I took some cute pics of Briley in her new Minnie Mouse Birthday dress. I bought it from a lady on etsy.com. She did an awesome job.. it fits perfect and Briley loves it!

Happy {2nd} Birthday Briley!

Two years ago, my first daughter came into the world today. I'm so blessed to have such an amazing daughter. She pulled through heart surgery at 6 months old, and now she's two years old.. happy and healthy. Happy birthday sweet girl!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge {Beautiful B&W}

2012-03-06T10:14:00.001-08:00

This is Connor. My best friend's little boy!

This photo is definitely my favorite from his first photo shoot. I had his mom put a little red kissy on his cheek for some shots of him by himself sleeping in his cute little outfits... and this shot was actually taken while we were transitioning from one pose to another. He just looked right at me.. checking out the camera and I'm so glad I snapped the picture because it turned out so beautiful! This goes to show that you just gotta keep clicking away and you're bound to get something good!

2012-02-18T14:07:00.000-08:00

Look at what my husband found me at Goodwill! AWESOME find for $16. This is going to make a really awesome prop not to mention a great new addition to our living room!

Happy Valentines Day!

Photo of the day

2012-02-10T09:47:00.000-08:00

So my two year old has become quite the nudist. At this point I dont even know why I spend time dressing her in the mornings. She just loves to be nakey. So here she is smiling for the camera amidst her naked run around the house:

Also feel free to check out our Facebook Page and take a look at our other photos or leave something on our wall. We love feedback! :) Thanks and until next time, God Bless!

Antique-ing!

2012-02-08T15:00:00.000-08:00

So this past weekend, my husband and I went to an Antique store in the Dahlonega square... we found some really awesome things. I was so glad I had my camera to snap some pics:

Cropping

2012-02-07T11:42:00.000-08:00

Cropping a photo can give your photo a whole new look! I experimented with the same photo and did some light editing to show you how much of a difference cropping can make..

This one looks like more of a direct shot by cutting both sides to make the image center:

As you can see, I completely cut out the right side to make the subject off center. Gives a really nice openness and nice flow leading up to the subject:
This next one I completely cut out most of the subject matter and made it into more of a close up portrait of just her face, leaving it off center to have more of an artsy feel:

That's all for today. Until next time, God Bless!

Photo of the Day

2012-02-06T08:00:00.000-08:00

Found this photo of Briley reading. I love how I captured her in this moment.

Until next time... God Bless.

Baby Blues

2012-01-25T10:50:00.000-08:00

Love this picture. I am beginning to notice that the best pictures just happen... pictures that are forced.. look forced. And this one just turned out GREAT! She just leaned her head over our couch arm and I snapped the picture!

Until next time... God bless!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge: By the Book

2012-01-24T13:21:00.000-08:00

This is my first I Heart Faces photo entry! Every week they post different themes and this week's was called "by the book". I chose this picture of my daughter Briley reading a book. It was really hard choosing just ONE picture to post for this challenge.. but this one won on my facebook page. Hope you guys like the picture. Feel free to leave some feed back! Thanks!

Re-Do!

2012-01-16T11:45:00.000-08:00

The awesome thing about photography is that you can always go back and re-edit photos. That is exactly what I did today... I photographed the Johnson family last week and the pictures turned out awesome.. except one picture of all three of them together...

Here is the original photo un-editted:

great composition.. just really terrible coloring... (on account of no lighting equipment..)

Sooo.. I editted it and it became this photo:

Still great composition.. but I just didnt like the "haze" and the still visible orangy tint.

Sooo.. I revisited the picture today and Im really happy with the way it turned out:

Beautiful little family

Playing Dress Up!

2012-01-14T21:09:00.000-08:00

Flower Power!

2012-01-12T11:58:00.000-08:00

So today I took some pics of my beautiful little girl Zoe. I had these silk flowers laying around from a project that never got finished... so I layed down a white blanket and placed the flowers around her.. this is what I ended up with.
Smiley!

Yawn!

Thanks again guys!

Wrapping Paper Back Drop!!

2012-01-06T08:19:00.000-08:00

My little sister, Brittany, came over the other day to take some pictures. She stopped by Wal-Mart on the way and picked up some really cool wrapping paper for the background. I really enjoy taking photos outside... but since it's pretty cold out now, wrapping paper is a great inexpensive way to take pictures inside and they turned out really nice.

Thanks Britt for letting me use you for these pics!

Holiday photos

2012-01-03T08:07:00.000-08:00

So this past Christmas my family bought me an awsome Olympus camera. So here are some pics I took over the holidays.

Well that is all that I have the time to upload now.. back to mommy duties.

Welcome!

2012-01-02T15:23:00.000-08:00

Hello everyone! I am so excited about this blog!

I am new at this whole blogging thing.. so we will see how it goes.

Basically, I am a stay at home mother of two. My husband and I are coming up on our one
year anniversary. And my youngest will be two months old tomorrow. So we have been very busy this last year, and now I have picked up an interest in photography.

My girls are pretty much my inspiration. Babies are so precious and just make for a beautiful picture no matter what they are doing! So they are pretty much all that I take pictures of.. other than my random pictures of things around the house or my in-laws house.

So my goal with this blog is to show everyone what I can do.. and maybe make this into an awesome weekend hobby that I can make some extra money at to help my hardworking husband with some of our bills! :)

Thanks guys,
Lauren
