Some weeks, I don’t even get to write about my food experiences. It’s sad really. I have the blog up, but I’m not sitting down with time to think through what I want to say. The last few weeks have been chaotic for me. I feel good that I have made mostly good choices, but I have not made all good choices.

One of my favorite meals has been the Crabcake Salad at the Loveland Cafe. Tami makes such a delicious meal, I always look forward to the weekend so I might have the opportunity to partake of one. I have been usually eating yogurt & fruit in the morning, with some type of frozen meal for lunch. Those usually run 270-400 calories for the meals. We’ve been good when we eat at home, but we sometimes are too rushed and end up eating fast food, which of course really have very few “good” choices.

My goal is to continually get more intentional about choices. When I take the time to evaluate the decision, rather than react, I usually make a good choice. Pray for wisdom and patience. Ooh, did I really say that?

Oh my gosh! I can’t believe it’s been a week since I posted. Wow! The food situation on average has been good. Some days I probably eat too much, but most days I’m doing well. I feel like it’s getting a little easier to move around, so that’s encouraging. I do want to get to a place to weigh in, so I can get a solid start and it should get me on a stricter, more rigid diet. There’s still a lot of things I let myself do that I want to stop. Like Taco Bell. ugh!

This week should be easier at work, so hopefully I can get back to my normal schedule and better eating habits! Pray for strength!

I’ve been mostly good in the food department, having a few days when I have overindulged at night but it was due to not eating lunch. Bad Don! I need to be consistent about eating regularly so that I don’t get in the habit of large meals. Plus spreading it out is much better for the metabolism.

I so look forward to approaching the gym, we’ve almost got the letter finished and should be sending it soon. there is something about a regular workout that sets the schedule for the rest of the day!

So, it’s been like 4 days since I posted. I hate going so long between posts, but by the time I get home at night, the last thing I want to do is post. I think I am going to have to get in the groove of posting in the morning, I can do that every day except Wednesday.

The week has gone pretty well, we went to Red Lobster on Thursday, and I was bad, but I only had 1/2 the meal and ate the other half on Friday. I’ve been pretty lax on my water, so I need to step that up as well I think. Busy day today, it’s Second Saturday at New Media Cincinnati! I’ll try to post again tomorrow. I am actually excited that I haven’t had any wild binges since I restarted the diet. I did have 1/2 scoop of ice cream Thursday, but that is the only sugary thing I have had in a long time!

Pray for the gym, we are close to approaching them!

Wow, amazing how easy it is to slide. I haven’t gone crazy, haven’t started eating Ice Cream Sundaes, but I feel a little out of control the last few days. Like I said, I might only be 20-30% over calorie budget, but to be honest I just haven’t been paying a lot of attention the last few day and that can be dangerous. Of course, I haven’t actually been weighing in yet, so there’s no real way to tell.

The true course for me is to start being more attentive about what is going into my mouth. For instance, yesterday I had an awesome crab cake salad from the Cafe, and I think it was probably very healthy but I also had a muffin, that wasn’t bad, but it had a dollop of frosting that set the taste of sugar back into my head. For me, once I get sugar out of my system it’s easy to leave it alone, so I need to make sure over the next few days I stay away from temptation to eat even healthy things that might be sweet.

Last night, we went to Paxton’s and I had the club wrap (without bacon), but I had the chili with it. I also forgot that they served it with fries and actually ate 4 or 5 of them before letting Vickie take them away. Neither one is a huge issue, but I kind of felt stuffed last night and I don’t want to get into the habit of eating large meals. I need to spread food out, rather than lumping it together, but sometime life doesn’t work so nicely.

Once again, pray for strength and keeping it in the forefront of my mind. I think we are going to be approaching the gym very soon, so pray that they are open to an agreement.

Wow, two long days. I worked until 9PM on Monday and again tonight. Both nights Vickie had a video shoot, so it’s not too hard a decision to just get some extra work in. It does make a long day though. And I am not yet in the proper habit of eating every few hours, so I ended up eating at weird intervals. I started at 8:30 this morning with a Waffle House Fiesta Omelet. I get mine with no ham and extra mushrooms, so it’s not too bad for me. Because I did not have lunch with me, we grabbed a chicken biscuit for my later. I ended up eating that around noon and Vickie dropped off some goodies around 4 as she went to her shoot. I ended up eating the apple she brought, but nothing else, so we stopped by Wendy’s for the ultimate chicken grill sandwich. It’s a lot of carbs for me, but not too many calories I bet.

Tomorrow should be a lot better because I already have a lunch set out and some fruit, so I’m looking forward to getting back on track with healthy eating. This week for dinner, we had a turkey burger (white meat, no bun) and broccoli and salad. Yum! That’s the kind of food I can really get behind!

I really enjoyed this weekend. The weather was awesome on Saturday and we spent a good part of the day downtown. In fact, we ate dinner at Paxton’s and went over to the Cafe to do some work. While we were there, we had a really nice chat with Tami the owner abd her husband Brian. Later as the night drifted in, so did Jeff the owner of Landen Smokehouse, the BBQ guy from Cindy’s.

I’m still eating out quite a bit, but I am trying to make sure I stay in good food choices and try to keep my calories under 2000. At my size, I should continue to lose even if I get close to 2000 calories. I’m looking forward to the week. I am trying to establish a pattern to my eating, so that I can continue to eat well and make good choices. Pray for consistency and strength!

This is going to be a rough week at work, in that I have a lot to get done. We are moving a website to WordPress and it’s quite complex. I love learning all the nuances though, after this project I can finally call myself a WordPress ”expert”. Pray for consistency this week and for us to be able to get the proposal out to the gym here in Loveland. I’m to the point where I think exercise is going to start to be important. I am also looking for a good place to weigh in so I can track my progress a little more effectively.

It feels great to be back on track again. Yesterday I came in at below 1200 calories for the day. I had fresh fruit, yogurt and some chicken and shrimp. All very tasty. Unfortunately, the chicken was wrapped in a bun, but that was pretty much all the carbs I had for the day. Planning is so important and when we don’t plan, we make iffy choices. I look forward to the day, week and month where I am planning my daily meals and executing that plan flawlessly. It’s a great goal! I was just remembering this morning how well I had started down this path three years ago and I let myself get taken out. Now I am starting the same trek, deeper in the hole and 3 years older. Lord, I need you! Bring strength!

Well, I wasn’t the best kid on the block this weekend. I actually had pizza and chicken wings. I did however try to practice moderation when eating these foods. We were downtown over the weekend at Loveland’s Amazing Race covering it for AllAroundLoveland.com and Saturday was very difficult for me food wise. So, I went with the flow, trying to choose moderation instead of great food choices. In that sense I was pretty successful, although I did consume more calories than I have been for the last two weeks.

The great thing about a weekend like this is that tomorrow I will get right back into my good food cycle. It’s much easier when I am working and on a rigid schedule where I can plan my food and I’m not out around bad food choices. Eventually, I will be able to handle the scenarios like this weekend and had I had the proper food in the house, I would have attempted it this weekend. The funny thing is, I’m actually anxious to get back on the schedule.
