Gwittir 0.4.4 released

Gwittir is a library for GWT that includes many cool utilities, like databinding, animation, reflection, and more. Like many GWT projects over the past couple of weeks, Gwittir 0.4.4 has now been updated to support the latest GWT 1.5 release. However, there are some other interesting goodies as well. The big thing that caught my eye was the new Joda Time integration. If you have ever been frustrated by GWT’s lack of java.util.Calendar support, you’ll love this, as it makes it easy to do date manipulations in your applications. Also in this release is a new ContextMenuPanel, for right-click context menus and a new Reflection system that takes advantage of the method inlining features of the GWT 1.5 compiler.

GWT Widget Library 0.2.0 released
Now compatible with GWT 1.5.
gwt-dnd-2.5.2 release
Contains some minor bug fixes. The 2.5.x releases are now compatible with GWT 1.5.
GWT fireside chat
Ed Burnette summarizes what went on during the GWT Fireside Chat session at the Google I/O conference.
iPhone Lego Robot Video Demonstration
How cool is this? Uses a GWT app on an iPhone to control a Lego Robot. Source code is even included.
Lessons Learned during upgrade to GWT 1.5
MonkeyMike wrote a nice post about his experiences with moving his code base to use the new GWT 1.5 RC1 release.
Ext GWT v1.0 Beta 4 Released
The Beta 4 release of Ext GWT now supports the new GWT 1.5 RC1 build. It also features improved performance and some new advanced form layouts among other things.

Of course the big news this week was the announcement of GWT 1.5 RC 1, but here were some of the other GWT related happenings for the week.

GwtQuery 0.1 alpha released
This is Ray Cromwell’s jQuery-like API written in GWT. It is only a partial implementation and not deployable but you can examine the source. Version 0.2 should be out on Monday.
Rocket GWT 0.50 released
From the changelog, looks like this is just a minor release.
GWT meeting in Paris
Didier Girard is setting up a GWT meeting in Paris which will include a half day of training. It’s scheduled for June 4th, so if you happen to in France, check it out.
GWT library landscape after the Ext JS license change
Psyho has posted an opinion piece on his blog about the state of GWT’s widget libraries.

GWT 1.5 RC1 Released
