Dangal becomes top grossing non-Hollywood film in China

what happened: The Aamir Khan-starrer released in China on May 5, and has crossed 806 million yuan (Rs 758.4 cr).
what it means: Dangal has broken the record of Japanese fantasy drama, Your Name, which netted Rs 545 crore at the box office last year. Aamir's films (earlier 3 Idiots and PK) do exceptionally well in China.
what next: Dangal — based on the Phogat family — continues to run in about 7000 screens in China.

what happened: Kiran Rao rubbishes rumours of Aamir Khan recommending Fatima Sana Shaikh for Thugs Of Hindostan.
what it means: Since it was confirmed that Fatima and Aamir will act together again, after Dangal, rumours were that she received Aamir’s recommendation. But neither Aamir nor Fatima have spoken on this topic.
what next: Also starring actors Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif, Thugs... will release in 2018.

Non-bailable arrest warrant against Tamil film actors

what happened: The list has the name of eight Tamil actors including Sathyaraj, Suriya, R Sarathkumar and Sripriya.
what it means: It was issued after they failed to appear before court for a defamation case filed by a journalist alleging them of attacking all journalists, while talking about an article tainting female actors.
what next: We will now have to wait and see how the actors react to the issue.

Tubelight gets a U certificate from CBFC

what happened: Director of the film Kabir Khan, tweeted the U certificate that CBFC has given the film.
what it means: The film Tubelight is set in the 1962 Indo-China War. The film will have political undertones, therefore a U certificate from CBFC comes as a bit of a surprise.
what next: The trailer of the film starring Salman Khan and directed by Kabir Khan is set to release on 25 May.
