Canadian Niagara Hotels Inc. to Build New Hotel Complex Decision brings new jobs, development and tourists to Niagara Falls

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has renewed the lease of Casino Niagara at its current location on Falls Avenue. The lease extension is for an additional 15 years, showing the Provincial Government’s confidence in the future of Niagara Falls. This commitment creates stability and certainty on which economic development and job creation can be built.

Niagara Falls, ON January 23, 2010 — Today brings great news for the city of Niagara Falls and the Falls Avenue Entertainment Complex.

New Jobs For Niagara

“I am excited that we have this opportunity to bring hospitality & tourism jobs into the much needed private sector in Niagara Falls”, said Dino DiCienzo of the Canadian Niagara Hotels.

The 300 room 30 floor Hotel with a Falls view will be the first All-Suites Hotel in the Falls Avenue / Clifton Hill area.

The New Development will be physically connected to Casino Niagara, the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, the Crowne Plaza Fallsview and other Falls Avenue venues including the many restaurants and attractions within the complex. This addition will bring new customers and growth opportunities to the existing businesses in the surrounding Niagara area.

“We will be moving quickly and expect to have shovels in the ground this year,” DiCienzo added. The new hotel is scheduled to open in 2012.

During its construction phase the new development is expected to involve many local construction firms, and other trade workers. Once complete, the hotel will create 250 direct, permanent full-time hospitality & tourism related jobs.

Expressing his support for the project, Niagara Falls Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Kim Craitor stated, “it is now clear that by keeping his promise to maintain two casinos in Niagara Falls, Premier McGuinty has not just saved thousands of local jobs, he has actually helped create even more jobs and investment”.

“Today is a great day for tourism and jobs in Niagara,” Niagara Falls Mayor Ted Salci added.

I am proud to announce that Front Desk Supervisor Courtney McRae has been presented with the Hampton Inn Spirit Award. This award is the highest honour presented to team members of the Hampton chain of hotels and acknowledges staff that go above and beyond to ensure 100% guest satisfaction, and whose performance is truly exemplary.

We nominated Courtney for the Award by submitting an Associate Biography and a Nomination letter that included specific examples provided by guests that captured her hospitable spirit. Courtney was presented with a plaque, certificate, copy of the nomination letter, a bursary and a Spirit of Hampton Lapel Pin to wear proudly.

Thank you to Courtney for setting an outstanding example for everyone at the hotel, and for displaying the Spirit of Hampton.

High Speed Internet Access Improvements

More and more of our guests were using High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) from their rooms and the service was becoming very unreliable a few years ago. So to make a long story very short The Hilton has found a way to provide our own HSIA solution and has been able to integrate it into hotels across the globe including yours very truly! Basically you can always count on us if you need to use your computer from anywhere in our hotel, and honestly with the way the world is right now I think that is a very important amenity for a hotel to provide. When you stay with us you are guaranteed the best internet access in the world!

There is still plenty of time to enjoy warm weather in Niagara Falls, and lots of free things to do as a family, as a couple or just on your own. When you stay at the Hampton Inn by Hilton Hotel there are a few things that can help cut down on costs too, like our free parking, high speed internet in the rooms along with free wireless in the lobby. Best of all we have a complimentary breakfast every morning that that has a great selection of food. Once you’ve checked into the hotel and parked your car all you need to do is walk everywhere you want to go. Walk ten minutes down the road to go see Niagara Falls, you can go for a hike in the Niagara gorge, especially this time of year where the heat is not sweltering or you may want to take in all the sights along Clifton hill . Hope you enjoy your time visiting us!

Table for 12 visits Hampton Inn at the Falls!

The Hayes Family visited Niagara Falls and shares their trip

Watch for the Hampton Inn at the Falls to make an appearance in the TLC family drama Table for 12 next week. The show which follows the daily activities of the Hayes family and their 3 sets of multiples (twins, twins and sextuplets) made us their home while they filmed their season finale in the Falls.

Eric and Betty Hayes and their 10 children between the ages of 4 – 12 spent their time in Niagara taking in some of the most popular attractions in the Falls, and made the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark their first adventure. The kids had a blast at the park and made a lot of new friends.

I was pleased to hear that the Hayes family and production crew loved the hotel and staff, and that they had a great trip due in part to the level of hospitality. Segments filmed in Niagara will air in two back to back episodes on May 18, 2009 at 9:00pm.

Niagara Falls welcomes Spring!

April showers bring May flowers the adage goes, and it couldn’t be in better example than in the parkland surrounding the Falls (and in the gardens out front of the hotel). The Tulips and Daffodils have sprouted and the parks standout in lush green. Spring is a great time to visit the Falls, the sun is warm enough to forgo jackets and boots, attractions are open but don’t face summer crowds for a few weeks, and at the Hampton we get to offer great savings like hot deal rates from $65.00 with breakfast.

Hampton Inn Niagara Falls to Participate in Earth Hour

The Hampton Inn at the Falls will be participating in Earth Hour 2009. We will dim non-essential lighting for one hour on March 28 beginning at 8:30 pm as we join the 2398 cities, towns and municipalities in 83 countries who are marking the event. Our plans include turning off the hotels exterior signage, lobby and atrium lighting will be dimmed, and we will be providing our guests with suggestions on how they can participate during their stay. Earth Hour was introduced last year in Sydney Australia to encourage energy conservation, and the campaign has made an impact on Niagara Falls as most major hotels and attractions are taking part this year.
