Phew, it has been rough and bumpy road in 2020 and I guess we're here on another level of Corona virus pandemic. I cannot sit down and relax. I cannot NOT create. So here I am with another update of my new, happy place. But before we get there, I want to reintroduce the brand that has been with me since 2010, Yellow Pony.

Yellow Pony is a brand which established in 2010 that is focusing on handcrafted items and other fashion accessories. Fast forward to 2020, the Corona pandemic has made Dita, me, the only person behind Yellow Pony, to have creative escape with her daughter, Lateefa. They decided to make Happy Crafty Time that focused on mask strap, ear saver, and other accessories for kids.

Tuesday Tote Bag DIYs and Tote Bag Shops

I have been using and selling tote bag since I was in college - back to 2010 when people were prone to use plastic at any occasions. Well, of course back then I didn't think this world is getting worse, this worse, so I didn't stop using plastic immediately. BUT, I'm glad I was educated by youtube and read lots of news so I never hesitate to grow my tote bag collection.

Not only that climate change is no longer a joke, how my heart melted watching Joaquin Phoenix acceptance speech on Golden Globe, it also needs me to make this earth a better place. It's soooo hard to stop eaaaating meeaaattt oh my God I am so ashamed of myself but I'll keep on doing my best to cut my weekly intake of meat and keep on wearing tote bag as my go-to bag.

I am that type of person who puts everything in a purse, smaller purse, even smaller purse so I don't mind a very spacious tote bag without any compartments.

Hope these are enough for now. Of course I have sewn and sold many tote bags I am not sure if I still remember them all but I still remember I got yellow tote bag from a craft swap, sold vintage tote bag, drew a tote bag and ask my husband to paint a plain tote bag to life.

I cannot tell how many tote bags I have had in my life... can you? How I wish this tiny step of not using plastic bag can help our Earth to live better...a little bit longer.

They are alive! Here, in my room and Lateefa's room. My dream is to have separated room yes..but for now I think we're just going to sleep together... But hey that's not my focus in this post. I am glad that at least I can decorate Lateefa's corner with handmade felt and pillow that I've been wanting for at least these two months.

She doesn't seem to like wearing the flower crown so I put it on the pillow's head.

..kemampuan? kemampuan apa?
becoming a wife and then a mom changes the whole me. Menjadi istri dan ibu benar-benar mengubah saya. Mengubah cara pandang saya terhadap situasi dan keadaan yang menurut saya sulit dan yang paling sulit itu ya saat anak sakit.

Saya berulang kali bilang pada diri saya sendiri bahwa Allah Maha Pengasih. Allah ngga mungkin membiarkan saya di keadaan terpuruk, sedih, meratapi nasib pada saat anak saya sakit. Saya tahu, saya tidak sendiri. Saya punya suami, partner saya yang menemani saya, menjadi imam saya, menjadi 'obat penenang berjalan' saya, menjadi sosok kekuatan saya setelah sekian lama sosok itu (mungkin) ada di orang tua saya.

Lateefa pernah masuk rumah sakit karena tipes dan perut selaluuuuu dan selaluuuuuuuuuuuu jadi issue buat anak pertama saya ini. Ini udah diare lagi dan saya kira dia terserang amoeba lagi tapi keadaannya belum membaik setelah 5 hari minum Flagyl. Saya mau langsung ke dokter besok, takut banget dia cacingan. Saat browsing cacingan di google, dag dig dug rasanya lemes dan beneran saya langsung gemeteran takut anak saya kurang gizi, atau dan cacing di pencernaannya yang sedang bertelur dan membesar, atau menjalar ke organ tubuh lainnya, ya Allah...

Back to skill, saya tiba-tiba ingat quote di atas. Semuanya yang datang pada saya dan suami setiap harinya membuat kami tambah kuat dan tambah pintar. Dengan melihat banyak bacaan atau source di internet yang terpapar bebas, gamblang, tanpa filter tentang cacingan, saya sebagai pembaca dan sebagai seorang ibu harus punya kemampuan untuk menyaring informasi. Yang paling penting, menurut saya, tetap tenang dan berusaha memberi pikiran positif bahwa anak saya akan baik-baik saja setelah membaca hal menyeramkan tentang cacingan - di luar kenyataan bahwa dia cacingan atau tidak. Saya harus punya skill membentuk pikiran positif, terus mengingat bahwa Allah Maha Penyayang.

Saya merasa, keadaan seperti ini yang membuat "skilled sailor" exists. Keadaan ini yang membuat saya dan suami menjadi orang tua yang lebih pandai. Menghadapi kenyataan Lateefa tipes rasanya world is against me, I was broken, I thought I was failed taking care of her tapi menyesal, terpuruk, sedih, tidak akan menyelesaikan masalah. Disitu saya belajar bahwa kemampuan saya menghadapi keadaan menyedihkan itu menjadi bekal kekuatan untuk hari ini. Untuk tetap tenang sampai besok Lateefa ke dokter (dan pastinya perjalanan panjang cek feses di lab dan harus siap ganti popok dimanapun saat dia pup) karena saya pernah menghadapi keadaan jauh lebih menyedihkan dari ini - anak terbaring dengan infus, tidak bebas bergerak bahkan untuk menyusui, pup sampai rembes ke celana saya jam 1 dini hari...dan rentetan kejadian lain yang membuat saya kuat menghadapi asumsi jelek saya terhadap Lateefa yang cacingan skarang - amit-amit semoga feeling saya salah, amiin.

Saya sangat bersyukur memiliki suami yang benar-benar sabaaaaaaar saaaaabaaaaaaaaaaaar banget menghadapi saya yang panikan, yang keukeuh tentang sesuatu yang saya anggap benar tentang feeling seorang ibu (walaupun memang kebanyakan benarnya, tapi ada salahnya juga), pokonya alhamdulillah banget ada suami deh. Ga kebayang gimana rasanya jadi single parent yang menghadapi semua sendiri... Ya Allah.. ini aja dipikul berdua rasanya udah susah apalagi dipikul sendiri...

Life is always about options, tho. Mau being skilled sailor berdua atau sendiri..kalau saya mau being skilled sailor together karena menikah itu ya berdua, menikah itu ya duaan. Jadi kangen suami dan mau pelukan... "Life is tough, and so we are".

Few years ago I stumbled upon a craft supplies online shop. It sells embroidery frame and all things embroidery basics. Ngga tahu sekarang masih ada atau nggak karena udah lupa juga nama online shop nya.
Lupa juga dimana nyimpen file-nya - ini masih belum diberesin :P

Tapi untuk free embroidery, Ini salah satu yang saya buat.

Berantakan banget zzz. Jadi kangen mau jahit-jahit dan berkarya lagi.

I love pretty things but it does take effort to make one. Here I have few pictures I got from Etsy related to embroidery. Mine is of course not for sale. It is just hobby - creative escape that needs to be done to keep me sane - not to mention Lateefa is always my remedy.

2016 is just around the corner, really around he corner. We just have 2 more days in 2015 and hello 2016!

Di tahun 2015 banyak yang bikin saya belajar. Dari Lateefa sakit, komunikasi sama suami, mau ngajar tapi kebentur ini-itu, mau jualan maju-mundur, berehenti jualan tapi masih hobi... Daaan banyak lagi.
But life is endless learning process. Salah saat ini bukan berarti ngga boleh salah lagi di masa depan. Kesalahan yang sama di saat ini bukan berarti kita ngga belajar. Saya selalu merasa saya adalah orang yang harus terus diingatkan. Orang yang harus terus punya motivasi. Orang yang terus harus bergerak dan berkarya karena jadi ibu rumah tangga yang ngurus anak to itu ternyata ngga mudah buat saya.

Hai!
Setelah sekian lama berkutat dengan motherhood yang pastinya lasts forever, I am so excited that I can manage time for my hobbies again! Re-inviting the ideas, embrace the laziness for the second time, doing what I love most : writing, editing, taking photos, print them, read books, and finally..after everything has been buried and I have to start from scratch but I don't mind at all - POSTCROSSING.

Udah lamaaa banget mau mulai postcrossing lagi tapi belum bisa. Alhamdulillah, Lateefa udah 15 bulan tanggal 23Des ini. Waktu tidurnya udah teratur dan udah makin punya waktu occupied lebih lama dari sewaktu dia masih 8-14 bulan yang kalo saya meleng sedikit, dia kejedug, kalau meleng sedikit, spidol udah masuk mulut.

Makanya seneng banget nih liburan ini, walau sempet nginep di RS karena Lateefa tipes, tapi seneng banget deh liburan ini. No classes, no bags to be tagged nor shipped, no necklaces to be checked. Alhamdulillah, beres. Hehehe. Lebih seneng pas pulang dari RS, rumah bersihhhh rapiiihhh diberesin suami barengan sama mang njun. Jadi, di waktu senggang ini, mau dimanfaatkan dengan mengerjakan hobi yang dulu terbengkalai.

Started from Postcrossing tadi. Ngga sabar mau bikin mail art, ngga sabar mau kirim kartu pos, ngga sabar mau terima kartu pos. Yay!!

Ayoooo kita mulai lagi berkarya :)

Ngomong-ngomong karya, I have taken few photos of my Lateefa, belum kepikiran untuk foto yang lain. Mungkin nanti ya.. Untuk sekarang, foto si kecil dulu aja..

Having a toddler means you really have to deal with their world : playing is number one, in other word : exploring. I love how my Lateefa play with daily objects, her toys, and everything we have in the house. Her favourite part by now is the kitchen, in front of refrigerator.
