All is well. The holidays came and went (rather quickly might I add) and they treated us well. New Year's was nothing short of amazing. We hosted an 80's themed party at our place (pics are on Flickr) which was a huge hit. Lots of friends stopped by, I never knew our apartment could fit that many people!

Some highlights from 2008 include: a lot of our friends and family getting married, lots of concerts, we moved, got a new car, we both did well in school, Giants won the Super Bowl, lots of old and new friends, our 1 year wedding anniversary (or 8 years of being together), and great bashes. It really was a good year. Let's hope 2009 is even better!

K & C

Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree
Originally uploaded by chrisandkim00
Hey everyone!

Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving. We did! Ate tons of delicious food and hung out with family. We got a new computer (an iMac) about a week ago which is beautiful. We really missed having a mac. We also put up our Christmas tree yesterday. It's nice having a big tree (6 1/2 feet!) being in our other 2 apartments the living rooms were small or we had no storage for a tree. We also redecorated a little bit to make room for the tree and our computer. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Tomorrow's hump day

Tomorrow's already Wednesday, these weeks go by incredibly fast. We're both in week 7 of school which is going just as fast. Work is good. I had a field trip today and one tomorrow. The kids really seemed to like today's trip to the museum and I think they're going to love tomorrow's even more being they're going to create their own work.

We can't believe the holidays are already approaching. Thanksgiving is already a week away and Christmas will be here in a flash. We're going to get a tree this weekend which is really exciting being it's going to be our first real tree. Our last 2 apartments were too small for a large tree (we had a table tree instead) and now we have a lot more room to decorate. We're also going to get a Mac this weekend! We've missed our old Mac(s) terribly and we've had it up to here with our PC.

Everything else is good. Last week was Chris' mom's wedding. It was really nice and the reception was a lot of fun. Her hubby is awesome. Speaking of families, my mom and brother FINALLY sold their house and are moving back here which is awesome cuz I'll see them a lot more. It's not like they lived far, it was only Newark, but it wasn't great with me driving there by myself at night.

That's it for now, enjoy these 2 videos:

Sleepy kitty:

Trio:

Weekend's over :(

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFtT582vGe1dBXIMo8ldcwM1OT-xpEvdj29zblQHI10YmO8OnMfEIP6Waxc4wNbfEwuzEBo78DDG2VA-FPaxtmEljNTCbGWkjz-RcW-xlL-mxrATlWFeGzXXG9hQ3TQEtRd0VW/s200/Chrisandkim+115.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5266872859824424722" />

What a fantastic weekend! On Friday we went to see the Drive By Truckers and the Hold Steady at Terminal 5. The show was great, both bands put on great sets. The venue is huge and we got a good spot on the floor. We were also able to take some pretty decent pictures. They're up on our Flickr if you're interested.

Saturday morning was our soccer breakfast. Despite a little technical difficulties, it went well. Mike was definitely our tech savior. Even though it started at 7:30 am, we had a lot of people here. Arsenal won 2-1 so that made us very happy. Good friends, good food, and a good game. Saturday night was a housewarming party at Lisa and Rich's apartment. Our little group created a dance party in their kitchen, complete with teabags. After that we retreated to our place.

Today included finishing up school work, family dinner, and football. Chris isn't feeling well, I think he has what Dora had last night. I'm feeling below par as well. For some reason I have a cough in the am and pm, and my voice goes really hoarse at night. We both need to get better for next weekend, Chris' mom is getting married!

VOTE!!!!!

It's 5 minutes til midnight. We didn't get many trick-or-treaters, maybe 3? I was out for a bit with my mom so maybe there were more. We were locked down at work on Thursday and Friday because of a text circulating about the Bloods initiation and them going after women. Crazy. I dressed up as Little Red Riding hood for work, it was really d.i.y: red hoodie, black skirt, dishtowel as an apron, another dishtowel in my picnic basket, and braids. I was just glad that I got to wear a hoodie to work. The kids at work had adorable costumes.

Last night we went to a Halloween party. We dressed as zombies. We didn't stay out too late being Chris didn't get out til 11 and he's working OT today. Tonight we're going to the city for Tom's birthday.

Happy Friday!

This week flew (thankfully!). I can't believe we both finished our 2nd week of classes, go us! We've both been pretty busy with homework. I had a ton of reading to do, and after highlighting everything, I have 18 pages of handwritten notes. Ah! I think my hand might fall off. That's how I learn though, I have to write everything out.

Today was ok. I burnt our tea kettle. Chris usually makes our tea in the morning, but I made it this morning. He usually puts the water in the night before so I thought he had done this. Nope. Needless to say our little white kettle turned brown and the paint chipped off. Lovely.

So after work I decided to go to Kmart for a new kettle. I couldn't find it anywhere and the lady at customer service told me they stopped selling them! I guess they only cater to coffee drinkers.

Earlier in the day Chris told me our cable/phone/internet wasn't working for some reason. I called the company when I got in and they couldn't get anyone to fix it til tomorrow. I called again and they fixed it tonight. Turns out they were supposed to disconnect the people upstairs from us and mixed up the wires. Brilliant!

This weekend is exciting. Tomorrow is pumpkin picking and then Tom's Octoberfest party.

Fall Playlist

If the songs don't show up, just hit "Pop out player". Unfortunately, Chris has class today, but he'll be out soon. We both started school this past week and it's going great.

The past 2 weekend were great. Last Saturday night we went out for Melissa's birthday to a bar called Hi Fi. After there we hit up the Beauty Bar for the 2nd weekend in a row and danced our asses off.

On Friday, I went to a bingo party that one of my coworkers was throwing. It may sound silly, but it was a ton of fun. I won $100 and a Vineyard scented Yankee candle. After that, Chris met the rest of us up at Molly's where were surrounded my guidos, bros, and lots of orangy rubber skin. Then we went to O'Neill's which was good and we saw a ton of people that we know.

On Saturday we ran a bunch of errands during the day and then stayed in to do our homework and had a couple of beers.

Last night Dora and Brian stopped over. We watched Teen Wolf, chatted, and watch music videos. It was a pleasant surprise to see them. :)

Next week is Yaktoberfest!!!!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeekend

Friday...finally!

It's October already, nuts right? Today was ok, had work, got stuff done, and it went fast. Poor Chris has a cold. In fact, he figured out that everytime we go to see a movie with Michael Cera in it he's sick. Yup. Tomorrow we're going to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, and when we saw Juno he was sick. Odd.

This afternoon my neighbors downstairs brought me soup. The bell rang and the little girl downstairs was holding a plate with sliced bread and a bowl of soup. The mom said that she made it and she wanted to give me some. I thought that was really nice. I'm going to make them cupcakes soon as a thank you. I only had a spoonful though cuz I had already had dinner, so I saved it for Chris being his sick (and we all know that soup makes you feel better).

We both start school next week. I had to pay for my books today which sucked being the website said that no books were required. It sucked cuz I had to pay for faster shipping and a $25 rush order fee.

Anyone watch the VP debate last night? I did and I thought Biden delivered verbal bitch slaps to Palin. She annoys me, I can't take her seriously cuz everytime I look at her I see Tina Fey. Plus she doesn't answer any of the questions that were asked of her. Obama better win, can you imagine if she gets in office and something happens to McCain?! We'd be royally screwed.

Here are some pics for your enjoyment:

Whole wheat penne pasta, chicken, and tomatoes in a basil cream sauce:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyUbzxVGSEMYPJzRhc8I6MrwX6JFZQbZgU8BxWwtPDpElpR9L37hyOFxmBClyVKJWEXF53MoZyrNNambWBe75MfF3CameWfx4qSnldl6Q8ZZqeo_fPX1XTzo5uhHd7c1Acpy-5/s200/005.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253116155139651890" />

Soup from my neighbor:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyNu6EGGHyubuEvKVEH7Jew5WCT987X89Z23VC2x0gq6de56Wpt2aIS1ejZSg5gdfWMJ1jaFzKhA-fuSeKknI6hhScMKsiJ7M3zhUVVs1VrbiG5eGoTsP4tNRzlYnXAd0Ln-wa/s200/006.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253117084217275602" />

You Got A Problem With Your Face?

The title is the quote from some drunk ass girl from Saturday night. She was sitting on the floor in the city, so drunk her friends had to hold her up. Now I know if I was that ridiculously drunk, I'd be embarrassed, I wouldn't be shouting that at random strangers walking by. Needless to say, we all avoided eye contact with her.

We had a great weekend. On Friday, Dora and I went to see Built to Spill with 2 of my friends. They were fantastic. They played "Perfect From Now On" straight through, then played "The Plan", "Center of the Universe", and ended with "Carry the Zero" (3 of my favorite songs). Had they played "You Were Right" and "Sidewalk" I would've been ecstatic. The venue is HUGE and it was sold out.

On Saturday, we went out for Gary's birthday. We went to an indoor German Biergarten. We're definitely going back cuz it was so awesome. Great food, great beer, swinging steins, and dancing on tables to German music, as well as classics such as "Gloria", "We Are the Champions", and "The Final Countdown". We also ventured to Mona's for $2.50 PBR's and then finally danced into the Beauty Bar where Alex was djing. We ended the night with "The Pizza Chicken" and got back into NJ at 5:45.

Nothing else is really new. I'm going to post 2 recipes that I made recently. If you're interested in the full recipes let me know.

Stuffed Peppers
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8pEfaJFnuj1xTC6HB6bXGqfZpy_ygJ4fuRYJiy3JU9pXJfNKzE6fmeHFhY1nRprEDo_yGWqyj5iHWHlqV8hJIHXlVJzHgCScgKzmiuevrJjPJL6NoFEfLPBEPlhp_VJS0TXND/s200/001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251601406245279058" />

Stuffed with:
Ground turkey, celery, onion, tomato sauce, and black beans
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6D3IUFIAfu8IARzaxgpACCHNXu8uewenqqbe4L8kqYMMxNL3lg0-zkasGrO4ky1QGDcxEKylBzCV_zSGXNPz_DBPaLkX75oKlNE8KINwgm1f2BBKmcchUDIFAQrU1aaEHvPja/s200/002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251601712121652482" />

Potato soup: Garlic, Celery, broccoli, potatoes, chicken broth, fat free 1/2 and 1/2, light sour cream, cheese, and Bacos
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKG9iwJe6aHExsjEAHkUD38ccw9mzmnI3qIQY0KQK1WdlQIgE7ih3iAihDixgONm2p-jJrQtbkMKCH1Bw5RWQUMiODO0Txn3_nnTk1k53OpsyeAsynvLr8wAw7T_310qLFNbHq/s200/003.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5251602679393198546" />

In other news, I just saw one of my favorite commercials. In my sleepy haze I remember thinking, "oh that's cute, the alarm is going off on a Saturday." Yeah, so much for that.

I got up, got ready, and drove to work. I was graced with good music on my way thankfully. I caught the end of "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey (sorry Chris, I know you hate that song) and "Bizarre Love Triangle" by New Order (my absolute favorite song). That got me a little pumped about being up so early.

This week has been draining. I've been all over the place doing testing for new students. One last school to do on Monday (thankfully)! I really do love my job, I just hate September because it's a lot of running around and paperwork.

We don't have anything going on for the weekend due to car issues ($$). It's all good though, we don't mind staying home.

In other news, I'm a little disappointed about not going to see the Kings of Leon. I wish tickets weren't $36 (before Ticketmaster bullshit).

new music

the new Kings of Leon and the new Fucked up are both in the mediafire account so go and enjoy. heres the link again Marty Jannetty is Alive!!

music

So we have a mediafire account and here is a direct link. Headed up to Donegal's for "2 beers" which ended up turning into a long night. Fun times.

Yesterday was a girls night. Me, Mon, and Jen went to Casual Thai in Hoboken for dinner. Really good Thai place if you're in the area. Then we went to Maxwell's to meet up with Jen's coworker. They had karaoke night which was very entertaining. Jen and I sang "Love Shack". Met up with Chris at the Scots at the end of the night.

Today is Sonic Youth. It's gonna be awesome. A lot of our friends are going: Mon, Mike, Risa, and Dee. It's gonna be fun and we're looking forward to hitting up the Turkey's Nest.

Oh, and I got my hair cut and highlighted yesterday. Check it out, I look like I'm 5 with bangs:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFxEnRmyJ75Y836Jmqho9YC8TmCai2wGdx-FknfMyl8IkA50fksb8WgHfZK7TKXKNUegG0biR60uXp07CRYsRCWt9VfwGW_iRlU2edcRGTE_5bE7D8po5L9ImETzAaGWEM8MHt/s200/002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5240349934479724450" />

End of August

Let's recap, shall we?

Lisa's bachelorette party went well. The Beauty Bar and Planet Rose were both a ton of fun. There was a little drama at the end being the limo driver was sort of a dick.

The wedding was this past weekend. We LOVED it. Seriously, so much fun. I don't think we even sat down at all being we were dancing the whole time. Everyone looked so great!

This weekend we have Sonic Youth in Brooklyn and then a BBQ on Sunday...then back to work. Hopefully I'll be all better being I think I have a sinus infection. I've felt like shit these past 2 days so I'm trying to rest and stay medicated. Yikes!

Hi everyone,

I can't believe it's mid August already. Where did this summer go? These past few weekends were fun. 2 weeks ago we went down to Chris' aunt's for this huge BBQ that they throw every year. It was a ton of fun. The night before we hung out in their yard by the firepit with cocktails, then headed to the hot tub. I've never seen such an amazing yard: hot tub, tons of space, inground pool, and a trampoline.

This past weekend was Chris' birthday (and his mom's too). We went to Cuban Pete's for his mom's birthday with the whole family. She got their honorary birthday celebration (loud bongo song and dancing men). Friday was Chris' sausagefest birthday. It ran perfectly. I can't believe how many people were there. It was bigger and better than we could've imagined. Then on Saturday we saw Radiohead at APW. It really felt like we were at Coachella. Radiohead was unbelievable.

Tonight were going to the NJPac with Chris' family. They have concerts in the park and food/drinks. Hopefully it doesn't rain. Saturday is Lisa's bachelorette party. It's gonna be fun, it'd better be, Mon and I put a lot of hard work into it. I think Chris and I are getting up REALLY early to go watch a soccer game at a bar in Hoboken. The game is at 7:45am!

Next week is the rehearsal and Lisa's wedding. I can't believe it's here already. It's gonna be fun, so many of our friends are gonna be there. Then the week after that is Sonic Youth/Labor Day. Then back to work for me :( I want to go back, but I don't. It stinks that Chris has to go back to his old schedule, but I know it's not for long being he's not gonna be there forever.

Busy busy bees

I can't believe it's almost August. Lots of things coming up to be excited for. First and foremost, our 1 year wedding anniversary is Monday. A year already, crazy! It goes by so fast. I mean, we've been together 8 years and that flew by. To celebrate, we're going to Cuban Pete's tonight to celebrate. We love that place. I hope it's nice out and not too crowded so we can eat outside on their little patio. This time we're bringing some rum for the mojitos being it's byob. Also, for our anniversary gifts to eachother, traditionally the 1st year is paper. So, we are going to see Sonic Youth at the end of August (tickets = paper).

Also, you should have all received an evite for Chris' birthday. If you did not, kindly reply with your email address. It's gonna be amazing!

Listening to some vintage Saves the Day

So yesterday we hit up the farmer's market in town which is really good. They have the best semolina bread and fresh mozzarella. Last week we got one wrapped in prosciutto and this one we got one wrapped in pepperoni. We also bought some grape tomatoes, cilantro, peaches, blueberries, and peach/apricot jam. I made some grilled bread, fresh mozzarella, and peach salsa for Jen's house. Mon and I went over for some beers, snacks, and girl talk. It was nice, I feel like I don't see her enough.

So this morning I've been loading a ton of pictures to print out being we have close to like 500 free prints. So I'm sitting in my American Apparel booty shorts (which should not be worn out of the house) and a tank top (one that I sleep in and don't wear out of the house) when the doorbell rings. I peek my head out the door (and hide the rest of me behind it) and see it's my landlord who's here to install our dryer! Woo! So needless to say I ran inside to change into normal clothing before opening the back door. He was impressed with our wall decals too. He left a little while ago to get a part. I can't wait, we have soooooo much laundry to do. Like over 4 hampers full!

Today is free slurpee day at 7-11 and then I think we're taking one of Chris' coworkers to Costco. We love that place, we're such nerds. Then to the Scots club tonight and Tom's jamboree bbq/party tomorrow. We've also been good with using our Wii fit. I think it's hysterical when you see all your mii's playing the games with you. It seriously cracks me up. That and the fact that your mii's gain weight.

Put your sunglasses on, no one will see you dance

So it's the end of the long holiday weekend which was awesome. Here's a recap:

Thursday night we went to Arlene's Grocery in the city to see Tim's band play. That venue is awesome so we'll definitely be back.

Friday was the Sonic Youth show at Battery Park. We had the worst pizza ever being there's nothing to eat in that area. The show was good except for a few sprinkles, it was people watching to the max. After the show we went to Lucky Strike for some food. It was good, but it was hella expensive. After that was Toad Hall which is way more exciting during the day. Then we found this gem called the Horseshoe bar. Tons of cheap drinks, an amazing jukebox, and a photobooth. After that we ventured to the Trash party (Rififi, but at a new venue) for some dancing on the stage.

Yesterday was the Brooklyn Brewery. We headed over with Chris' aunt and uncle for cheap brews and a tour which was ok. After that we went to the German Biergarten for some food and steins of beer. Then we headed back to Manhattan to a sweet dive called Johnny's. We definitely made our presence known there, taking over the jukebox and ridding the place of a crowd of annoying pretentious (stating the obvious) hipsters by dancing like an asshole and telling them to "put your sunglasses on, no one will see you dance". We met some cool people there who actually enjoyed our entertainment. Then the 6 of us piled into the most cramped cab ride home back to Jersey. We ended the night at Chris' aunt/uncle's house dancing to the Beach Boys.

So it's obvious to say that we tied on a ripper this weekend.

Week 2 of summer vacation

The apartment smells of garlic and I don't know why. Chris is cooking up something that smells delicious for dinner. I know it involves macaroni, basil, and garlic. We went foodshopping today so we bought lots of delicious things. Lots of fresh (summery) fruits and vegetables, rum (for mojitos!), and yogurt (for smoothies!) Then we went to the dentist where we both wound up with numb lips from our fillings.

We had a good weekend too. Friday we hit up Woodbury Commons (outlets) for a ton of shopping. We got a lot of summer stuff and amazing deals. At night, we hit up the new Rififi for some dancing. On Saturday our washer and dryer was delivered. Our landlord should be over any day to hook up the dryer. I can't wait to be able to do laundry here and not lug it around to the laundry mat. Yesterday was Lisa's shower which went well.

Nothing too exciting this week. Friday is the free Sonic Youth show with Mon and Mike and then probably Toad Hall. Saturday is the Brooklyn Brewery for the tour and cheap beers and then to a German Beer Garden for more beer and food. Exciting weekend!

I plan on perfecting my mixologist skills as well. We had mojitos before (mine was a cucumber one). I want to make a drink of blueberries, basil, vodka, sugar, and club soda, kinda like a vodka mojito? Sounds good, hope it tastes good.

96 Degrees

Happy Monday everyone. I had a half day at work today due to the unbearable heat. We're having one tomorrow as well. As much as I love having off, I'm a little disappointed because this week is the last week my kids have my class so I invited their parents in to see the final projects. However, my afternoon classes have to be canceled being we get out at 1. What can I do though, I can't control the weather.

So now I'm sitting in my air conditioned bedroom and relaxing. My cable box keeps turning on and it by itself which I think is from the heat.

This weekend was good. Chris had dentist appointment on Saturday where he was told that he is a candidate for braces, then went to lunch with Chris' aunt and uncle at Krug's in Newark where we had the best cheeseburgers EVER, Tori's soccer game, Donegal's to watch the Belmont horse race, and then to Lisa and Rich's for dinner and drinks.

Sunday was just like our usual Sundays except it included shopping for an AC. Next weekend is the craft fair in Brooklyn and the REM/Modest Mouse/The National show. Can't wait!

Hey hey Hey

It's summer time and that means beach reading season (well you can read all year round anyway) and we found this cool site that is a mix of myspace and last.fm but for books.
It's called goodreads.com check it out and join. check out our profile and what we have read at http://www.goodreads.com/profile/chrisandkim we will also put this link on the side bar as well
peace out
c&k
