Spacetime recently sent us a mix that we’ve been enjoying a lot. It’s a recording from a set he spun at Detour Bar last weekend in our hometown of Toronto featuring some songs he got straight off our blog (FYI we try to post high quality 320 kbps songs when possible – just another way we try to make this blog a step above the rest).

The epic tracklist reads as a veritable “who’s who” of EDM and bass music. Songs from Jamie XX, Jacques Greene, Kingdom, Mele, GIRL UNIT, Yuksek, Diplo, Dubbel Dutch, Brenmar, Fake Blood, and Lunice all blended together to make an hour of power (music).

The 3 Slot Wallet from Thom Browne’s Spring/Summer ’12 Collection is a simple and functional option. It is slim and not overly distracting with a construction from a thick, premium leather. Details include the classic Thom Browne three stripes on a tab paying homage to American design as well the logo printed in gold on one side. The wallet is Made in American and lined with Browne’s tri-colour fabric.

We have been seeing different selections from the Junya Watanabe MAN SS12 Collection showing up at some of our favourite retailers in the last week. The Goodhood Store is the latest to publish their offerings from Junya. Amongst the selection of garments, we spotted the Paisley Print Scarf pictured above. The scarf is lightweight for Spring/Summer with a red and navy print on the front. A very notable attribute to the Japanese-made scarf is the £52.00 price-tag making it one of the most affordable pieces we have come across under the Comme Des Garçons umbrella.

Alec Empire and his work with Atari Teenage Riot has been an inspiration to us since we were kids. We were excited to see that he recently remixed Salem’s remake of Alice Deejay’s 90s popular dance hit “Better Off Alone”. Alec Empire uses more of the hook that made the original so famous and straddles the line between the most sugary of pop music and industrial witch house.

Here is our single favourite piece from the Junya Watanabe MAN Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. This season, Junya Watanabe continues their creativity under the Comme Des Garcons label with new separates, denim, shoes and outwear. We have always been fans of their signature patchwork designs and the Floral Patchwork Shirt pictured above is one of their best.

The piece is creative and accessible. The tailored cut combined with the extremely popular floral pattern provide a great base for the shirt. The multitude of materials, patterns and details make for a nice departure from the usual world of button ups.

In our opinion, Norse Projects and Supreme make the best options for 5 panel caps. Both go with a super clean approach which leaves the focus on their choice of prints and materials. Danish brand, Norse Projects have an expansive variety of hats for the Spring/Summer ahead in different materials, colours and prints.

Our favourite is the cornprint in navy pictured above. The hat upper is made from 100% cotton and features a brown leather adjustable strap on the back. Norse Projects hats are Made in USA.

A.P.C.’s SS12 collection recently came online at Tres Bien Shop. The latest restock consists of their classic raw denim, traditional basics as well as a selection of prints for the season. Prints for SS12 include camouflage on The APC Mini Parka as well as the Leopard Print pictured above on a crew-neck sweatshirt.

We had a chance to catch up with some of the knowledgeable staff at 3.1 Phillip Lim’s New York City location and check out pieces from the first delivery of Spring 2012. Several pieces from the collection include garments which have been dip-dyed individually. One of our favourite pieces is the Dolman Shirt, which we have seen in previous seasons in a variety of colourways.

The shirt is a looser fit and has a seemless design from the body to the sleeves which contributes to the unstructured look. The short sleeve button up also features fisherman sleeves which can be rolled and buttoned up. The Dolman Shirt comes in two different dip-dyed options for Spring 2012 of which the pictured Ivory colourway is our personal favourite.

This one is for fans of The Weeknd that want to go deeper into the wormhole of smoky late-night R&B. Jacy by Supreme Cuts starts off so deep it’s almost oppressive but, when you make it past the first minute, the whole thing breaks wide open. It’s an incredibly good song that rewards the patient listeners that can enjoy its subtleties.
