Hiroshi Tsubouchi is one of the newest designers to be adopted into Tres Bien Shop. The Japanese shoemaker has been honing his craft since 1977 and is now one of the most reputable shoemakers in his homeland. Tsubouchi is known for creating shoes of the highest quality that ensure longevity and relevance with classic shapes. The Shark Sole Derby is one of the standouts from his latest collection. They feature a premium leather upper with contrast laces, stitching and a tri-colour ripple sole.

Archival Clothing has further expanded their collection of sturdy, American-made bags with the Archival Roll Top. They have become very well known for their well-sourced and high quality materials on all of their baggage. They have done an excellent job with their Rucksack, Duffle and Dopp Kit; naturally we are excited to see their thoughtful expansion.

Our Archival Roll Top is a comfortable, roomy, stripped-down backpack for keeping your belongings dry and safe in any conditions. Slightly larger than our Rucksack, the Roll Top is great for bicyclists, motorcyclists, and anyone else who regularly faces the elements.

Featuring a roll-top closure secured by a stout Horween leather strap and solid brass roller buckle, double-layer bottom, an interior stash pocket, and two exterior side pockets great for keys, mini U-lock, or anything else requiring quick access. Includes a semi-rigid, padded back panel and solid brass rings to adjust the shoulder straps, just like our classic Rucksack model. A Horween leather lash point on the front panel makes a great place to attach anything from a bike light to a sleeping pad.

The backpack is constructed from the highest quality materials: water-resistant 18 oz cotton duck, Horween leather, and thread are of US origin. Webbing and most of our solid brass hardware is sourced from the UK. Edges are bound in waxed cotton tape and all stress points are bar-tacked or riveted.

Think CONTRA recently published a shoot by Katie Sadie entitled Militaire. The shoot features clothing by LATrE, a great Toronto brand that HANDSOME has done a recent collaboration with. LATrE is known for their reworked military deadstock displayed throughout the photo-shoot. We recently completed a small collection of t-shirts (worn as a scarf above) that have been hand-dyed by LATrE which are currently available at TNT and Armed in Toronto. The HANDSOME + LATrE Collaboration will debut online this month.

For their second shipment of SS12, White Mountaineering offer multiple colourways in their Jacquard Jersey Shorts. White Mountaineering has become well known for their Jacquard print in the last two seasons mainly on separates and outwear. This time they use the classic pattern on lightweight and soft shorts. The shorts feature an elastic waistband and as always use material/prints exclusively created for White Mountaineering.

One of the most valuable things a man can own in his closet is a pair of pants that look presentable, but feel like pajamas. Engineered Garments’ Fenway Trousers can make this your reality. They are made in multiple colourways of which the black ones are our favourite. EG also offers a matching blazer for the full effect.

Our newest line, The Toronto Collection is now available in The HANDSOME Online Shop. We were inspired to create a capsule collection of t-shirts, sweatshirts and snap-back hats as an ode to our beloved city where it all started for us. To celebrate the release, we teamed up with John McGovarin and Joel Barnes on a short video of Toronto through their eyes as well as The Toronto Mix by Deebs.

The Toronto Collection has been produced in modest numbers which will be sold exclusively through our online shop and our HANDSOME Pop-Up in Armed for the month of May.

Comme Des Garcons pay tribute to one of the season’s largest trends of floral print. CDG has created a beautiful and unique floral design featuring a variety of colourful flowers and butterflies coming together on a sky blue base. The short sleeve button up features a slightly smaller than classic collar and a single breast pocket.

We’ve been listening to Daughn Gibson‘s All Hell an inordinate amount since it came out a couple weeks back. The album finds Gibson sampling real country music (remember when it was dusty, gritty, and evocative) and re-imagining it for the modern world. As you would expect, any fans of Javelin’s country sampling Canyon Candy will love this album.

This isn’t all electronic gadgetry and chopped up wizardry though. There is real soul on this album, mainly due to Gibson’s deep (Johnny Cash-like) baritone voice, but also the stories the former trucking employee weaves throughout each song. It’s also refreshing to hear a whole album worth of solid productions, a feat increasingly rare in todays music climate. Even his ugly yet effective website seems to be a middle finger to the glitz and gloss of the modern world.
