The purpose of the site is to promote adidas’ large line of football products 15 different languages across the globe. To develop the project I lead a small team of developers on a tight 7 week schedule to a successfully english only launch with the other 14 languages coming on line in the days and weeks after the original launch.

To support the project we needed to develop a completely new .Net XML driven framework that supported 3 levels of content, global, translated and local promotion. A completely new front end was also developed to be flexible in order to support the different content lengths associated with so many different languages.

I worked on-site most days at the Best Buy HQ in Minneapollis, MN from June 2008 until launch in October 2008.

Working at Best Buy I worked as the tech lead to help bridge the gap between the Best Buy Design and Development team with their offshore developers provided by Accenture. I ensured the end code provided by Accenture was to a high quality and matched the templates we provided them.

During this project I also consulted on the first draft of the hproduct microformat and added it into all Best Buy listing pages.

To this day I still get a kick knowing that everyone who browses a product on bestbuy.com, one of the largest e commerce sites in the world, is using my work.

We even ensured this site would work on a Motorola RAZR.
