A Trip of a Lifetime!

This year’s theme is all about vacation destinations. Each day children will travel to a different vacation destination to learn about how God worked in the lives of men in the Bible as He took them on a trip of a lifetime!

Times are 6:30-8:00 pm. No cost. For more information contact the church office and ask for Tammy. Hope to see you there!

Summer 2010 is going to be packed full of fun times for kids.

We will have a new Wednesday night schedule in the months of June and July. There will be a time of Bible teaching before all of the children have fun participating in themed events each night.

Children’s Christmas Event, Dec. 16, 6-8pm

Come experience Christmas a whole new way this season. During this event children go to four different sites and learn of the good news of Jesus’ birth.

This event is for all children ages 3-6th grade.

Children will meet people dressed in Bible clothing and think about Jesus birth from a new perspective.

Plan to attend and bring a friend. Let’s celebrate the Good News together!

New Children’s Church Format Working Well.

Since we began the new Children’s Church format to include the 4th, 5th and 6th graders the level of enthusiasm and excitement has increased dramatically. Our worship time, led by Mrs. Lindsay Shupe, is outstanding. The children are genuinely worshipping the Lord, and having a great time doing it!

The attendance has been wonderful with 40-65 children attending each Sunday.

I am having a great time preparing a message each week that I deliver after worship. The children are very attentive and well behaved. They love hearing God’s Truth from His Word.

May God be honored and pleased with our efforts to train up our children to love Him and worship Him because He alone is worthy of our praise.

Children’s Easter Celebration, Sat. April 4, 10:00am-Noon

“He Loves Me” is the theme for this year’s Easter celebration. There will be two events for children taking place at the same time:

Preshool Event (ages 3-Kindergarten) with egg hunt, Bible time, snacks, crafts and music.

Elementary Event (grades 1-5) with games, Bible time, snacks and music.

This is a great time for the whole family. Come with your friends, a basket and your camera!

Children’s Church News!

It’s time for us to expand Children’s Church once again. Currently, Children’s Church is offered for children age 4 through 3rd grade, but beginning Sunday, March 15, children in 4th, 5th or 6th grade will also be included. We are very excited about changing our children’s worship services to include all of these precious children.

Christmas is over and it’s time to get back into a routine. That is going to be a little difficult for us in children’s ministry because there is not a “routine.” Things are always changing!

New classes, new topics, new adventures, new ideas, new activities and new faces. New faces and new friends are always welcome. We are going to have a great time in 2009. Make sure you are a part of it all. Check our website often to see what is coming up.

Children’s Ministry Update

There is a lot going on in Children’s Ministry at Holland Avenue.

The annual Hallelujah Harvest Festival which was held on October 31st was great. The weather was perfect and the attendance was awesome. Well over 1000 people attended and I praise the Lord that our HABC family welcomed them and showed them God’s light on Halloween night.

We are now preparing for a new Christmas event, “Joy For The World.” This event will be held Wednesday, December 17 from 6-8 PM. All children age 3 through 6th grade will go to different sites and experience the Christ of Christmas. Please make plans for your children and their friends to participate in this special Christmas experience.

Sunday Morning Bible Study begins each Sunday at 9:15AM. New curriculum will be used during Bible Study for all of our children beginning in December. All of our leaders have been trained and are very excited about how our children and their families will benefit from this change. Parents will be given tools to use at home with chidren throughout the week and everyone studies the same lesson each week. It’s gonna be great!

Children’s Worship is going great. Our worship time is lots of fun. We learn new praise and worship songs together, then when the children go to their class, 4’s and Kindergarten or 1st-3rd grade, they have a great time of Bible learning with their leaders. Every three years the children cover the whole Bible. Awesome!

On Wednesday nights at 7:00PM there are five different age appropriate classes for children, ages preschool through 6th grade. The children learn about missions and about individual missionaries. There is also a corporate time of Bible learning with our own, Mike Dawkins, a missionary from Indonesia. The children are learning all the books of the Bible along with facts about each book and hand motions that help them remember. During this time they also learn a monthly Bible verse. Wednesday nights are lots of fun and a great time to reconnect with Christian friends in the middle of the week.

December 7 – No Children’s Church due to special presentation during “Big Church.”

December 14 – No Children’s Church due to special children’s presentation during “Big Church.”

December 17 – Christmas Event “Joy for the World” for all children, preschool through 6th grade.

Thanks for checking in on the Children’s Ministry of Holland Avenue Baptist Church. I am the Children’s Minister and am thankful to be able to tell you about how we minister to children. Our mission statement is: “Building a Foundation of Faith for the Future.” We know the children are our future, but more importantly, we have to provide them with ways to make their future better. We believe the only way to have an awesome future is to believe in, and live for, Jesus Christ. I will look forward to hearing from you.
