So far I am also lost as to its meaning.

I get a potential tie-in to Spring and a Storm because of the last lines about coming from a star. Then perhaps we are the fate of the stars?

Otherwise. It doesn't go together in any way I yet see, and I AM looking at the lyrics.

Nice, I see the photos, now I still have to wait 3 more days to have my hands on it all! It's tough being away from home for such a momentous occasion. The girlfriend says my note was from Joe which is fantastic.

I will never forget the first Tally Hall concert I went to at Mr. Small's I believe in 2009 (when they toured with Malbec, and it was all 5 of them.). It was just an unbelievable and inspirational experience, and I got all of their autographs and talked to them for a while after the concert. I will never forget the ridiculous amount of chills I got when they played A Lady (very first song), and they all sang in perfect harmony. Hahaha it give me chills just typing about it.

I hadn't noticed that until now! It's not the first time we've heard a dramatic re-structuring of a Joe Hawley song. In the case of the original "Ruler Of Everything"'s transition from demo to MMMM, the time lost from cutting the second verse was re-established (added to, even) with the string introduction and alternate opening verse, but I don't think that much time has ever been completely cut from a song in all of the Tally Hall canon.

At first I thought that perhaps the listing online (after all, Amazon yanked the samples fairly quickly) was a typo and it's supposed to read 3:20 instead? I surely hope so. Although with a little further research, a video of the them in the Middle East Club has 2 entire verses and part of the bridge excised, so that the entire run of "A Lady" & "Sacred Beast" together clocks in at 3:15. The "First of all we know..." verse and the last verse closing with "shades of green" are both gone.

In the end, we have to trust to their artistic instincts. They're not our songs, though it feels pretty easy to be incensed when changes are made that aren't to our liking. It must be strange to own a piece of writing that thousands of people embrace so fully and personally. Especially when the band is so damn good that more of anything they write never feels gratuitous! Even at the original 3 minute length, I thought the song was very concise! I, too, will be incredibly disappointed if it turns up on the album considerably shortened...

I made a video game a while back (quite a while back) about Tally Hall, it's a side-scrolling platformer...like a mix of Metroid and Sonic the Hedgehog (and Commander Keen and Mario and...)

However, no one has been able to play it because the age of being able to figure out side-scrolling platformers has unfortunately passed. Therefore, I have decided to stream gameplay for it....in about 53 minutes.

For those of you with PC's, I'll email you the link to download the game because i don't want to mess with online file hosting nawmean?

There's really not one song that I'm not excited for on the album. I loooooove &, Who You Are, and Hymn for a Scarecrow, but there's really every single one I'm looking forward to.

By the way, did anyone else notice that the beginning of & in the preview of Good & Evil had kind of like a techno edit to the voices? Idk if that was just for that part of the song and Out in the Twilight, or just for those two songs, or for the whole album.

Where is Joe Hawley?

Yeah, I mean it's not completely changed, but as far as I remember, the release date did say 2008 under Atlantic Records, short and sweet. And now it only says 2005 and under exclusive license of Atlantic Records in 2008 or whatever it is. haha. I'm pretty sure it's different in some way at least lol

I might have to shoot someone if they've never heard of Ben Folds. And I'd assume most have heard of The Decemberists by this point. And if they pay attention to certain TH member Twitter accounts, they've heard of Fun and Freelance Whales. Morning Benders, I'm not familiar with.

Hahahaha! That's fantastic! Honestly...I've mentioned the name Ben Folds a few times to some people that I know, and they weren't familiar with him...Of course, once I showed him to them, they loved him, but I was really surprised that they hadn't heard of him...that's why I always ask now.

I'm Freelance Whales are getting around! They are very cool and definitely different! I recently got into them, and I love them!

And The Morning Benders are pretty fantastic! They're relatively mellow sounding. A lot of cool 60's sounding songs. It's very cool and definitely not something you hear everyday! I definitely recommend them! Notable songs are Waiting for a War, Excuses, Promises, Loose Change, and Damnit Anna, but honestly, I love all of them!

Casey is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. After T.H. got done their set in D.C., I saw him and pointed him out (I think I was the only one to recognize him without the outfit on) and he came over and we just yapped about random stuff for the rest of the night. He bought me three drinks (sodas, actually) and gave me a copy of his music, too.

Then when "Love is Here to Stay" was released I got a random Facebook message with a .ZIP file containing the album.

I was reeally disappointed that their only performance in the Washington, D.C. area in May was 18+, but I'm so glad that I can go to this one!

Between the annoyingness complaints and the fact that it causes some errors when loading pages, I've taken off the bar. You'll notice the front page has an area to sign in now, the forums has it ~~above the advertisement~~*, and the news has a sign-in above the articles.

FanJournals is the only place left it's still there and that won't be for much longer. If I forgot an area, lemme know!

* I keep moving it... trying to find a good place that doesnt mess up too many things, isn't distracting, yet isnt hidden either.

To explain that one part about the forums a little better....

I have to switch the whole forums back to that generic, blue, uncustomized default theme in order to use the Google login. It's currently not available when using this sand-colored "ubuntu" theme, as it's called.

But I'm working on making it available for this theme... hopefully sooner than later.
