Halloween London 10th Anniversary at Blueberry Bar, Shoreditch 27/10/12

Halloween 10th Anniversary is going to be on Saturday 27th October at the wonderful Blueberry Bar in Shoreditch.

This 10 year story all started back in 2003 when Halloween was quite a small time thing. Now every year London is rocking with paper-mache pumpkin heads and bed sheets with cut out eye holes – and that’s just the kids trick or treating!

This is party is open to all so feel free to come along and invite your friends too – use the link to the Facebook event to invite your friends.

Don’t forget your costume even if it’s a token gesture. You can find lots of great ideas from past years on this site.

Music will be 80s and 90s chart classics from the Halloween London DJs.

We are delighted to be supporting the Oxjam Islington music festival again this year which takes place on the 12th and 13th October and are suggesting a £3 donation (or whatever you can afford) which will go to Oxfam.

Halloween 9 at The CAMP, Old Street 29/10/11

Halloween 9 took place downstairs at The CAMP, 70-74 City Road, London EC1Y 2BJ on Saturday 29th October 2011.

The event was part of the Oxjam Music Festival which raises money for Oxfam (we supported Oxjam Islington Takeover which took place the week before Halloween on Saturday 22nd October).

Costume highlights included Karate Kid Shower Costume, Ronald McDonald, Ultimate Warrior, Willy Wonka, Colonel Gadaffi, Pinocchio (x2) and several Black Swan ballet dancers. We were also lucky to have the cast of the Beetlejuice stage show in attendance who came in their costumes!

Halloween 8 at Drop East, Commercial Street 30/10/10

Halloween 8 took place at Drop East, 54 Commercial Street.

Costume highlights include Lady Gaga, Super Mario Brothers, Skeletor, Mona Lisa, Queen of Hearts from Alice on Wonderland, Mime Artist and a Ghost Cyclist.

Lady Gaga meat dress costume

This costume was hand made from individual pieces of leather. In terms of workmanship, definitely one of the best costumes on show. It’s a shame we don’t have more pictures.

This chap got caught out at the Elephant & Castle roundabout one day on his way to deliver a parcel. He rode a ghost bike to the party but had to park it outside.

Super Mario Bros. costumes – Mario and Luigi

As you can see Mario refused to wear his moustache for much of the evening. Luigi didn’t need to draw on fake eyebrows.

Skeletor costume from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

Back in the day He-Man and the Masters of the Universe featuring He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Orco and Beast Man (amongst others) was the coolest cartoon in town and Skeletor was the ultimate bad guy.

This rather clever tribute to the Leonardo Da Vinci painting has been given a Halloween blood lust twist – hence the blood around the mouth. Either that or this lady got a bit careless with her make-up.

Queen of Hearts costume from Alice in Wonderland

Based on the Queen of Hearts from the recent film of Alice in Wonderland directed by Tim Burton. His wife Helena Bonham Carter played the Queen.

This costume may or may not be based on the famous mime Marcel Marceau or perhaps someone else?

Halloween 7 at Bar 104, Old Street 31/10/09

The 7th edition took place at Bar 104 on Old Street Roundabout. The bar was drunk dry unless you wanted a quirky drink like Tia Maria and cherryade.

Costume highlights included Optimus Prime (x2 although there was little doubt over which one was better), Poison Ivy, Captain Scarlet, Frank Sidebottom, Gandalf the Grey, Baron Samedi and (Melanie Daniels from) Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds.
