This weekend marked the first round of voting in the French Presidential elections. The final round takes place in a couple of weeks, after which we will know who the new President of France will be!

I don’t get a vote – non-French citizens (even EU citizens) can’t vote in Presidential elections – but I am obviously interested, since the elections will have an impact on me while I live here. As a gesture of support, this week’s moodboard flies the tricolore. (And you will notice the theme developing in a couple of weeks, no doubt!)

Checkered, chequered, checked. Chequed? One of the downsides about selling on a US-based website like Etsy is that my ability to spell is deteriorating. There are times – and the c-word is one of them – when I can’t tell which is an American spelling of a word, as opposed to a UK spelling, and when in fact I just can’t spell. I have a feeling none of the above is actually the right word, but the items below were so cute, I didn’t want to let that stop me today!
