Boracay Tropics Resort Hotel ( June 2025)

Last June 2-4, 2025, we enjoyed a short vacation in Boracay. After eight years, we were back, and our son, T, now nine years old, could truly appreciate and remember the island. We stayed at Boracay Tropics Resort, and our experience was largely comfortable and positive.

The hotel's accessibility is a major plus; it's easily reachable by public transportation, and the hop-on-hop-off drop-off point is right beside Station X. The beach is a convenient five-minute walk from the hotel. The street is well-lit, the paved walk is clean, and passing by the police station in the area adds to a feeling of safety.

Our room was spacious, and despite the absence of an elevator, a staff member promptly helped us with our luggage. We were also delighted with the welcome drink upon arrival and the complimentary bracelets for the three of us. Our only minor oversight was not discovering the drying rack on the balcony until our last day. Had we known earlier, we would have requested one from reception.

Overall, our stay at Boracay Tropics Resort was very comfortable, and we highly recommend it. We will definitely book here again.

37th Birthday

Today marks my 37th birthday, and we had originally planned a self-photo shoot at MP Diaries. However, due to my son's exam and subsequent school cancellations caused by a storm, we had to reschedule for Monday. Unfortunately, with the exam being rescheduled for the same day, we couldn't make it then either.

Instead, we decided to try Life4cuts photobooth today. For only 200 pesos, we received two physical photo copies, had fun with various props, and even got a digital copy of the photos and a short video.

My enthusiasm for earning GoTyme points reached new heights last year. Every transaction, big or small, became a chance to boost my rewards total. This even led me to explore whether paying our AXA policy with GoTyme would open up additional point-earning opportunities.

As of January 2024, AXA Philippines isn't integrated as a biller within the GoTyme. However, policyholders with GoTyme debit cards can utilize them for online payment through the "Emma by AXA PH" app.

1.To initiate a payment, download the app, select the "Pay online" option.

2. Choose the desired policy, and enter the GoTyme card number. Please note that payments processed through this method will be reflected within two banking days.

Bahay Turo Online Tutorial Review

After months of searching for the right online tutorial platform for my son, I finally found Bahay Turo. Based in the Philippines, Bahay Turo offers a variety of subjects and experienced teachers, making it a one-stop shop for my son's educational needs.

We decided to try their services last November 2023, and I'm so glad we did. The platform offers a free trial class, which was a great way for us to get a feel for the teacher and the learning environment. We chose Math as our subject, and Bahay Turo promptly assigned us a dedicated teacher.

What impressed me most was how the teacher went above and beyond to make my son feel comfortable before the class even started. She introduced herself warmly and asked him some questions about his interests and learning style. This personal touch immediately put him at ease and created a positive learning atmosphere.

The teacher's approach to correcting mistakes was also commendable. Instead of simply pointing out errors, she took the time to explain why the answer was incorrect and then patiently showed him the correct solution. This helped him understand the concepts better and boosted his confidence.

After the successful trial session, we were so confident in Bahay Turo that we booked another class on January 6, 2024, this time for Filipino subject. My son is preparing for his upcoming periodic exams, and Bahay Turo's personalized tutoring has been invaluable in helping him solidify his understanding of the material.

I also want to mention the excellent customer service at Bahay Turo. The customer service representatives are always friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to any questions or concerns I have. They make the entire experience seamless and stress-free.

My child has been begging me to let him play in Sairam Playland Novaliches branch. But I was hesitant because of the virus that he could get in the play area. However, I was relieved to know that despite the relaxing health protocols, Sairam Playland still maintains healthy hygiene. I even brought him to Kidzoona SM Fairview last year when he insisted on playing in Sairam. That branch has a smaller Kidzoona area and the entrance fee is PHP 250 pesos.

But recently, we decided to let him play in Sairam Playland, and I was shocked to see that this area has a wider space compared to Kidzoona SM Fairview. It was well-lit and clean. T really enjoyed roaming around. For only PHP 350 pesos, you can play for 1 hour with free entrance for a guardian. Don't forget to bring your own sock though they sell socks it's much better to bring one.

I am glad that we decided to let T play in Sairam Playland. He had a lot of fun, and I felt safe knowing that the play area was clean and hygienic. I would definitely recommend Sairam Playland to other parents.

Ninoy Aquino Park and Wildlife 2023

Yesterday, we visited the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center. We had originally planned to visit the La Mesa Eco Park, but it was already closed. The guard said that the park is open from 6 AM to 3 PM on weekends, so we decided to go to NAPWC instead. The park entrance fee is still the same as it was in 2019 (our last visit before the pandemic). PHP 30 for adults and PHP 15 for children, free for children 7 years old and below and senior citizen. For foreign visitors the entrance fee is PHP 100.

We noticed that the aquariums are no longer there, unlike before. Perhaps they have been moved to another area. The rest of the park is still the same. It is well-maintained. However, there are no food concessionaires inside, so you have to bring your own bottled water and food, or buy them outside

We strolled around the park, enjoying the tranquil scenery. We enjoyed watching the birds while T enjoyed picking up sticks and stones. Some families brought tents and picnic mats. If you do the same, please make sure to clean up the area and dispose of your trash properly in the trash cans.

Papa John's Pizza Makers Camp 2023

My son joined a pizza making camp by Papa John's. I saw the ad on Facebook inviting kids to join the workshop for only PHP 399, which included loot bags, aprons, pizza, and a drink.

We chose the Visayas Avenue branch since it was near our area. It was his first time to join a pizza making camp. The camp was held on May 24, 2023, starting at 10:30 AM. I thought there would be only a few participants, but in total, there were 9 kids who joined.

At first, my son wanted to go home, but as the camp started, he started to listen and enjoy the process of making pizza. He even enjoyed chatting with the other kids. There was already a pre-made dough and toppings, and the kids also entered the kitchen area where they were guided to put the pizza in the oven. Overall, he enjoyed the camp and we will definitely join another one soon.

Visiting Baguio After 26 Years

After 26 years we finally visit Baguio. I was only 9 years old when we first visit the city.

We stay in Baguio Chateau de Gutierrez. The Chateau offers a homey and relaxing stay in Baguio, the place is huge and best for large group. With 4 rooms and 3 toilet and 2 bath this will be definitely a best deal. The place is also surrounded with plants and pine trees it really has a cozy vibe. Better use google map to locate the place it was near Good Sheperd they even have 1 garage to park your car. If ever you commute according, to the taxi driver that area called Cuneta compound. Anyway Baguio Chateau is located in Gribaltar Road. See photo below of rooms and amenities. The caretaker is friendly and accommodating if you need anything don't hesitate to ask him. My brother found this gem in airbnb, there's a lot of accommodation to choose but we chose this because it has 3 toilet (no more waiting around) and the room are spacious . Though during the time we visit which is August 2022 the weather is rainy and gloomy so most of the tourist spot is not jampacked with people. I think this is the less fave month for some but according to the local this is the best time since you don't need to queue in restaurants or you can take photo in tourist spot with no crowd in the background. We just rented a van to tour the city for the wholeday. My brother ask Joven (the caretaker) to help us book for tours. The itinerary is depend on us. Since it's my father and husband first-time we choose the usual tourist spot that near in the area.

DIY Shoemaking Workshop by Munting Sapatero

Last February 11, 2023 my son attended Shoemaking workshop by Munting Sapatero. I have been following Munting Sapatero page since last year because of their shoemaking DIY kit and they also held a private workshop. That's why when they announced that they will be having a shoemaking workshop this year I didn't hesitate to let Tariel joined. And the face to face workshop suited him since he's thriving when he is with other kids.

The workshop held in Taty Manila in Marikina City from Novaliches we ride a Grab car since we are not familiar of the area but it happens that the place is accessible to public transport.

The kit contain history of Marikina shoe industry, leathers, contact cement, scissors and facemask. Ms. Honey Leal who is also the owner facilitate the workshop by explaining step by step process that easily follow by the kids. Also explaining the brief history of Marikina shoe industry and why the owner of Munting Sapatero started making DIY kit is to introduce in to the younger generation.

I just want to share where I consult whenever my anxiety attack or if I just want someone to listen to me aside from my husband since I don't want him to burden with my problem and worries though I share my problem to him I don't want to it frequently.

Good thing Konsulta MD has a chat option for Mental Health Consultation it was a big help. Konsulta MD is my go to everytime I need medical consultation. They offer package so check it out and download the app.

The only downside is if you want a reply asap it will takes a minute there's a 10 min interval in chat maybe avail the video consultation option so you can have the conversation with the psychologist right away. If you are like me that prefer a chat then this one is good for you since not all people is comfortable even in video call I remember my other session with another provider I put in the remarks that I prefer a chat but the psychologist insist that I should show my face so even I don't want to I don't have a choice. The psychologist speak in english even I speak in filipino she answer me in english I begin to felt awkard because I can express myself freely if I speak in filipino.

That's why even they email me for the second session I decided to end it.

I can't believe how fast time flies. Many things happen for the past month there are times that I can manage my anxiety but most of the time I over think and end up panic because I feel overwhelmed. I consult a psychologist and they always told me to start Journaling (different psychologist with same advice)

So I decided to post my recap this 2022 in this blog. It's been a year since I last post here.

JUNE

My husband and I decided to take TDC (Theoritical Driving Course) it's one of the requirements by LTO before you get your Driver's license

JULY

Practical Driving Course (PDC) after finishing TDC I enrolled again in driving school for PDC this time. I'm already done for this course. I can still remember my first time I drove a car it's really exciting but at the same I'm nervous because I don't want to make some mistakes anyway I drive Manual Transmission car.

I also got sick after my practical driving. We suspecting that I got this while I'm practicing driving because this is the only time that I go out everyday. Good thing I only have to be quarantined for 7 days unlike last year we have to be Isolated for 14 days. Below is the food that my husband cook for me and the result from my antigen test.

And after so many years we updated T vaccines. He's already 6 years old and it's not too late. I also got new specs! This is my first time to wear and I'm glad it's compliment my face shape

Ataalaya Farmhouse (Alitagtag, Batangas)

Last December 2021 my family stayed in Ataalaya Farmhouse for overnight. The place is breathtaking and serene. My brother booked this place via airbnb.

The Ataalaya is like a retreat place this is our first out of trip since pandemic started. Ataalaya also cater as a venue for private event I even saw in other blog that some use their place as a ceremony venue for wedding. Not surprising because the place is really beautiful. What you can do this quiet and serene place? literally all you have to do is to relax, do nothing and enjoy the panoramic view of Taal lake and Mt. Maculot while dipping to their outdoor jacuzzi tub or visit their farm.

For food you can bring your own or have it deliver, we choose the latter since we want to relax but you can request the staff to cook for your group for a fee. For breakfast they served it outdoor in lanai. take note that the staff is on stand by except at night so if you have concern or request don't be shy to ask them

Ataalaya Farm is Located in Alitagtag, Lipa Batangas. 3 hours ride from Quezon City.

50k PHP worth Church Wedding (No Entourage)

Is it possible to have a Catholic wedding on a budget of 50,000 pesos? Yes, we did. Our original plan was to have a civil wedding, but after reading some wedding forums, I discovered that there is a wedding rite for Catholic weddings where you can have a church ceremony without an entourage, just the ceremony itself.

To give you some background, when my husband and I decided to have a simple wedding, we tentatively booked our chosen dates at Manila Cathedral. Manila Cathedral offers wedding rites for as low as 5,000 pesos, but the ceremony will not be held at the main altar. This was fine with us since we only had a few guests. Unfortunately, we missed the seminar because we had to work on the scheduled day, and they only notified us a day in advance. So, we let go of Manila Cathedral and booked the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in MBS, Caloocan City. I was baptized in this church along with my siblings, so it's close to my heart. Another reason we chose this church is that they offer wedding rites ceremonies, which not all parishes do. I tried inquiring at other churches, but they only offered complete packages. So, I suggest you check with your local parish near your place. They might be offering wedding rites.

Another thing to note is that we only had 20 guests, including the photographer and his assistant. We didn't have a program after the ceremony; we went straight to the venue to eat. It really comes down to you and your husband and what you want for your wedding. After all, it's all about what you really want and what suits your personality.

Staff are friendly and approachable we had a pool-view room which is highly recommended since the view is stunning especially at night.Take note that the hotel lobby is along casino so the entire hall smelled cigarette.

And since we're celebrating wedding anniversary they gave as a complimentary cake and a sweet note. We really appreciated the sweet gesture.

How Are You?

It's been almost two month since Community quarantine started, well, my daily activities doesn't really change from what I do everyday except for the fact the we are complete here in the house together with my husband who now work from home from the mean time. I just noticed that we eat a lot and consumed more foods from the usual day.

Also reading newsfeed in social media is really draining and just giving me anxiety so as much as possible I refrain reading news I just watch news for few minutes then do something else like readintg story in wattpad, playing with my kid and husband or watch random videos in YouTube.

I just hope that this pandemic will end soon since many families are affected specially those people who depends in daily wages. I also hope that you also doing fine. Stay at home and keep safe.

Bored? Are you looking for something to do inside the four corner of your house? Then maybe you have to do this for a change.

Delete and unsubscribe to unimportant emails- maybe your inbox has already a thousand of email that you didn't bother to open for years. Or a spam of emails that doesn't interest you. This is the best time to unsubscribe and delete those pile of emails.
Write down and save all your password in a notebook - I know some people saving their password on phone. But I think it's much safer if you have hard copy too in case your computer or mobile phone can't be access.
Read books from different Genre - Not into Rom-com? Why not try to read for a change. Sometimes we didn't know we enjoyed reading it without giving it a try.
Re-arrange your bedroom- Have you ever sleep right next to the window for the past three years? Why not change the position of bed and furniture in your room it's not only practical but also therapeutics since you will see what to improved once you organize the clutter.
Watch Documentaries- Documentaries are eye opener and has inspirational value.

Flower Power

My mom turn 60 last month and I decided to give her a bouquet and while browsing at the net I found flowerstore.ph they have a lot of flowers to choose from and it's affordable. Upon seeing the bouquet delivered I can't help but to mesmerize to it's beauty. That's why I requested to my husband to buy me the preserved flower.

I might say that the bouquet is much better than the preserved flower. As you can see at the photo the preserved flower lost it's one studs I even look after it in between roses but I can't find it. Overall, I can say it's a good surprise for the one you love even there's no celebration.

How to Set an Appoinment to SSS online?

Yes, you read it right. You can now set an appointment to SSS online. I made it twice because on my first appointment I lack some documents. And this is really helpful for anyone who don't want to queue in line for hours.

1.First you must register in SSS online and open the My.SSS Beta, you can see that at the lower part of log-in page

2. Click Electronics Services

3. Then Click Branch Appointment

SSS Branch Appointment

4. Click the drop down menu for 'Select Appointment Purpose', then Region and Servicing Branches.

5. Select a date and time then click submit. Wait for the confirmation email and then print. (The info desk suggest that I should print the confirmation email.) Also make sure to double check time and Servicing branch to avoid mistake.
