Surface

Ok. Maybe it is just me, but I really don’t see the point of Microsoft Surface. Yes, it is cool technology but as a practical application? No thank you. First of all, I do not like the idea of having a Microsoft designed coffee table. Secondly, I hate clutter on my desk/tables. The idea of having the top of my coffee table look like a bunch of scattered photos is just not that appealing. I like the organization of a database (eg. iPhoto).

I believe this reflects the main difference between Apple & Microsoft. Just compare the implementation of basically the same technology (Multi-touch interface): iPhone vs Surface.’Nuff said.

Why doesn’t Twitter have a search ‘users’ feature where you can put in the email addresses of your friends to see if they have Twitter accounts? Most social networks now have this feature…just asking.

New design

As you can see (if you have been here before) I have redesigned my site (again). Have been playing around with it for a few weeks now. It’s not perfect, but I decided to launch it regardless. I will continue to tweak it on the fly. I figure with the new baby, I wouldn’t have much time to work on it.

Today my new (second) son came into the world. He was born at 5:31pm and weighs 5 lbs 4 onces. Both mother and son are doing well. No name yet. More to follow…

XM vs Sirius

I don’t listen to radio. This is probably due to the fact that I don’t own a car.

I do use Zipcar (great company and excellent service) and when I do drive, I listen to XM radio, which they have in all their cars. I like XM, but don’t love it. I think the choice of music is weak, which causes me to constantly change stations (not a good idea when you are driving).

Last weekend I drove my brother’s car, which had Sirius. Wow! Their programing and channel selection is substantially better. I can’t speak to the quality/range/etc. but the music! Oh man.

And isn’t that what it is all about? The music?

If the merger goes through I hope Sirius is put in charge or programming.
