In less than two generations after the arrival of the Spaniards, or by 1600, the greater part of the islands have been successfully converted to the Catholic faith.<br /> Simbang Gabi starts so early because of the experience of the Filipinos under the Spanish Regime. </blockquote><blockquote class="tr_bq">An agricultural country famed for its rice fields and coconut and sugarcane plantations, families then started their day even before the sun would rise. Many farmers (also known as sacadas, campesinos, and casamacs) toiled all day. They only had a break during noon everyday, when the scorching sun would be at its peak. Losing an hour due to the inhospitable temperature, farmers worked very hard and budgeted their time wisely unless they incur the ire of the local encargado, or administrator of the Spanish lord or encomendero / hacendero. </blockquote><blockquote class="tr_bq">In between the planting season and harvest, there is a lull in the back breaking work imposed on the Filipinos out in the fields. Those who are old enough to sustain manual labor are gathered under the "tributo" system whereby they would have to work for free for the Spanish government, where they were tasked to build everything from cobblestone streets, the felling of trees for new government buildings and other projects. The women also have their share of work. Besides tending to their vegetable gardens or tumana, they were conscripted to work as household help for the local political elite.</blockquote><blockquote class="tr_bq">The Filipinos worked non stop in the plantations and homes of the ruling Spaniards. Nonetheless, when the annual Christmas season would begin, it was customary to hold novenas around the entire country. This Act shall be known as the “<b>Anti-Planking Act of 2011</b>”.<br /> <br /> SEC. 2. A&nbsp;universal&nbsp;Code of Student Conduct is hereby prescribed where planking as a form of redress of grievance be strictly prohibited and appropriate sanctions be applied for violations thereof.<br /> <br /> SEC. 3. Under this Act, planking is when a student or group of students lies face down in unusuallocations&nbsp;especially in streets or other&nbsp;public&nbsp;places, keeping the hands along the body and the feet outstretched and especially where such act is meant as a form of redress of grievance against government.<br /> <br /> SEC. 4 Every bonafide student from any school, college or&nbsp;university shall conduct himself with high degree of discipline and propriety.<br /> <br /> SEC. 5. Commonwealth, Quezon City while waiting for our Bus to arrived courtesy of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority(MMDA).<br /> The Bus arrive shortly and as everyone boarded, the bus leave for the site of the activity.<br /> <br /> We arrive at the Ipo Dam at&nbsp; around 9 am and meet by our guides from DENR and prepared ourselves for a boat ride and mountain trekking to reach the tree planting site. time I heard about RH bill, I totally ignore it thinking that it is not relevant for a young student like me. But recently because of the many debates on television and news about the RH Bill I realize that it is involve me and all the Filipinos even those who are not born yet.</div> <div class="MsoNormal"> I am Pro RH bill thought I have limited knowledge about it because I think that it’s about time that we do something about the exploding population in the Philippines because I believe that it is one of the main reason why many Filipinos suffers from poverty. I think that controlling our population will help to ease poverty in our country. I always see parents who have many children and sometime they can’t fully support their family’s needs especially on foods and education. Because of that there are so many children and adults that are malnourished and some don’t have proper shelter so they live on streets and under bridges. there are also many students drops out in school and join gangs and do illegal activities like taking drugs and do petty crimes, some drops out because there parents cant support their education so they married early and make the mistake there parents did. Some of these parents abandon their children or give them away to their relatives because they can’t raise them anymore but they continue on having more children because they don’t know anything about family planning. So I believe that the government should teach them family planning even using artificial method even many religious churches disagree on it. </div> <div class="MsoNormal"> <span>&nbsp;</span>It is also important to educate the youth like me on the reproductive health because there are so many young girl I know that getting pregnant and some of them think that abortion is the solution of their problem, not knowing the danger it will do to them and may lead to their death. There are also many of our youth engage on premarital sex and prostitution because they are not been teaches about sex education properly. I also notice that there are now so many young single mothers who don’t know anything about motherhood and they are not ready to be a mother so they let other people especially relatives to take care of their child. I also see on T.V that Getting pregnant so young is dangerous for their body and might lead to the death of the mother or child or both. So I agree that student in high school and college should have sex education so they will have a proper venue to ask question when they about become curious and not from other people that may might teach them wrongfully. Teaching student about reproductive health issue will help them understand the danger and be responsible of their act.</div> <div class="MsoNormal"> But there are some issues about RH bill that I don’t agree. <span>&nbsp;</span>Many anti RH bill believe that it may lead to the legalization of abortion which I’m totally against. Because I believe that life begins in the mother wombs so killing a fetus is a grave sin.
