Busy Busy...But Oh So Happy a 15 min challenge

Life never stops...it keeps going and going-even while we sleep.

So my life is not different from yours-we all have life going about us even when we are sleeping.

Routine...routine...routine.

Now a routine isn't bad-but when the things that need done don't get done for the sake of

routine...that isn't a good thing.

But if I make goals (no matter how small) I can change a lot of my routine so that it runs smoother.

Like packing my sons lunches the night before.

It makes sense-no stressing for me in the morning.

No finding out I don't have what I need to make his lunch complete.

I can rest easy knowing that it is done.

Small change right-probably takes 5 min-but the outcome is a smoother morning and a good night

sleep which is priceless and important for my routine.

So on to the next help and tip for the busy mom:

There are a lot of 10-15 min things we can get done.

My encouragement to you is if you have a task that seems too enourmous,

set the timer for 15 mins and start on the project.

You'll be AMAZED at what you get done.

Even if it isn't the whole task completed-SO WHAT!!

You did something to make the next 15 min be even more profitable.

After you finish your first 15 min

you just might be encouraged to do more.

I know this is the case with me-sometimes it helps me realize how much time it really does take.

"Oh, the dishes need done..oh brother...it will take me like a half and hour to do...." ;

when really it only takes 5-10 min.

Setting a timer can also be a good mood booster.

How good does it feel to get something, anything done?!!

I don't know about you but to me it feels great and encourages me to reset the timer

and see what else I can get done.

So go to it-try it out and come back and tell me your experience.

I would love to hear how just 15 min helped you regain your confidence.

We as mothers are so busy-doing for others and we neglect ourselves.

Use the 15 min timer to your advantage; set the timer for 15 min and go do something for yourself.

And rejoice that you at least got 15 min just for you-it will help to rejuvinate you and your mood.

Read your Bible, listen to music, spend 15 min writing down what you are thankful for, run on the

treadmill, do a 10 min workout topped off with a 5 min. shower.

There are a lot of things you can do with just 15 min.

Which this helps things go smoothly in the family as well.

Take the mentality of ALL OR NOTHING syndrome out of the equation.

I will talk about this syndrome in another post..until then take 15 min enjoy the day you have.

This is the only day you will get to live for today. Spend it wisely.

Happy New Year to You!

I know it has been awhile since I have posted. Life is busy with a baby and a 6 year old. I am so thankful that I am this busy. I have many goals for this new year that God has blessed us with.

I would like to be more "frugal" and "self sufficient" in different aspects of our daily living. There is a plethora of resources out there to make different things from home. I found a site that even showed how to make homemade hairspray.

My goal is to at least post once a month with something new, frugal and or homemade.

One thing that we started last year ~~(2011-not that I need to remind you-it wasn't that long ago..lol)~~were cloth pocket diapers. So far they have been easier than I thought.

There are a few other goals that I would like to share-but time is of the essence and I need to go run and do some shopping. Little Lady's nap time is coming up and my Boy Wonder is ready to help his Mama.

I am sorry it has been a while...but keeping up with my family

Boy Wonder has superpowers!!

I am convinced that my 6 year old has superpowers..haha

Little Lady can be crying and he will go over and touch her and she will stop crying.

Ugh to have the power of hushing.

Hahah guess that makes him a human pacifier.

I will be making another trip out to Ohio this next week.

My grandfather's health is failing.

But, God gave me the oppurtunity to witness to him last week when we were there.

And he asked Jesus to be his Savior.

Before he went into a coma he said to grandma that

"That it was time to go, God is calling me Home"

How sweet to hear him say that!!

Thank you Lord for saving my soul and for saving those whom I love.

The other day he was in the bath tub taking a bath and yelled downstairs:

Boy Wonder: "Mommy, is the dishwasher running?"

Me: "No it is not"

Boy Wonder: "But the water is getting cold"

of course I couldn't help but laugh....he thought that if the dishwasher was on

that was why his bath water was getting cold.

I am so excited because I just ordered two journals so that I can write down

Boy Wonders little quips and Little Lady's little quips.

I am so blessed!!

So thankful for my trials and triumphs through Christ!!

My cup runneth over with so many blessings from God and from my family and friends!

I am sorry that I have not had a chance to post in about a month.

Obviously newborns need lots of love and attention.

So do husbands and a certain 6 year old {big smile}.

I love my family and thank God every day for my precious family.

Lydia is 6 weeks now and she has grown so much!!

She is now 10lbs and 22 inches long!

If you add an ounce and an inch to her that is what my Boy Wonder was

at birth!!

We are so happy and in love with our children!!

What a gift from God they truly are!!!

How about a little of A Day in the Mouth of Boy Wonder?

We had missionaries come to our church the other day and Caleb precedes to tell them:

"All babies are born with boy hair.

Pretty soon Lydia will get her girl hair and then we can put it up into a ponytail."

Now he has never said anything like this to me before.

This was his logic-and so cute!!

Then he says:

"My Daddy named me-the hospital named Lydia"

Which it is kinda true since he was there for the birth certificate business.

Hahah-he is so goofy!!

Goes to show the understanding of an adult world in the eyes of a child.

Today I have to take Lydia to the doctors-she has a fever.

Poor baby girl!! She had a rough night last night too.

Hopefully it is just something small and nothing too serious.

Well, I am not sure if there is anything else to share at this moment.

I know it has been a while since I have blogged-but my priorities are in the right direction.

And I am thankful for that.

I have not forgotten about everyone-maybe when things settle down we can have a giveaway again.

It was fun but it got to the point that she couldn't handle anymore photos.

Haha-he is in for a surprise since he goes all day now.

This year I am teaching all of the Music Classes- elementary up to high school.

We are enjoying a little quick family getaway to celebrate our

8th Wedding Anniversary

{We were married Sept. 6 2003-sigh...one of the best days ever}

and to go out one more time before school starts for Boy Wonder and me on Monday.

I happened to snag a few minutes of internet so that I could

catch up on the email and other things on the web.

{thankful that our little hotel has free wifi!!}

Anyways...I will not be able to get any internet service until Monday.

{we are kinda shopping to get a better deal-they wanted to charge us over $60!!

that is way to much for internet...anyways....}

Maybe by Monday I will have some photos of our trip to the Ocean.

I will tell you that

it has been nice to just sit and talk to my hubby without any distraction!

And watch my little boy make cities in the sand..so priceless and cute!!

Sharing a Moment with you- "Why Woman Cry"

A friend posted this and I really liked it...so I thought that I would share :)

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I'm a woman," she told him. I don't understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?" All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry. Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"

God said: "When I made the woman she had to be special.

I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort.

I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.

My Precious Joy Diaries 9-2-11

Yesterday or the day before..haha

I posted one of the things that Naomi Joy taught me through

this whole "giving back to God" process.

So I wanted to continue from there....

The second thing I learned happend throught the surgery prep process

I kinda caught it myself after I said it...

{without Naomi Joy's passing it probably wouldn't have ment so much to me as it does now

I guess that is the way of a tender heart}

I was telling my husband about how sad I was

that I wouldn't be able to be married to him when we go to Heaven...

{Matthew 22:25-32 is the whole referance to this occurance-here is the verse that is specific to this:
(28) Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven?
for they all had her.

(29) Jesus answered and said unto them,

Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

(30) For in the resurrection they neither marry,

nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.}

I continued on to say....Why I wish we could, because then we could have a perfect marriage!

Wouldn't that be wonderful to have a perfect marriage!!

Those words stayed with me since that time in the hospital

it really made me thing and realize the value of our earthly lives

and and the value of time on this earth {as stated prior in my other post}.

This marriage that I am in, is the only one on this side of Heaven

{Lord willing-we have a pact that he can't die before me-or I before him.haha}

that I get to enjoy and participate in.

Why should I wait to have a "perfect" marriage?

This got me thinking

about how I can make my marriage a "perfect one" for me and my husband.

I want to please God with my life and my ministry to my husband, and my children.

Then to continue on to my extended family and friends, and to the people at our home church.

So I knew there were things I should change and work harder on.

I then started thinking of ways to show my dearest on earth that I loved him.

There are a few things that I have done....I will list some of them:

One: I started writing him a love note almost everyday....

Now there are a few days that I can not, or we are too busy... but I use sticky notes sometimes

just to post and "I love you" in the mirror

so that when he gets ready for the day he sees it.

Next,

Our anniversary is coming up next week...so I have been planning

a few "gift" ideas to honor him and show him respect

{and also to tell him that I love him.}

I will not post them yet

since I figure the one time I would post details-he would check out my blog-hahah

Third:
Every chance I have to just sit beside him-I do that-and nothing else-savour each moment

and there are a few more-maybe I will share later on....

More about my wonderful Huband and more things I have learned:

He has been truly such an aide and help to me through this!!

I NEED HIM!!!

I realized this truly for the first time because of Naomi's passing.

Like I said before-she has giving me such wisdom and understanding of things!!

I cannot begin to express in words on what this experience has done for me and too me.

Yes, it is a day to day process-everyday is a new day filled with God's mercy and grace

{and Joy-wink wink}!

I am so thankful that God hasn't given up on me;

and that He took such a small person, and used her to teach me so much!

I NEED God...and just like He holds me in His hand and loves me;

my husband holds my hand and holds me in his heart

and loves me unlike any other person on earth can.

I feel stronger when I hold his hand...us two can face anything

We are strong

Because-Greater is He that is in me , than he that is in the world.

I am so thankful for my husband!!

He has taken on such a task of helping to care for me and our little guy...

I still cannot vacuum since my back is giving me some trouble.

So after a long, long days/weeks of work-he sets aside time to help me by vacuuming.

He has spent most of his time at the church this week-taking care of a few

projects that needed to be done.

This left him coming home at 2-3 a.m. in the morning...

it was a long week-and I really really missed him!

And after this long week what does he do?

He set aside some time today to help vacuum the house.

HE LOVES ME SOOO MUCH!!!!

So here I am working on making my marriage as heavenly as possible.

There is so much more that I would like to share about this topic.

But, I will wait-perhaps until another day.

My Precious Joy Diaries 9-1-11

I title this post after my Naomi Joy....

I want it to be that when I talk or post about her that it is done with Joy

reflecting not only her middle name, but her Creator.

Three weeks ago from today I found out that I would not get to hold this precious gift from God.

It is hard to believe that it was such a short time ago when I had

to "give" her back to the one who created her.

You may ask..does it still hurt? Honestly?

Her passing definitely leaves a "scar" on my heart

I feel like my heart is so tender, and at times more sensitive to things around me.

But that doesn't end my story...

You see that precious little tiny baby only 12 weeks and 4 days in utero

gave me something so precious; along with teaching me some very valuable lessons.

I am amazed that someone so tiny and so young could do this!!!!

I have talked to many people about this and I will continue to do so

in hopes that it might encourage other's

who may have lost a baby, or a child, or a relative, or a friend.

One of the first things she taught me was to appreciate the time I have.

I only carried her for such a short time

and being on bed rest most of that time I didn't get a lot of things done.

{I am still catching up with house work after about 12 weeks of "resting"}

Such a short time for this little miracle

and I have to stop and be thankful for this storm in my life....

We have been wanting another child for 5 years, and God

gave us one after many years of praying and I carried that blessing for 12 weeks

and then God asked me to give her back to Him.

And yet, I am thankful..I can't exactly explain it

but the peace that passes all understanding is so real in my life at this time

{Philipians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.}

Job 1:21b the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

I know not the reason-but I trust in God's heart-because it is pure and true.

One of the other gifts she gave to me was Hope...

Maybe one day God will give us another blessing.

Hope that I might have some healing from my "disease"

Hope that I will see her one day in Heaven

Now I am trying my best with God's help to use my time wisely and to be thankful for it.

This is the only time that I have

I can not go back and get a single second of time back anytime I want.

I need to ask myself a few questions:

what am I doing with my life and my seconds of time here on earth?

Does it please my Heavenly Father?

Am I being thankful for the time I have?

Time is a fleeting thing...it is here and then it is gone.

We don't know when Christ will return and I want to be sure

that when He returns I have redeemed the time for Him.

James 4:14-15

(14) Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.

For what is your life?

It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

(15) For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

Psalm 90:12

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Ephesians 5:14-16

14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead,

and Christ shall give thee light.

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Romans 13:11

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep:

for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Mark 13:33

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Luke 21:34

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and

drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Surfeiting means to overindulge

Right now I am working on a butterfly chandelier

so I started with this plant basket holder:

and spray painted it to silver:

I strung my string tonight...and I already picked out and idea of how I want the design to be

{with the help of my wonderfull hubby}

{and yes! He gets two l's because he is just that wonderfull ;) }

So now I will start putting together all 220 butterfly's I punched out the other day...

I can't wait to see what it will look like:)

Then I wanted to share my wonderful gift from my wonderful Mother in Law:

{She is so special and I love her very much!!}

She sent me this precious angel bear when we lost Naomi Joy two weeks ago.

I cried and held on tight to that little blessing!!

Praise the Lord for the comfort He gives us through others and from Him alone!!!

He is so good to us!!!

He has blessed us beyond measure!

The Day After posted a few days after

Yesterday I woke up at 5:30 a.m. with some mild cramping and some bleeding

{sorry if that is TMI-I don't mean to be rude}

I sat up and calmly prayed.

I knew what was about to face me this day.

I then preceded to French Braid my hair because I knew that this would be best for surgery.

The doctors office isn't even open at this time..

they don't even know that I will need surgery yet.

After getting my hair done-I prayed again for the doctors and my family

-but I couldn't fall back to sleep.

I had a gnawing pain in my back in in my abdomen-it was too achy to get to sleep.

So I grabbed my laptop to help pass the time until I could wake my family up and

get them to take me to the hospital .

Honestly, I was very tired..but the pain wouldn't permit me to sleep.

I went into what was to be our little ones room {baby #3's} and typed out the saddest news...

I am going to miscarry.

{tears came to my eyes as I realized so many life changing this were going to happen}

I hadn't told everyone of my heartaches that I had been dealing with

since I was 6 weeks along in my pregnancy.

It has been a long and dreadful!!

And even still not everyone knows "My story"

I preceded to spell out the dreaded news so that my friends and followers would know.

This helps to explain as to why I hadn't posted all that often throughout this pregnancy.

That baby was a miracle....a sweet miracle and yet a glimmer of hope

that maybe anther miracle could come along if God sees fit.

{warning a little more TMI possibly-but I want you to know some of "My Story"}

You see I have been diagnosed with Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome.

It is a disease that affects your ovaries and makes it near to impossible to get pregnant.

After I had my son the 10lb 1 oz 23 inches Boy Wonder

I bled for the six weeks after and then

never had a cycle for about six years after that.

The doctor's didn't really do anything to help me....

they threw some medications at me-in hopes it would help me "cope".

I even have to take Metformin for the Insulin Resistance that PCOS can cause.

{I am very thankful that I don't have to test my blood sugar

or give myself insulin shots though!!! VERY THANKFUL!!}

The side effects of having PCOS is very cumbersome and annoying....

I saw light at the end of the valley when it was suggest that I go on progesterone for a little while.

I was amazed to find out that on the third month I was expecting!!!!

We were so excited-I couldn't wait until Father's Day to tell my hubby;

so I told him a week before-he was very excited!!

The weeks went so slow for me-with blood work almost every week...

and 3-4 ultrasounds.

And then after 10w4d of carrying the little one and 12w4d past my LMP

the little life is no longer-but yet such a miracle in the first place!!

What a story and what an amazing page that makes in my life!

Oddly the Lord prepared my heart for this time in April.

I had a friend come all the way from Ohio to see me!

Her and I were getting to be close friends through different resources.

She had had a miscarriage at 15 weeks

and had to deliver her little one.

It had to been heart wrenching!

She had a dear friend take pictures and she shared these pictures with me.

It was very hard going through them and seeing the sorrow in their eyes.

I was praying the whole time asking the Lord for wisdom and why so many

people I knew have had this happen to them.

And I asked the Lord if maybe He was preparing me for this road in my life as well.

He had put all these different ladies in my life to help.

I am so grateful to Him for this gift of friends!!!

Lydia will be here soon and I can't wait to hold her in my arms!!!

I know that I will cry & cry & cry for joy and for sorrow.

But I am so thankful that God is giving me my Lydia!!!

She is and will be my joy that comes in the morning!!

Maybe one day I will get to share the news of another pregnacy...and Lord willing

that babe will carry to full term.

Closing for now and praying for a quick recovery from my surgery.

"Heavenly" Diaries 8-12-2011

In between sleeping and sleeping...I have a lot on my mind.

I have wanted to post something and yet...

it seemed unimportant

{no offense to you-because you are important to me}

A lot has happened this week

some things planned somethings not

But I can rest confident that God knew everything that would happen before it did.

Psalm 139 has been a true comfort to us.

It doesn't mean that I don't cry...

because I do...sometimes a lot and some times a little

This grieving process is going to take some time....

How long?

I don't know...but I will take my time.

And I will rely on God's strength from day to day..

taking one day at a time.

Thank you so much for your support and love!!!

Hopefully I will be posting a little more later on.

I can share at least one good line of advise to help me through this:

"Trust in God's heart, it is true"

And that is so true.....

I love you my dear child and I will always hold you in my heart!!!
