I’m really not worried about bugs or other animals getting in the house with this cat. As clueless as she is, she always spots stuff and goes right for it before we even notice it.

Here she is going after some monstrosity of an ant that somehow got in the house.

Started Painting The Apartment

Jess and I started painting the apartment Saturday. The office is now complete and the main wall in the living room is done. Went with a subtle gray for the office because of the idea to place some sports fathead stuff in there.

For the living room we have a very nice green that turned out really well. Love the color and we got lucky because it is exactly what we hoped it would be. That usually doesn’t happen in painting, swatches never look the same as once you paint the wall. Now once all this rain stops we can continue in the living room with the second tan-ish type color we chose.

I know it’s hard to tell from the pictures they gray but you can kind of see it on the one where the green is showing next to it.

Don’t know why this didn’t post Sunday like it was supposed to but here it goes.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!

For Mother’s Day we typically always get her flowers for the garden and plant them. I keep it alive this year and picked up some dirt, mulch, and flowers at Lowe’s on my way to they house. Couldn’t believe they were out of marigolds, pissed me off. The one flower she always gets.

Anyway, we all spent the afternoon cleaning up the flower beds and filling them back up with dirt and planting the petunias. Was a perfect day too. Not too hot but nice and sunny. We even transplanted some hostas that were getting smothered by the overgrown rhododendron up front.

Here are some pictures. The mulch really helps it pop.

Late on my posting here. Jess was out and about so Matthew, Juston and I went down to the game Saturday. RBNY started off strong and was able to get a goal in the opening minutes. After the half they seemed to fall apart but kept it together defensively with great saves from the goalie.

2012 NHL Playoffs Picks

The second round is here. Turns out my picks were just down right terrible for the first round. Only 3 out of 8 were correct.

EAST:
NY over Ottawa (kinda ify on this) – RIGHT
Boston over Washington – WRONG, although while watching the series I had a feeling Washington was gonna win
New Jersey over Florida – RIGHT
Pittsburgh over Philly – WRONG, don’t even wanna talk about it

WEST:
Vancouver over LA – REALLY WRONG
St Louis over San Jose – RIGHT
Chicago over Phoenix – WRONG, but really good match-up
Detroit over Nashville – WRONG, had the feeling after first 2 games that Nashville had Detroit’s number

Here are my picks for the second round, maybe I’ll do better.

EAST:

Rafa Marquez is just horrible lately. Hasn’t been good since the first season he showed up. He is just dirty and I swear I’m convinced he purposely gives the ball to the other team 75% of the time.

NY Red Bulls vs. San Jose Earthquakes

Went to the game Saturday with Jess and Matthew. Since the Red Bulls have been on fire I thought they would’ve had another blowout win but I was wrong. San Jose tied the game up 2-2 in the first and probably would have won if they weren’t missing some key people.

99.9MPG baby! Reset the gas meter while coasting downhill. If only I could get even close to that I’d be golden with a 36 gallon tank. Would only have to fill up every oil change.
