Common planting guideline suggests to start planting directly outdoors after Mother's day, but unfortunately that doesn't rule out occasional frost, even in May. So far this gardening year has been unusually cold, although if you remember last year we had an unexpectedly late frost as well and many farmers <div class="feedflare">

Make it today, enjoy it tomorrow.
I've always had a soft spot for all things pudding, heavy cream, tea biscuits. Together with ice cream (ooh I love ice cream) these are in fact my favorite dessert indulgences, along with few others. What can I do I have a sweet tooth.
Today I wanted to show you how to make this super easy dessert that your family will love and your kids can make it, too.<div class="feedflare">

If you want to make special cookies but are running short on time these cookies take only minutes to decorate. I used royal icing wet on wet technique to create a pretty flowery design. While icing is still wet use a needle tool(or you can also use a toothpick) and move the icing around :
watch my video tutorial below to see how I made these.

To make these cookies you need:

I'm back with another garden update. Things are moving forward really fast around here. We've transplanted tomatoes, peppers and spaghetti squash seedlings directly into the garden. First we planted tomatoes and for the first few nights we covered them with plastic sheet to protect them from cold, especially last Sunday it was quite cold at night. We didn't want to take any chances of them<div class="feedflare">

Let's talk Frosting Sheets. It is a form of edible "paper" thin icing, used on cakes, cookies, cupcakes and other desserts.
Frosting Sheets are usually made from a special fondant material, pressed into ultra thin sheets, for easier handling they also have a backing attached to them. Backing paper has to be removed before you apply sheet onto the cake, cookies or cupcakes. Once you apply <div class="feedflare">

College graduation season begins this month. Graduation ceremonies are in order, flying caps, smiles and flowers, followed by family celebrations.
Today I wanted to show you how to decorate a cookie using a cookie design I first made few years back in 2010. Back then I used royal icing transfers to make scales. I learned a big lesson : royal icing transfers when doing dry RIT onto the wet <div class="feedflare">

Last night I ordered some new stencils from The Closet Stencil etsy shop to play with. I love stencils, and since my new airbrush is coming today I need more cookie toys to test it out! And while picking out my stencils I noticed they had herrinbone stencil(I ordered it) which reminded me of this cookie I made last year, using piped herrinbone pattern. Looking for quick fix roasted chicken? One pot meal? I tried this recipe last week. Made it for our neighbor Jeff. He came over yesterday to return the baking dish so I asked what he thought about it.

He said it was delicious but next time he'd avoid eating lemon slice, even though I mentioned to him before to avoid eating lemon slices, he tried one anyway. We had a good laugh.

Broccoli is a cool weather vegetable and does best in Spring or Fall, it doesn't do well in Summer and in the heat so it is best to plant it in the early Spring, or in early Fall/late Summer. Just like radishes it goes to seed as soon as it gets little warmer, and just like peas it is able to withstands mild frost. We had few cold nights just a few days ago and it did really well.

Spring is here! It has been around for a little while but now it finally feels like it is here to stick around. It is not going anywhere. Trees are showing off their tiny leaves and many of them are covered with blooming flowers. Yesterday I noticed our Dogwood in front of the house is budding and soon will bloom, for what ever short period of time that will be, it will be magical.

I have <div class="feedflare">

Few weeks back I made Cauliflower Asparagus Semolina Cakes and since we both, you and I,(thank you for your emails) really enjoyed them I decided to try something similar but this time with spinach. As I was getting semolina I came across lentils, they nearly fell out of the cabinet, it is so packed with stuff, which reminds me I need to re-organize!

Chives on the porch came up already so I<div class="feedflare">

I'm back with another garden post. I'll try to share garden updates at least once a week, sometime perhaps even more than once. As we get into the season there will lots to share.
We already have some veggies in, first we planted radishes, then onion, scallion, carrot and a few days ago it was time to put the peas in. Below you can find names of seeds we are using this year. Mostly we <div class="feedflare">

Toasted bread crumbs are great variety of dishes, just to name a few : sprinkle bread crumbs on pasta, rolled potato noodles, pierogy, cauliflower and also on cheese balls.
Toasting the bread crumbs brings out the flavor. When toasting bread crumbs <div class="feedflare">

I made these for a Mustache inspired Birthday Party. I didn't have any mustache cutters, I know they are available but I kind of ran out of time and so I made cookie cutter templates instead. Also I made several piping guide templates. I wanted to create different mustache shapes and templates worked great. You can find all the details below.

To make mustache cookies you need:

This is our new gardening tool/planting tool.
Meet Mr. 42. This time saving tool make 42 holes with one press, pretty neat right? Especially if you are planting a lot, which we are. Stay tune for more garden updates coming soon.

This is a really busy time of the year, as planting outside is in progress and we also have lot of seedlings inside to take care of.

Naturally when I handpicked small red potatoes from the bin at a local farmer's market I <div class="feedflare">

Fresh colors and fresh flavors. Cauliflower and Asparagus. These 2 seem to be getting along quite nicely, flavor and color wise. I wanted to include only cauliflower but I was missing the spark, nice green spark, and a little crunch. Since I had just returned from a little vegetable shopping spree and I had bought asparagus, I quickly cut it up, I threw in some garlic and drizzled over<div class="feedflare">

It's Monday. Let's start this week with a super easy project ( before I jump into more complicated edible Dino stuff I have prepared; stay tuned for another super cute dino project later this week). Here is a quick and really fun project for all ages but especially for all the Dino enthusiasts. If you can't find plastic dinosaur toys, check out your local Dollar Store, they may have a great<div class="feedflare">

It felt like Spring as I walked outside. Many of the local nurseries opened their doors today. People everywhere, buying Easter flowers and pansies or just enjoying the first signs of Spring. It was sunny and windy.
We stopped at a local farm stand that has just opened for the season and I bought tons of veggies : scallions, radishes, lettuce, asparagus, cauliflower, dill and fresh lemons. <div class="feedflare">

Few weeks back I was contacted by King Arthur Flour and I was invited to participate in a really sweet project that involves cake making. How could I resist? It's a cake!

I received a package full of cake making/decorating essentials (I've never used parchment rounds before, if you can believe it I still hand cut them, what a treat, they are great!).Though I have to say, as a self <div class="feedflare">

If you follow me on Facebook you probably noticed my little mentions about getting our garden ready for the upcoming season. I just thought I'd show what we'd been up to these past weeks.

For last several weeks we have been remodeling our garden. Even though original design was fantastic, we ended up replacing the whole lenght of the frame with new 4x4s, much sturdier and definitely more <div class="feedflare">

I've been on a 3D cookie kick lately. Here is my take on honecomb cookies in a 3D from. Inside I placed a handmade marzipan bee, that is so easy to make you won't believe it.

To Make 3D Honeycomb Cookie you need:
Sugar Cookie Dough, colored with food coloring, as desired
Hexagon cookie cutter, or a plastic template
Americolor Food Colorings, you can get food colors from The Cookie <div class="feedflare">
