with a variety of complimentary amenities. Now, many enter their hotel room and discover a trove of goods and snacks. Later, they learn that these items come with a significant price tag. In some cases, even moving the items in the room can result in a charge.

A user on TikTok recently called out this practice after observing something strange in his hotel room. Viewers aren’t too happy about it.

What’s Wrong With This Hotel?

In a video with over 89,000 views, TikTok user Jaden Warren (@jadenllc) explains that he and his wife are currently staying at the Thompson San Antonio–Riverwalk by Hyatt.

Upon entering the room, they noticed a variety of bath accessories resting upon the counter.

“We were super excited about all these amenities they have,” he starts. “They were offering a shower steamer, a bubble mask and eye mask, a second scent of shower steamer.”

However, when he looked more closely at the amenities, he noticed that a mini-bar menu was tucked behind them. Inside the mini-bar menu was a price list for all these items.

“Now, this is misleading for a few reasons,” Warren starts. “First, a lot of hotels just include amenities like this to begin with, so you wouldn’t expect these to be charged. Second, the rest of the mini bar is in a different room, and that one has other random accessories like phone chargers, so you would expect that the entirety of the mini bar is in a single location.”

“Third, the mini bar menu is covered up by one of the shower steamers, so you don’t notice that the items might possibly be part of the mini bar unless you move that item on the left,” he continues. “If you were to just grab from the items on the right, you would use one without knowing it was charged.”

A ‘Dark Pattern’ Emerges

This practice is what Warren calls the “dark pattern of hidden fees.”

“Something has a deceptively low entry price, but then you’re unwittingly hit with additional fees or costs that you weren’t aware of once you’re deeper into the transaction process,” he says.

“In this case, a user could very easily and unwittingly use some of these bath products without knowing that they were chargeable and extremely marked up,” he continues. “This fits into the broader pattern of business behavior known as ‘dark patterns,’ where businesses try to extract additional revenue from customers by misleading them or tricking them into spending money they didn’t intend to.”

Is This True?

Whether Thompson Hotels was knowingly engaging in a “dark pattern” cannot be confirmed. However, the phenomenon Warren describes is real. And this Thompson hotel room is a good example of it.

The term “dark pattern” is a bit nebulous. The Federal Trade Commission defines the phrase generally as “manipulative design practices” used to “get consumers to part with their money or data.” It would seem that this hotel room meets this standard.

Warren isn’t alone in complaining about it, either. The Thompson Hotels website notes that a “full minibar, 2 robes, L’AVANT Hand soap and Lotion, D.S. & Durga shower amenities” are all available for purchase in the room. Still, several visitors have complained about the practice.

For example, one guest on Reddit stated that “the whole room felt like an upsell, with various things you can buy sprinkled around the room.” Others claimed that they were charged for minibar items they did not use.

It’s Becoming More Common

In an Instagram direct message exchange, Warren told BroBible he did not use any of the products and was thus not charged. However, he noted that practices like these are, in his view, becoming more common.

“I’ve definitely noticed an expansion of ‘micro charges’ at hotels. Little things like resort fees chargeable at the hotel increasing the total room costs, absurd rates for overnight parking ($60+ at both hotels I stayed this weekend), or experience credit not covering taxes or tips at certain places can add uncertainty to your final bill,” he wrote.

Why are businesses adding these small fees instead of simply increasing the price? The reason, Warren says, is partly psychological.

“If you see the full cost of the stay up front, it’s harder to swallow,” he explained. “It’s the same reason concert ticket companies used to hide fees until the final checkout screen. That helps explain the ‘guaranteed costs’ like resort fees tacked on regardless of the stay, and ‘highly likely’ fees like parking.”

“Stratification of experience helps explain the optional costs,” he continued. “By offering so many add-ons, companies can offer a premium experience to those that want it, while giving a more affordable experience to those that don’t. Think of it like airline fees; they’re annoying, but give more affordable transit to those that don’t need checked bags, seat select, etc. Add-on pricing needs to be transparent, though. Hiding a menu behind the toiletries isn’t the right way to do it!”

Commenters Hate It

In the comments section, users expressed their distaste for this practice.

“Having the menu behind everything seems wildly unethical. I’m sure they’re way more expensive than they should be,” said a commenter. “Every single part of our lives is trying to extract everything possible from us and it’s exhausting.”

“I travel almost weekly for work and frequently for personal travel. I would have absolutely assumed the bath products were free,” stated another.

Others shared their own stories from hotels with similar policies.

“We stayed at the Lennox Hotel in Miami. There was a hotel branded ball cap on a shelf. We moved the hat to use the shelf. We were charged $30 for moving the hat and they refused to remove the charge when we called to ask. They said it was ‘clearly printed on the room menu.’ It wasn’t,” wrote a user. “I liked my stay there but would never go back for that reason alone.”

“I stayed at a Marriott in SF last week,” shared a second. “They are now charging for the coffee pods in the room.”

The Major League Baseball reporter is now committed to her new pet for life.

This hilarious mixup was the MLB skipper’s way of getting back at the sideline reporter for a viral interview last season. Little did Murphy know, he was committing Whitaker to tortoise parenthood.

This hilarious exchanging of gifts stems from an interview back in August. Whitaker spoke with Murphy about what he likes to eat in the dugouts over the course of nine innings.

The Milwaukee Brewers manager revealed that he keeps a variety of different food items in his pockets to munch on during games. “Whatever fits,” said the third-year skipper.

On that specific day, it was pancakes. Pat Murphy pulled a flapjack out of his jacket — sans packaging or even a paper towel wrap — and took a bite. He offered the same to Tricia Whitaker. She gladly obliged.

The moment went extremely viral on social media. Some people thought it was gross. Others didn’t care.

It became such a polarizing topic that Murphy’s fairly disgusting eating habits became a major topic of conversation across MLB throughout the month of August. Whatever keeps you fed, I guess!

TSA does not allow its passengers to fly with reptiles so the turtle (that isn’t a turtle) will stay with the team for now. But don’t get it twisted. The (turtle that isn’t a turtle) belongs to Tricia Whitaker!

American Airlines has a strict no reptiles policy and Whitaker is going home for the Final Four so she left ‘Bobby’ with the Brewers in Kansas City. He is already getting acclimated to the clubhouse.

She came to the following agreement with the players:

“They will keep the tortoise for now. It was suggested by one player that they get to keep the “rally turtle” if they win today. If they lose, I am hoping, consideration will be given to send me the tortoise.

Here is how the entire thing came together during pregame:

Pat decided literally yesterday on his way to the game that this was going to happen.

He and some of the players were mulling over what animal he should pull out of his pocket.

A couple people suggested a gerbil or hamster, but he decided on a turtle.

So he paid the KC clubbie $500 to go buy him a turtle and bring it to the stadium.

After the cancelled game, the players were with it in the clubhouse, feeding it all sorts of vegetables.

Except it isn’t a turtle. So what is it really?

Upon further review, the “turtle” is actually a Sulcata tortoise— also known as the African spurred tortoise. That is a much different commitment than initially thought.

A Sulcata tortoise is the largest mainland species of tortoise in Africa and the third-largest in the world. Its high-fiber, low-protein diet consists mostly of grasses, plants and hay.

Sulcata tortoises typically grow to an average size of 24–30 inches in shell length. They can weigh between 70–110 pounds as adults. Males can get up to 200 pounds or greater. They typically live somewhere between 70 and 80 years in captivity.

Outrageous Gas Prices Cause Immediate Panic As NASCAR Teams Struggle To Balance Their Budgets

As gas prices continue to rise, NASCAR teams like Kaulig Racing are struggling to afford the cost. They are forced to cut back on a number of standard operating procedures to balance their budgets.

Money is tighter than ever, even on the racetrack!

Many NASCAR teams may have to adjust their race schedule for the rest of the season if fuel costs stay the same or keep going up. The panic is starting to set in.

Gas prices are way up.

The average price of gasoline in the United States rose to $4.10 per gallon this week. According to AAA data, that marks a 12-cent increase from the week prior. Some states and cities, like Los Angeles, are much higher. Others states and cities, like rural Ohio, are slightly lower— but not by much.

Gas prices have skyrocketed since the initial US-Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. They are up more than 35% in just 35 days. Not great!

The massive hike in price is largely rooted in the shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz. The crucial waterway accounts for approximately 20% of the world’s oil transit. It also stems from a slowdown in oil production in the Middle East. These two factors combine for a disastrous outcome.

Crude oil prices continue to rise. Crude oil is refined to make diesel, gasoline and jet fuel. If the cost of crude oil is up, the cost of diesel and gas will follow.

Seasonal demand also contributes to the increase. Warmer weather and travel for spring break leads to higher gasoline consumption. Gas usually costs a few cents more in the spring and summer. This year is especially high because of the geopolitical climate.

California has the highest average price of gasoline in the United States at nearly $6 per gallon. Oklahoma has the least expensive average price at ~$3.30.

The White House issued a statement earlier this week, urging consumers to be patient.

“When Operation Epic Fury is complete, gas prices will plummet back to the multi-year lows American drivers enjoyed before these short-term disruptions. President Trump remains committed to fully unleashing American energy dominance, lowering costs, and putting more money back in the pockets of hardworking American families.”

We’ll see. Only time will tell whether that is true!

NASCAR is struggling with the cost of fuel.

Racing teams set their budget for the new season at the beginning of February, which directly correlates to the amount of travel and the schedule. That was before the strikes on Iran. They did not account for the sudden 35% increase in gas prices. It has already been crippling and will only continue to get worse.

Chase Rice, the president of Kaulig Racing, revealed the impact on his Truck Series team during a conversation with The Morning Drive on SiriusXM. He has had to reevaluate the entire operation.

“’ll tell you an inside story of us. Back in January… we spent a lot of money in fuel running parts here and there, doing this and that. Now we actually have a group text, it’s called the ‘traveling group text’ for Kaulig Racing where we plan our trips accordingly.

If we can wait a day and pick up more stuff in a day, we’ll do that. I was talking to our truck (hauler) drivers and saying, ‘Hey, watch fuel prices to make sure that, since we’re only going to Rockingham, do we need to fill it all the way up?’”

Fortunately for Kaulig, most of the races thus far have been at tracks nearby to its base camp— like Darlington, Rockingham, Bristol and Martinsville. Other teams are forced to travel even further. That obviously requires additional spending. Gas prices will impact how far they can go and how often.

““Will the fuel prices come down? We keep our eyes on that. We look for ways that we can find locations that sell it a little bit cheaper. Every dollar matters with us and in the Truck Series. So this is all costing us a bit more than anticipated… The fuel prices have really put a huge hit into our budget. It is what it is.”

Should the cost of gas not come down soon, we could start to see teams start to pull out of races all together. We are not to that point yet but the season does not end until November so the cost will only continue to add up.

There’s no denying that Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball coach Nate Oats is one of the top coaches in the country. Oats excelled at Buffalo before coming to Tuscaloosa in 2019 and turning the Tide into a perennial contender, including taking them to their first Final Four in program history in 2024.

But it’s also safe to say that Oats has had his fair share of controversy since coming to Alabama.

In 2023, Oats came under fire for his handling of star player Brandon Miller, who was implicated for transporting a gun used in the murder of Jamea Harris by teammate Darius Miles.

Miles was immediately kicked off the team, but Oats stated that Miller was simply in the “wrong spot at the wrong time.”

The following year, he was forced to apologize for shoving Missouri player Aidan Shaw.

This season, Oats came under fire yet again on multiple occasions, first involving the eligibility saga of former Bama player Charles Bediako, who attempted to return to the Crimson Tide after playing in the NBA G League, then for the arrest of star guard Aden Holloway on marijuana possession charges.

Which is all to say, where Oats goes, controversy seems to follow. And he may have just created another one.

In 2023, Oats and his now ex-wife, Crystal, with whom he shares three children, got a divorce. On Friday, in an interview with Sirius XM, he revealed that he has since gotten engaged.

Of course, that’s completely fine. Oats is an adult, and he’s allowed to move forward with his life. But it’s who Oats is engaged to that drew attention from fans.

Accetta left the program in 2022 and currently works for the Dallas Mavericks

Now, listen, does that inherently mean that Oats and Accetta were dating while he was her boss, or that he an ulterior motive when promoting her? Of course not.

But it certainly doesn’t look great!

Few big-name actors have suffered a fall from grace that was quite as quick as the one suffered by former Lovecraft Country and Marvel Cinematic Universe star Jonathan Majors.

Majors, who was both accused and convicted of domestic abuse, lost all of his major roles in the aftermath and has since resorted to making movies for Ben Shapiro and The Daily Wire.

Majors is starring in a still unrevealed movie being produced by Shapiro and Dallas Sonnier for The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend, respectively. And filming isn’t exactly going smoothly thus far.

The incident was captured on video obtained by Deadline.

Multiple sources confirm to Deadline that the accident occurred after the window was replaced with an unsecured sheet of tempered glass to be purposefully shattered in a later stunt that did not involve any actors.

Jonathan Majors Falls Out Window And Tumbles To Ground While Filming New Movie

In a video uncovered by Deadline, Majors was seen falling out a window on set due to an unsecured sheet of tempered glass.

Deadline further reports that the glass was meant to be purposefully shattered in a later stunt that did not involve any actors.

However, the glass was only sitting loosely in the window, and when both Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne went tumbling through the window and about six feet below to the ground. Kilcoyne reportedly required stitches “all over his hands” after the incident.

Deadline then reached out to the movie’s producers to ask about the incident as well as allegations of an unsafe work environment, but was told that the producers “don’t negotiate with communists”.

An anonymous crew member working on the movie told Deadline that, “When I got there, nobody mentioned anything about people falling out the window…It seemed weird to me.”

As of now, nothing seems to have changed regarding plans to produce the movie. But it’s clear that Majors’ career has taken quite the turn from working for the biggest studios and best producers in Hollywood.

There’s always the chance that kids will bring weird and wonderful things with them to school. But by bringing in what appeared to be a strawberry daiquiri, a New Orleans woman’s son took things to another level.

In the viral clip, TikToker Sunny Veal (@sunny_kodax) tells viewers that she got a call from the school, during which the teacher said that her son was walking around saying he was drinking a strawberry daiquiris, which is a type of cocktail.

The TikToker then shows viewers a frozen pouch and points to the label that reads, “strawberry daiquiris.”

“He brought this pouch to school,” she says. “Teacher says, ‘Show me the pouch.” It f—— says ‘Margaritaville’ on it.'” As well as being a drinks brand, Margaritaville is a sprawling business empire that is also known for its restaurants and cruise ships.

“Ya’ll, why the lady thought he was bringing freeze-dried alcohol to school in a packet?” she adds. “This is just a drink packet.”

She then explains that she had to send a picture of the whole box to confirm it was non-alcoholic.

Veal then takes the opportunity to discuss the product—a multipack of non-alcoholic drink sachets—at length, noting how its sugar-free, comes in four flavors, and has even bought two boxes herself. She then encourages viewers to click below to purchase the product.

The clip has garnered a huge 29 million views.

What Did Commenters Think?

Some commenters were on the teacher’s side, with one writing that “a teacher has every right to question that,” especially because “Margaritaville does alcohol drinks also.”

“I would’ve called you too!” a second added. “I’m still concerned.” Meanwhile, a third posited, “I think she knew it wasn’t alcohol but she’s a mandated reporter and needed you to confirm for sure.”

Others were more intrigued by the idea of frozen alcohol. A fourth asked, “How tf you freeze dry alcohol?” A fifth added: “Okay, but why is freeze dried alcohol packets not a thing?” And a sixth chimed in “Freeze dried alcohol is insane alcohol don’t even freeze.”

Does Alcohol Freeze?

As reported by HowStuffWorks, it is technically possible to freeze alcohol. But it doesn’t freeze in the same way as other liquids.

The temperature in which alcohol freezes depends on something called the spirit’s proof, which is essentially the concentration of the drink. This is usually double the alcohol’s percentage.

So, for example, if a wine’s concentration level is 12%, this makes it 24 proof. A general rule is that the higher the proof, the lower the freezing point, meaning that alcohols with higher proofs are more difficult to freeze.

Is The Video An Ad?

Several commenters also questioned whether the video was actually an ad. “Nobody noticing this is an ad is frying me,” another wrote. “Can’t tell if this is a storytime or an ad,” an eighth said. While a ninth asked, “All that was an ad?”

Veal herself confirmed it was an ad several times in her replies to commenters accusing her of running an undisclosed ad. It’s also worth noting that the TikTok includes a label that reads, “Commission paid.” This confirms that the video is in fact an advertisement—but honestly, the second of half of the video already made that pretty clear.

The college baseball world has eyes on Los Angeles.

Even though college baseball is not as big of a deal on the west coast as it is in the southeast, some of the top-ranked teams in the country are original members of the Pacific Coast Conference. Oregon State is ranked No. 9. Oregon is ranked No. 15. Arizona State is ranked No. 25. You get the idea.

USC and UCLA are ranked No. 12 and No. 1, respectively. They are playing the most important series of the weekend. Tickets cost as much as $150 just to get in the door. I have never seen Jackie Robinson Stadium as packed as it was for the first of three games on Friday.

Who is Illinois basketball star David Mirkovic?

As a native of Montenegro, the 20-year-old moved to the United States in the summer of 2025 to enroll at the University of Illinois. He joined the Fighting Illini after a brief stint with SC Derby of the Priva A Liga.

His freshman season of college hoops has been an overwhelming success thus far.

Not only is David Mirkovic averaging 13.5 points on 48.7% shooting, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, he dropped 29 points with 17 boards during a dominant performance in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament and Illinois is in the Final Four. You cannot ask for much better!

The best part about David Mirkovic is that he can actually hoop. Not only does he provide the soundbites, Illinois would not be where it is without him.

Baseball is the hardest sport in the world.

All of this goes to say that Mirkovic is a man of many talents. Baseball is not one of them.

Sports like water polo, soccer and basketball are the most popular sports in Montenegro. A very small, niche presence exists for baseball in the Balkans but a professional league does not exist and you would be hard pressed to find someone with any substantial knowledge of America’s favorite pastime.

A national team briefly existed within the Serbia-Montenegro framework after the breakup of Yugoslovia but it was disbanded in the year David Mirkovic was born. Baseball isn’t a thing over there.

As a result, Illinois’ superstar freshman had never swung a bat until the Final Four. He took a few hacks during the Fan Fest on Friday from both sides of the plate. It did not come naturally.

Florida Baseball Pitcher Sends Ole Miss Head Coach Into A Fit Of Rage With Trash Talk

Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco did not appreciate the behavior of Florida pitcher Aidan King during the second of three college baseball games in Gainesville. However, one of his players started it.

No love was lost!

There are two sides to this situation. Some people, myself included, believe college baseball is more fun when there is a heavy dose of personality. Others would like to see it remain classy.

Mike Bianco was not happy with Florida pitcher Aidan King.

This outburst took place during the top of the seventh inning. Bianco left the dugout to unleash his fury.

For context, these are two college baseball programs on opposite ends of the SEC standings.

Florida is currently ranked No. 21 in the country at 24-8 and fifth in the conference at 7-4. Ole Miss is currently unranked at 21-11 and fourth-from-last in the conference at 4-7. While that may not seem like a big gap, in the most competitive conferences, it is. The Gators are virtually guaranteed to make the postseason, barring catastrophic collapse, while the Rebels need to start stacking wins to even have a chance of playing in a Regional.

Thus, it was a big deal for Ole Miss to defeat Florida in Florida on Friday. That led to heightened tensions on Saturday.

The Gators held a 2-0 lead in the seventh inning that they did not give back. Starting pitcher Aidan King recorded his season-high seventh strikeout to finish the top half of the frame.

As soon as strike three was called at the plate, he turned and gestured toward the visitor’s dugout— which is a behavior that is not typically allowed to go unchecked. But it did. The umpiring crew turned a blind eye to the antics.

That set Mike Bianco into a fit of rage.

Needless to say, the Rebels’ skipper did not appreciate King’s antics.

Ole Miss started the college baseball decorum debate!

What Bianco might not’ve realized is that King only reacted to his seventh strikeout in the manner that he did because of how Ole Miss acted toward him. The sophomore pitcher got Rebels outfielder Tristan Bissetta looking on a check swing strikeout in the sixth inning.

Bissetta looked at the mound and expressed his frustration with a very specific choice of words. The first word rhymes with “truck.” The second word is “you.” Read his lips:

I’m not sure Mike Bianco realized what his player said during the inning prior. He was upset with King for his gesture toward the visitor’s dugout but he was not aware of Bissetta’s language.

This is where we find the debate.

If Bianco knew what Bissetta said, would he react the same way?
Was he right to be upset with King?
- Did King go too far with his strikeout celebration?
  - Where is the line? Was it crossed?

I am of the opinion that college baseball should be played loud. I have no issue with King or Bissetta. Let them talk! Let them play!

However, none of this would’ve been an issue in the first place if Ole Miss simply put a bat on the ball. Perhaps Bianco should focus more on winning than how an opposing pitcher acts in victory.

“Bev cart girls,” or golf cart beverage attendants who are most often women, are popular on social media for sharing glimpses of what it’s like on the job, often taking viewers along as they ride their cart.

However, some have also exposed a side of the job that isn’t talked about as much: the inappropriate behavior and harassment they sometimes deal with from customers.

One cart girl in Nevada, for example, said a man commented on her weight, telling her she had a “flat tire.” Another said the “creepy” behavior she experiences most often comes from older men, or what she calls “dads.”

Other “cart girls” speaking to Business Insider also said they routinely deal with men who get “handsy” or those who make inappropriate comments about their bodies.

Recently, one woman shared a story from her time working as a cart girl that left viewers extremely uncomfortable.

TikTok creator Ari Uribes (@ari.uribes) posted an old story from her bev cart days. The video has gotten over 548,900 views.

“I’ve been missing bev cart so much lately that i forgot how quick s— gets weird (this is a draft),” she wrote in the video’s caption.

What Did The Customer Say To Her?

“So this guy asked me for a hug, right?” she says. “I tell him, ‘No.’ I say, ‘No. Why would I hug you?’”

The weather discouraged her further. “’Also, it’s like 100 degrees out. You’re sweaty and gross,’” she recalls telling him.

According to Uribes, the man didn’t take that well.

“He’s like, ‘That’s kind of mean, don’t you think?’” she says.

She says she stood by her response. “I’m like, ‘It’s not mean. It’s just—that’s gross,’” she says she explained.

He then dropped an inappropriate comment.

“And he’s like, ‘So I’m gonna ask you a question…’” she recalls, before recounting the explicit comment he made.

“When your boyfriend’s f—— you, his sweat doesn’t ever drip on your face?” she says the man asked him.

He reportedly stared at her afterward. “He’s just looking at me [with] an eyebrow raised.”

“Why do men…” she concludes.

Viewers Call His Behavior Out

In the comments, many viewers were disturbed by the interaction, though some questioned whether it even happened.

“Things that never happened,” one person wrote.

Others pushed back on that reaction. “I’m sorry you had to go through that girl, don’t let the creeps in the comments get to you,” another said.

“I don’t miss this part of the job,” a third added.

A fourth said they would have stepped in if they witnessed it. “If I heard that from a playing partner I would make him apologize to you immediately. I’m sorry that interaction happened to you..” another wrote.

Some viewers were so disturbed by the interaction that they encouraged her to escalate the matter. “Call the cops,” one said.

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have been an iconic and beloved squad for decades, recently gaining worldwide notoriety after being featured in a Netflix documentary.

While fan admiration comes with the territory, there’s a line. One husband of a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader says he ran into a fan who crossed it.

TikTok creator John (@johnmichael.daniel), whose video has gotten over 2.2 million views, shared what he calls “one of the creepiest things” that’s ever happened to him at a game.

What Did The ‘Creepy’ Man Do?

“Creeper showed me his photo album of my wife,” John wrote in the video’s text overlay.

“My wife is a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, and this is probably one of the creepiest things that’s ever happened to me at a game,” he says.

He explains that he was in the stands talking about his wife, Tori, when an “old man” nearby struck up a conversation.

“Are you here for Tori, too?” the man asks, to which John responded, “Yeah.”

“He’s like, ‘Yeah, man. She’s my favorite,’” the man reportedly said.

When John told the man that Tori is actually his wife, the fan reacted with excitement. “Dude, no way… she’s gorgeous. Congrats,” he recalls the man saying.

Then He Pulled Out His Phone

The man then reportedly offers to show him something.

“He’s like, I actually got so many photos of Tori. Do you wanna see?” John says.

Out of curiosity, he agreed. “He then proceeded to show me an entire album he had in his phone labeled Tori with hundreds of zoomed-in shots of just her,” he says.

Some of the images, he adds, didn’t even include her face.

“If that gives you an idea of what these kind of photos were,” he says.

As the man scrolls, John says he kept reacting to the photos and zooming in.

“He’s going, ‘That one’s good. … That one’s good,’” he recalls. “I was like, ‘All right, man. This is weird.’”

He Says The Fan Offered To Send The Photos

“He then proceeds to ask me, ‘Do you want me to send you these?’” he says.

John says he immediately declined. “Brother, that’s my wife in your phone,” he remembers thinking.

He adds that he had only agreed to look out of curiosity.

“I was just curious what kind of photos you had in your phone,” he says.

Afterward, a friend asked him if this kind of thing happens often.

This has never even remotely happened to me at a game,” he says.

He ends the video with a message to the fan.

“If you’re that old man that showed me an entire album… please don’t show that to anybody else,” he says. “Especially anyone related to any of those girls.”

Viewers Say He Should Have Reacted Differently

In the comments, many viewers felt the situation called for a stronger response.

“And you didn’t defend her at all?” one person wrote.

“You’re under reacting I feel,” another added.

Some focused on the man’s behavior. “A labeled photo album is veryyyy creepy,” a third wrote.

Inappropriate Behavior In The Cheerleading World

Inappropriate behavior and even sexual harassment has been a recurring issue for cheerleaders.

Speaking to the Chicago Sun-Times, one former Northwestern University cheerleader reported being “groped, assaulted, and subjected to incessant sexual comments” during her time on the squad.

When she spoke up, the university allegedly denied any wrongdoing.

The Dallas Cowboys have also faced scrutiny, though not involving fans. In 2022, the team reportedly paid $2.4 million to four cheerleaders who accused a team executive of voyeurism in their locker room in 2015.

These concerns may have impacted how the squad handles interactions with fans. As shown in the documentary, fans are given a football to hold during photos with cheerleaders so there’s no physical contact.

Actress Blake Lively was dealt a devastating blow in her legal battle against It Ends with Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni. Earlier this week, the presiding judge threw out 10 of her 13 claims against Baldoni.

On Thursday, in a 152-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed 10 of Blake Lively’s 13 claims against Justin Baldoni, including the more serious allegations of sexual harassment, defamation, and conspiracy. Three claims will proceed to trial on May 18: breach of contract, retaliation, and aiding and abetting in retaliation.

Making matters worse for Lively, not only is she seemingly losing the legal battle, but she’s also at risk of losing in the court of public opinion, as well, as a Hollywood expert has said this ordeal could effectively tank her career.

Speaking to Page Six, brand experts say the ruling against Lively could cause reputational damage regardless of trial outcome, potentially limiting her access to major roles and endorsements.

“It does look like a challenging path lies ahead for Blake Lively,. There is a real risk she could start to feel pushed out of the industry and struggle to secure major roles or brand deals going forward,” explained brand specialist Kayley Cornelius. “The film industry is now incredibly fast-moving and competitive, and it often feels like a revolving door. As one star’s momentum dips, there’s now a whole new wave of new talent ready to take their place.”

“Studios are looking for the best talent to capture broader audiences at a time when the public is more reactive than ever. With the impact of cancel culture and increased scrutiny, there is less appetite to take risks on talent who may be seen as controversial or commercially uncertain. That means even legacy names such as Blake are no longer untouchable and guaranteed the security they once had. So it’s entirely possible that Blake could face tougher competition for upcoming roles, with studios potentially favoring newer talent.”

The trial is scheduled to begin May 18 in New York, with pop star Taylor Swift — who exchanged texts with Lively about Baldoni that were unsealed earlier this year — being among those who could be subpoenaed to testify.

While you might think you have everything ready for your upcoming journey, there are many easy-to-forget aspects of travel. For example, do you have the right power adapters or phone chargers for where you’re going? Does your destination require a visa? Have you actually booked a hotel?

Many of these problems are expected. However, some can surprise you—and if you’re not careful, your travels can come to a premature end.

One man learned this the hard way after he attempted to go to Canada. The problem? His passport.

What’s Wrong With This Man’s Passport?

In a video posted to both Facebook and Instagram, musician Jarrod Morris records a recent interaction he had with an American Airlines worker. The worker is manipulating his passport.

“So because it’s mutilated, we can’t let you travel to Canada like this,” the worker starts. “Canada doesn’t play. You’ll get a fine for this.”

While Morris appears to question the worker, he shows that the book is, in fact, in a sorry state. The pages are worn, and the cover is peeling significantly.

“You have to get a new passport,” the worker states.

This appears to bother Morris.

“What do you mean mutilated? That seems like a pretty extreme word,” Morris counters.

“What would you say, what this is?” the worker responds. “Give me another word. I can say another word if another word makes you feel better.”

In a comment on his Facebook page, Morris insists he has no ill will toward the worker.

“Thought this was funny. Nobody be weird towards this guy or American Airlines. 1st world problems,” he wrote, noting that he and the worker “stood in silence for a solid 30 count at the end of the convo.”

What Is A ‘Mutilated’ Passport?

While Morris and some in the comments section may think that “mutilated” is an extreme description, there may be a reason that the worker used such language.

On several U.S. government pages, the term “mutilated” is used to describe a passport that has damages beyond normal wear-and-tear. Examples of such damages include water damage, missing visa pages, or a significant tear.

Given that Morris’ passport was peeling apart, it would likely meet the standard of “mutilated.”

Under these circumstances, the U.S. government states that one must get a new passport.

Whether one will be able to travel with a damaged passport in the meantime is uncertain. While some airline workers and passport control officers will let a damaged passport slide, others will not. Consequently, it’s advised that one renew their passport if damages exceed normal wear and tear.

Commenters Support The Worker

In the comments section, many users maintained Morris’ sense of humor about the situation while noting that the worker was correct to assert that the passport was invalid for travel.

“The agent isn’t wrong. There are specific guidelines for pass ports,” wrote a user. “Go and schedule that renewal appt cowboy lol.”

“If you got stuck at the border, in either direction (going over or coming back), it would be ‘why didn’t anybody tell me before I got up here?’” noted another. “He’s looking out for your best interests.”

“True story. A good friend was denied entry into Dubai because of a smudge on her passport. So yeah they’ll deny entry due to damage to passport,” noted a third.

A new documentary about the chaotic development and release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 — the 44th highest-selling video game of all-time with $26.5 million in sales, ahead of even Grand Theft Auto IV and Marvel’s Spider-Man — has revealed the type of project that legendary director Steven Spielberg pitched based on the iconic IP.

According to the documentarian, video game journalist Cade Onder, legendary director Steven Spielberg — the filmmaker behind iconic movies such as Jurassic Park, E.T., Indiana Jones, Jaws, Saving Private Ryan, and more — was such a longtime fan of the Call of Duty series that he came to Infinity Ward’s offices during Modern Warfare 3‘s development to get an early glimpse of the game’s New York level.

“Steven is awesome. We met with him several times. I remember one time Steven coming over playing the mission we showed at E3 — and it is a very Spielberg mission,” explained Robert Bowling, former Creative Strategist from Infinity Ward.

“It’s a mission where you start off in the subs and you go to the boats and then you fight your way into the ship. You have the two keys, you put them in, it launches the missiles, and then you got to get in the buoys and you’re doing a running chase scene as the missiles are coming down, destroying the ships that you were just on. It’s the escape from the Battle of New York,” he continued.

“I remember he came over and the first time we showed him that — this is before release, obviously — and he was just talking about, he’s like, ‘Oh, I love the way that you guys tell story through action.’ And I was like, ‘No, we’re just doing what you do.’ Like, this is a self-compliment. You’re telling us you love that we do it how you do it. When we moved into the modern era with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, there was a lot of interest — it seemed — for Steven to want to sort of understand how to tell that story. On my side there was a lot of hope that Steven would want to make a Call of Duty movie. That was my dream — can his art influence our art and then go back again. But it never did. We never got a Steven Spielberg Call of Duty, which would have been awesome.”

The acclaimed Schindler’s List auteur was so enamored with Call of Duty, in fact, that he even made a pitch to Activision to make a movie based on the Modern Warfare era. As those with knowledge of the pitch at the time tell it, it would have been set in the modern day — more akin to Black Hawk Down than Saving Private Ryan.

“And it is true, right? You pull inspiration all the time. Generation Kill on HBO — how phenomenal was that? This partnership that was developing between Hollywood and interactive entertainment was really powerful. You can’t think of many more compliments than saying that Spielberg thought you delivered something creatively exceptional. That’s something you don’t forget,” added Michael Condrey, a co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, one of the main studios that works on Call of Duty.

“It was one of the best compliments I could ever get. Because we talk about environmental storytelling all the time,” concurred his partner and co-founder Glen Schofield.

What’s a normal amount to tip? For most people, the answer is “it depends.”

Despite this, it seems that tipping requests have become pretty standard, no matter where you go. While it used to be normal to only see a suggested 20 to 30 percent tip at a restaurant, it now seems like every business is getting comfortable flipping the iPad around to ask for something extra.

Internet users have documented some of the most egregious examples of this. For instance, one user showed a tip prompt at an airport self-checkout. Another showed a request for tips at a public water fountain.

Now, a user on TikTok is dividing viewers after saying he was prompted for a 24% tip at a bar. Is this normal?

Is It Normal To Tip 24% At A Bar?

In a video with over 60,000 views, TikTok user Aidan Chapman (@thatsexyguyontiktok) says he was recently at a bar. While he was there, he ordered a beer, which the bartender “cracked” open and handed to him.

Soon after, he offered Chapman the payment machine. It was at this point that the TikToker noticed a problem.

“He put 24% on the thing already and handed it to me,” Chapman recalls. “And I put zero. ‘Cause I’m like, ‘You just cracked a beer and you put 24%? Trying to take advantage of me? No.”

Despite not tipping, Chapman says the worker told him, “Thanks, brother. You’re the best.”

Seeing if this apparent passive aggression was consistently applied, Chapman had his friends also order drinks and not tip. They, too, received a “thanks, brother, you’re the best.”

“Then later on, I think he caught on. We were all laughing at him, so he got us shots for free,” Chapman states.

“Moral of the story is, tip zero percent so then the bartender, who’s already having a terrible day, gets passive-aggressive towards you, does it multiple times, realizes he chose this job, and then feels sorry for you and gives you free shots,” the TikToker concludes.

How Much Are You Supposed To Tip Your Bartender?

While many in the comments accused Chapman of lying or “ragebaiting,” a discussion also emerged about the appropriate amount to tip a bartender.

Some say that, like a restaurant, tipping around 20% is expected at a bar. However, others counter that in situations like the one described in the video, where the bartender is simply opening a beer, it’s fine to tip minimally or not at all. So, who is correct?

The answer, like many discussions on the internet, is “it depends who you ask.”

In a discussion on Reddit, many users agreed that it made sense to tip more for a cocktail than a simple beer or glass of wine. For dive bars or low-to-mid range bars, this equated to a $1 tip per beer or wine, and a $2 for cocktails, if one is paying by the drink.

At higher-end establishments, or in situations where one is paying a bill at the end of the night, experts advise a simple, flat 20% tip, no matter what you ordered.

Still, it should be noted that the amount one tips is optional. If a customer feels is appropriate to tip more after ordering complicated drinks, or less if they simply ordered a bucket of beers, that is entirely their decision.

Commenters Insist On Tipping

In the comments section, users offered their thoughts on tipping. Many said that they insist on tipping no matter what, though some agreed that a standard 24% was too high.

“Bartender will never get more than a dollar for getting me a beer,” wrote a user.

“It’s $1 a drink, if you can’t do that then stay home,” agreed another.

That said, some railed against the idea of tipping altogether.

“The amount of people defending the bartender is WILD. His employer should pay him enough money not the customers,” declared a user. “The more you tip the more these owners get away with not paying a livable wage.”

There’s no joy quite like boarding an airplane and seeing that you have the entire row to yourself.

At a time when legroom is getting more limited by the day, it’s always a pleasure to be able to actually stretch out and have some space to yourself—without paying the absurd prices of first class.

Sometimes, however, you get on a plane and find that your row is filled, but that other rows are completely empty. Surely the airline won’t have a problem with you moving to this empty row, right?

As one TikTok user recently learned, this is wrong.

Can You Switch Seats On A Flight?

In a video with over 13 million views, TikTok user Niki (@niki_nik20) shows a flight attendant on a Southwest Airlines flight.

“Good morning. Can I see your boarding pass?” the flight attendant starts. In response, Niki hands over her pass—revealing she’s supposed to be in another seat and flying from Houston to California.

“That’s where you’re gonna have to sit at,” the flight attendant says, gesturing to her assigned seat.

Niki protests, saying that there’s no one in the seat in which she’s currently sitting.

“I understand. That’s just not how it works. The seat you have to sit in is a seat that’s assigned to you,” the flight attendant states.

After a bit more pushback from Niki, the flight attendant says, “I would either move, or else we’re just gonna have to take you off the flight altogether.”

“If you want a specific seat on the aircraft, you have to purchase that specific seat,” the flight attendant summarizes.

Eventually, Niki gives up and switches seats.

In the caption, she writes, “Southwest Airlines tried to remove me from the flight simply because I moved from one seat to another, even though both rows were completely empty and no one was sitting there. I immediately returned to my original seat because I had no intention of causing any trouble. However, right after takeoff, some other passengers came and sat in those exact same seats, and no one said anything to them. I truly believe in following rules, but sometimes a little flexibility and kindness would go a long way.”

What Are The Rules About Switching Seats?

While it may be tempting to switch to an open seat on a flight, many airlines forbid passengers from doing this without permission.

Southwest Airlines used to have an open seating policy. This meant that passengers could sit in any seat, as long as it was not occupied.

Now, however, the airline employs the industry-standard assigned seating policy. Although they do not appear to have an official policy regarding switching seats without permission, it’s likely that their policy is similar to other airlines when it comes to this practice.

For example, according to Aerospace Global News, American Airlines says in its Terms and Conditions that, “If you sit in a seat other than the one assigned, you may be asked to move.”

Delta has a similar policy: “If you’d like to move to an unoccupied seat within your ticketed cabin/seat product during the flight, please ask a flight attendant — changes are at the crew’s discretion and depend on safety considerations.”

Why Can’t You Just Change Seats?

In summary, it may be okay to move to another seat. However, one must ask for permission from a flight attendant.

Why do you need to ask? As reported by Wired, there are a few reasons. First, there are potential weight distribution issues. Empty rows may stay empty in order to maintain the plane’s balance.

Second, Conde Nast Traveler explains that there are restrictions on certain seats that may make them unavailable to some travelers. For example, there are some restrictions on who can sit in an exit row seat. Additionally, airlines may be hesitant to allow passengers to sit in seats above their class, as competition over these seats could cause issues.

In the comments section, users supported the actions of the flight attendant.

“He is absolutely 100% correct,” wrote a commenter.

Longtime ‘Price Is Right’ Producer Defends Show, Bob Barker, After ‘Hit Piece’ Documentary

Roger Dobkowitz, a producer on The Price is Right for over 30 years, is defending the show and its host, Bob Barker, following the release of a recent documentary. The documentary, which aired as part of the E! series Dirty Rotten Scandals, painted the show and its legendary host in a very negative light.

Among the many allegations made against Bob Barker was that he ordered there be no more than two Black contestants per show taping. Some of the game show’s former models also alleged that the producers fostered a culture of sexual harassment, which culminated in model Dian Parkinson filing an $8 million lawsuit that she later dropped. Another model, Holly Hallstrom, also sued Barker for wrongful termination and malicious prosecution after she claimed he fired her because she gained weight.

Longtime producer of ‘The Price is Right’ speaks out

Roger Dobkowitz, who produced The Price is Right from 1972 to 2008, took to Facebook this week to voice his displeasure with the Dirty Rotten Scandals episodes.

“Many of my friends have asked me for my comments in regards to the E documentary that was recently shown on their network,” he wrote. “However, up until now, I avoided commenting on it because I didn’t want to add any social traction to such an obvious ‘hit piece.’ The ‘documentary’ should just quietly disappear into the bottom of a TV equivalent of a waste basket along with all the other forgotten so-called ‘exposes.'”

Dobkowitz went on to say that the docuseries made him “realize that there are some people in this world who will happily exaggerate and create falsehoods in order to justify a personal hateful vendetta against a person in order to draw attention to themselves.”

He added, “Most people in society and individuals move on with their lives, especially after court rooms have settled disputes and they are closed. Most people are happy that a headache in their lives is over. Such closure is usually a life-marker to remind the person to grow and put things behind them. When someone feels the compulsion to constantly bring it up for another 30 years is a sign that something could be wrong with their capacity to reason maturely.”

Dobkowitz, who is 80, also said that someday he will write a book. In it, he claims, he will “clear up lots of misconceptions and dismiss many wrongful accusations.”

College Softball Coaches With History Of Abuse Allegedly Threatened Players To Avoid Getting Fired

The more information that comes out about college softball coaches Angie Nicholson and her husband, Rick Nicholson, the more surprising it is that they have been employed this many times for this long. How did they even get a job at UMBC in the first place?

It sounds like the duo was pretty good at covering their tracks along the way…

The Nicholsons are unlikely to get another opportunity coaching college softball after the latest accounts of their alleged behavior. I am curious to see whether they try to get litigious or if they accept their fate.

Rick and Angie Nicholson were cut loose by UMBC.

News of their ouster first broke on March 23. However, the University of Baltimore, Maryland County did not announce the separation for more than seven days. It became official on March 31.

Head coach Angie Nicholson and assistant coach Rick Nicholson coached only 18 games with the Retrievers. The former was hired back in August. She immediately brought her husband on staff with her. That proved to be a bad decision.

According to Edward Lee of the Baltimore Sun, Rick brushed the chest of two different college softball players while attempting to swat away insects. He later threatened to cut one of the players when she objected to the inappropriate contact. An observer also overheard the threat and reported it.

That was the final nail in the coffin for his and his wife’s employment. UMBC fired the Nicholsons after an investigation. They went 10-8 during their brief tenure with the program.

UMBC decided to cancel its remaining games after a team vote because “it became clear that it would not have the level of participation necessary to be able to safely complete the remainder of the 2026 season.” That puts all of the athletes who are on the roster in a sticky spot.

They may or may not get another year of eligibility. The seniors might not get to finish out their careers. We’ll see what the NCAA decides in the coming months.

Allegations of abuse continue to surface.

Unfortunately, it sounds like this kind of inappropriate behavior has been a recurring issue with the Nicholsons. Two former college softball athletes who played for Angie and Rick Nicholson at Georgia State revealed a concerning history of abuse after they were fired at UMBC.

They are not the only ones!

Maren Angus-Coombs of Softball on SI recently spoke with Kylie Bennett and Michelle Rogers about their time at Eastern Illinois University, as well as a few of their teammates. She also spoke with multiple former players at Hampton. Angie Nicholson was the head coach at Hampton from 2017-21 and Georgia State from 2022-24. That was before a one-year tenure at Norfolk State and 18 games at UMBC.

Bennett felt like she was “mentally abused.”

“It was just a lot of mind games. [Coach Nicholson] had my teammates watch what I was eating because she was telling me that I had an eating disorder. It was because I was an athlete, and I didn’t want to eat their fast food that they would bring us on road trips. I didn’t have any interest in going to Wendy’s. So I would order a salad, and I would bring apples with me on the trip.”

Nicholson and her assistant coach, Stephanie Taylor, also made a lot of jokes that were sexual in nature. They brought dildos on the team bus to “do inappropriate things that they thought were funny.”

Bennett and her teammates did not think it was funny. They brought their complaints to the administration, which led to increased surveillance during practice.

The college softball coaches tried not to get fired more than once.

Rick Nicholson did not appreciate how things were handled behind his back. Especially when the parents would meet up before games. They jokingly referred to the tailgates as “board meetings.”

“[Rick] started yelling, ‘You’re trying to get my wife fired,'” a former EIU parent told Softball on SI. “And a parent said, ‘What are you talking about?’ He says, ‘You’re having these meetings to get my wife fired.’ The parent said, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ And he says, ‘We’re going to go to the parking lot, and we’re going to settle this. You and I.'”

Rogers, a freshman at the time, claims Angie told her not to speak up.

“They said they knew people were trying to get them fired, and word for word, Angie looked at me and said, ‘If you f– us, we f– you.’”

According to Maren Angus-Coombs and Softball on SI, a similar situation also happened at Hampton. This was not a one-off occurrence.

Needless to say, if the allegations are true, neither Rick nor Angie Nicholson need to be employed as a college softball coach in the future. This ouster at UMBC is likely the end of their coaching careers. It will be interesting to see how they move forward. Will they fight the allegations or accept their fate?
