If you've been checking out all the latest cake decorating trends and are a frequent follower of Half Baked then you know that the ombre technique is pretty popular right now! After ooing and awwwing over ombre cakes for the past few months, I have been dying to use this technique! I couldn't think of a time more perfect than the month of love to pull out the pink and red food coloring and give it my best try at decorating with gradients.

A majority of the cakes we feature on Half Baked are pretty girly... elegant, feminine and oh-so-cute cakes appropriate for weddings, baby showers and birthdays. Well today's cake is a tad more manly. Literally.... it's the size of an actual man! Standing 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing at least 300 lbs.... this life-size creation is one serious cake! Created by Amanda Oakleaf Cakes for the Arisia Sci-Fi Convention in Boston, this massive cake fed 600 hungry Star Wars lovers. What more can you say about a life-size Stormtrooper Cake than.... let the force {and forks} be with you!
