im baumarkt gabs diese 3 entzückenden tuben acryl farbe in den farben mint, cyan und türkis. at home depot i’ve bought 3 tubes of acrylic paint. mint, cyan and turquoise.

mit einem stück washi tape habe ich die vasen abgeklebt. made a mark with washi tape.

angemalt. painted them.

trocknen lassen und mit bunten blumen gefüllt. let it dry and filled up with lovely roses.

auch wenns nur ein kleiner farbtupfer ist, aber im trio sehen die väschen ganz schick aus. außerdem war die aktion ziemlich kostengünstig. die vasen sind von ikea (1,50 € das stück wenn ich mich recht erinnere) und die farbe war 2 € das stück und hält noch 10 jahre.

a very low budget project. the vases came from ikea and were 1,50 € a piece and the paint was 2 € a tube but will last another 10 years. i love how the trio looks together!

may 1 – the sewing room needs some make-up. that’s the plan i made over the weekend

may 2 – i had a breakdown at the office due to being totally stressed out and need some serious rest. i’m an official burn-out patient now. and i hate it.

may 3 – the couch is my new place to be. i can’t do anything else but sit still.

may 4 – sometimes i look out the window. the weather looks like my mood.

may 5 – we had good friends over. enjoyed that a lot and the mood changed into something more positive.

may 6 – my appetite came back. 3 eggs on toast.

may 7 – my sweet, sweet martin made me dessert. he’s not leaving my side these days.

yes that’s basically what’s happened and i’m still in this condition. not leaving the house much, can’t really motivate myself doing anything, my blood pressure is so low i’m constantly exhausted and i wonder how long it will take until i feel normal again. all this feels so weird and i’ve never felt more helpless in my life. never thought that too much stress could cause all this. did you ever experienced this? what did you do?

ich hatte 2 farben fimo, kleine power magnete von ebay und ein skalpell.

aus dem fimo hab ich ungefähr gleich große knubbel geknetet

und anschließend eine kule für die magneten reingedrückt.

nach packungsanweisung 30 minuten im ofen gebacken und noch im relativ heißen zustand angeschnitten, so dass kleine geometrische “steine” entstanden ist. es entsteht ein wenig abfall, das ist allerdings nicht zu vermeiden, denn fimo lässt sich in ungebackenen zustand wirklich nur sehr bescheiden sauber schneiden.

dann habe ich mit kraftkleber jeweils einen magnet in die kule geklebt und zack…

feddisch. 24 stunden trocknen lassen und dann konnte ich damit die wichtigsten infos am kühlschrank fest pinnen. :-)

some time ago i’ve found some fimo at the craft store and was happy about all the colors they had. when i used fimo the last time (in the early 90s) they only had 4 colors which wasn’t very exciting. so i bought 2 packs and made some magnets for our fridge with it.

i rolled some equal knobs and made a mold for the magnets. after that they were baked in the oven and while they were still warm i’ve cut them into faceted beads. there is some waste of fimo but you cannot avoid that, since you can’t really cut fimo decently when it’s soft.

with a power glued i attached the magnets and after a rest of 24 hours i had beautiful little magnets to keep our fridge nicely decorated.

das thema bei der ersten runde tauschen war SCHOKOLADE und von mir bekam die liebe susanne eine runde snickers-schoko-kekse, die so groß wie wagenräder waren (ich bin ungeübt im kekse backen, entsprechend klein ist die erfahrung mit ausdehnungsprozessen von teig im heißen ofen…) aber das ist ja an sich nicht schlimm. da hat man mehr vom keks.

man nehme

150 g zartbitter schokolade -> im wasserbad schmelzen

200 g snickers -> grob hacken

125 g weiche butter + 175 g zucker + 1 ei + 1 pack vanillezucker + eine prise salz -> schaumig schlagen

200 g mehl + 1 tl backpulver + 1 el kakao -> mischen

-> die geschmolzene schokolade mit der butter/zucker mischung verrühren, mehl-mischung und snickers-mischung dazugeben.

ein bisschen snickers aufheben. den teig mit einem esslöffel auf dem backblech verteilen und jedes häufchen ein bisschen flach quetschen. die häufchen dürfen ruhig etwas keiner ausfallen, denn der teig dehnt sich wirklich doll aus. bei 170 grad nur 10 minuten backen. fertig. lecker!!

von susanne habe ich ganz großartige bounty kugeln bekommen. davon esse ich momentan jeden tag eine. ganz himmlisch sind die.

ich bin gespannt, was das thema bei der nächsten tauschrunde ist und freue mich schon drauf.

here in germany a bunch of bloggers and people who love to bake and cook have an initiative named “mail from my kitchen“. we get a random exchange partner and we send each other home-made baked goodies. this happened for the first time now and for my blogger friend susanne i’ve baked snickers-chocolate cookies that turned out huge (and delicious).

i melted 150 g dark chocolate, chopped 200 g of snickers, mixed 125 g of soft butter, 175 g sugar, one egg, 1 pack of vanilla sugar and a bit of salt and added it to the chocolate. then added 200 g of flour, 1 small spoon of baking powder and a spoon of cocoa.

with a big spoon i put small amounts of dough onto the baking tray and baked for 10 minutes at 170°C. they were super!!

i’m looking forward to the next round and will eat susanne’s bounty candy  in the meantime.

bevor wir ins wochenende stürzen wollte ich euch noch ein paar basteleien zeigen, die ich kürzlich im web fand. eine tolle eulen lampe (die tapete ist auch der kracher, oder?), selbst bemalte jute beutel und ein teppich à la freundschaftsbändchen. fast zu schade um sich an ihm die füße abzutreten. ich hoffe, ein bisschen zeit am wochenende zu finden, etwas zu basteln. eigentlich plane ich ja viel zu nähen und die shops mal aufzustocken. was habt ihr denn schönes vor? soll ja warm werden!

you might have seen the major change here on the blog and i can’t tell how grateful i am i had such a fantastic collaboration with tabitha emma. since my previous experience with the designer was a total disaster my wish was huge to get rid of this design and start from scratch. katrina has a super list of web designers which i went through patiently to see what kind of services everyone offered. there i found tabitha and knew she was the one who i could trust. when i clicked through her previous works i found all kinds of styles and i loved them all.

after she agreed on working together with me it took me long to decide for myself what i really wanted. 4 weeks after the journey began and since i wasn’t in a hurry i took my time to think about every single step thouroughly. she was very patient and did a fantastic job. the first layout was perfect and we only did some minor changes.

throughout the whole project she was very kind and quick in returning my emails and i’m so glad i chose her. if you need a blog design or an illustration i highly recommend to work with tabitha. she’s an angel.
