Ireland, Afghanistan granted Test status by ICC

what it means: The move, which means both Ireland and Afghanistan become full members of the ICC, expands the number of Test-playing nations to 12. They only play limited-overs cricket currently.
what next: Ireland and Afghanistan will get to play the top teams or the ICC may bring in two-tier competition.

what happened: Justice Karnan was shifted to SSKM Hospital from Presidency Jail in Kolkata on Thursday afternoon.
what it means: He felt uneasy following which jail doctors referred him to the  hospital, state director general (prisons), Arun Gupta said. However, he refused to make any comment on the ailment details.

what happened: CBI on Thursday interrogated IPS officer SMH Mirza for eight hours on the Narada scam.
what it means: While questioning CBI showed Mirza video clips where he was seen accepting cash from Narada News CEO Mathew Samuel. Mirza is the second person after Trinamool MLA Iqbal Ahmed to face CBI grilling.
what next: CBI will summon Mirza again for questioning as his interrogation might lead to further clues.
