HH: Hi Martin, congratulations for winning hamster of the month! How are you feeling now?
MBB: Hi! I feel great! Winning Hamster Of The Month is such an honor! My mommy always said I’m a cute little hamham. I think winning this contest is the first step in my modeling/bodybuilding career.

HH: You mentioned you like getting your owner’s attention. What do you do together during playtime?
MBB: My mommy (well … owner) is so easily impressed by what I do! I just have to act all cute or stand on two legs like a human and she immediately gives me a couple of sunflowers seeds or a small piece of carrot. I like my home. It’s very modern and I have everything I need there but sometimes I want to explore the outside world. I feel the need for adventure. That’s when I ask my mommy to take me outside and play explore. She takes me to these wonderful, huge places she calls living room and office. I run around a bit, then I use a very nice wheel my mommy has. Hmmm … it looks kind of small for her. I think she put it there just for me. I do this almost every evening and I love it. My mommy likes to hug and kiss me sometimes. I don’t like that very much. I’m a man now, not a little boy! But I guess mommy likes it so I give her a little kiss every now and then to make her happy.

HH: You look so strong and muscular! What’s your secret?
MBB: Strong and muscular? Well … I guess I am.  I like to keep fit. I run on my wheel a lot; at least 3-4 hours each day. I also climb the bars in my cage. My mommy says I look like a monkey. She sometimes gets a bit scared thinking I might fall. But I’m always okay. Once, I really scared my mom. I was hanging upside down from the top of my bar cage, with three paws in the air. My mom immediately took me in her arms and hugged and kissed me! lol! I was okay. Just fooling around … Another important factor is my diet. I eat only the best food available and the healthiest treats like carrots, broccoli, lettuce and cucumber. Of course, I eat a small piece of hard boiled egg each week. A bodybuilder like me needs a lot of protein. As for carbs, only the best rice and pasta.

HH: Describe your likes and dislikes.
MBB: My likes: yummy, healthy food, running on my wheel, hanging upside down from the top of my cage, exploring, working out with my pal Arnold, climbing my mom’s bookcase and obviously, posing.
My dislikes: being treated like a baby, having my house cleaned (yeah … I always act mean and grumpy when my mom cleans my house) and, of course, returning to my home if I’m not done exploring.

HH: Anything else you would like to say to our readers?
MBB: I would like to thank everyone who voted for me. I know I’m cute but so are all the other hams in the contest and I wasn’t sure I would win.
Here’s an advice for all my fans: eat healthy and work out daily! You might just become a celebrity, like me!

I have learnt yoga for a while but I am still stuck at the elementary stage. But here is Mario, effortlessly & expertly performing an advanced yoga pose. He really puts me to shame lol

Actually, he was lying on his back and was trying to flip back … and the ‘moment’ was captured because he had a bit of a struggle due to his chubbiness, hehe

Hi HH-sters, sorry I have been missing in action for a while. After my beloved Neko passed away, I did adopt another hamster named Nihlus. He was a rescued ham with several injuries and unfortunately he passed away suddenly & unexpectedly in March T_T Nihlus passed away before I had a chance to showcase his handsome photos for everyone, and I really regretted that. That is why for my new hamster Mario, I want to write about him when he is alive and well. Here’s Mario’s birth certificate. I hope you like it … more Mario updates to come

HH: Hi Izzy, congratulations for winning hamster of the month! How are you feeling now?
IZ: Thank you so much! I am extremely excited to have been given this honor! I just cannot seem to stop smiling! Everyone here at HH is very generous, and I am just so grateful for this! All of the other entries were so great, so I am even more honored to have been voted first!

HH: You stay on a farm in a double bin! What’s it like?
IZ: Well, my momma tells me a lot about all of my different brothers and sisters, but I never get to meet any of them. That’s okay, though, because I prefer to stay on my own. Besides, horses and dogs and cats sound big and scary! And if any mice tried to intrude on my home, they would be in for it! But they make my momma happy, so I don’t mind them- she has plenty of time to give us all attention! And when she’s not playing with me, I have lots of room to roam around in my bin cages. I sleep on the top floor, and the bottom one I use to play and bathe in my sand bath. Plus there is a lot of floorspace, so I can stay very fit!

HH: You entered the contest on the eve of your momma’s birthday.  How did you spend her birthday?
IZ: After she went to school, my momma had a few family friends over… and guess what they played? Cards! Which meant that I got to come out the whole time and greet everyone, too! I didn’t get any of the chocolate cake, though, but my momma did make me my own special dessert out of veggies!

HH: Describe your likes and dislikes.
IZ: As far as food goes, I am a pretty picky eater. I LOVE sunflower seeds and corn, but my momma says they aren’t very good for me, and I don’t often get them. Any type of nuts are pretty good- the ones I’ve tried at least- but those pellets in my food are nasty! I never eat those. I’m not much of a chewer. I nibble on stuff just enough to keep my teeth in nice shape, but otherwise, I don’t want to ruin the furniture in my bins! Why waste perfectly good houses? Besides, if I destroyed all of my houses, it would be harder to get as close to possible to my momma when I want to come out. Usually, I climb to the very highest point in my cage possible and then stand on my hind legs and beg for some time with her! It works, too, because I know she can’t refuse such a cute face!

HH: Anything else you would like to say to our readers?
IZ: I just want to thank you all for being such great hamster owners! I know that I appreciate having such a caring parent, and I’m sure that all of your hammie kids do, too. Just because we are small, doesn’t meant that we aren’t worth a big amount of attention.

HH: Hi Clockwork, congratulations for winning hamster of the month! How are you feeling now?
CW: Oh wow, how am I feeling? I feel like a clock which has just landed on the hour, an alarm is ringing in me, I’m soooo grateful, and I have to thank everyone who voted for me, I didn’t think I had a chance of winning!

HH:  Tell us more about how you come to live with your owner, Hamster_Fellow.
CW: Well, I was in the pet shop with my brothers and sisters, and suddenly a girl looked into my tank. Tons of girls look at me, but not one spoke to me in a calm voice. I ran towards her, but, she walked away. That made me confused. Suddenly, her mum came and replied “So, do you want it?” She was sooo happy! I then got placed in a box, and then placed in a bigggg cage which I love to play in! Hamster is an amazing owner, and she always takes us out to play, and she always rewards us, we grow a special bond with her.

HH: Describe your likes and dislikes.
CW: I loooovveeee yogurt drops, and I love Hamster. Her calm voice, and the sound of her fish tank water really helps me feel comforted. I also like my wheel —even if it does keep the other hamsters in the room awake! I also love tubes,Ii don’t know why, perhaps that’s a place where I feel safe. Secretly I also like my fur, but don’t tell anyone, it makes me sound vain! I dislike loud noises like when Hamster plays the guitar, but she moves into another room for that. I also dislike the ball, I don’t know why. The other hamsters in the room love the ball, but I just hate it. But I don’t worry about that, Hamster always cuddles me instead

HH: Your name is really special. Do you really freeze for a moment and run around the next, all the time?
CW: Awwww, that’s so kind of you! -blushes- yes, that’s how I got the name I freeze in the middle of running!

HH: Anything else you would like to say to our readers?
CW: Well, I have to thank everybody who voted, it’s really made me feel special and loved by the HH community. I’ve never felt so happy. When Hamster told me I won, I was jumping with joy, and she was jumping around! But, I must say, all the other hamsters were ADORABLE, and I think we are all winners -nibbles on a yogurt drop- oh sorry, do you want one? -hands Dusty a yogurt drop-

HH: Hi Toki, congratulations for winning hamster of the month! How are you feeling now?
T: Wow, I am actuallly feeling quite excited. I’ve never won anything big like this before (well of course except my Mommy’s heart) and it’s quite hard to believe. All I can really say is thanks to everyone that voted for me and I really appreciate it!

HH: Tell us more about how you come to live with your owner, hammie_ham.
T: Well to be honest, in my personal opinion, I think it was one of those love-at-first-sight kind of moments. Like once she laid her eyes on my cage and I went running to the glass (its not fun being stuck inside of a tank to be picked on), I knew I had won her heart. It wasn’t just that I was going to a new home, I was going to MY home! I knew I wasn’t going to be just another hamster left to sit in a teeny cage all day and eventually wind up back in another horrid tank to be picked on yet again. Hammie_ham is more than my owner, she is my Mommy!

HH: How do you normally spend your day (or night)?
T: I’m not really up most of the day. If I am, its really early in the morning to tell my Mommy bye as she leaves for school or I’m just getting water because my diabetes makes me get really thirsty. Once the sun starts to go down I get really excited because that means I can play with my Mommy and do all sorts of fun things outside of my cage! Sadly she doesn’t stay up as late as I do so when she goes to bed I normally run on my wheel (sometimes the WHOLE night), shred toilet tissue, or clean my cage myself. Although most male hamsters are known to be messy and sloppy, I am not! I clean up after myself in my free time.

HH: Describe your likes and dislikes.
T: I actually like a wide variety of things. There isn’t really much I dislike…As I mentioned in my entry paragraph, I LOVE my wheel. That’s like the best invention ever! I also really like brocolli! Mmmm, that’s good! I also like pumpkin seeds, but I can only eat one once a month because that’s a part of my diet. A couple of other things I like are a freshly cleaned cage and running in my little ball, even if its pink! =P

Like I said, there isn’t much I dislike. The only thing I can really think of is corn, when people wake me up from a nap, and when people I don’t know very well try to pick me up. I really only like when my mommy picks me up because she is warm and gives me kisses! Oh and I don’t really like eggs…my mommy cooked them for me once, but I didn’t really like it all that much. I don’t know what the fuss is all about, they aren’t even that good. *BLEH*

HH: You mentioned you love your wheel very much, how long do you spend running on it everyday?
T: Hahah! I would roughly say at least 5-6 hours a night. Sometimes I randomly use it throughout the day for about 10 minutes. I’ve gotten so fast! I remember where I used to live before hammie_ham took me home, they didn’t have wheels so I didn’t really know how to use one. Every since she bought me one, I can’t get enough of it!

HH: Anything else you would like to say to our readers?
T: Once again, thank you everyone who voted for me! You all are so kind!
