Having played for two or so weeks now, I am still learning the ropes and slowly moving up the rankings.

Here are some lessons I have learnt so far:

Like most games, you have to be efficient with your resource use.
When you attack to clear your zones, do so with odds stacked in your favour.
Therefore, it may be prudent to build up first, instead of being overly aggressive.
There are no random factors in combat, so use the Jactari Fight Simulator to predict results.
Use the HOMMK script to populate the fight simulator. This saves so much typing!
Using the troop bonus is not always the best option. You could take less losses if you use bigger stacks, especially with higher unit powers. Just experiment with the fight simulator to see the best options.

Lord of Ultima: Ranger Military City Layouts V2

This is an update for my Ranger Military City Layouts to add a third variant, ie, permanent dedicated defense.

The first variant is a defense configuration for a contested continent. Here is the Defense Ranger Military City Layout which you can see in the LoU Flash City Planner.

Max Units: 70,000 rangers

Recruitment Speed: 3s

Storage: 2,175,000 wood/food and 575,000 stone/iron

Food Deficit: 8,750 per hour (need to restock every 10.36 days)

As you can see, it is designed for maximum troop strength and reasonable recruiting speed. Being on a contested continent, this is not castled of course. Only your offensive cities are castled.

Thus, there is no food production, ship it in via the trade minister.

I have kept the design simple, without deviation from the conventional military city layout in the middle. This allows for easy conversion to the farming configuration once the continent is conquered.

For towers, I use:

Lookout Tower x2 to give 20 hours of attack advanced warning. I find 1 tower/10 hours is not enough.
Ranger Tower x 22.

The second variant is a farming configuration for a controlled continent. Here is the Farm Ranger Military City Layout which you can see in the LoU Flash City Planner.

Max Units: 176,000 rangers

Recruitment Speed: 3s

Storage: 2,975,000 wood/stone/iron/food

Food Deficit: 22,000 per hour (need to restock every 5.63 days)

Shipping Capacity: 4000 carts

Given this is for a controlled continent (off water), the city is castled to maximize troop strength. You lose out on a lot of troop strength if not castled.

There is no food production needed as you will have surplus food from dungeon raids. If there are no dungeon raids for whatever reason, ship in food via the trade minister.

There is a good amount of storage but not too much, as you will be shipping out the surplus with the trade minister anyhow.

There are a lot of marketplaces as shipping capacity is key:

You will be farming resources at a high rate, and need to be able to ship it to your warehouses/new cities.
Rapid shipping to palaces will be needed once palace building gets to higher levels.

The moonstone tower is there if you need some resource purification.

For towers, I would use:

Lookout Tower x2 to give 20 hours of attack advanced warning. I find 1 tower/10 hours is not enough.
Ballista Tower x22 as the most risk is someone catapulting your city.

The third variant is permanent dedicated defense for a strategic city, eg, palace. Here is the Defense Ranger Military City Layout which you can see in the LoU Flash City Planner.

Max Units: 284,000 rangers

Recruitment Speed: 3s

Storage: 2,575,000 wood/food and 975,000 stone/iron

Food Deficit: 35,500 per hour (need to restock every 3.02 days)

As you can see, it is designed for maximum troop strength and reasonable recruiting speed. There is no need for Moonglow Towers, Marketplaces, etc. You just build lots of rangers who sit and defend your palaces.

Like always, there is no food production, ship it in via the trade minister.

Aloriah: Midgard Progress Update #2.24

The Mother Dragon is finally dead. For those interested, here is the final battle log:

Round #2 took 6 months, given the heavily buffed Mother Dragon. Big congratulations to the Ragnarök alliance (names listed above). We pretty much dominated from start to finish. Honorable mention to Superbear0418 (was replaced by Rtbotb) who ran out of real time time and had to quit midway.

Here is the final scoreboard:

Note, I (and others) had a civilization size of 7700 also, but we abandoned villages at the end to get the "Honorable Deserter" achievement.

I came home strong with achievements at the end!

Here is a summary of lessons I had posted at the end of round #1:

Focus should be on civilization build only with scenario points farming on the side. Once built up, you can catch up on scenario points quite easily.
Expand as fast as you can, take the risk! You do not need to send an overwhelming force with your settlers as you can just dodge mobs on the way. Once you establish a new village, the hero protective skill, wall, moat and towers will aid your village defense greatly.
It is a pve race to the Mother Dragon. Anything else slows you down.
I chose the evil alignment this round but I think good has more suitable uber units, so I will try good in game round #2.

I can pretty much say those above points still hold true:

We did have some pvp to take out some players close to us in the first few months, but it was a pve race after that. Even before that, we had out built everyone else.
Sleipnir Horses > Fenrir Wolves for Mother Dragon attacks.

Furthermore, this is what I learnt in round #2:

Assuming you have an alliance that regularly farms Mother Dragon, farming Black Dragons for additional scenario points is still pretty much the way to win (as evidenced by my score). It does take a lot of time to farm at that level, so you need to be able to devote a lot of time to Aloriah. I spent most of my waking moments moving my armies around, constantly looking for Black Dragons.

I have always been a fan of the Heroes of Might and Magic series, so when this game came out, I was itching to try it. Things have cleared up a little in my schedule so here goes!

Aloriah: Midgard Progress Update #2.22

I am pushing out the Aloriah updates out to fortnightly, as given most things are known by now, there is not enough content to fill weekly updates.

There was not a reward for 35k scenario points as it has now gone to 10k jumps. Got one for 40k.

I finally used this greater dragon scroll which I got several weeks ago. It gives more scenario points then before, but I still do not think it's worth the 12 hours it takes to use.

Between the Mother Dragon weekly self damage and multiple attacks (only major attacks shown), the Mother Dragon is now up in the air again. We welcome her landing soon for the last phase.

You may noticed that Azumi and I left the alliance on a temporary basis for solo attacks. We are pretty busy in real life at present, and do not have time for joint alliance attacks. Solo attacks are better anyhow as:

The Mother Dragon negative wrath effect for alliances is too punishing.
It is a lot less hassle.

The only reason I see for a joint alliance attack is to preserve a feeling of team. We have done several attacks as a full alliance but it has taken its toll, and few of us have the time to spare any more.

As for new epics/plans/unit upgrades, my luck has not been good, and there has not been anything new gotten. This is in spite of me having several armies out there farming. I have not bid big in the auction house as I have used most of my money for research/unit retraining.

The interesting thing this week is that my "Civilization Size" has hit 7700. I had some spare resource (most of it is used to retrain troops for Mother Dragon attacks), and finally finished upgrading all my buildings to level 10. Thus, 7700 "Civilization Size" is the highest you can get.

The Mother Dragon has landed again, with 50% life. Time to kill her more! Here are details on the new epics available:

Aloriah: Midgard Progress Update #2.20

Rolled past 35k scenario points, but did not get any rewards for it. I guess the 30k mark was it for rewards.

On Midgard, we pretty much control the server and access to the Mother Dragon. This was the first proper non-alliance attack, so props go out to Mysterious!

The Mother Dragon now loses life on a weekly basis. That was 4% supposedly. The message was bugged but now has been fixed.

Ragnarök's weekly attack on the Mother Dragon occurred as normal. This was attack #9 and we did 12.5% damage, taking her down to 43.8%. If you are interested, you can read the battle report at:

She is now back flying in the air, and her life rounds back up to 50%.

Apparently, silver eggs can now be found (an alliance member got one). They upgrade the Mother Dragon set items to the next tier. As for me, I have not found anything new yet. :(

Lord of Ultima: Templar Military City Layout

Similarly to Crossbowmen, I normally use Paladins instead of Templars (http://guzzerbbg.blogspot.com/2010/11/lord-of-ultima-paladin-military-city.html). However, there are times whereby you need permanent dedicated defense, for example, palace defense. In this case, Templars would be better.

Thus, here is the Templar Military City Layout which you can see in the LoU Flash City Planner:

Max Units: 296,000 Templars

Recruitment Speed: 5s

Storage: 975,000 wood/stone and 2,575,000 iron/food

Food Deficit: 37,000 per hour (need to restock every 2.90 days)

As you can see, it is designed for maximum troop strength and reasonable recruiting speed. There is no need for Moonglow Towers, Marketplaces, etc. You just build lots of Templars who sit and defend your palace.

Like always, there is no food production, ship it in via the trade minister.

30k scenario points, just rolling through the milestones. I am not sure how many resources I received as a reward, just a lot, as the notification for the scenario point rewards is currently bugged.

The excitement of the patch 1.004 changes is now dying down, and it is back to business as usual:

Black dragon scenario point Farming.
Weekly Mother Dragon attacks.
Farming ruins/fishing for items/resources.
Plundering other players for resources (to fund our troop retraining for Mother Dragon attacks) and ensure no one else gets too big so as to challenge us in future.

Ragnarök's weekly attack on the Mother Dragon occurred as normal. This was attack #8 and we did 8.8% damage, taking her down to 61.7%. If you are interested, you can read the battle report at:

Despite it being the most damage we have done in an attack, it was a rather messy attack. We were not all able to engage at the same time as the server was incredibly unstable. We had great difficult logging in to change our movement orders. The Mother Dragon was moving around a bit and we had to re-plot our path to her several times. Draak basically carried a lot of the damage as he brought a ton more troops!

A few of us in the alliance were lucky enough to get purple eggs so we did a combined hatching which netted all of us a new epic each:

I think it was bugged a little as the chance is not supposed to be 100% for all. It has been corrected now and we should consider ourselves fortunate.

Rewards for dragon scrolls were upgraded in patch 1.004 but as you can see, it may still not be worth the time to use them. However, I still have a greater scroll to test which I will do so soon.

Chest rewards were increased also. Similarly (to scrolls), I am not sure gold chests are worth bothering with, especially given you have to dedicate a primary skill to them.

Aloriah: Midgard Progress Update #2.18

30k scenario points here I come!

The long awaited Patch 1.004 (Graphics and Egg-Content) has now arrived. Patch notes can be found at:

Once of the first things I checked was the new "Realm Ranking". I am rather pleased with my #1 position given that I do not focus on achievements primarily. My main aim is to win the round and get achievements as I go. Ramdas, on the other hand, does focus on achievements a bit and he has now surpassed me with 2135 achievement points, it just has not updated yet. Congratulations are in order!

When the Mother Dragon is in the air, she drops eggs which you can pick up. Above is how they look on the ground. It is the green egg just next to the lookout tower. When the Mother Dragon is landed, you can still get eggs from ruins, etc.

I was fortunate to get 3 bronze eggs and upgraded 3 items.

Given the Mother Dragon has landed, we resumed our weekly attacks on her. There was a problem with this weeks attack as the Mother Dragon roams out of her lair a lot more, as you can see in following picture:

Whilst we were waiting at the gather spot, the Mother Dragon attacked us! My main army was still enroute. Therefore, we only did 3.8%. The battle report is at:

I could have left the alliance temporary to attack without the "Wrath of the Mother Dragon" (only 35% effectiveness as there are seven of us in the alliance). If I did so, I would have done a lot more damage. However, I chose not to do so as my little form of protest. I am not happy how the wrath makes us "raid" each week, instead of attacking in our own time. Such a design goes against the notion of being able to play in your own time.

The Mother Dragon now sits at 70.5%. Prior to our two attacks, it had roamed and attacked two other players who each did 0.1% to her.

Given the Mother Dragon roams out of her lair a lot more now, the parts of Molten Ashlands near her lair have become extremely hazardous. Above is a prime example of an army I had too close. :(

Lord of Ultima: Guardian Military City Layout

Although I normally use Crossbowmen (http://guzzerbbg.blogspot.com/2011/02/lord-of-ultima-crossbowman-military.html), there are times whereby you need permanent dedicated defense, for example, palace defense. In this case, Guardians would be better.

Thus, here is the Guardian Military City Layout which you can see in the LoU Flash City Planner:

Max Units: 292,000 Guardians

Recruitment Speed: 4s

Storage: 975,000 wood/stone and 2,575,000 iron/food

Food Deficit: 36,500 per hour (need to restock every 2.94 days)

As you can see, it is designed for maximum troop strength and reasonable recruiting speed. There is no need for Moonglow Towers, Marketplaces, etc. You just build lots of Guardians who sit and defend your palace.

Like always, there is no food production, ship it in via the trade minister.

For towers, I use:

Lookout Tower x2 to give 20 hours of attack advanced warning. I find 1 tower/10 hours is not enough.
Ballista Tower x22 as the most risk is someone catapulting your city.

Farm, farm, farm, another milestone done!

There was no Mother Dragon attack this week, as she is still flying, up in the air. Her landing is dependent on the new patch, which is due any day now. We are all waiting with bated breath.

In the meantime, I am busy trying to get as much of the world explored so I can get to the eggs (which apparently will be dropped around the world) as soon as possible:

Searching many portal stones as I can.
Controlling lookout towers. I control 75 as of current count.
My Achievements statistics tell me I have explored 67.7% of the black fog.

As mentioned previously, I (and a few other alliance mates) are housing constrained. My maximum housing is 154,270 which means I can go over it by 40% to 215,978 before I hit "Mass Starvation". I sit at 187,224 units currently and I have not been training that hard this week. Thus, I am dropping to minimum training buildings and converting them to Taverns. My plan is to train only Sleipnir Horses and Sarimner Boars. Given they are trained by Uber Lairs, I can afford to drop most normal troop training buildings.

I am still leading by a lot but my rate of black dragon farming seems to be decreasing a little. I do not have as much time nowadays and frankly, it is kind of boring.

Ragnarök's weekly attack on the Mother Dragon occurred as normal. This was attack #6 and we did 2% damage. If you are interested, you can read the battle report at:

We only needed 1.7% to get it to 75% so we did not take as many troops as usual, conserving them for later.

2% is cutting it too fine for my liking though. The reason is that the Mother Dragon breathed on us on our way to her, and we had to walk through several cells of fire beforehand. Thus, we got to her with a lot of our troops already lost. Anyhow, we got it to 75% regardless.

We do need the new patch before it lands and eggs become available, so here is hoping that it will not take too long.

This is what happens when you have too many troops, which pretty much seems to be the soft cap for troop size. I am having trouble staying below this limit as I have an abundance of resource. Going forward, I will be training mostly sleipnir horses are they are best for Mother Dragon attacks.

Lord of Ultima: Warehouse City Layout V2

It has been a while since my warehouse layout so it is time to update it as the game has progressed. Things have certainly changed a lot, eg, trade minister and palaces. Lord Ultima has come leaps and bounds since I started playing back in June 2010.

There also is an improvement to the design pattern, thanks to a suggestion from an alliance member, Anon69. I now have 2 variants, default and palace build.

Here is my Default Warehouse City Layout which you can see in the LoU Flash City Planner.

Storage: 14,575,000 wood/stone and 18,575,000 iron/food

Shipping Capacity: 7,400 carts and 240 merchant ships

This is what I use for everyday life in Lord of Ultima. There is an option for you to balance out the wood/stone/iron/food or have more wood/stone then iron/food. However, I use the more iron/food option as I like to store more of such for times of war.

Here is my Palace Build Warehouse City Layout which you can see in the LoU Flash City Planner.

Storage: 27,375,000 wood/stone and 5,775,000 iron/food

Shipping Capacity: 7,400 carts and 240 merchant ships

This layout is essentially to store a lot of wood/stone for when your palaces get enlightened.

I see the following purposes for a warehouse city now:

To store resources for when they are needed, for example, new city build and war supply.
To ship resources to support new continent builds/invasions.
To consolidate food for feeding your armies. The trade minister has made this oh so easy now:

Farms feed the warehouses.
Excess food from military raiding cities is shipped to warehouses.
Cities that need food request shipment from warehouses.

To store excess wood/stone for when your palaces get enlightened. Please note you cannot just ship only from your warehouses but your resource/military raiding cities also, as high level palaces need a lot of wood/stone. If you ship from your warehouses only, filling up your palace will take a lot longer, and possibly span several enlightenment periods.

My design logic is:

If you do get excessive resources somehow, the moonglow tower allows for purification of them.
The City guard house is there to recruit city guard for defense.
There is a food cluster to feed your city guard. There are times whereby you might ship all the food out unintentionally, so this prevents starvation. Depending on your lake placements, you can roughly support 100,000 city guard without external food supply, if needs be.
There is no trinsic temple as I normally recruit barons in paladin military cities. It is a lot faster there anyhow. If I do have to send barons to another continent, I have a few paladin military cities on water with harbours to allow that. However, if you do not have that situation, and do want a trinsic temple in your warehouse city, you can always drop a marketplace for a trinsic temple.
You might notice there is a much higher shipping capacity here then in other warehouse cities you might have seen. It is all about resource flow with the trade minister and the more shipping you have, the more cities you can support per warehouse, and/or the faster you can ship to palaces.

For towers, I recommend:

Lookout tower x2 to give 20 hours of attack advanced warning. I find 1 tower/10 hours is not enough.
The remaining 22 towers depend on whatever defensive troops you have. For me personally, I use Ballista towers as my alliance has full continent control, so no one is there to plunder me from within the continent. Thus, Ballista towers are there in case someone decides to plunder from offshore, which is very rare anyhow.

20k scenario points came and went, 25k here I come. It is getting rather monotonous now. If you are wondering, Black Dragon farming still gives a lot more (per week) scenario points then Mother Dragon attacks. Thus, there is no let up in the Black Dragon grind, given I do want to maximize scenario points.

Lord of Ultima: Warlock Military City Layout

I use Warlocks over Mages as they make better farmers. Naturally, I have two city variants. However, you do have an option to recruit Mages instead for the attack variant. Once the continent is conquered, you can dismiss whatever Mages you have leftover and recruit Warlocks for farming.

The first variant is a full attack configuration for a contested continent. Here is the Attack Warlock Military City Layout which you can see in the LoU Flash City Planner:

Max Units: 138,000 Warlocks

Recruitment Speed: 18s

Storage: 975,000 wood/stone and 2,575,000 iron/food

Food Deficit: 115,000 per hour (need to restock every 22.4 hours)

As you can see, it is designed for maximum troop strength and reasonable recruiting speed. On a contested continent, you need to minimize castling and get the most out of the few castles you have.

Thus, there is no food production, ship it in via the trade minister.

For towers, I use:

Lookout Tower x2 to give 20 hours of attack advanced warning. I find 1 tower/10 hours is not enough.
Ballista Tower x22 as the most risk is someone catapulting your city.

The second variant is a farming configuration for a controlled continent. Here is the Farm Warlock Military City Layout which you can see in the LoU Flash City Planner:

Max Units: 88,000 Warlocks

Recruitment Speed: 18s

Storage: 2,975,000 wood/stone/iron/food

Food Deficit: 73,333 per hour (need to restock every 40.6 hours)

Shipping Capacity: 4200 carts

There is no food production needed as you will have surplus food from dungeon raids. If there are no dungeon raids for whatever reason, ship in food via the trade minister.

There is a good amount of storage but not too much, as you will be shipping out the surplus with the trade minister anyhow.

There are a lot of marketplaces as shipping capacity is key:

You will be farming resources at a high rate, and need to be able to ship it to your warehouses/new cities.
Rapid shipping to palaces will be needed once palace building gets to higher levels.

For towers, I still would use:

Close to 20k scenario points, should be able to get it by next week, if not in the next few days.

Woot! It took some effort but I finally made it. If I am correct, I think I am the first to achieve such.Shout out goes to Mysterious who reminded me that I had not done the 'Public Announcer' and 'Patience Is a Virtue' as yet which took me to over the line.

Things do not always go my way. :( My treasure hunter ran into some ruby dragons in Molten Ashlands when I was not watching.

The Mother Dragon is now on 84.1%.

At the end of Midgard round one, I said that the Mother Dragon was way too easy. However, with the current incarnation, it does seem like it is too hard, ie, will take way too long to kill. I used to raid hardcore in the World of Warcraft and our weekly Mother Dragon outings so feel like a raid. The whole thing can take 4-6 hours.

Yell at everyone to turn up at the designated spot on time!
Ensure we get our relevant buffs.
Move together as we chase the Mother Dragon through her lair.
Engage and fight!
Receive the loot (scenario points and diamonds).
Res and port out.

The thing is, the way the current mechanics are, you have to attack all together to make a decent dent, ie, raid. I think maybe some thought should be given to allowing solo attacks to be effective, whether you are in an alliance or not.

Farm, farm, farm! 15k scenario points came and went by. 20k, here we come!

The Mother Dragon is now on 88.4%. At this rate, we should unlock the 75% effects within 2-3 weeks.

The other main activity I have been doing is attacking anyone (not allied) that poses a current or future threat to us. Dry Steppes is bit of a scorched earth. As a result, some people have quit the round as they see no chance of beating us, and it is unfortunate, but that is the nature of a war game. I do agree it can be quite harsh on players behind us, but end of the day, we are here to win. I will not jeopardize that by letting competitive players build up. So, if you do get attacked by me, think of it as a compliment. :)

Villages are quite hard to defend. I remember early on, Tweezer stole 3 items from my Dry Steppes village whilst my main armies were out and about, and I was asleep. I had overall superior forces but I had to peace him as I did not want to slow my build. Aloriah is pretty much a build game. You need to out build and smash your opposition before they get a foothold. This is especially important given that each week, we lose a lot of troops on our Mother Dragon attack.

Lord of Ultima: Crossbowman Military City Layouts

I have two crossbowman military city variants. Please note that I favour crossbowman over guardians due to their mobility for two reasons:

Mobility allows you to redeploy defense rapidly, and that can be the difference in stopping a plunder or saving a city.
For times of peace, crossbowman farm dungeons a lot better.

The first variant is a defense configuration for a contested continent. Here is the Defense Crossbowman Military City Layout which you can see in the LoU Flash City Planner.

Max Units: 35,000 crossbowman

Recruitment Speed: 8s

Storage: 2,175,000 wood/food, 575,000 stone/iron

Food Deficit: 14,583 per hour (need to restock every 6.21 days)

As you can see, it is designed for maximum troop strength and reasonable recruiting speed. Being on a contested continent, this is not castled of course. Only your offensive cities are castled.

Thus, there is no food production, ship it in via the trade minister.

For towers, I use:

Lookout Tower x2 to give 20 hours of attack advanced warning. I find 1 tower/10 hours is not enough.
Ranger Tower x 22, given I do not use guardians.

The second variant is a farming configuration for a controlled continent. Here is the Farm Crossbowman Military City Layout which you can see in the LoU Flash City Planner.

Storage: 2,975,000 wood/stone/iron/food

Given this is for a controlled continent (off water), the city is castled to maximize troop strength. You lose out on a lot of troop strength if not castled.

I (and the Ragnarök alliance) have settled into the grind now (at least until the new items/etc are unlocked by taking the Mother Dragon to 75%) which consists of:

Black dragon scenario point farming.
Weekly mother dragon attacks.

Not everyone in the alliance was ready for this week's attack so only Azumi, Draak and I participated. Thus, we were only able to take 1.7% off the Mother Dragon's life. She currently sits at 94.3%.

You might be interested to know what I use to attack the Mother Dragon. We aim for 100k troops per alliance member.

I have a dedicated hero for Mother Dragon attacks with the following skill design:

Fire Resistance 12
Rune Blood Ritual 9
Defender 9
Poison Resistance 6
Water Resistance 6
Bandit Tactics 6
Aggressive 6

In other news, my fishing hero got pulled under and died yet again. This has been his 3rd time. Now that I have spare sleipnir horses, I am going to be trying ruins again. You can run around Misty Marshes safely with sleipnir horses, so I will be visiting ruins there, without any need to watch my army. This is opposed to Molten Ashlands where ruby dragon armies can kill my sleipnir horses quite easily. I will actually welcome running into mobs in Misty Marshes so my hero can level up a bit more.

Aloriah: Midgard Progress Update #2.11

I blew past the 10k scenario point achievement quite easily. Unfortunately, there were no new epic(s) rewards. This was confirmed by the developers who said the "undefined" was just a display bug. I will be honest and say it was a bit of a let down. Farming 10k+ scenario points is no mean feat, and the reward is worse then the 5k one. I hope the 20k reward is decent.

On the achievement point front, I am currently at 1920. I hope to make that "Elite Player" 2k mark soon.

The update last week was pretty boring as we were preparing to attack the Mother Dragon and did not want to give that away, until the attack occurred. :) Now, I can talk about it.

So, we attacked the Mother Dragon! This was a proper attack, we did a test attack the other week.

In typical fashion, here is the role-play blurb from our leader Ramdas:

"After Midgard’s first clash with the Mother Dragon she breathed her last fiery breath and died. The G-ds took her soul with them hoping to tame this untamable beast. But it was just that untamable, instead the Mother Dragon got loose and ate several G-ds absorbing the power G-ds the Mother Dragon became Mother Dragon Goddess, the destroyer of mankind.

You all thought the Mother Dragon was tough to handle now try her when she has the power of several of the G-ds. It is as if the Mother Dragon went on steroids (Don’t do drugs!) . The Mother dragon will not go down in one attack. Now it will take several more attacks to destroy he life essence to such a degree to cause the Mother Dragon to become a spirit again.

One positive thing about the Mother Dragon eating the G-ds is that the G-ds in her stomach did something to her egg laying abilities. She now lays eggs that give rewards to the heroes who attack the Mother Dragon. This was the G-d’s who were eaten final act of revenge.

We Ragnarök will be taking these eggs in honor of the G-ds of Aloriah. All shall learn why Ragnarök are the force that ends the World."

Note, the world announcement only listed me instead of the seven members of the Ragnarök alliance. I think that is because I was the last one to die.

The "undefined" scenario was a display bug. I did not record how many scenario points I had before the fight, but other members of the alliance reported they gained scenario points. It would have been 285 or so ((4 * 10 * 50)/7) each. The scenario points are not really worth it. Black dragons farming is still better. You attack the Mother Dragon more to kill it and to get access to other rewards, eg, eggs.

We brought 535k worth of troops, and only did 4%! It is certainly going to take some killing. It will speed up in future as:

Not all of us were at full troop strength.
Eggs (most probably) will process access to better buildings, troops, etc which will increase our capabilities.

Well, it is going to be rinse and repeat. Retrain troops, attack again until the Mother Dragon dies! We shall see what new items/etc unlock as we progress.

Aloriah: Midgard Progress Update #2.10

I farmed 1922 scenario points this week, and now am so close to the 10k scenario point achievement. I should be getting that in 2-3 days. I am waiting with bated breath to see what the rewards are. I hope you are too!

There were no other significant events this week. Most/all of the effort was spent on farming achievement points, even more then last week. Hopefully, some interesting events will happen next week. :)

That said, I am pretty sure I am setting achievement point farming records. It may seem like mundane but farming at this rate takes a lot of time and effort. You have to be constantly watching and maneuvering your armies around. I am not sure I will be able to play at this level all the time. There is a definite advantage if you have a lot of time to devote to the game You pretty much have no chance of such achievement point mass farming if you are casual.

I do understand there is reward for effort, but I think games should be more about making intelligent decisions then pure grind. One thing that could improve things is if armies had AI (artificial intelligence) but that would be a pretty big change.
