Never point a firearm at anyone or anything you do not intend to shoot whether or not it is loaded. This is particularly important when loading, unloading, or field stripping
the gun. ALWAYS control the direction of the firearm.

ALWAYS TREAT EVERY FIREARM AS IF IT IS LOADED
AND WILL FIRE. Do not take anyone’s word that the firearm is unloaded – always check for yourself. Never pass your firearm to another person until the cylinder or action is open and you visually check that it is unloaded. Keep your firearm unloaded and safely stored when not in use.

NEVER PLACE YOUR FINGER INSIDE THE TRIGGER
GUARD OR ON THE TRIGGER UNLESS YOU INTEND TO FIRE. Ensure that other objects do not touch the trigger.

ALWAYS BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
Always be sure of where the bullet will strike and shoot only where there is a safe back stop free of obstructions, water or other surfaces which can cause ricochets. Be sure your bullet will stop behind your target. Bullets can glance off many surfaces like rocks or the surface of water
and travel in unpredictable directions with considerable velocity. Do not fire randomly into the sky.

NEVER CROSS OBSTACLES SUCH AS FENCES OR STREAMS WITH A LOADED FIREARM.
Always make certain your firearm is unloaded before crossing a fence, climbing a tree, jumping a ditch or negotiating other obstacles.

SAFE GUN HANDLING IS YOUR PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY AT ALL TIMES.
Firearms are dangerous and can cause serious injury or death if they are misused or used inappropriately. Safety must be the prime consideration of any one who owns or handles firearms. Accidents are the result of violating the rules of safe gun handling and common sense.
Firearm safety training is available. Contact your firearms dealer, law enforcement agency, local sportsman’s club, etc.for availability.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FIREARM AT ALL
TIMES. In owning a firearm, you must undertake full-time responsibility for your firearm’s safety and security. You must protect yourself and all others against injury or death from misuse of the firearm 24 hours a day.

FIREARM SECURITY IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
You must secure firearms safely from children and/or unauthorized users. Your firearm should always be kept unloaded and locked when not in use. A lock has been provided for this purpose.
Never assume that the use of this lock is sufficient to safely secure your firearm. You must always evaluate your personal situation and employ the security systems that meet your needs and prevent children and unauthorized users from gaining access to your firearm.

Other topics :
safe Shooting
Safe Gun Handling
Learning To Shoot : Woman Are Usually Easier To Train Than Man

Subscribe in a reader

STI HISTORY

WE'VE BEEN THERE

VIEW STI BUY PROGRAM 2008

In the 1980's the founder of STI, Virgil Tripp, was hand crafting competition 1911 pistols using basically the same components and techniques of other gunsmiths of that era. Because of the need for product improvement, Tripp Research Inc., now STI International, led the firearms industry into the precision world of "EDM" hammers, sears, and other components.

From this highly successful line of precision components, STI then pioneered the "modular" frame which provided a multitude of desirable features such as a 30 lpi full checked grip assembly, 25 lpi checkered trigger guard, 35% weight reduction, less felt recoil, higher capacity, and repeatable dimensions. Then STI introduced complete pistols of such quality they quickly became the standard by which other I.P.S.C. firearms and fine "carry" guns are measured.

Now STI leads the industry again with precision subassemblies in progressive stages of factory completion. Its ruggedness and reliability are legendary. The large gas piston, generous clearances between moving parts, and tapered cartridge case design allow the gun to endure large amounts of foreign matter and fouling without failing to cycle. This reliability comes at the cost of accuracy, as the looser tolerances do not allow the precision and consistency that are required of more accurate firearms. Reflecting Soviet infantry doctrine of its time, the rifle is meant to be part of massed infantry fire, not long range engagements.

The notched rear tangent iron sight is adjustable, and is calibrated in hundreds of meters. The front sight is a post adjustable for elevation in the field. Windage adjustment is done by the armory before issue. The battle setting places the round within a few centimeters above or below the point of aim out to about 250 meters (275 yd). This "point-blank range" setting allows the shooter to fire the gun at any close target without adjusting the sights. Longer settings are intended for area suppression. These settings mirror the Mosin-Nagant and SKS rifles which the AK-47 replaced. This eased transition and simplified training.

The prototype of the AK-47, the AK-46, had a separate fire selector and safety. These were later combined in the production version to simplify the design. The fire selector acts as a dust cover for the ejection port when placed on safe. This makes it easier to carry the AK-47 through difficult terrain because the operator only has to safe the firearm, and does not have to remember to close another latch to protect the operating mechanism.

The bore and chamber, as well as the gas piston and the interior of the gas cylinder, are generally chromium-plated. This plating dramatically increases the life of these parts by resisting corrosion and wear. This is particularly important, as most military-production ammunition during the 20th century contained corrosive mercuric salts in the primers, which mandated frequent and thorough cleaning in order to prevent damage. Chrome plating of critical parts is now common on many modern military weapons.

View Updating about price, accessories, ammo and licence is here
AK-47 ONE STOP SHOP
AK-47 RUMANIAN

Subscribe in a reader

Gas Station Theft- Prevention Tips

Recently, there has been increased media coverage across the country regarding theft at gas stations. The unique setting allows thieves to catch their victims by complete surprise — when they are pumping gas or paying their tab inside the station. Most of the time, gas station customers leave their car doors unlocked and items like purses and wallets are often left in plain view. A thief is able to drive up next to the victim's car, open an unlocked door, and grab any valuables within reach. Then, the thief quickly drives off. It happens in a matter of seconds.

But these thefts can be easily prevented if the appropriate precautions are taken. NCPC and the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia recommends the following tips to prevent citizens from becoming victims of theft at area gas stations.

>Pick stations that are well-lit and have video surveillance cameras at the pump.
>Always remove your keys and lock the doors while you are pumping gas.
>Keep valuables out of plain view in your vehicle and lock the doors even if you are going inside
for a moment.
>Pay attention to your surroundings.
>Don’t let your cell phone distract you.

<span style="font-style: italic; Holsters come in different shapes and sizes that serve for different occasions and purposes. There are many holster brands in the market today but the most trusted name in gun holsters is Galco holsters. Galco holsters are well-known for their high-quality materials that perfectly fit any kind of firearm. The best thing about these holsters is that they are made from the finest leather materials, which means it won't go out of style even is used for several years.

So how does one choose among the huge collection of different Galco holsters? A tip in finding the perfect holster would be to check how tight a gun fits in the holster. A person should make sure that the holster isn't in any way loose to avoid the gun from falling off, which might cause serious accidents. When choosing a holster, another tip is to make sure that the holster is specifically made for the type of gun that a person has. This would ensure that the gun would fit perfectly in the holster. The Galco line has a comprehensive collection of holsters available for different gun types even for rare models, so firearm owners would not have any difficulty finding a holster for each of their guns. Most of them are molded and design to specific firearms so users can simply pick the holster that corresponds to their gun type.

Firearm owners should choose holsters without too much straps that may slip inside the holster and accidentally touch on the trigger. Choosing Galco holsters with less straps is a highly advisable tip especially to those gun owners who have kids who might accidentally play with the holsters. This type of holsters from Galco is also highly recommended for policemen since these gun holsters can hold the firearm firmly especially during nerve-wracking, action-packed operations. Aside from not picking a holster with too many straps, another tip is by picking the holster with lesser details. The rationale here is that the more the details, the more complicated the holster is.

Considering the design is another step in selecting a good holster. Ideally, a stylish holster can conceal the firearm nicely. Holsters are sometimes inconvenient to carry since they are way too bulky. However, if the design is right and the fit is closer to the perfect fit required by gun owners, then the carrier will not have worries of bulges on his pants' side. Galco holsters have a wide range of concealment holsters that include side belt, back belt, and slot holsters that cater to every gun owners needs. As with the color of the holsters, the best tip is to stick to the basic hues for holsters such as solid black, dark brown, tan, white, and maroon. There are some high ride, paddle, and fletch holsters that have the combination of these colors so people can pick one the suits their taste.

After searching for the perfect holster, another factor that one has to consider is the price of the product. Good thing is that, though Galco holsters are made from top-quality leather, their prices are surprisingly affordable. To get the greatest deals out of these holsters, an interested buyer should canvass the prices first both on online and land-based shops. Checking the Internet and visiting different shops is advisable to check both the quality and the quantity of the holster. The advantage of buying a holster on the web is that a person will only surf through various websites and can get the different price ranges by merely clicking his computer mouse. However, the drawback here is that one has to fill-out necessary forms before he can purchase the said product, and he has to wait for several days for the shipping. If the person is really meticulous with the holster's quality, he must therefore go to shops and boutiques that sells such Galco products. One should arm himself with the knowledge about leathers and holsters to pick the best type out of the many varieties available. But if the person has little knowledge about gun holsters, asking the advice of his friends or even the shop owners is necessary.

As with any other things that have direct relationship with firearms, two vital factors that a person needs to consider in choosing among the wide range of Galco holsters are safety and comfort. For sure, nobody wants to carry a holster that is heavier than his gun, and at the same time, no person will buy a holster that will carry his gun the other way around. Familiarty with your guns basic parts and how they function is a prerequisite for safe shooting. Know how to open and close the action, for example, and how to remove ammunition .

>Don't depend on the safety. This may be the cardinal rule of safe shooting. remember ,the safety is a mechanical device and it can malfunction. Yhe safety is not a replacement for safe handling and shooting practices.

>Make sure gun and ammunition match. If there is any question about compatibility between shot shell and gun , don't fire!! The gauge of the shell must match the gauge of the shotgun. The gauge of the gun is likely to be stamped on the barrel. The gauge of the shell will be indicated on the box, and on each shell.

>Don"t carry shell on mixed gauge. Whenever you're through shooting, immediately remove unfired shell from your clothing. It's a good way to avoid mixing ammunition.

>Be sure before you shoot. If you're not absolutely certain that you've identified your target, don't shoot!! And be equally aware of what's beyond your target. If it's another person, or an object that shouldn't be hit --no matter how far-- don't shoot!!!

>Protect your eyes and ears. guns make noise. Noise affect your hearing. Guns also emit debris and gases that can injure your eyes. Ear protectors and safety glasses are a must.

>If your senses are impaired , don't go shooting !! Among the world's worst combinations are firearms and drugs.

>Don't run the risk of a clogged barrel. barrel obstructions can cause gun bursts. If you've stumled and jabbed the barrel into the ground, or crawled to surprise tour quarry, unload and check the barrel for mud or snow.

>Don't rest your gun on your feet to keep out of mud or snow.

>If your fire arm fails to fire correctly , PAUSE , do not open the gun right away. Give it 30 plus seconds, primers can and do delay fire, this is known as "hangfire".

>Never Look down the barrel of a loaded firearm. Some jurisdictions limit the magazine capacity on handguns to 10 rounds, largely negating this advantage in these places.

Faster to reload: magazines are easier to use and more ergonomic to carry than speedloaders, although magazines are slower and more difficult to load than speedloaders.

Easier to conceal in certain circumstances due to the flatter profile - there is no cylinder creating a bulge.

Lower felt recoil: semiautomatics typically have a lower bore line, which reduces muzzle climb, and the slide absorbs some recoil energy that would be transferred to the shooter in a revolver.

Flash and noise can be suppressed. (Noise and flash suppressors are ineffective in most revolvers due to noise and flash escaping the gap between the cylinder and the barrel.)

Less expensive ammunition: semiautos often fire standard military ammunition, which is more readily available and cheaper.

site support:

Subscribe in a reader

Beginner's guide for revolver's

Among the plethora of handguns available on the market today, the revolver still has a place among those seeking a mechanically simple and easy to manipulate firearm.

Why? They are easy to load, easy to sight and easy to shoot depending upon the frame size and require no other accessories or safeties in place of the simple fact that you open the cylinder and load the bullets into each chamber, close the cylinder and are ready to start shooting.

In the evolution of handguns, the revolver was the first "repeating" handgun dating back to the mid 18th century based upon the design of Samuel Colt who got his idea for a repeating "revolver" while working as a young sailor and watching the "wheel" on a sailing ship. He designed a "cylinder" mounted in frame that could be turned and that contained self contained charges including the "bullet" and the "charge" fired using a "primer".

About the turn of the last century these "self contained"cartridges and handguns had evolved through technology to become the modern revolvers today.

Many modern revolvers are classified according to their "frame size" by modern manufacturers like Smith and Wesson.

Here is the run down of the current and most popular S&W revolver frame sizes:

One of the most popular frame sizes and top sellers for Smith and Wesson is the "J" frame size. This frame size is generally limited to .22, .32, or .38 caliber size cartridges (although some revolvers are chambered in .357 magnum caliber):

click to price review
One step up from the "J" frame size is the "K" or medium size frame revolver. This size generally holds a cylinder that holds 6 shots in either the .38 special or .357 magnum caliber. This is one of the oldest frame sizes that began around 1899 with the introduction of the S&W Model 10.

The next frame size is the "N" frame size that holds essentially the same number of bullets as the "K" frame, but generally cartridges of even greater caliber including the .44 special/magnum, .45 caliber revolver/ACP cartridge.

click to price review

There is one larger frame size and the newest--the X frame designed to chamber the .460 and .500 S&W cartridge. These revolvers are designed to shoot cartridges that are achieving "rifle like" performance bullets for handgun hunting and sillouette shooting.

click to price review

The design of the revolver will continue to be among the "top selections" of handguns for personal defense, hunting and recreational shooting.

<span style="font-weight: bold; Never point the muzzle at any person, or a animal or object you don't intend to shoot. the safest directions : upwards, or toward the ground (but not toward your foot).

2.Keep your finger off the triger. Fight the natural tendency to put your finger on the trigger when you hold shotgun. If you must curl it around something, use the trigger guard. Form follows function in a symphony of smooth, sweeping curves made possible by the use of modern high-strength techno polymers.

Beretta's use of cutting-edge materials also keeps weight down to just 53/4 lbs., making the Cx4 a pleasure to carry, whether in the field or on duty. Five different models accept full-size Beretta magazines from the 92/96 and Cougar series pistols in 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 Auto, including large-capacity restricted and pre-ban styles. The cold hammer-forged 16.6-inch barrel is chrome-lined for long life and corrosion resistance with any ammo.

Hard mounting poiints allow the addition of various accessories, including side, top and bottom "Picatinny" rails. these will accept optics, tactical lights, lasers and vertical grips. One side rail is included. The front post sight is adjustable for windage and elevation, while the rear sight has long range and ghost ring apertures. Both sights are protected by rugged "ears" and may be folded down when optics are used.

The Beretta Cx4 Storm semiautomatic carbine is a sporting or personal defense firearm with a particulary captivating appearance and simplicity of use. If you pop a balloon with a pin, it will make a loud noise. But if you were to untie the end of the balloon and let the air out slowly, you could pop it making very little noise. That is the basic idea behind a gun silencer.

To fire a bullet from a gun, gunpowder is ignited behind the bullet. The gunpowder creates a high-pressure pulse of hot gas. The pressure of the gas forces the bullet down the barrel of the gun. When the bullet exits the end of the barrel, it is like uncorking a bottle. The pressure behind the bullet is immense, however -- on the order of 3,000 pounds per square inch (psi) -- so the POP that the gun makes as it is uncorked is extremely loud.

A silencer screws on to the end of the barrel and has a huge volume compared to the barrel (20 or 30 times greater). With the silencer in place, the pressurized gas behind the bullet has a big space to expand into. So the pressure of the hot gas falls significantly. When the bullet finally exits through the hole in the silencer, the pressure being uncorked is much, much lower -- perhaps 60 psi. Therefore, the sound of the gun firing is much softer.

Note :
Price and manufacrure review of Silencer Device

Other topics :
The Silencer

Subscribe in a reader

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/HandgunsProductAndInformationSite/~3/duUC7NKjXYc/gun-silencer-how-does-it-work.html" title="Gun Silencer. Machine guns are known as automatic weapons because they automatically eject spent rounds of ammunition and reload fresh rounds. The user of a machine gun can fire a constant and rapid stream of ammunition merely by depressing and holding the trigger. (In contrast, a semiautomatic weapon also expels and reloads rounds, but the user must pull the trigger each time in order to fire a round.) Almost all machine guns use the energy released from the ammunition as it is fired to expel, reload, and fire ammunition. Some types of large machine guns, such as those used on fighter aircraft, are powered by motors.

Machine guns come in many sizes and fire small through intermediate-sized ammunition (5 to 40 mm in diameter). A machine gun can fire automatically for long periods of time but usually requires a way to cool its heavy barrel, which quickly heats up from firing. Early machine guns used air or water cooling, but these guns were often heavy or bulky. Many modern machine guns feature replaceable barrels, which can be changed when the barrel becomes overheated.

A common misconception is that the Russian AK-47 and the American M16 assault rifles are machine guns; they are more correctly called automatic rifles (see Small Arms). Both automatic rifles and machine guns can fire repeatedly when the user holds the trigger, but automatic rifles are much lighter than machine guns and are not designed for continuous firing. Also, automatic rifles use small clips of ammunition that hold only 20 or 30 rounds whereas machine guns use large magazines of up to 200 rounds or long belts of ammunition for continuous firing with minimum reloading.

Machine guns, as well as other automatic weapons, work by automatically expelling spent rounds of ammunition and reloading fresh rounds so that constant firing can be maintained. In order to accomplish automatic firing, a sequence of events takes place. First, a fresh round is inserted into the firing chamber, at the end of the gun barrel near the trigger. The breech, or gap, containing the round is sealed or locked in place. When the trigger is depressed, a pin strikes the back of the round, igniting the gunpowder in the round and propelling the bullet through the barrel. Once the round is fired, the breech is unlocked, the spent round is extracted from the firing chamber and ejected from the breech, and a fresh round is then inserted into the firing chamber.

Note:
Machine Guns-- Legalities of Ownership
How to order/buy?

Subscribe in a reader

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/HandgunsProductAndInformationSite/~3/R3M6qnP2a_U/machine-guns-what-it-is.html" title="Machine Guns. Click Here

STI International Inc. is a world renowned manufacturer of 1911 and 2011 style pistols located in Georgetown, Texas. With over 17 years experience delivering the highest quality in 1911 and 2011 pistols, parts and components, STI International offers a wide variety of models of 1911 and 2011 pistols in multiple calibers, currently available through dealers and distributors in the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and South America.

From this highly successful line of precision components, STI then pioneered the "modular" frame which provided a multitude of desirable features such as a 30 lpi full checked grip assembly, 25 lpi checkered trigger guard, 35% weight reduction, less felt recoil, higher capacity, and repeatable dimensions

Then STI introduced complete pistols of such quality they quickly became the standard by which other I.P.S.C. firearms and fine "carry" guns are measured. Now STI leads the industry again with precision subassemblies in progressive stages of factory completion. Using "EDM" and "CNC" machine tools and precision grinding equipment, STI can supply fitted slide/frames or shortblocks to which gunsmiths of all skill levels can add their own finishing touches at a very reasonable cost.

STI International, Inc. manufactures all of its own components except pins, springs, and scopes. The suppliers of these purchased parts are reputable manufacturers with whom we have long term business relationships. We are, therefore, supremely confident in the fit, form, and function of every firearm and firearm part that we ship to our loyal customer base. With that in mind, we unconditionally warranty our products for their intended purpose, when properly installed. Abuse and normal wear are excluded. Call STI for a Return Authorization (RA#) for return of any item to STI. The RA number must be marked on the outside of the box. Packages will not be accepted without a RA number.

Learn More and Download STI Catalog HERE...

Subscribe in a reader

Did you Know ? 10 children are shot and killed every day

by Brendon Morris,that he recommended
http://www.handguncontrol.org ,reading for EVERYONE

43% of households in USA that have children also have handguns in them
10 children are shot and killed every day
1 child will die every day from an accidental gun shot.

43% of households have guns.
Just think about that number for a moment.
Let's say your young son has 10 friends that he regularly plays with. At least 4 of those friends live in a house with a gun. Some may say that it does not sound like a large number; after all, just because there is a gun there does not mean that the child knows where it is right? WRONG.
When was the last time you successfully hid a Christmas present or birthday present in your house?
Remember back when you were a kid?
How easy was it for you to find things all over the house?
Remember finding Dad's secret stash of Playboys?
What about that time you found your older brothers piggy bank?
Do not make the mistake of thinking a kid will not find something you have hidden. "Surely it's kept locked up, right?" Errrrr...think again. The majority of handguns kept in homes are NOT kept safely locked up, simply because people are stupid enough to believe that they need to be able to access that gun as fast as possible in case of an emergency. These people keep their guns in bedside drawers, closets, under mattresses.

"My child has been taught the rules about guns and would never ever touch one"

Yeah, right. Educate a child all you like, but you will never overcome a child's natural curiosity. As they grow through their teenage years, they do become more aware of the consequences, the risks and all the other things you teach them (MOST do, anyway), but younger kids ignore all safety warnings. After all, it's just a gun, it's not dangerous, right? A child who has been well educated about guns and the do's and don'ts associated with them will, in a majority of cases, still pick up a gun. Most will act out a play-fight scene or something similar, pretending to be their favourite hero.

The ABC network conducted an experiment a couple of years ago. They went to a child care centre, and put the kids through a gun safety talk. Then, a couple of days later, they hid a couple of guns in the centre, all totally disabled of course. These kids, aged 4 to 8 years, found the guns easily enough, and then proceeded to do all things imaginable with them; looking down the barrel, waving them around the room, pointing them at their friends, getting involved in the old "cops and robbers" games. There was even one kid who said to his friend with the gun, "shoot me".

Some of these kids were not well educated in guns, thats true, but some of them have parents who would swear black and blue that their child would never, EVER touch a gun, let alone play with it. Yet one of those well educated kids found the gun and said "Ohh, a gun. I'm not allowed to touch guns". He then picked the gun up and waved it around the room proclaiming "I'm touching a gun, I'm touching a gun". The boys mother was absolutely horrified when she saw the footage. Education is no guarantee of safety.

So, which of your child's 4 friends live with guns?
Which of those 4 know where the guns are?
Which of those 4 would, in an inspired moment of imagination, decide to use the gun to play a game or show off?

10 children die every day from handguns, through suicide, crime or accidents. How many kids died each year from guns in other countries? I believe these stats are for 1999; in Japan, not a single death was recorded, Great Britain had 19, 57 in Germany, 109 for France, 153 in Canada. I believe Australia was in the 30s or 40s. What about the home of the free? In the United States of America 5,285 CHILDREN died by gun. The only other countries that have figures like that are countries that are in the midst of war or are ruled by despots intent on ethnic cleansing.

more topics :
Against violence

Subscribe in a reader

Baretta U22 NEOS (review 1)

Find more parts, accessories & magazines HERE..

Neos means "new" in Greek, and Baretta's American design staff started with a clean sheet when drawing up this new line of .22 pistols. This gun quickly garnered Field & Stream’s “Best Gun of the Year Award,” Guns & Ammo’s “Editor’s Award for Gun of the Year” and American Rifleman’s “Bull’s Eye Award.” One of the reasons it received such widespread acclaim is that no other gun on the market has more recoil-reduction features than the Xtrema.

In the relentless pursuit of excellence, our engineers have once again set the benchmark for a “do-it-all” shotgun in the form of the new Xtrema2. The Xtrema2 features: Soft shooting gas operation; An integrated spring-mass recoil reducer; Optima-bore overborred barrel; Kick-off recoil reduction.

This new shotgun features Aqua technology for extreme environmental protection. All internal and external metallic components are constructed of advanced corrosive resistant materials. This means that even the coastal salt-spray that would ruin a traditional shotgun on a waterfowl outing will not damage this gun.

Action : SemiAutomatic gas operation with two lug rotating bolt and
Revolvers are super-reliable. A revolver cannot jam like an automatic (think war movies were someone yells "it's jammed!"). The mechanics are much simpler, and therefore significantly less prone to error or breakage. As tools, revolvers do their jobs time and time again without fail.

From a fashion perspective, some people simply prefer the look of a revolver to the look of an automatic. Some people find them less intimidating, and therefore are more likely to buy one and actually learn to use it. Of course, some people find the look of a revolver more intimidating, so your mileage may vary, just like it was, well, fashion or something.

Revolvers can hold anywhere from four bullets up to ten, depending on the specific type. Revolvers usually do not have a safety, which is a small switch that will prevent a gun from firing unless it is activated. This is not as scary or dangerous as you might think, though. Once you fire a bullet from a revolver, the next bullet does not come in line to be shot until you pull the trigger again, which takes some doing, as the pull of the trigger has to rotate the cylinder.

How about you?
