slipping & sliding

noreply@blogger.com (Happiness Winner) — Fri, 21 Feb 2014 22:33:00 +0000

Amidst of all the snow storms, we had a sunny day and we took full advantage of it! We drove to a state park and had too much fun slipping and sliding while hiking all the trails. At one time, The Boy actually hit the ground and I am sure I laughed straight for 15 minutes. Good thing he didn't hurt himself! I don't know what it is about falling, but if I see someone slip and fall, I just can't stop myself from laughing hysterically. That goes for even if the victim is me. I actually slipped and fell on my bum last night. The parking lot was frozen and I didn't notice until I had already hit the asphalt. It was one strong fall and made a "boom" noise. Luckily, all my bones are still intact!

something new

noreply@blogger.com (Happiness Winner) — Wed, 15 Jan 2014 21:12:00 +0000

Even though we are 15 days into the New Year, I would like to take couple seconds to thank 2013 for being super good to me, and hope that 2014 will only be better. I am sure it won't be an easy year (yes, I am talking to you STEP 1), but if everything goes smoothly it for sure will be a rewarding one! Here's to learning a little more and growing (a little more) as a unique individual.

And oh where better to start but on top of the world, I mean a snow pile. Tomato, Tamato.

I hope this year has been awesome for you so far and turns out to be the better than the best!

noreply@blogger.com (Happiness Winner) — Sun, 22 Dec 2013 20:49:00 +0000

I get to see my awesome-st family in two days! I haven't seen them since the beginning of August and can't wait to be spoiled with all the love and food (of course). I hope you all are having an amazing time with your loved ones!

So Google decided, it wanted to "auto-awesomize" couple of my pictures and this and the one with the Christmas tree (below) were the lucky picks. Thank you Google!

The Boy is busy with rotations in the city, so I have decided to replace him with my old best friend, self-timer. The Boy will come to the rescue whenever possible, but in the meantime you will have to make do with my awkward poses, as I try to smile for a camera instead of a handsome man.

apple picking and pumpkin mimicking

noreply@blogger.com (Happiness Winner) — Sun, 10 Nov 2013 07:26:00 +0000

It was my very first time and I had the time of my life! I enjoyed every single part of it: hayrides, which by the way were hay-less (because supposedly too many people are allergic to the hay, I say get those kids out and about when they are little so that their immune system can man up!); picking the sweetest apples we could find; feeding/petting pigs, sheep, llamas and ponies; watching little pigs race; and running around in the maze. I am not a fan of donuts, but those cinnamon-spiced-sugar-covered donuts did manage to steal the heart of my taste buds.

trust your brain

noreply@blogger.com (Happiness Winner) — Thu, 17 Oct 2013 00:19:00 +0000

I have this trust issue. Whenever I am taking an exam I like to question everything my brain has to say. I never want to just go with it. I fight with it till I get my way.

"Oh you think it's A, I think it's B, so I am gonna go with B. Doesn't matter the reasoning."

After every exam, I realize I was wrong and my brain was right. I cry. I promise to not repeat the same mistake again. Comes the next exam, and my stubborn self does the same exact thing it did in the exam before. I cry again.

Moral of the story is: trust your brain, it knows more than you think! If you have taught it, then trust that it will deliver.

the city i fell in love with

noreply@blogger.com (Happiness Winner) — Mon, 07 Oct 2013 02:08:00 +0000

First of all, I would like to apologize to anyone who reads this blog for not keeping up with postings. Second year is super busy, and I am still figuring out how to balance classes, research and work. Hopefully, things will calm down a little bit by winter quarter or may be I will learn to juggle it all by then? We will see.

As, I sit on my bed and learn nuts and bolts of bacteriology and virology, I would like to leave you all with something a bit more appealing. My family and I finally got to take a road trip this past summer and we decided to explore the northern part of California. Here are some pictures of one of the most beautiful city I have ever been to: San Francisco! I am sure the year around cold weather has ~~everything~~ something to do with my love for this city. :p

noreply@blogger.com (Happiness Winner) — Sat, 07 Sep 2013 21:20:00 +0000

I am 25 years and 7 days old, but who is counting.

Lately, medical school and work has taken over my life. The other day, I thought I was studying when I actually was sleeping and was just dreaming about studying. Yep, that's what happens when you snooze your alarm, pick up your ipad to review notes and half-fall asleep during the review.

Stranger: Hey man, where did ya get that shirt from? It's dope.

The Boy (all smug): My girl got it for me!

Oh yes I did. I did get him that awesome-st shirt. I saw the shirt in a shop window in Costa Rica and had one of those "love at first sight" moments. It was just so perfect and I knew I had to get it. Even though I bought it for The Boy, 'cause I couldn't justify spending more money on me (in addition to the cost of trip), I was hoping that The Boy wouldn't like it and then it will be all mine. Sadly, The Boy loved it. No worries though, I am planning to bring "wear boyfriend's t-shirt" to school/work day back soon. :p

Happy Friday to you all! I just realized that this outfit could have been a cool spin on July 4th outfits. I have got red, white, ~~navy~~ blue, and for one day let's say that instead of shining stars, our national flag has popping hearts. After all, hearts are way cooler than stars.
And while we are at it, can we also pretend that these denim shorts are denim cuttoffs, just hemmed very well. Cool? Cool.

We actually made it out of the door while sun was still shining bright, and didn't quite know how to deal with so much light. So, be ready to cover your eyes, 'cause some of the pictures might blind you. A professional photographer would tell you all the things that are wrong with these pictures (and he/she would be right), but my foolish (and too full of herself) self thinks otherwise. I think they are just perfect: lots of light and a little bit of shade.

Before I forget, I am participating in my very first challenge: 7 x 7 remix challenge! I have chosen 7 pieces from wardrobe, that I will be mixing to make 7 beautiful outfits over the course of next 7 days. The outfit above is one of the 7s and will be posting a outfit every single day for the next 6 days.

Can you believe that? I will be posting daily for a week? I am sure my blog couldn't be more excited, I don't think it has ever gotten this much of my attention before. :p
