Generic Propecia is an antiandrogen that is synthesized to stop pattern hair loss in men. This drug is formulated to inhibit type 2 5-alpha reductase. When this enzyme is inhibited then it can no longer convert testosterone hormone into dihydrotestosterone or DHT. DHT causes pattern hair loss that you see in men.

This is one of the most recommended medicines that are used to stop hair loss in men. Before you start this medicine it is advisable to know the reason of the hair loss. This would help you in moving in the right direction.

When you start this medicine then you can take 1mg dose of this medicine daily. It is clinically proved that 1 mg is the ideal dosage and even if you increase the dose the process of hair loss stopping would not speed up.
People with dysfunctional liver should not take this medicine.

This medicine is only for men and in no way women should take it, especially pregnant or nursing women. If your wife is trying to conceive then you should not take this medicine because it can cause birth defects in the conceived child. You should know that this can reduce the seminal fluid as well but not in all cases.

Generic Propecia is very effective in controlling hair fall and you would clearly notice the effect as you start using it. You can take it even empty stomach and it does not have any side effect. It is your choice if you want to take it with meals. The duration for the treatment would vary from person to person because it is all about controlling enzymes in your body. Every individual has a different response time towards a medicine. It may vary between 6 months to a year. You have to be very patient with the treatment. Even if it takes long time then also you should not discontinue. If you discontinue the treatment then you may end up losing the hair that you have been able to retain during the treatment.

You should make sure that you store this at room temperature and it should not be exposed to direct light and moisture. This medicine is tolerated by most of the bodies but you may feel decreased sex drive or abnormal ejaculation because this affects the testosterone in the body. These side effects go away with the discontinuation of the medicine.

You may find this medicine as Generic Propecia or brand Propecia. There is no reason to get confused because both have the same ingredient that works against hair fall. This is an FDA approved drug and that is why safe for most of the people. If you miss a dose then there is no reason to take the missed dose with the next dose.

Your doctor would be the best person to tell you the perfect gap between 2 doses that you take. Use the drug wisely to get the best results.
This article has been provided courtesy of www.bestgenericpharmacyonline.com/ Best Generic Pharmacy (www.bestgenericpharmacyonline.com), dedicated to bringing you the highest quality generic medications such as Kamagra at the most competitive prices.

Quite often after going through thinning and lost of hair a person suffers deeply and often becomes mentally down. Though this condition is only temporary, hair loss treatment is readily available for use. Commonly, hair loss does not happen in an instant, instead it comes in a slow but constant rate. It can occur through patches or spreads through out the scalp. A person usually has around one hundred thousand strands of hair on his scalp, but having hair loss problems causes him to lose around a hundred daily.

Hair loss medication can also be prescribed by your doctor along with some usage guidelines. Doctors have been dealing in this field for a long time, so they have seen every possible situation, allowing them to diagnose patients with great accuracy. It is often amazing what you can learn from your family physician without the need to see a specialist; although there are times a specialist will be warranted.

But if your losing your hair is due to some other form of disease that isn't associated with any kind of hormonal or circulation problem then these medications may not be as effective for you. So before you begin taking any prescriptions make sure you know the source of your hair loss problem.

Both these medications were used to treat other different diseases. It was discovered that they can also be used to treat the hair loss condition. After many tests were done, products were released into the market. Minoxidil was the first medication to be released. It is used in the treatment of male pattern baldness. It is claimed to have a large success rate. It was a topical liquid solution that was named Rogaine and Regaine.

Another top licensed hair loss treatment is called Minoxidil. This is a drug that helps to grow back lost hair. It was originally used for high blood pressure, but one of the side effects was hair growth so it quickly became a treatment for baldness. This is not a very effective drug when used alone, but when it is used with Propecia it can be one of the most effect combinations for treating hair loss on the market.

Propecia, or finasteride, is a hair loss medication that is designed to be used by men only. The active ingredient in Propecia prohibits the conversion of testosterone to DHT. The presence of a higher level of testosterone prompts the body to continue growing hair at a normal rate. Some patients who take Propecia experience allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing.

One type of medication is Propecia – the first and only FDA approved hair loss pill. This type of medication works by inhibiting type II reductase in the body. The good part is that it does bring back hair growth on the top and front of the head, but the main setback is that if you quit taking this pill your hair will fall back out again.

You're most likely more familiar with the common term for androgenic alopecia – male pattern baldness. This is the most common culprit behind hair loss in men, by far. Yet so many kinds of medication completely disregard the science behind what causes male pattern baldness, hoping to cash in on and appeal to as many customers as possible.

You'll be paying for this medication for as long as you want to keep the hair. Minoxidil costs about $30 a month. Finasteride is a prescription medication, and the price varies from $60 to over $100 per month-depending on whether you get a generic or brand name, where you have your prescription filled, your health insurance coverage, and whether you order in bulk.

There are tons of medications that will give you hair loss help, but many also cause side effects. However, there are certain ones that will not give you any problems and that will actually work better and keep your hair from falling out. Some of these include simple vitamins and minerals which will help you to re-grow your hair.

Hair fall is a serious beauty concern for many women. The reasons that cause hair fall can be many. Finding the exact cause of is crucial in deciding the appropriate hair fall treatment. Some of the common problems that trigger excessive falling of hair that lead to thinning and baldness are heredity, stress, lack of nutrition, pregnancy and child birth, diseases, side effects of medicines, sudden weight loss, and menopause. Each of these reasons requires a different approach in treating the hair loss.

Hair fall during pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause is caused by the hormonal changes taking place within the body. The reason for hair loss at the time of pregnancy is mainly the lack of nutrients in your food. Since your body’s nutritional requirements are on an increased rate during this time, you need to consume more vitamins and minerals to maintain the health of your body and hair. Most women experience a heavy hair loss after childbirth. The reason is that during pregnancy, your hair is in a resting phase and stops growing.

The level of estrogen hormone is also very high when you are pregnant and that promotes the health of your hair. But, after the baby is born, the level of estrogen suddenly returns to a normal level and the hairs that were in the resting phase and those that had stopped growing start to fall. However, this does not need any particular hair fall treatment. Once the body returns to its normal condition, new hair will grow within six to twelve weeks. A nutritious diet also will also boost the growth of the new hair.

The decreasing level of estrogen causes excessive hair loss during menopause. The best hair fall treatment for women this time period is hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that will replenish the body with the essential female hormones that aid in hair growth and control hair fall. You should also keep away from stress and eat a healthy and balanced diet. A prescribed dose of vitamins and folic acid pills will also be useful.

Hair fall as a side effect of medicines taken for various illnesses and diseases is a common phenomenon. Some medicines and treatment methods for cancer, gout, high blood pressure, heart diseases, and other diseases will lead to excessive hair loss. Thyroid diseases may also cause hair fall. Hormonal imbalances and increased body heat are two major reasons for hair loss in these conditions.

In most of these cases no hair fall treatment is needed as the hair will grow after the treatment. The possible options to manage hair loss during this period can be a short hair cut, using a mild shampoo, brushing with a soft hair brush, using sun screen or hats, and avoiding any contact with chemicals or excessively hot dryers. As with all hair loss therapies, eating a well balanced diet is very important during the treatment period.

Older women have lower levels of female hormones and this can arrest the growth of new hair and cause the existing ones to fall. It is more difficult for new hair to grow with advanced age. However, you can adopt preventive hair fall treatments to avoid or reduce the amount of hair that falls.
The Hair Loss Black Book is a 100% Natural Solution that works for both men and women to Stop Hair Loss and Permanently Re-Grow Your Hair.

Hair Loss in Women Often Causes a Crisis of Self-Esteem

When women lose their hair, it's oftentimes not only their hair that is going down the drain but also their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Hair loss affects men and women, young and old. Although men, too, can have self-esteem issues related to hair loss, for women it is often even more traumatic.

From the time they are preteens, women spend a significant amount of time concerned with beauty — makeup, skin care and, of course, hair. Advertisements glamorize healthy, shiny, lustrous hair. Men talk about their attraction to women with thick, long, brilliant locks. Women spend countless hours brushing, curling, dyeing, conditioning and styling hair. Therefore, when a woman finds herself losing her hair, she can have an intense reaction to the reality of hair loss.

Hair loss and looking old

A major part of why women lose their self-esteem with hair loss has to do with the fact that thinning hair can make them look significantly older — a tremendous worry for most women. The stress of hair loss can cause emotional problems that affect their self-worth, love life, career and more. Women with hair loss can experience embarrassment, anxiety and even depression.

If your hair loss is affecting your self-esteem and your life, find out the cause of your thinning hair and research the various hair loss treatments available.

Pinpointing the cause of hair loss

You might first notice that your hair is thinning when you see a receding hairline or visible differences in hair density when you part your hair. However, because female hair loss is often all over the head (diffuse) rather than in just one area, you may miss the initial signs until you have a significant amount of thinning or find excessive amounts of hair in the shower, in your hairbrush or on your pillow. The first thing that you should do is to consult your doctor to explore the possible causes for your hair loss or thinning. Some types of hair loss may be temporary and reversible with proper diet, nutrition and supplements.

Some common causes of hair loss in women include alopecia, anemia, diabetes, menopause, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), pregnancy, thyroid disease and Trichotillomania (TTM; compulsive hair plucking). Hair loss can also be due to certain types of medication, such as blood thinners, birth control pills and antidepressants. Additionally, chemical treatments (hair dyes, straighteners and perms) can cause inflammation of the hair follicle, resulting in hair loss. General aging, as well, can contribute to hair thinning.

Hair loss treatment options

After you have determined the reason behind your hair loss, you can work on a solution. If your hair thinning is attributed to hormonal causes, you may need hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in order to restore your thinning hair. There are also topical (minoxidil/ Rogaine) and oral (finasteride/ Propecia) medications that might help with hair loss. You may be an appropriate candidate for hair restoration surgery as well. If you would rather just cover up your thinning hair, you can find an array of hats, scarves and head wraps from which to choose. Also, talk to your hairstylist about the best haircut for thinning hair. Perhaps you should consider hair extensions — they can add volume and texture to your hair to reduce the appearance of hair loss.

Psychological recovery from hair loss

Restoring your hair shouldn't be your only concern; you will also need to restore your self-esteem. If the psychological impact of your hair loss has damaged your self-worth and caused significant stress in your life, talk with a professional. A counselor or psychiatrist can help you find ways to reduce stress and learn to love yourself, no matter how thin your hair might be. Although hair loss can seem devastating initially, it doesn't need to cause long-term emotional and psychological damage.
Kori Ellis is a freelance writer who writes about health, beauty, and fashion.

Keep Your Focus on You, Not on Your Hair Loss!

Realize that nobody else is focusing on your hair loss.

Of course your hair loss is a main focus in YOUR life but not in your interviewer's life. “What you've got to realize is that you're having a bigger issue about it than anybody else is,” advises Melissa Galt, life and career mentor. Actually the interviewer is looking for someone with the right experience and the right mix of ingenuity and skills to get the job done. They'll see that in the way you present yourself, in your work samples, and in what you say. They'll see your personality in your smile.

“What I've found,” says life mentor Leyla Hur, “confidence is the biggest 'lack' that interviewees have. It's not a lack of hair. It does not matter what area you have 'issues' with, it will definitely present itself in any interview situation.” Judi Perkins, the How-To Job Coach agrees and advises, “You're simply selling a product and the product is you – if your hair loss is on your mind during the interview then you're only selling your insecurity. And recruiters can smell that a mile away!”

So, how can you rise above your hair loss and let the real you show through?

1.	First of all, decide whether some sort of hair loss treatment is necessary. For men, buzzing down to bald is all the rage, according to the big screen actors like Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Tyler Perry and many more. Some women opt for head wraps and hats of all sorts; some opt for bald like Sheila Bridges, named 'America's Best Interior Designer' by CNN and Time Magazine. Then there are hair systems, hair extensions, and finally wigs – which nowadays are so intricately designed that they look totally natural. “Once you make your choice, stick to it … become it, feel good about it, then forget about it,” exclaims Galt.
2.	Realize your worth. Galt has come up with this great exercise to help anyone realize their true worth beyond their physical appearance. “Create a larger picture of yourself: Make a list of everything about you without using any physical descriptions. You will shortly see that you are so much more than your hair!”
3.	Smile! “A smile is worth 1000 hearts,” says Galt who advises that people are attracted to others who smile. Your personality shows through that way and the interviewer will also see someone who loves what they do and has the confidence to show it.
4.	Focus on others, not yourself. What skills is the interviewer looking for? What can you bring to the position? How will you fit in to the company? “When I worked as a Head-Hunter in Hong Kong, what we looked for was the way an individual carried themselves, the confidence they exuded, and their expertise for the job,” says Hur.
5.	Add a picture to your online profiles and your printed cards and resumes. This way, there will be no surprises when you show up at the interviews and you won't have to worry about how you look – the interviewer already knows how you look, has called you in, and wants to hear about how you can benefit the position!

RESUME BUILDER/INTERVIEW PRIMER: The How-To Job Coach Judi Perkins says a great thing to do is focus on your skills and what you have done for the companies you have worked for in the past. Make a two-sided list: On one side, write down everything you have done positively in your career. On the other side write down how each specifically benefitted the company you worked for. This will boost your confidence and help you sell yourself as a contributor of value to your prospective employer.

If you've accomplished this … you will forget all about your hair loss!
Naomi Mannino is a freelance writer who writes about health, beauty, and fashion.

The average person loses about 100 hairs per day and that's completely normal, there is nothing to worry about. As we count about 100000 hairs on our scalp, losing 100 a day isn't a problem and this doesn't cause any noticeable thinning of the hair.

However, due to various factors, which we will discuss shortly, a person may lose much more than 100 hairs a day. In more severe cases this may even lead to complete baldness within a few months.

Let's have look at the most common causes of hair loss:

* Lack of certain nutrients: Amino acids, which are contained in proteins as well as iron are very important for in order to maintain a healthy and normal hair growth cycle. Poor nutrition is often caused by so called crash diets as well as eating disorders, which in turn may lead to hair loss.

* Prescription drugs: Certain medications may also be the cause of sudden hair loss. That is often the case with drugs to treat depression, arthritis and heart problems. Certain birth control pills may also lead to excessive hair thinning for some women.

* Various diseases, such as lupus and diabetes are often linked to hair loss.

* Chemotherapy and radiation therapy will in most cases lead to hair loss. However, once the treatment is finished, hair quickly starts to regrow.

* Stress: Extreme situations of stress and anxiety are often the cause of hair loss. This kind of hair loss often happens several months after a stressful event, such as a major surgery.

* Hormonal imbalances: An overactive or underactive thyroid gland is in many cases responsible for hair loss. And because of that, various anti hair loss prescription drugs act to stabilize the thyroid gland in order to stop hair loss. An imbalance of the sexual hormones androgen and estrogen may also be the cause of hair loss.

* Many women realize intensive hair thinning several months after having given birth. This form of hair loss is caused by hormonal imbalances during pregnancy.

* Fungus infections of the scalp can also cause hair loss. This may even affect children. The problem however can be easily cured with appropriate medication.

So, as you can see, hair loss can have various different reasons. Some forms of hair loss are only temporary, some can be cured easily and unfortunately others are more problematic and not that easy to cure.

Balancing the Yin and Yang to Treat Hair Loss

Ancient Chinese medicine has an ancient protocol for hair loss issues that begins with optimizing the balance of yin and yang in your body.

When you first start to experience hair loss that takes you by surprise, you may be dismayed to hear about some of the choices of hair loss treatments available: F D A approved medications to take as long as you want to keep hair loss at bay, surgical methods of replacing hair lost, and non-surgical hair systems. But for those of you who are accustomed to trying and using different alternative therapies to treat your health issues, traditional Chinese medicine is worth a try.

Is Chinese medicine for me?

*	I want to try non-surgical, non-pharmaceutical, natural remedies
*	I believe in the ancient wisdom of eastern Chinese medicine
*	I believe in a whole-body approach to my health
*	I am familiar with taking herbs or being treated with acupuncture
*	I rely on alternative therapies for my health issues

How does Chinese medicine work?

Dr. Bong Kim, founder of Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, C.A., explains, 'The yin and yang energies in your body must be balanced otherwise negative health effects can occur. If yang energy is too much, one loses hair — a deficiency in the kidneys can also cause hair loss and both cause 'heat' in the body to rise until hair falls out and does not grow back. Acupuncture helps to get rid of the heat and amplify yin energy in certain kidney meridians. And there is an ancient Chinese herbal formula called Seven Treasures for Beautiful Hair which does the same thing inside the body, but we can add herbs to it specifically for each person's situation.' Chinese medicine practitioners believe that the condition of your hair follicles is directly related to your blood toxicity, so organs responsible for cleansing the blood, like kidneys, will be checked for deficiencies.

What can I expect from Chinese medicine?

A consultation with a Traditional Chinese medicine doctor will likely be interesting to uncover what is causing 'excess heat,' or yang energy, to build up in your body. Dr. Kim says that actually, excesses of anything cause too much heat, especially overeating. 'I have found that hair loss usually corresponds with overeating, so we will work on reducing stomach function to help with hair loss, and we will work to restore balance to your body.' You can take your herbal formula prescription by pill or by tea as prescribed by your practitioner and each formula will be specifically customized for your own personal yin and yang imbalance as well as any deficiencies uncovered in the consultation because, as Dr. Kim says, 'heat only causes more heat.' Anyone with overeating problems will also be counseled on a new, slower, calmer way to eat to further reduce heat to increase the yin energy. Excess amounts of animal fats and proteins along with excess sweets especially can create the heat that rises to the top of the head causing hair to fall out so they will be exchanged for fresh fruit and vegetables which keep the energy inside allowing follicles to hold on to hair roots.

Acupuncturist Robert Luna of Blue Deer Healing in Los Angeles and 'Acupuncturist to the Stars' warns that Westerners typically lack the patience required to see results of natural healing. 'Chinese medicine differs from Western medicine in that we treat the cause of ailments, not just the symptoms.' Luna, himself a graduate of Emperor's College, explains that Chinese medicine 'asks a lot of the patients' but ultimately delivers better, longer-lasting results. 'Even if you promise someone that their hair will grow back if they meticulously take their herbs, change their diet and come in for acupuncture treatments, most would rather take hardcore chemicals like Propecia. But that's the thing about Chinese medicine,' he says. 'The 'doing' and the commitment to your regimen is all part of the medicine.'

Complications Chinese medicine as a hair loss treatment

Inform your practitioner if you are allergic to any specific herbs. If you respond to alternative therapies and follow your practitioner's full prescription for improving your yin/yang energy balance, you should see some noticeable results within 4-6 months along with a noticeable improvement in overall health!

The bottom line on Chinese medicine as a hair loss treatment

This type of treatment works best in those who have the time and patience to follow the practitioner's plan exactly, to provide a whole body approach to their hair loss.

Find a Chinese medicine practitioner

Take your time to interview and consult with several practitioners and ask about their beliefs and experiences solving hair loss issues. Ask about their training and education. Ask for testimonials from other hair loss patients.
Naomi Mannino is a freelance writer who writes about health, beauty, and fashion.
As is the case in many communities, the hair loss community is made up of many subcommunities. A “subcommunity” could be defined by just about any parameter, such as those who live in the Midwest or those who are vegetarians. So if one were to look into the experiences of hair loss community members who are gay, would one find any differences in their experiences compared with those of the larger community?

“Absolutely,” says Nick, a 40-something man who has been bald for a decade or so. “There's a much bigger emphasis on appearance than in the straight community, and for many gay men, hair loss is to be avoided at all costs.”

“Not at all,” says Quinn, 38, who started losing his hair when he was 29 and has since resisted the temptation to spend a chunk of change on expensive hair loss treatments. “Sure, some individuals have a hang-up about it, but so do a lot of women when they're picking and choosing from straight guys.”

A posting on a queer forum turned up a similar difference of opinion from respondents.

“Makes no difference to me, really,” said one post. “I've seen sexy and not sexy men with and without hair and all stages in between.”

“I comb mine over so no one can tell,” said another.

There is more to people than their hair loss.
In general, however, the posts seem to reflect the feeling that hair loss is not as important as general appearance, that is, how the lack of hair fits in with the total overall look. Of even greater importance, however, is the comfort that the person with hair loss feels in “his own skin.”

“Sometimes I really hate it, and sometimes I am totally OK with it,” says Roman Sommers, who is 48 and started losing his hair in his 30s. “It used to bother me a lot more. All men are vain, gay men even more so. I would obsess about it, even have dreams about it. Finally, I told myself, 'OK, this is a test of how shallow I can be about my own looks.' When I thought about it that way, it became much easier to just let it go and be done with the issue.”

“I still get serious attention from some guys,” he continues, “so it's obviously not a deal breaker for everyone. I think any bald guy looks much better when he does not care about it and just keeps a close, clean cut, rather than trying to compensate with some expensive hair loss treatment or a comb-over or a ponytail or hair system or something. Attitude is important.”

However, Roman does mention that “many gay guys are seriously into judging each other's looks. When you're bald, you just know that you've been dealt a weak hand in that regard. You can either let that get under the skin or disregard it as irrelevant. I shoot for the latter. I'm not always successful, but it tends to work.”

Summing up, Roman says, “I think I may have gotten more than my fair share of good things in my life. Whining about my lack of hair seems like tempting fate. It's a cliché to say it about my hair loss, but it is what it is.'”

Nick, who was quoted above as stating that there is a big difference in the way the gay community views a man with hair loss, says, “The gay community is very complex, of course, but I really do think that in general there's much more importance placed on physical appearance. It‘s a stereotype, and it's certainly not true throughout the community, but there's also a reason why so many gay men are hung up on going to the gym every day and on spending a great deal of time and money on wardrobe selection.”

“And it's not solely related to wanting to appear desirable,” he adds, “although that, of course, is a large component. I personally think that there is greater tendency all around to judge people in the community, so many gay men spend a lot of time worrying about how their individual looks are going to be received and interpreted by others, apart from whether they're going to be thought of as sexy.”

Quinn, also quoted above, has another take on the matter. “Everyone talks about gay men being obsessed with their looks,” he says. “Well, I've seen plenty of my straight friends getting ready for a date, and some of them pour it on as much as I do – worse, even. They're just as worried about how their hair (or lack of it) looks and about if you can see their little double chins and if their pants make their butts look big.”

“Look,” he says, “people are people – period. We all have our hang-ups; we all have issues. Yes, yes, yes, some gay men heap scorn on a guy just because he's lost hair. Some others think it's sexy. It's no different than women that dismiss a guy for the same reason.”

“What's important,” Quinn concludes, “and I'm only going to say this once, is accepting yourself. I don't have hair. I wish I did, but I'm not going to let that stop me from looking good. I've found what works for me, and I'm happy with who I am now. I'm bald. I'm gay. I'm a little overweight. I'm me. Get used to it.”
Craig Butler is a freelance writer who writes popular culture.
