This Saturday Oct. 27th I will be signing at the famous Dr. Volts in Salt Lake City UT from 11 to 3pm then I will be rushing off to Spokane WA for the Little Con of Horrors where I will be signing and drawing form 10 am to 4 pm. Please come by and see me if you are in the area of either of these two events! Above is a picture of "Creepy Connie" the LCH's mascot! I will have prints available at both events just in time for Halloween! Special thanks to Faestock on DeviantArt for the stock photo reference.
Because we all know the internet needs more pussy cats! Bad-um-pump ching!... Las Vegas Comic Expo was a smashing success. It seriously reminded me of San Diego about 20 years ago. Loads of super talented people: Stephane Roux, Dan Panosian, Mateo Scalera, Adam Hughes, Scott Lobdell, it goes on and on. Lots of people from Utah, California, Arizona, and of coarse Nevada. Despite a flash flood changing the venue, and a rival con going on at the same time: LVCE has broken the Las Vegas Comic Convention curse. Bravo ladies and gentlemen, Bravo. Special Thanks to: Slade Hart for hooking me up with my sweet standing banner in time for the show. John and Rachael Ross for feeding me, and putting up with my wackiness for the con, and a boatload of free miniatures. Lynn Walker who watched me set back the Rivera Buffet at least a week's worth of profits. The waiter at Coco's who let me draw commissions well into the morning on a purchase of a diet Pepsi and a piece of pie (hope the tip helped.) Breanna Brock for helping the HAS crew get situated. Special thanks to my former students / current friends (and their significant others) Amanda Bills (soon to be Mrs.) Beu Law, Jemma Young and Jacob Young. They were surrogates for Joy who could not attend and kept me from spending my money on toys, comics and other artists' sketch books. I just might ask Jacob to come with me to every show because he could sell ketch-up popsicles to a woman in white gloves. However I have zero pictures because Joy wasn't there to take pictures. Finally my apologies to Jemma who had to sit in the backseat and listen while Jacob and I talked politics and James Bond movies on they way home (If bad conversation were a crime I would get the chair). As if being pregnant, tired, and carsick wasn't bad enough for the 3 hour road trip back. As my Dad would say "You're all good kids".

Dragon Age: Those Who Speak

Hey all, just a reminder that I'm still working hard to bring to you the Dragon Age books from Bioware and Dark Horse. I just got the script for the first issue from Dragon Age: Until We Sleep and OMGosh if you liked The Silent Grove, and are liking Those Who Sleep, your going to lay an egg when you see who shows up in Until We Sleep. Anyhoo, here is a piece I did based on what's going on in issue #2. Hope you like it! If you do, tell your friends, this issue should hitting the stands pretty quick.

Also a reminder that I will be attending the Las Vegas Comic Expo this Sat. and Sun. (Sept. 29th and 30th Las Vegas NV) at the Riviera on the Strip!

I survived Comic Con 2012

I know what you are thinking. San Deigo Comic Con? That was 2 months ago! Yes, yes it was, but when you are penciling and inking a book with a 5 week deadline it doesn't leave a lot of time for love. Times that by two and you got me busting my hump to hit the deadline, and as much as I like to keep you updated when I'm are struggling to find a couple hours of sleep blogging goes down the totem pole pretty quick. However, my deadlines have been hit. I've slept. So its time to give this blog some long needed attention. I have tons of stuff to show, but rather than doing a huge dump I'm going to update twice a week. Hopefully this will get people back to looking here and give me a chance to rebuild some trust.

Above is my favorite commission I did for the show. It was for my now friend Marty Fung. I was drawing this on the sidewalk outside the convention center and despite getting knocked over by a bunch of Firefly fans too busy geeking out to watch where they were going, I got it done. The scene was enough to attract the attention a passing by editor, and yes I did get his card.

More pics coming. Stay Tuned.

Okay just a quick update. Free Comic Book Day was awesome. Above is a quick commission done for Zack Olsen, I did other drawings that day but Zack wanted his sketch card done in full color so I got the opportunity to finish it (and thus scan it) at home. Zack, its in the mail to Comics Plus. Huge thanks to Dave for having me out. I was so stoked to meet Garrett Wang. Let me tell you guys I've met a lot of Trek actors over the years and Garrett totally takes the cake. There are a lot of Trek actors who are ashamed of their fans but Garrett is clearly not one of them. He had awesome stories, he signed my Ensign Kim Action Figure and was 100% cool with everyone he met that day, and it was a long day. It was also awesome to see my young friend Lee Wiley do so well selling copies of his independent books. Lee had the new tech down and was selling books like hotcakes! Maybe this old dog can try to learn some new tricks from Lee. Thank you to everyone who purchased prints and commissions it made my day to sell out of more than half of my prints. Thank you to Mike and his family for introducing me to the famous but now defunct Fargo's. Sorry to Mike's kids for talking to Dad so long while they waited patently in the car. I'll try not to do that again.

All my love and thanks to fans in St. George and the entire crew at Comics Plus.
Hey Gang, Its that time of year again! Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday May 5th. I will be signing comics at Comics Plus in St. George Utah. It's Dave's 25th Anniversary at Comics Plus and he's throwing one gigantic party. Garrett Wang who starred as Ensign Harry Kim on Star Trek Voyager will be there with Lee Wiley and myself. ITS GONNA BE HUGE. So stop by, get your books signed, see the latest Dragon Age art. I will have artwork for sale and will be doing commissions. Above is a sample of the latest from Dragon Age #6 available today to download from the Dark Horse Digital Store. If you come to Free Comic Book Day you can see the originals (and buy it if you like!).

#10- It's Low in Carbs. How is it possible that a nerdy science guy has the six pack abs of a UFC Champ? Simple. He watches what he eats.

#9- Awesome Hats. Who knew that time travel would result in such a fancy display of head gear?!

#8- Its Scientific. At least as much as High School, except our labs have cool explosions. Beat that baby pig in formaldehyde .

#7- Oh the places you'll go. Yes! Dare I say? The Traveler does in fact get around. Enjoy the scenic beauty.

#6- BFG's. We got guns that make Cable jealous...

#5- Marksmanship. And we know how you use them!

#4- Celebrity Cameos. Larry King guest stars.

#3- Hot Alien Chicks. Eat your heart out Cap'n Kirk.

#1- Pure Stan Lee Awesomeness. That's right true believers: Ron AKA The Traveler AKA Kronus. Is about as Stan Lee as it gets. So if you're a fan of Spider-Man, Iron-Man, The FF, etc. then don't miss out on Mr. Lee's latest! We won't disappoint!

Mostly because I am busy, which is good, but not when it hurts you (my loyal fan base). I just want to say this. I'm sorry. I will do better. I wanted to post some artwork form Traveler #5. There are a lot of grumpy bears out there who are poo-poo-ing the issue a little. Us comic fans can be a fickle group. We see change ups in the writer/artists, and we get a green eggs and ham attitude. That's just the nature of the business folks. However, I want to ask you my fans for an honest critique. Because I believe the actual artwork is getting better with every issue of Traveler. As I get more comfortable with the characters I loosen up, I get more expressive. The work looks more cartoony or animated and it looses realism. That's the way I like it. However, I'm not sure that is the way you like it. So I'm going to post some of the artwork for your viewing pleasure and you guys tell me what you want. Do you like the realism or the expressionism let me know. Either way I'm good, I just want to give you what you feel you deserve.
